Locking the boot loader doesn't turn s-on... I don't think you have to relock the boot loader to ruu I didn't... Just reflash your unlock toke .

go into recover and wipe data, flash a new rom, and try that,
maybe this link/guide will help you with manually flashing the RUU

Can you get into recovery if so I would wipe everything other then your SD card don't wipe it..
Relock your phone and download the RUU 2.17 exe latest radios and so on use it updated and then reapply the unlock code flash recovery and your back on track..
NANDROID,NANDROID, AND NANDROID!!!!!!!
That might be the simplest most important thing to do.
Yes, I still can get in to recovery.
Okay, but If I relocked the boot loader, it will shows "Re-locked" ?
Thank you
@gilbydakid
yes, I will keep that in mind. thank you

Did you HTC Dev unlock the bootloader? If so you have to relock it first.

[Q] EVO 3D Bootloader acting funny (SOLVED)

Hi,
I already had an unlocked bootloader but I installed a ROM that updated my HBOOT to 1.58 LOCKED. Now I was trying to wipe that with a super wipe and now I'm stuck being unable to get to the recovery (it just brings me back to the bootloader) and my normal start up is stuck at the HTC logo. Can anybody tell me what I should do? What direction I should go into fixing this? I already had s-off from before.
Thank you.

You probably don't have recovery. There are many threads on "how to install recovery"..Also, you have this: (It works on both CDMA - which you have, I suppose, and GSM)
Also, you have some interesting stuff HERE
What pro said. Also, if you're s-off, the locked bootloader doesn't matter. If you have trouble after trying to flash a recovery, you could also run the ruu.exe to reset everything back to stock (you'll stay s-off) and then flash a new hboot and recovery and then custom ROM. I did that recently and it fixed my issues.
Thanks for the fast replies both of you. That's really interesting situation because I know I had recovery before. You think I should still go for it?
EDIT: Looking at that video it looks like its installing an app, my phone won't get past booting up. Basically all I got is my HBOOT. I'm going to try what coal suggested.
What Coal told me to do worked, I'm back into stock and it boots up fine now. I'm going to try to get a new hboot and recovery now.
I was able to get down to 1.4 HBOOT again and flashed a CM10 ROM. Thanks for your help guys, you lead me in the right direction
You are welcome..

You would just have flashed another recovery using a PG86IMG.zip. or fastboot ..

The "LOCKED" or "RELOCKED" status matters if you are trying to flash boot, recovery partitions etc using fastboot.

I agree that it matters, but you can gain access to those fastboot commands if you are S-OFF by flashing a custom recovery such as JBear, Revolutionary, or the engineering (ENG) bootloader, at least on the CDMA model of the Evo 3D/V. I highly recommend that over unlocking the bootloader since having a locked hboot makes it much easier to return to 100% stock. Not so much with relocked since the only way to get rid of that status is to set S-ON and do the wire tick.

Please help!

Hello,
Please can somebody help me?
I've asked in the forum that I got the idea from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35735978#post35735978) and here because I need help tonight and as soon as possible!
Basically, I HTCDev Unlocked my EVO 3D GSM on HBOOT 1.53.0007 and flashed 4EXT Touch Recovery and everything, rooted with SU and BusyBox and decided that by looking at that thread, I could try a Sense 4 ROM. I tried Viper3D which didn't load at all, so I restored my back-up from 4EXT and now even the STOCK HTC firmware won't load and I can't find a stock HTC boot.img to flash via fastboot.
This is the second time I've managed to do this, and if my parents find out I've done it again, I'll never be allowed a phone ever again.
Please could somebody help me, by giving me step-by-step help on how to get it working again? I'd need help tonight because I need my phone for work tomorrow.
If I re-lock the bootloader and run the RUU for my phone, will it work?
Thank you!
1. Relock bootloader if you are s-on.
2. Boot into fastboot.
3. Connect to computer.
4. Run ruu.exe for your country and carrier.
How to do each step is all over this site so you should be good to go.

EDIT: Downloaded the wrong one by accident, downloading the right one now. I'll update when I'm done
Rule no1. when tweaking your phone: Don't panic.
Rule no2. when the first try fails, try again and do some research. what is causing it to fail?
Also hboot 1.53 is an issue you could just downgrade your hboot to 1.49
(Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh!

Me? Not panic? Not possible! Haha.
I'm downloading the right RUU still, the internet is just too slow!

I would downgrade, but that's way too high-tech for me, given the wire-trick and all. I'll bare it in mind for future, if/when I have a new phone and the EVO isn't as important to me
Okay, slight snag.
The phone doesn't have an OS on it and whenever I try and boot up with a re-locked bootloader it only boots into HBOOT and no further and the RUU won't recognize it.
Should I unlock it again, flash 4EXT recovery, flash a ROM or backup, and then lock and use the RUU?
I'm running out of ideas, and trying not to panic, like you said, but I don't know what to do.
I've flashed recovery, and I've managed to start a restore of my old 3.6 ROM, should I just re-lock the bootloader and use the RUU after it's restored?
EDIT: The restore worked this time for some reason! Thank you guys for managing to help me calm down!

[Q] Unroot and lock bootloader

Hey guys. Yes I have searched, but have only found instructions so far for going back to stock gingerbread.
I need to send my amaze in to get fixed under warranty, and I'm assuming they won't like it if I send them the phone with an unlocked bootloader, rooted, and CM10 installed, and that's what I need help with. How can I reinstall stock ICS, unroot, and lock the bootloader of the amaze? And will it show as "relocked" or "locked"? Of course I plan on putting the root and unlocked bootloader and CM10 once I get it back, so I'm looking for a reversible way to do this. Thanks in advance!
Just to be clear. For your bootloader to say 'locked' you'll need to have S-Off and NOT unlock the bootloader again. But once that's done just flash the ICS ruu. Here's a link

Thank you. So I am S-ON right now. In order to make the bootloader say "locked" again to make HTC happy with my warranty, I'd have to be stuck with ICS and whatever updates HTC decides to give us from then on once I got it back from HTC?
No. That's the only way for it to say "locked" if you relock it it will say "relocked"
So if you really want it to say "locked" you'll need to S-Off first. Then flash the RUU.
Once you get it back you can do as you feel.

What makes you think you will be stuck with anything? Everything u need to do is reversible and then re-doable.
Im just not really sure which part u think would make it stuck. Let us know and im sure we can explain the cofusion
After unlocking the bootloader with S-ON and installing a custom recovery/rom how do you revert to Stock.
I've tried relocking the bootloader, and using the AllinOneToolkit by Hanson to install the Factory RUU but it keeps failing after the HTC boot logo appears and the zip RUU file gets transferred to the phone. Keeps saying Failed with 12 signatures or something.
Then I read with S-ON that you had to use Hanson's tool and perform Fix Mainver, but that doesnt do anything either. Keeps saying, error cannot find device.
So, how do I go back to Stock?
Would appreciate any help!
Boot into fastboot, type "fastboot OEM lock" in the command prompt. Put the appropriate RUU on your external SD card and rename it PH85ING.zip and boot into bootloader.
Edit: its PH85IMG.zip. sorry about my fatty fingers. Also, make sure to check the md5 sum on the RUU. I always had trouble with the download.

I have yet to try the PHS.IMG method in fastboot.
