[Feature Request] Floating window/Hover - Paranoid Android Features Development

Hi guys,
since I didn't found any way to do so, I wanted to ask if it's possible to implement a way to fully disable floating windows, but keep the hover notification system. Also a way to exclude non clear-able notification from hover.
Greets

Another feature that I think would come in handy is swiping away a floating window/hover notification.
What I find annoying is that hover notif appears for approx 5 sec (too long if you ask me, would like to adjust it) and then disappars and sometimes I forget about them :///

I didn't ask to remove it, I asked for a way to personally disable it in settings.

You mean swiping the away that "hover window", but don't swipe away the notification itself?
That would be nice too.

I thought about a possibility of swiping both od them, floating window and hover notification.

Any way to show notifications from the bottom up?

Coming from phones with smaller screens, I like to be able to drag down the notification bar enough to see who the email is from or what the notification is about, without having to pull it all the way down and back up. With the bigger screen on the EVO LTE, I'm wondering if there is a way to show the notifications starting at the bottom, so I can see them with only a slight pull on the bar, instead of having to drag all the way down.
Anyone know? Don't think it matters, but I'm on Meanrom 1.4 with S-Off.
THANKS
When CM9 or 10 is available to us you can enable tablet mode and it will place your notification bar on the bottom.

You can just flick the notification bar down, you don't have to drag it the full length of the screen. All it takes is about the width of the bar itself to send it down or back up. I know that's not an answer to your question, but it's an option.

Figure I'd bump this rather than start a new thread. I'd also love to be able to have the notification bar at the bottom of the screen, within easy reach of my thumb without requiring me to fumble with the phone. Is there any sort of standalone mod that will do this while I'm waiting for ParanoidAndroid to eventually (hopefully) make its way to the EVO LTE.
There is a WIP paranoid android ROM in the original development section. Works great and loving the ROM.

Well hey look at that! Thanks for the heads up -- I must've completely missed it.
You could also use a custom launcher and set the 1 finger pull-down to open the notification menu. Though trying to reach the settings and clear button are still impossible unless you have fingers like ET.

Yeah - I've already got it so that it pulls down with a quick swipe. My problem is the location of the Power Controls and the Clear button.
I tried PA on my phone but I didn't like the implementation; it's much better on my n7. Even at the biggest settings, the notification panel is just too small on the Evo.
All I really want is a perfect vertical mirror of the notification bar as it is now. In other words, still full screen, it just swipes upward and all the buttons are at the bottom of the screen. I'm actually a little surprised it's not an existing mod / feature, considering how many massive phones there are now and how many of us don't have spindly alien fingers.

how to have expanded notifications by default?

having expanded notifications is hit or miss... even when nothing else is there, I'll get the small version. I want the full one of my music, of my scrrenshot especially so i can hit send etc.. i always have to manually expand them.. sometimes they're expanded on their own. there's no rhyme or reason from what I can tell. how can we get them to always be expanded?

behavior
That is a pretty odd behavior. My first week I noticed the extended preview of messages, but now it seems that they are always the sheet version. I wonder if dumping app storage would rejuvenate the experience.
On aosp all you had to do was swipe down on any collapse notification to give the expanded version. On sense it apparently doesn't work that way and I've yet to find a way to get to expanded other than the top most notification.

You can pinch to expand or shrink the notifications. Supposed to be the same motion in 4.1+.
i figured out why it doesn't do it...
because of that stupid WIFI nag! when you do the trick to temp get rid of it (hold it down, hit app info, force close), then every first notification that defaults to the top IS expanded, every time. now i need to root to get rid of that nag!

S-pen gesture app

i have not tried it yet but i will be trying it out soon.
just thought with AOSP rom hitting our forum and loosing a lot of spen functions this would come in handy.

i will report back after i play with it a bit.
i take no credit in finding this app. a fellow member (guthrien) turned me on to it. THANKS
I have this app and love it. Even on tw ROMs I like it cause I have a bunch of gestures set up. No more gesture to get a box to gesture bs. It also has 5 launch pads, one center and one from each edge of the screen. Got my bottom launchpad set up like I had my nav bar set on my galaxy nexus. It does still have some conflicting issues with default s pen functions, like the default swipe from edge of screen to switch to next app makes it take a screenshot to draw on, but I solved that by turning them off and creating my own gesture to switch app. The dev is always quick to respond and says he is working on solving the conflicting issues but i use his guesture app for my tablet and have have a few conversations with him and was helpful.I highly recommend the app..

The box he is referring to is when you hold button on spen and draw a line straight up. A quick comand box pops up. There is only a few gestures anyway witch is why you need this app. You can set a gesture for anything

Lockscreen Shortcut Question

When a new text message message comes in, it shows up on the lockscreen. There's a way to touch something on the lockscreen to take you straight to that message. I did it a few times but i can't figure out what i did. I know you can swipe up from the messaging icon at the bottom, but that just takes you to the messaging app, not the one that's being shown...
Its so frustrating... I know there's a way... A tap in the right spot, a swipe in the right spot... i just can figure it out..
I think i may have figured it out...
I think it may be a double tap.
Double tap doesnt work for me...
What does work, is a single tap on the mesage notification on the lock screen.....
That opens up a huge lined box underneath. .....
Swipe in that box, it takes you right to that message. ....even if you have other message threads.
Good luck

I get a huge white box, but otherwise the same.
After you tap the notification box ,then you swipe inside the huge box. .
Straight to the message.
Good luck

J Touch or other navigation apps

I like to hide my navigation buttons to take advantage of the entire screen. I've been using J Touch as my navigation, swipe up for recent apps, left to go back, down for notifications, and double tap for home.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bs.smarttouch.gp
I've also tried Foo view but didn't like that I couldn't map swipe up to something else besides the apps settings.
Anyone use anything similar, or some type of gesture app for navigation?

This is really good, thanks for mentioning it.
I'm using a fingerprint app that reads a registered finger as back and an unregistered finger as home. Haven't come up with a good way to do recents though....

Weirdly, it's actually a component of a larger app called "Gravity Screen", made to turn your screen on/off automatically when it goes into your pocket or a table. It has a separate part for fingerprint gestures and they seem to work really well, so that's what I've been using.

There is an app called Finger Scanner Gestures that adds similar functionality
