andorid system process high cpu usage - HTC Desire 601

Hello !
I have htc 601 stock rom 4.4.2 sence 5.5 + root
Very often I have fast battery drain. As I saw using OS monitor app
when "android system process" has high cpu usage (value after 20)
the phone get warmer and battery drain very quick.
I don't have any automatic backups, sync, no location allow.
How can I resolve my problem, cause the only solution that i found
is to reboot the phone.
There is a screenshot here
bit.ly /1q6vi2e
Thanks in advance !

Anyone any idea ?
The problem ocures couple of times for one day.

It's a problem with the recent Google Play Services update. It keeps your phone awake. Uninstall the updates to play services, G+, gmail, and Google search (these require the play services update to run). My phone has been running great since I did this.

I do it for all google apps - maps, gmail, drive, text to speach, translate and etc
but on google play service "uninsal updates"is in gray (not active)

Huh, then I'm not sure, that's the first one I uninstalled.

Can u tell what is your version?
I will try to find over the inet or if u could send it to
may be with titanium ?

You are using 4.4.2 kitkat right, not lower version?

Can you send me your version ?
It is located on /data/app (may be root browser or other file explorer)
cause I cannot find exactly the same version.
I have now 4.3.23

I'm not rooted.

My version of Google Play service now is 4.3.23
and I have uninstall updates button.
If the problem occurs again I will try deinstalling the updates.
If doesn't help may be should try to change the kernel, cause when I root
the phone, the rooting procedure requires another kernel.

Your version is older than mine, should be fine.

I think that the "key"is not google play services. Now I am using 4.3 or 4.0.3 but
I have disabled the htc.checkin service. I think that it cause the problems.
After few day I will give correct answer.

How do you uninstall Google play services?. Checkin services is driving me nuts

If it's the check in service that would be an easier fix maybe.

i was able to disable checkin service through android tuner.
swipe from the left to the right and select application manager.
then select "Google Play Services" and click on manage.
next click on permissions.
there should be tabs on the top, click on "Services".
from there disable the following:
-anything that says "checkin"
-anything that says "ads"
-anything that says "analytics"
-anything that says "com.google.android.location.reporting" (though i keep these on and i believe it's optional if you want them)
found this out while trying to figure out how to disable the wakelock problem on my phone that was keeping it on and draining the batt.

Do I need root for that, I haven't rooted this phone yet.

[Q] Android Market icon not there ? help

I need some urgent help .. I bought Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100( with gingerbread) 5 days ago in china .. as i live in china .. unfortunately , i found that there is no Android market icon , and therefore i cannot access market.android.com .. i googled and found there is no way that you can get it installed unless you go to the manufacturer , which i did , only to be disappointed... ( forget help, the customer care people , dont even understand the problem .. ) ... so i downloaded the android market .apk file 3.0.26 from a different source to my computer and then to the device and installed it .. since i am new user , i am not permitter to post outside link but the source is adroid devices dot com (with no spaces)
but now when i open the application it asks the device needs to be registered and would you want to register it .. i click yes and thats when it "exits" the application .. i am not able to do anything with this app ..
I am wondering if anyone can help me here ..
thanks

Yes.. It is.. First some reason Google renamed the Android Market, but Google play.. But everything is saved from when it was Android market. All you need is your Google email and password.

Market has been Updated
The android market has been Updated to google play store. There should now be an icon called Play store on your device.
And if you use "Go Launcher Ex (deutsch)" there is a new update, that will fix the missing (new) icon of the market.
I had some trouble too, but now everything is fine.
BUT now i got this annoying freeze problem again in the market
Here is what i found out about installing Android Market (or Google Play, Changed name but it is the same thing) on my Galaxy S2 i9100G.
I've been searching all around the web to try to fix it.
It is still not working for me, but i got a little bit farther though.
I actually found the hint on a Kindle thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351283
So what i did and what you can try is:
1) Install GoogleServicesFramework.apk
This seems to be the issue, as when you install it you can see the permissions Google requires, and pretty much says the can access ALL the data in your phone. (It would explain the censorship)
2) Install Android Market with any .apk you can find (google play apk also works)
3) Launch Android Market (or google play, anyway you get the update first time after you loggin)
Logging with only my wifi connection in some how didn't work, i had to turn on the APN to get sign in.
I HOW NOW ACCESS TO ANDROID MARKET !!! ON A CHINESE ROM !!!
But not so fast. I have access to the market, but i get an error when downloading an app (error 101). So it is still not working, but getting closer. I sent an e-mail to google to see if they can fix this (seems my account and my device are still not linked). Waiting for the reply...
Cheers

App to Not Let Apps Detect Root?

My work makes Good For Enterprise available to us, so we can get our email and calendar info. Unfortunately, it can determine if the phone is rooted and refuse to run.
Is there a way to hide root from an app? I mainly want to be able to use Titanium Backup to freeze my AT&T bloatware and run Adfree, but if I want to be able to check my work calendar, I have to be running totally stock.

Just have a look in /system/app. I think you can still view this folder even if you're not rooted. (but to move anything OUT of it, you WILL need root)
If the folder contains "SevenEngine.apk", (which is the .apk for Social Hub) then even if it "wasn't pre-installed", then it's there.
That file, once moved out, will remove the "Play Store" entry entirely.
Worked for me. I had it frozen with Titanium Backup before, but this stupid MTC app showed up today. I'm guessing Google updated something on their end to make market links more persistent.
Once I moved SevenEngine.apk out of /system/app, the Russian MTC market entry saying it had an update disappeared.
Of course, if you actually use Social Hub, then this is probably not ideal for you.
EDIT to add: see this post on another thread about this problem. May work for those not rooted. At least, until Market gets re-updated to the current version of "Play Store".

This does indeed work, deleted SevenEngine.apk & now it is no longer asking for an update.
I am on a non-rooted SGS2 and have cleared the MTC Russian update from appearing. All I did was clear the cache for the Play Store via Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Google Play Store>Clear cache.

[HELP] Maps can't find location since upgrade to latest Google Play Services (v 4.3)

Hi,
I need some help here.
After the update to Google Play Services v4.3 (latest version to date), Maps can't find location anymore without GPS, it remains stuck on "Waiting for location" despite having wifi or data on.
When I revert back to Google Play Services v4.2, the issue disappears and Maps behaves again normally.
The problem is that I need the latest version of Google Play Services for streaming videos with my phone to Chromecast (and in any case, Google Play Services will auto update to the latest version).
Anyone having the same issue with Google Play Services v4.3 ?
Any idea how to fix this ?
Many thanks in advance
(I'm running with a SGS3 with miui rom based on stock 4.1.1)

Thanks, but I had done this already.
And turning GPS on is not my purpose... I want location based on Wi-Fi, or data.
The issue when using Google play service v 4.3 is that when I switch ON the location button via network, I don't have the black popup asking me to confirm (a popup that would always be there when using previous versions of google play service)
I've been trying to solve this for days... I'm a bit desperate

That's what I do already.
But that's my point.
When I come back to Google play services v4.2, then I can't use a number of new apps designed for Chromecast...
So :
- I want to be able to use Google play services v4.3 without losing the ability to find my location in Maps
- I wonder whether I'm the only one facing this bug, or if it is specific to my device/rom

I cannot uninstall system apps even after I ROOTED my android phone

Hi everyone
I managed to root my android phone yesterday (I checked with 2 root-checker apps). Now I'm having trouble removing pre-installed apps like Twitter and Yellow Pages which I never use. I tried few uninstall apps, and after granting them permission from SuperUS, they perform an uninstall (some apps do it forcefully) and give a message that the apps were deleted. The apps are not removed from my application list but when I click on it to run, they give an error message. But when I restart my phone, those apps I deleted start working again as if nothing happened.
What I'm I doing wrong? My phone is HTC One M8, android.
Thank you for any help

I just tried it now but same problem. I select twitter to delete. It gives me a message that uninstall was successful. I check to see if it's listed on my home page, and it is although when I click on it, it gives an error message. However after restarting the phone, twitter somehow recovers and works again!!! Really strange. It's as if it wasn't uninstalled to begin with.

You need to remove read / write protection. You can do this most easily by flashing a modded kernel (boot.img) through fastboot. Alternatively, there's custom roms that have this already or you can mod a kernel module. There's a guide in the General section of your phone's forum. If you go that route, make sure that the module is compatible with the update you're on as the guide might be outdated.
