Yeah, that happened to my phone too. Take out the battery and see if it's swollen up. If you've been using this battery for 1-2 years, it's probably time to replace it. If it is swollen up, try not to use it anymore, it may be dangerous.
And to prevent your new battery from dying so fast, try not to charge your phone while you're using it.

[HELP] Random battery drain, serious problem

I've been really happy with the battery life of the s2, however every now and again the phone randomly reboots and I lose as much as 10%+ battery instantaneously.
In one instance I lost about 80% or so as soon as I took it off charge!! I'm not sure what is causing this but would be grateful if anyone knows a solution or is having the same problem.
There's a few screen shots below to highlight the problem.

I am having the same problem.
that looks bad..
have you tried something like...completely draining the batt, then while keeping the phone off, charge it back up to 100%?
Multiple battery posts on here read them .
One such is here and plenty more .

Thank-you people. I have tried a full drain once, but I may well try that again. It seems to be ok lately but I will keep an eye on it.

this happens to me all the time....not exactly same but similar...I have android on my touchpad..whenever i dont charge it untill the battery dies...and i try to charge it again..it show me same screen...boots for a sec..then sticks at 1%....
I don't know about your case...but if you android on it..then try charging it on the WebOS....if it never boots up again then return it.....or talk to HP..someone is Classicnerd IRC got it repaired for free recently...
Turns out I have to use the Hp charger. Got it up and running. Now I will stick android on utility as I don't know anything about web Os. Thanks!

Yes, when it gets that low, you HAVE to use an HP plug to charge it. Otherwise, you sit there and play plug-unplug for about fourty-five minutes or more to get enough juice in it to boot it into Android and charge it.

How long does it last with data turned off?
Tapped on a not-so-stock ST27i ICS.

Looks like your screen is eating a lot of battery.
Try reducing the brightness to minimum.
Also the OS on your phone takes some time to set itself up so wait a days or two and then check it again.
Also there have already been many threads adressing the same issue, starting a new thread without searching is not a healthy habit.

I can highly recommend greenify (when you have root access). It can solve a lot of battery drain problems, due to stopping unwanted backup processes from running.

[ask] charging problem

help guys i can't charge my phone in the OFF position, when i plug the charger on the phone, my phone ON again and start charging, i using miui v5 14.1.17 in my ktouch lotus 2 (titanium s1 , kiss u86),
so, I always charge my phone in ON position, whether it shortens the life of my battery? any help will be appreciated!!
From my own personal experience, charging while the phone is on should be no problem at all. The only thing that could cause trouble is if you use it frequently while it is charging.
oke thanks, phenom2122
but anysolution regarding my question above? whether the problem is in the kernel? or what?
sorry for my bad english, i use gtranslate
I would have to say yes, although that is an educated guess. Does it boot up completely all by itself when you plug it in? There was a trick to do this with Nokia smartphones. So when you plug it in, it does boot up certain services..
I would suggest that you look for information on MIUI in particular, it will have something to do with them. Or if you are comfortable with it, try a custom kernel.
Solved
program solved
just add this to build.prop
