hd2 stuck in reboot

I"ve got a wanted ad on craigslist for HD2's and this guy called me yesterday. We had arranged a meet for today but he called me before we were supposed to meet and said he was trying to get all of his files off of it before he sold it and he got it stuck in a reboot. Is this an easy fix? It's for a good deal. He said it's not hacked, and he didn't know about putting android on it. So I am waiting on him to get it out of the reboot. As far as I know it's a fully stock, unmodified phone. Should I still get it? I'm going to put android on it and delete windows all together, but I haven't heard of this problem. THanks!

How to make 101 IT better?

I have one of these that i thought i threw away. The second week i got it I turned the volume up and the speakers quit playing. Had to keep it tho because I bought it out of state and the original box and receipt was in storage. Had alot going on that day. Anyway, she found it again last night and now wants to use it as her database for the FF draft party this saturday. Right now it is completely stock with the latest OTA installed. My question is how can I make it better but still retain MOST of the original functionality. She currently has a Gnex thats flashed and rom'd and she loves it. This tablet on the other hand is not and she STILL TO THIS DAY considers it one of her favorite Christmas presents. Sad thing is, I know I have done better than that. I even tried to "impulse" buy her a Nexus 7 last night.
"Why would I want that? Mine has a bigger screen and it STILL WORKS."
Now you see where I'm at
TIA Everything I'm seeing so far is Everywhere and I dont know where to start. I looked through the stickys but they haven't been updated since like April. Thanks In Advance Guys!
This can be closed. About to boot into Urukdroid 1.6 now

[Q] Stratosphere Recovery Help

So a few months ago, I decided to root my stratosphere and it worked! Then I got a little cocky as it was my first time rooting a phone. It wasn't my main phone so that's why I decided to sacrifice it. I downloaded an app that would remove the bloatware and it did just that, but I messed up and had it delete some apps that are apparently pretty important... like setup wizard among many other things. So basically, I'm just trying to get this to work now. The only computer I have is a Macbook Pro running OS X, so Odin isn't an easy option for me, I do have Heimdall but I honestly can't understand how to use it right now... Can anyone lead me in the right direction to fix this problem?

motorola Citrus need help

so let me tell you a story that took place a long time ago in a place not so far away.
in the area of 5 years ago, i think, the magical fatman, before he was magical, rooted his motorola citrus and did so perfectly. in doing so he got cocky and thought he could delete any thing could he wanted bet android felt how was being defaced and quit working to protect herself. the fatman did a factory reset thinking it would force android to return to her former self but forgot that he read not to. so even now 5 years later i sit still looking for a flashable rom for my friend. i can not give up on technology, and it is time to ask for help. the phone will do everything up to the click the android screen.

Would appreciate some input...trying to let a friend activate Jewel on her account.

tl;dr ...HTC EVO LTE unlocked via HTCdev and running CM11 needs to be activated on another Sprint subscriber's account. What should I do to make sure that goes smoothly in the next few hours?
long version:
Good friend of mine just got back from a trip to SE Asia and lost her phone. She's back in good 'ol murica now and needs a handset pronto, but miraculously she's taking my advice and holding off on walking into Sprint and leaving with whatever is there, so she can shop around online and find a better deal.
I currently have an HTC Hero, HTC Evo LTE, and LG G3 that are just backup devices to screw around with, so I can lend one to the cause. The Hero just ain't gonna fly, and the G3 is my primary backup and would rather not lend her that one if possible. That leaves Jewel. Mine is unlocked via HTC Dev and currently running CM. I called up the store we'd be going to just to make sure they didn't get weird about the fact that the bootloader is unlocked for whatever reason, to which they replied that as long as it was originally a Sprint phone (check) and still had its SIM card (check), then they'd be fine with trying to activate it. The fella was more worried about being able to successfully activate it than anything else.
This brings me to my question: has anyone done something similar? Ideally, I'd just do a full wipe and bring it in ready to go, but I'm curious about possible technical issues with the fact it is running CM. Should I flash a ROM based on the latest version of Sense or is that unnecessary? What other things might I keep in mind? I want her to be able to have a phone for a week or however long it takes her to get a good one, then deactivate it so I can resume using it as a project device. It'd be great to just restore a TWRP backup after I get the phone back and be right where I left off.
Usually I find these things aren't as simple though. I don't know when sleeping beauty is going to wake up from jetlag hell since on her schedule it feels like 4am right now (its almost 2pm CST at time of posting), but I'm hoping to get some advice on how to properly proceed in the next few hours here.
I'm just spit balling but I would imagine it would have to be a stock Sprint rom in order for them to be able to activate it.

Yup....
I should be more than a bit embarrassed right now, but given how ludicrous the whole situation was a few minutes ago in the store, now it's just funny. Suffice to say, my friend is still without a phone. Silver lining is that I can see the path out and think I can deliver on this as soon as I get home and get some time. Will update later of course!
