[Q] Viper4Android FX not working - Galaxy Tab S Themes and Apps

just got exynos version of SM T705, rooted, busybox (stericsson) installed
viper4android doesn't work,
installed, granted root permission, when comes to installing drivers, it says something like wrong version of busybox.... check if fully rooted.
fyi i rooted this device with cf-autoroot, installed TWRP, checked with root checker, says my device is fully rooted.
anyone tried this app?

apparently some kind of driver issue and one guy says a method solves it but looks like thread died. here is the thread

thanks dude !

Hello guys, I try to get it on Lollipop. Have someone been on test of stuff from that thread please ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/themes-apps/viper4android-s6-edge-root-t3072183
I pass the installation, but nothing happens. Strange syndromes: Google Music Play says "Nothing to play", the system player says about not supported mp3 files as well
Cheers,
Marek

I am on stock. you dont need any special kernel.
As I know, Busybox is essential.
Good luck

For v4a and lolliop you will need a permissive kernel or the supersu policy in the general section otherwise it will not work.

Yea...on Lollipop you need a permisive kernel. Inhave Note Edge and Note 12.2 and Note 2014 10.1. .so I keep up with a lot. There is a fix though! Dr. Keten Viper Fix ...before I had found a permissive kernel I had the same problem, also my wife has the Note 4 stock rooted with LOLLIPOP... which I have rooted for her, she will not let me put a custom ROM on her phone so the stock rom does not have the permissive edits as well... this one app, fixed that problem with the lollipop kernel issues! You still need root and busybox, but it does work! Viper is essential!

[Beta][Marshmallow/6.0][XT1575/1572] Systemless Root

Systemless Root
Read this first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63197935&postcount=2
To summarize:
This is an experimental root process
[*]It needs an unlocked bootloader
[*]It needs the system to have no trace of any other superuser solutions
[*]This will patch the kernel RAMDisk to include the su binary
[*]Following that, all calls to execute commands as root will be handled from here
[*]This means no system partition modification
[*]This also means Android Pay works
[*]Since this is experimental, expect apps with hardcoded su calls to not work (blame the app developer)
[*]Also, there are bugs as Chainfire stated but it's been stable up until now
[*]I have not tried this on the XT1572 but it should work
Click to collapse
IMPORTANT!
You need to revert to completely stock/clean marshmallow without any SuperSU installed.
Installation Instructions:
Install the kernel patch - systemless_root.zip
Install SuperSU (systemless) - SuperSU v2.56
DO NOT INSTALL ANY OTHER SUPERSU MODULES
IGNORE ANY TWRP MESSAGES ABOUT SUPERSU or SU in general

Yeah...really should tidy up your instructions. Tons of stuff to wade through in that link thread. No "clark" for our phone. Also, a layman's, two-sentence overview of what this is and does may be helpful to many. Thanks!

Apologies...as you know, many people try to get credit for work they didn't do (I'm obviously not a fan of that and let it get the best of me). It just looked odd since there was only a link to the original thread until just now. Again, apologies for jumping to conclusions and thanks for the work.
I couldn't find any info anywhere how does systemless root benefit vs regular root by using the modified boot image? thanks!

Sorry about that. I saw [WIP] as the thread title and no download links in the OP and assumed this was another "I'm first to start working on it but have nothing to share" thread that pop up all over XDA and immediately get closed.

From what I understand it allows you to root your phone without making any modifications to /system. So when a OTA is released you flash the stock kernel and accept the OTA. This assumes you've made no changes to /system once you gained root.
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
It's working great, I had to reinstall superSU from the play store as it was not showing up in the app drawer. Everything is working.
@alnikki25k BTW. Congratulation on the brilliant idea and implementation of a script that make the systemless root changes to the kernel, could this be used with another device?

worked so far.. flashed the stock odexed no root. rebooted and did quick gmail setup. Went back to TWRP and flashed the files for the kernel and SuperSU. When prompted by TWRP to install SuperSU after flashing the files I said do not install per instructions. Booted up and restoring with titanium as I type.
Next question would be if anyone was able to get xposed working with systemless root? Probably not going to take that plunge since I got root mainly for titanium and ad blocker.
Edit. All apps back. Running good. Not trying xposed yet. Android pay loaded no problem. Added cards no problem. Doing good so far
Tested on XT1572 , everything works flawlessly except es file explorer unable to request for su permission for some reason.
Thanks again for this

97[rom][deodexed][7.0][debloated to the bone]

Heavily debloated June patch DEODEXED Nougat ROM for SM-G920F/I only.
Alpha testing done -> Beta testing done.:
https://t.me/joinchat/AAAAAEE0OTF3tCPa_lpEMw
There won't be much info here yet. If it turns out to be working, then this post will be updated.
I've been running this ROM for 2 days straight, and have 0 issues. I started to make this ROM for my self, but decided to share it anyways.
Feel free to test it out, just be aware, that your favorite apk most likely didn't make the debloat-cut. That said, the footprint of the rom, is around 1G.
I take no responsibility, if you decide to flash this.
#BUGS#
Aroma can sometimes stop in the extracting process.
Just reboot, and try again, then all is fine.
Please report back here or in the group.

According forum rule #11, it's ok.
It's always great to see new roms,I really don't like all these mods and ports and what not and have always preferred debloated roms so thanks for building this, il be giving this rom a go once I've backed things up.

Dolby Atmos Axon 7 Oreo Port

https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-dolby-atmos-axon-7-oreo-port-t3740508
Sadly doesn't work on PNW as of now.
I kept trying every combination of settings to flash this and different builds and either the Dolby app crashes and audio doesn't work (because of the installer not finding a root solution) or it flashes successfully but met with a bootloop. If anyone gets it to work, let me know!
Please raise any issues in the thread linked in the OP, not here. Thanks.

Original thread states SDK 26 (Oreo) as a requirement.

Works on my mi a1 with Oreo.
You don't have to download to PC first, just mount system before flashing with twrp.
Thanks, I get work it with last version of PNW and Hellsgate kernel, making a clean install and installing supersu before, with magisk don't work for me.
May you have to use selinux permissive module for magisk.

Supposed to have made backup of kernel before flashing. Did you do?, Then just restore that backup.
I just tried flashing this with magisk and it said it installed, but is there an easy way to actually tell if it worked? I'm just trying to get viper4android to work to hopefully get around the dreadfully quiet headphone volume.

Thanks! Looks like it did install, but for some reason, the viper4android driver just won't install. Every time I open the app it keeps having me reinstall it, then when I reboot it just says I need to install it again. I'm wondering if it's specific to honor or the 7x since I can't seem to find anyone who's having similar issues.

It looks like the mate 10 is having the same issues, but after trying my headphones with the new kernel, it looks like the gain isn't limited to a super low volume like it was before! I'm not sure if this is just a placebo effect or if it actually solved the headphone volume issue, but I am hoping that was the fix I needed.
Has anyone tried this on Mate SE?

Have you tried any of the suggestions on the v4a xda thread. Like removing the stock audio overlay (xml) file first.
I keep seeing people say it will not work because selinux, or because of 64 bit drivers, then you go look at the xda thread, and see many (some) people saying it works for them.
If you are having the permissive setting working correct, then tell me if the guide on this link is working?

[Guide] [ONEUI] HOW TO INSTALL GOOD LOCK APPS!

Pre-requistes:
Must be Rooted
Lucky Patcher
Download and Install Lucky Patcher and give it the root access.
For Android 9 Pie only
Navigate to toolbox and then patch to android.
Among three green options tick only the third
"Disable signature verification in the package manager"
Then press apply.
Wait a while and it reboots itself.
For OneUi 2 / Android 10
Install Edxposed (search in xda)
Then activate Lucky patcher in Edxposed Manager --- Reboot
Open Lucky Patcher -- Hamburger Menu -- Xposed settings-- activate all expect hide lucky patcher
After that install files from here
https://mega.nz/#!3p1XhC7R!ZIsiJLjJS5g6jT7xaP6gkWgcE0hCRa6vTeVFIj0bvHM
Incase you need to update modules, use nice lock and nice lock downloader.
You need to modify the downloaded apks. For that, open lucky patcher and navigate to "rebuild and install" then navigate to the location you've downloaded the apk most probably to sdcard--- download
Then click on the apk, select "rebuild" on the pop then finally "resign with test signature".
Now finally you can install the apk. You must repeat the process for each apk and after each update. Yes, it's a pain.
This method works for any Samsung device in which sideloading apk does nothing.
Now you're ready to roar.
