Sprint g3 wireless charging - Sprint LG G3

I see that me g3 has the wireless charging back Cover. Will it work with a slim armor case on.. If so i want that charger asap

I think that is nfc on the case not the charger. I have a qi charger and it doesn't work.

That sucks i thought it was the charging back.

Found a picture of it i see how its made now. Thanks

Should try to get in the group purchases for the Qi stickers. I just paid for round 2 last night.

2 pins on cover is NFC, 4 pins is NFC + qi.
Ditto on ordering from iazybandit. Do it now because there's probably going to be a wait. I got in on round 1 and I'm hoping it will ship tomorrow.

Wireless Charging for Note 3?

Hey guys,
I am new to wireless charging and one of my colleague talks highly positive of the concept. Specially when at night, how easy it is to pick up the phone from the charging pad, surf for a while and put it back without the hassle of looking for the wire and plugging into the ports.
I have a note 3.. and planning to go for a sgp neo hybrid case.. will i be able to make use of the charging pad along with the neo hybrid case. I do understand that a custom case cover is needed for using the wireless charging kit.. which is provided by samsung for S4. but i think they still havent come up for N3.
Anyhow i've seen on various youtube videos that many a times third party cases also work with wirelss charging without the mod/hack. Anyone tried neo hybrid for n3 with their charging pads?
I have tested this with 3 different cases except the Spigen because I haven't received it yet but I don't think that this case will be the exception

Thanks for your reply, but what was the outcome? were u able to charge with the third party cases? Are the charging times same.. slower or faster.
With Samsung charging kit that includes the back cover and the pad, they claim that the charging is faster than conventional charging cos it charges at 600MAh's.
M8 QI has sensor at least my pad has so if it beeps and light goes green in pad no matter if I have the phone naked or in a case it charges with 640ma this charge my phone in 4 to 5 hours which occurs every night and I am fine. Imagine that I had put a plastic cap in bottom of phone to have the usb3 plug clean from dust.

Jerry thanks for your response and your the discount code. i will start reading the pros and cons of the charger.
Can you try to upload some pictures etc.. i like the 45 degree slant.. its like a dock.. that charges wirelessly.. instead of placing on a pad. Good stuff.
Pls try to put some reviews. If you can today i will place the order tonight.
The 45 degree needs inside the back cover I think 4 metal things and the base has magnets and that's how it stands. I have this http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=360732881624&globalID=EBAY-AU and is working fine, I had post a video also in the 1st wireless thread here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LaQQnc2dmU&feature=youtube_gdata_player that I demonstrate it

That's just your standard Qi charging pad. Won't work with your N3 unless you have the 'official' Samsung charging back plate, or you modify a receiver between your stock back plate, and battery.
In my experience,
With the samsung charging back plate, none of the standard N3 cases will fit on the phone anymore. It's because the back plate is thicker than the stock one.
With a receiver installed between the stock back plate and battery, it will bulge out. I don't like that either.

Another thing, the charger is a 1Amp charger, i believe for the N3 you need atleast 2Amp.

I am not sure if the N3 and S4 use the same charging technology, cos in this video below the guy is charging a S4 on the TYLT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5g2rVraB1g
The thing i like about tylt is that it has three coils for charging unlike one for others, where u dont have to find the sweet spot... and lay your phone to pickup the right spot for charging.. demo on this video

What I was trying to clarify, that even if you bought that charging stand, you'll need the wireless receiver on the phone itself.
That didn't seem clear to everyone on this thread.

That's only if you have the official Samsung charging back installed.
See this link;

The Note 3 does not support wireless charging unless you buy that back, or a receiver that goes between the battery and stock back plate.

Thanks for all the links.
I guess i understand about the receiver now. Just read the whole wireless charging thread on this section.
This is totally new to me, hence the confusion... the back cover you mentioned.. does it add bulk to the phone.. as in thickness?
Is there a way a single coil or some chip can be added to the current phone cover. I have verizon model.

Yes, the samsung wireless charging cover is thicker. Will add 2mm, therefore, all your cases won't fit. Including the Neo Hybrid.
You can get receiver that goes between the battery and cover, but from my experience, it makes the rear cover bulge a bit.

1) Samsung has a wireless charging back (wireless receiver built-in) that replaces the battery cover/back already on the phone.
It makes the phone too thick for a case (a bumper might work).
2) They also make a S-view flip cover that replaces the stock back and has the wireless receiver built-in, no additional case needed.
3) Aftermarket Qi receivers can be purchased on Amazon and eBay that are placed inside the stock back cover, and if they don't cause a significant bulge in the back you can use a normal case, but one with a TPU or silicone back is most likely to work.
4) If you have a Qi receiver from a Note 2 (or similar) you can modify it to work inside the stock back cover.
ALL of those methods will require a Qi transmitter, or charging pad.
At least one seller on Amazon is offering a kit with both the Qi insert & charging pad, about $30 when I last looked.

Adding the official samsung back cover with 2mm is not a big issue, but i dont wan to loose the phone protection without a neo hybrid.

I was looking at the video again, it doesnt look like attaching the receiver on your original cover has added any bulk or thickness right? Do you think it will fit the neo hybrid case.
Amazon has these receivers for 10 bucks or so.. i was planning to get one of these receivers and then get the TYLT pad for charging.. I was reading reviews accross various forums, and people are having high opinions about TYLT's features.

The cheap one may have been from eBay, or it's gone up.
Best price I see for a kit now is $48, http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Wire..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1382047175&sr=1-3
There is a $10 qi insert:
http://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Stan...1382048041&sr=1-19&keywords=note+3+qi+charger
plus a $20 charging pad:
http://www.amazon.com/DigiYes®-Stan...1382048041&sr=1-23&keywords=note+3+qi+charger
By the way, I ordered an insert from that seller, it said "in stock" but the expected delivery time was 24 to 43 days once I got the order in. It does seem like you should know that before ordering.

[VIDEO] HTC One Max - Wireless Charging - QI Standard

Well one of the things I missed the most after getting the HTC One Max was wireless charging. It'd be nice to have a case that made use of the Pogo pins or something else, but this will have to do for now. If someone knows of a better solution, please comment below.
Total cost was $16 for the a TPU case and wireless charging receiver pad with MicroUSB cable.
htc have a case that has a battery in built. it uses the pogo pins. certainly you are aware of this case?
That has a built in battery, not wireless charging or am I looking at the wrong one?

The WCP 700 by LG is one of my favorites since the pad is so big. I did remove the speaker from it cause the fully charged notice is annoying.
I wouldn't get the angled Google Orb all WCP 400. It's harder to find the right spot especially with a larger device.
The Nokia DT-900 can usually be found for a good price online. It isn't bad. Just don't get the vertical stand which is the DT-910.
Oh and the LG WCP-300 is affordable too.
If you want to pick these up locally and you might find the WCP-700 and 300 at Verizon. The Nokia DT-900 is probably at AT&T.

You know anywhere you can currently find one of these?
The link is sold out already and the other KR-Net QI receiver pads posted on amazon/ebay all have the cable coming out the opposite side of the connector (the usb cable would be coming up to the screen instead of behind the phone, once its plugged in).
I would like to combine this with my power flip case. A prong solution wouldn't be good for people already using a case that takes advantage of the prongs.
In general they are universal solutions. Here is a link to one:
http://goo.gl/pqG2du
Type B
I picked this one because the cord is shorter. As an update to the OP, the receiver finally gave out from changing cases quite a few times. The cord was so long that it had to be stuffed under the case.
Let us know how it works out when you get to try it.
Does anyone happen to know the pinout for the pogo pins on this phone? I just got one through work, and need to use usb connection frequently enough that I don't trust the connector on these. However, I have a dual layer Incipio case, and think it would be fairly easy to put the coil on the outside of the rubber portion, but under the plastic outer cover. Then use the pogo pins for the charging connection.

Qi Sticker

I ordered the Qi sticker from Ali Express and it has been working great. These are the same ones that others are selling on here and eBay. Here's the link if you want to get it yourself and save a few bucks.

What kind of charging rate are you seeing with this?
i have 3 of the stickers let if any one was looking for on and did not wanna wait 3 weeks for it to come in
Which chargers are you all using?
I have tried 4 so far and only the Nokia DT-900 works for me.
I tried an Incipio Ghost 100, PowerBot PB1020, and Anker Slim as well, but all kept reporting to put the phone in the hot zone and wouldnt charge it.
I've heard good things about TYLT, but can't see spending 50+ for a charger.
Thanks.

I like using a case on my phone. Does this card add any bulk? I purchased one for GS5 and wasn't happy with bulge it created.
I bought the sticker from ebay, installed but i really dont like how it work, i have to put the phone in the sweet spot to work ( probably could be the charger) but my nexus 5 charge from any angle.

Use a different Qi charging pad. The LG G3 is picky when it comes to charging pads.
I'm using this Qi sticker: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201154470247?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Only a buck more than the 1 from China, and it gets to you a lot faster. It's working fine, and is no thicker than the stock NFC sticker (which you need to pull / scrape out of the back before you install this one) so it adds no bulk.
I'm using it with these charging pucks:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6SPZWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESUC36M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They work fine. Positioning is a little bit sensitive, but it only took me a few tries to figure out the sweet spot.

[Q] Quick Circle with Qi / NFC official

I bought what I thought was an official quick circle case from a place called wackydot, and while qi works, nfc does not. I have contacted them, they sent a replacement and that one does exactly the same, qi, but no nfc. I believe the sticker is just off, however no amount of me fiddling will get it to make contact where nfc will work. I'm looking for a genuine Quick Circle case that has Qi and NFC, but all I keep finding is one from Verizon.. Will that work on a T-Mobile phone? Or does anyone know where I can get the official case that does both Qi / NFC? I love the case and phone, but I don't want to compromise one feature for the other. Thanks for any help you all can provide.
You could buy a replacement sticker with both qi and nfc for your wackydot case. It will show 4 pins instead of just 2. If your wackydot shows 4 pins and you still can't qi charge with it, it's broken.

Thats just it, qi works fine, its nfc that doesn't work.
Same problem, except that even 2 pin stickers enable nfc.
Either the quick circle case you received is defective, or your G3 is. If you G3 worked for nfc with the original back on, then return the wacky case for a replacement that works or your money back.
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
I bought the same case from Wackydot and until I saw this post, I didn't realize that my NFC didn't work either. I tried all my tags and have the same issue. I have a qi/nfc chip that I bought from izy on this forum and it worked great when installed with my Verizon back plate. This case from Wackydot has the same 4 pins and looks exactly like the chip I bought so I agree that it might be in the wrong location or is simply defective.

Qi Charging

I'm pretty sure the Sprint version doesn't support wireless charging. What is the best way. A sticker? Would I need to peel off the existing NFC sticker or would just buying a qi backplate from ebay be the better option?
With the stickers you replace the factory one, but I've read stories where you have to make sure the sticker is on perfect or it won't work. The replacement back cover would probably be the easiest way just a lot more expensive.

I just use the qi flip case from vzw
I ordered the sticker. It works great and was only $10.
Buy the sticker from China. It's ten bucks and does both charging and NFC. Works well. Just takes about three weeks to get it.

Can someone throw a link to the "sticker" i bought a qi charging pad on ebay and it cane with a flat reciever with pins u are suppose to lay in and put the battery cover over it for my s5 but it made the battery door bulge out too much for me. It killed the ipc rating because it pushed the gasket away on the battery door

I ordered Style 1 from aliexpress below. It is being delivered today (took two weeks). Apparently the price has gone up $1 since I ordered. I'll let you know how it works when I get home from work and get a chance to try it out.

So far results are not good. The sticker is easy to install, but my cheap QI charger from Amazon is not working with my phone. I need to try a beter wall plug that gives at least 2A. I'll update if I get it working or not.
I bought this one, and it works just fine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201154470247?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Scraping out the old one was a bit of a pain, but getting the new one aligned is very easy. The back has recesses that show you just where to install it.
I'm using it with this charger, and again no problems at all:

I was unable to get the Qi sticker from aliexpress to work with my phone. I tried it with two different Qi chargers and 8-10 wall plug/cord combinations. It would recognize the connection but keep giving errors about centering and such. Just to rule it out I tried the sticker from ebay linked above. This new sticker works great with both of the chargers (one of which is the one from amazon linked above) and all of the wall plug/cord combinations I have tried. The phone will even charge wirelessly through my case.
