Can't install es file explorer - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi all.
I installed ultra Xperia revolution 2.0 the other day. ES FE was bundled with Aroma installer, but after installation, ES FE was not installed. I had the app backed up with titanium, but i can't restore it. I also tried installing from Google play, but got an error message (see screenshot).
Any suggestion on how to get this app installed?

Try going to settings > apps > Download manager > Clear data.
If that doesn't work : In the internal storage go to data/data and search for es file explorer related file and delete that.
Hope your issue gets resolved with this.

remnants of deleted apps

I used the BlueMonkey theme by Jivy26, however I didn't like the GoSMSPro. I deleted the app via titanium backup, and used File Explorer to confirm it was deleted. However, it still shows up as being installed in the market place and I have the icon in my app list (although it says the application is not installed on my phone) How do I manusally remove the icon from the app list?

I guess the best thing to do is to reinstall the app and uninstall from the task manager or go to settings-applications and uninstall from there.

i have tried that actually...it just uninstalls forever, and never actually deletes it.

Make sure that the app is not running in the background or as a service.
Reboot the phone and go into settings>applications>running
services and see if you can find the offending app there.
If you can find it there, click on it and select STOP".
Then if all goes well you will be able to do a complete unistall.
Not running as a service =\ Is there a place where those icons are located on the phone itself? I could delete it through root explorer if I could find it.

icons for applications are stored within the apk itself....if the apk is gone, the app is gone.
try uninstalling them and then wipe cache/dalvik cache in CWM

If you know how to use root explorer to delete files
you can go into root of phone /system/apps and find
the offending APK name and delete with root explorer.
Some apps will have a "com." before the actual app name
so look for that too.
Good luck!

[Q] Couldn't install application? -.-" Out of Space

Hi
Recently I uninstalled PowerAmp. However, when I tried to reinstall an upgraded version of it, I can't as the installer came out with the out of space error. However, the problem is that I have enough space in my phone. (Confirm have space one). I also tried installing different versions of the apk but it still doesn't work. Other bigger apps apk work fine except all the different version of PowerAmp.
Here's a catlog at the bottom.
Hi. Exact Same problem here

Go to data/app, delete com.maxmzp(poweramp) ...... something along that line. I can't remember the full name. So find the filename in data/app that has the same app as what you're trying to install
Root explorer
Go to /data/app
Del this line
com.maxmpz.audioplayer-1.odex
I have the same issue but with maildroid.
Any suggestions?

Uninstall whatever installed maildroid.
Delete maildroid.odex located in data/app.
Reinstall ...Done.
To everyone asking what to do with other apps. If you did a patch to that app, there might be a .Odex created in data /app as said above. Just go there and delete it.
Applies to ALL APPS

go to your File Manager and select your Ext. SDcard. delete some unused and unnecessary files to free the space on your ext. sdcard. Install it again, it will work.

[Q] Apps form the market doesn't download

Hi there,am running BEASTSense ROM on HTC Hero. When am trying download from the market it doesn't download. It says your app will be download and that's it. Does anybody knows the answer of that annoying thing ? Reflash the rom doesn't help.
Thanks.
It sounds like you are trying to download the app from the Play Store Webpage..
If that is the case, then after a new flash you need to download at least one app through the market on your phone in order to "link" your phone and the play store account, after which you can close and reopen the play store twice in order for the app to update itself to the latest version.
when it reopens as Play Store and you agree the terms and conditions, it should then work online on the webpage .. or try download another app to link it and try again
The rom I'm running is with market app instaled.Doesn't wont update to google play. If I try install it says "there is a problem with installing the package". Anyway will change the rom probably. Thanks
I have the same issue as the guy in OP, the downloading app just hangs in there in the status bar
Have you tried to wipe market data and cache in Manage Applications. You could try to flash or push an updated market App to replace your current app if you feel the app is broken.. Paraphrasing Icebox from his thread..
You will need to find the market apk you want to push (i guess that's from Froyo version) and copy/paste it into /system/app by using a file manager that has root access - Es File Explorer is great for this but you'll need to grant root access from Settings (Es File Explorer settings that is) and then perform the copy/paste action in /system/app.
The market is named Vending.apk and the one you'll copy should need to have the same name.. ..
Good luck, or try a different Rom.. etc

[Fix]Google Play/market “Unknown error code during application install: -24

Fix for Google Play/market “Unknown error code during application install:’-24”"
This error usually comes up when you are trying to reinstall an app and it fails to install.
*Requires Root*
Go into Data/data and find the folder/file referring to that app and delete it
Also go to Data/app-lib and do the same (if it is there).
Chances are it is probably only in one location but check both. Usually what this will look like is a bunch of folders in there and the one you are having problems with will look like a file instead – regardless delete the folder/file for that app and then go to google play and it will install.
Also this will work for most TB issues as well but you may have to download the app and restore data only, I have had some work back restoring the app and then restoring data but more luck with just a fresh app from the market.
Many people have reported that this also works for them, just wanted to add it to the help and troubleshooting section.
Working solution of error 24
Method 1 (Sure Fix but requires root):
Install a file manager like Root Manager
Browse to internal storage android/data/com.whatsapp
Delete the com.whatsapp… folder
Now install whatsapp from Google Play

Thanks I fixed mine, my "-24" error came up after I try to restore my GS3. In order to get the install to go through you have to delete the existing folder of the associated app first
Root Manager > Root/data/user/0 > find any app folder you are having trouble installing (the name is either by app name or maker's name > confirm & delete.
try to reinstall the app from Play Store and it should work. (In my case I think it's because i have a list of apps from my other acct and during the restore session somehow the Play Store was confused and couldn't verify the app install.)
thanks worked fine.
i face this issue whnever i clean dalvik cache thrugh Link2SD plus

Successfull rooted but cant mount apps to system apps

Hey there
So i rooted my phone with TWRP (+ Data Wipe/Factory Reset)), installed Magisk, Magisk manager and phh's Superuser (all with the newest version of each).
Root Checker says im root, hide Magisk works like a dream but even with superuser access i cant transfer apps to the system apps... did i missed something? how can i fix this?
If i try to change the system from RO to RW with ES File Explorer for example it is back to RO when i recheck it... but i can copy apk files with the es Explorer to system >app and after a reboot the app is installed and can only be deactivated, not uninstalled... but i cant use the features of the app that i should have with the app as system app
All the other apps that can install apps directly as system apps tell me that they cant mount system partition as r/w
Thanks for your time and answer
Greetings
