In Emotion 2.3, there is an option in Settings > More > Battery, but 2.0 (the one our phone runs) doesn't have this.

The only way is by root, which we don't have yet.

I use battery widget reborn

u will try GSAM to see the differences

Baterry doctors and some good features too, you can clear all running apps when turning off screen so mine always on 38% memory use

Have you tried battery widget rebourn? Everything I've read said it was the best.

I am actually performing a experiment on the HAM2. I am going on two full days without need to recharge. All while I have been using it quite a bit. I got the Amazon Fire Phone yesterday and not even an hour in and I had lost 20% battery level.

Thanks everyone, it seems the ROM itself doesn't have this option or have it disabled. I will wait for the root coming out.

Battery Drain......Try this out........

After trying too many fixes from various thread I am really unhappy about the battery drain issue of my SGS2.
Here is a fix which makes me happy at last. You all who facing this problem can try this. This works best when you are with custom roms. But stock also shows improvement.
1st you have to root your SGS2 and just freeze the below process with titanium(paid version) or root uninstaller(free version) apps from the market.
"software update"
Try this if your battery last then usual thank me.
You can also stop the service from application menu but its auto starts so.....try those apps.
Thank you.

Have just frozen, will report back in a couple of days.
Previous posts suggest the same reason seems to be that its always trying to connect .

Yea...its the only service that always trying to connect to the Samsung server. I tested the whole process and mega battery drain in custom rom happens by this process. and also for stock you will see improvement if you freeze the process.

Is Software Update a Samsung service or Android's own updater? Wouldn't want to block Android's.
I've already frozen Wifi Sharing and most Samsung apps, and already seeing a 12 hour+ improvement of battery life.
Can someone confirm my first question, please? Thanks.

Yes! This is the only solution that works for me!
I've tried everything, and I always spend at least 10mA. Now I spend 1mA-2mA (with data or wifi on). In one day I'll publish the the battery graph.
I'm also using autostarts to prevent some processes run.

Yup, something like that. Before I used to get around 10-12 hours on moderate usage (from 100% to critical <5%), and now I can pretty much go for full 24 hours. This is on stock (rooted) XWKE7 rom with stock launcher, just by freezing all Samsung hubs and WiFi Sharing services. Also remember to be moderate about your widget and Live Wallpaper usage, as well as setting your screen to automatic or low brightness. I have removed most default widgets and have a no-frills LWP.
Samsung apps really eat through your battery.
Anyway, is Software Update Samsung's or Android's updater? Anyone know?

With Battery Monitor Widget Pro (free version). There is a graphic for mA.
I got down to 1mA, but occasionally get back to 20mA of comsumption and I have to kill tasks with task killer pro.

Thanks for the tip.

With the very same usage and brightness level as the SGS1, would the SGS2 have the same battery life or better?

Are there any problems with the battery life of my Atrix?

Currently on:

No OC/UC.

Is my battery life considered good or not?

Looks fine to me for a heavy user. Many people struggle to get that on low to medium usage dependent on ROM, kernel, etc.
<edit> Optimize Tool Box from the Market will help you squeeze a wee bit more out of it I believe, allowing you to select which apps run at start up, etc.
That's excellent battery life for a heavy user. You don't need to do anything.

My crazy battery
So I did the test with my atrix, charged it all night and used it during the day as I would do with all my phones, unplugged it at 6am. and used it since I took those pictures at around 4pm. During the day my friends and I played with it for a while several times and I also did some web browsing but I think my battery is just flying through my phone! Am I getting what I should get or am I dealing with a bad battery? I really think my battery is not good at all for its size...
I also have ninja rom #4 and same kernel the original post images has. And I'm a heavy user. Any advices answers or help? Oh and my phone is in Spanish so sorry for that!

Q:I'll do anything if you can help with my battery life

ok so i am on ginger 2.3.3 with a day one x10a baceband 71 rooted with Custom boot loader so i can literally do anything except gain more battery life. i have tried ATK in the past and ditched it for Battery doctor cause i found when you charge with battery doctor i get about 6 more hours out of my phone. ad that to my 1800mAh battery from mugen power and i'm getting about 12 more hours then i did when i got the dang thing. killing tasks all the time deferentially helps. all in all i get about 24 hours...
what i'd really like is a custom rom that is Ginger that's whole point is battery life... i'd really like to forget to plug my phone in and not panic in the morning cause i'm at 10%
i have looked though allot of roms but can't seem to find anything with all the battery eating junk ripped out it seems most of them are putting more junk in
Are there any good LITE roms out there?

V3.0.0 is not long last battery life... but V2.1.1 is very good for battery life
Did you check my screen shot regarding with battery life
try team rom it has decent battery life and is very fast and responsive
Sound to me more like it your habit rather than ROM/Hardware .
I wound't begin the debate here about ATK, but since your post doesn't provide any technical info. Let's try this..
> Seriously, stop using ATK.. it would just HIDE the real problems.
> Remove all unnecessary widget... clock, time, weather, photo, blah blah
> Wait for a few hour, is it significantly better?
> Remove some background-apps; viber, whatsapp, skype, trillion, imo, msg, brb, blah, blah, blah
> Wait for a few hour, is it better?
Well, it should... (definately )
Some geeks down here... skip it if you're lazy.
Actually, you will need to understand something that it's not really about ROM.
Most custom ROM provide you some 'minfree' tweak. Let's make it simple.
Case 1, minfree is 60MB (most custom ROMs)
> droid will just fill the memory with lots of apps till RAM is 60MB.
> droid will start killing the task aggressively when RAM is below 60MB.
Case 2, same thing with 30MB (Stock ROM)
> droid will just fill the memory with lots of apps till RAM is 30MB.
> droid will start killing the task aggressively when RAM is below 30MB.
So, using ATK means....you shot everything to pieces, and droid just recovers it back..
or.............................you and droid trying to shot everything down.....
doesn't sound useful.. does it?
ATK is then.. useless.. unless there are some legacy no brainer app eating CPU and tell droid that 'I'm busy doing my (stupid) job, go away and don't kill me'.
Alright, that's NOT the point about ATK.
My point is, if you having too much apps, beyond 'minfree' level, there is no way you can save the battery whether using ATK or droid itself.... ATK just hide it, and make it worse.
This is why most people get a decent battery life with stock, since it provides lowest minfree level (around simple 30MB), with a cost of system performance, which is one of the reason that stock one is the slowest one.
So, what you need to do is to adjust number of your running apps, close to the minfree level.
Or adjust the minfree level (autokiller memory optimizer?) to match your current usage.
So, all in all, if you're using custom ROMs, stop using ATK, uninstall any stupid apps till free memory is running around 60-80MB. This will give you 'optimal' (not best) battery life.
384MB is not decent enough for X10 to become a multitasking speedy beauty with decent battery life.

Try installing JuceDefender from the market. If after trying it for awhile you find an extreme difference in battery life then your problem is probably with one of your apps accessing Wifi / Wireless data all the time.
Another thing that could be causing it is if you're in a very low signal area. Where I used to work, I was lucky to get 12 hours out of my phone. Right now, it's been off the charger for 11.5 hrs and I'm down to 82%. In this case shutting of wifi and wireless data will help.
Sorry I can't offer any more suggestions. Good luck man.
I use battery Dr. for killing tasks as it helps by doing calibration charges when you charge your phone from under 20%. So I get more battery life than I did with juice defender
Also I get full bars on an hsps network at both home and work

I agree, I use JiuceDefender and if you take the time to set all the profiles it will help alot. Service area signal is also a key to battery life. Also try Battery Calibration App from the market, it will reset your battery stats. Make sure and leave the app open untill battery charges to 100%. Then let battery go till phone shuts down and charge again to 100%, That has been the best fix for me, plus Wolfberak's 2.3 rom's.
Ya using wolf note and I'm liking it.it's giving me my 3 days so I'm good.... I'd like to point out that juice defender as a few cool features but battery doctor seems to work better it has full cycle charging built in as well

[Q] SGII CM9 Battery Problem

I flashed CM9 on my GSII on Friday and ever since it's had 5-6 hours on usage. I've tried doing the battery calibration stuff, seemed to be better Monday and today it had 50% after a few hours of gaming so that seemed normal but then i reset it and it dropped down to 10%. I tried calibrating again and still 5 hours.
I've been using that Battery Calibration app and it game me 40% charge at ~3500mV. I'm not sure whether that is the battery volume but seeing as 100% was 4200mV something seems wrong.
Anyone have any ideas?

As was already pointed out, bad battery life is almost always a rogue app keeping the phone awake, install Better Battery Stats and CPU Spy to monitor wake locks and deep sleep, if you find a problem with an app keeping your phone awake, uninstall it and your problem will likely go away. Personally, I've been running CM9 and other variants of ICS for months and I get less than 1% per hour of drain while the screen is off and the phone is asleep, this is better than Gingerbread was.

Right, but background sync can still hit the battery, even with screen off. I was just curious.
Ive had days with horrible drain but it was almost always an app doing something dumb and keeping the phone awake, bad cell reception or a noisy wifi router. The trick being to identify wake locks that seem suspicious and track them down.

battery drain problems

I have noticed big battery drains while using themer I have a note 3 rooted using vision US T-mo version known for insane battery life. can anyone confirm? and can anyone add advice to retain battery life?
Same problem differer hardware
I have the.LG Optimus l90, rooted but otherwise stock. Normally I get home from work with 40%-60%, after installing Themer I am lucky if I have10%-20% even after going out of my way to conserve battery life. I have tried several different themes but it still just eats my battery like a Sumo wrestler going at an all you can eat buffet. I love the app and would prefer to continue using it but I had to uninstall do to battery drain. I would appreciate any help other than the obvious battery savers and turning off features that I want, need and use.

Hi,
We are aware of this problem and the developers are currently looking into it. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Just confirming on other hardware (that's not officially supported yet)
I was using Themer the other day on my LG G3 (Yeah, I know, it isn't technically supported yet), and I noticed a pretty drastic battery drain compared to Nova.
On the other hand, the only other bugs I could find with Themer on the G3 is the fact that some categories are blocked "because your device is not supported" and the previews aren't full screen, which I could care less about.

Full G3 support should be arriving soon!
I can confirm the battery drain issue is pretty drastical on my xperia z1c. With Themer, a full charge dropped to almost 50% just overnight, but with sony's default launcher, it can last more than 2 days with just moderate use.:crying:

I'm curious if anyone has noticed improved battery life? One of the main reasons I just switched phones was for improved battery life so I'm a little hesitant to try themer out now.
Hoping for this fix...my Nexus 5 has some pretty significant batt loss with Themer. I love this app...!
I will try it again and report back. I bought a 8600mah battery because themer was eating more then 45% of my battery. It was more then my screen on full brightness. It was the NUMBER 1 BATTERY HOG I HAVE EVER USED. So it will be hard for me to compare with such a large battery in my note 3 though.
Maybe its because of your apps are draining your battery or it could be your ROM's problem. Reset your phone and it should be fine if you are using stock ROM. For custom ROMs, I don't think there is any solution. Like me, after I flashed cm 10, my battery is draining twice as fast compared to my stock...

I know it wasn't my rom, in fact it was quite the opposite. Had twice the battery life over stock, with over 200 apps installed.
But here's an update, been running themer all day and its more on par to what it should be. I've had heavy usage today, moving and adjusting things in themer and its only used 12% today, compared to 35%, is a significant improvement. Redraw has also been cut significantly along with lag time.
I must say im impressed.....

Thanks for the feedback! Our developers are constantly looking for new ways to improve performance and reduce battery consumption.
Same here!
I installed Themer for the first time today, and noticed my stock AT&T HTC1 M8 battery drained dramatically! I can go from 5:15AM until midnight with 35-40% left and that's listening to music, texting, Facebooking, news feed, etc. all going. I love the idea and the themes are beautiful, but I don't think its ready for prime-time, unless it's specific to the latest release.
UPDATE: I'm running AT&T stock rom on my HTC One M8 as you know. Now I can only speak for my specific setup but it may be worth a try for all. What I've done is reverted back to HTC BlinkFeed, remove the Theme notification bar, and rebooted to clear my cache. Upon reboot I then loaded up a fresh theme (without the Theme notification bar), after several hours of use, listening to music from my SDCARD, BT on, and Mobile data on I can report back that I've regained my battery life, and I'm now sporting one of the badass Themes without skipping a beat

Thanks for the feedback! We're currently working on ways to optimize the notification toolbar this week, so it should be working a lot better in the coming weeks ahead
What a fortuitous coincidence
Battery drain is a bit more than with Themer for me as well, but not too bad.
I noticed though that the charge goes down when I'm using the phone even when plugin, now this is not the case normally because the charge would increase when plugin, using the phone or not.

Hi,
We're still working on performance optimization, but for now try this:
1. Uninstall Themer.
2. Delete the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder (removing the Exported folder within it if you saved any themes).
3. Reinstall Themer.

OK but that's uh, not great since I saved many themes to uh, use them.
