normally wiping battery stats doing nothing. its an old android myth.... but if you want do it anyway..:
to wipe battery stats, charge the phone for 1 hr to make sure its on 100% then go to /data/system & delete the batterystats.bin file. reboot.
but i think its rom bug. to make sure you can install Legacy xperia rom. if this bug still persists in this rom, flash stock ics via flashtool. if problem then still there your battery is broken

"go to /data/system" is this on SD card?
"charge the phone for 1 hr to make sure its on 100%" i tried that, on display said 100% but when battery on 77%, it will shut down, (100% - 77%= 23%)
1 more, when i remove my battery, and replace it , then i charge in off condition , no matter how long i charge my phone, its stuck on 1\4 icon (maybe 23 %)

crazy..... sorry maybe i cant really help you
/data/system --> its in root directory the 1st directory (" / ") on phone, just use a root explorer. the battery calibration app does the same. (delets this file)
okay good. if on other rom you not have this bug, its good.:good: so we can say battery is fine & also your hardware.
im pretty sure its rom (maybe installation going wrong.) bug or some other weird problem.... but cant say anything because its confusing.
also you say that battery calibration app no work on the other rom...... you can try to delete the batterystats.bin file (this is what your battery app do if charged to 100%) maybe it helps... (hope best for you)
if nothing helps on this rom, you can try a fresh install (FORMAT /data /system /cache from recovery & install rom + gapps) & maybe you also need to a flash a stock ICS.ftf with flashtool first, then install rom. it solves sometimes weird bugs.
anyway good luck to you to solve this problem:good:

1) if u go back to stock 2.3, pc companion will do.
2) if you want ur current custom rom to be reset, go to settings > privacy > factory data reset.
3) if still battery drain exists, getting a new battery will help surely, because i got one and its now okay
after full reset, u may format ur SD card also to remove any left over files from previous roms...

Sola battery drain

Hello,
Sorry, another battery thread.
Got Sola 3 days ago and updated to ICS .54 build.
Everything is fine, but battery. Losing 1% in a few minutes just checking settings. Heck, I tried using it with charger on, it dries quicker then it charges it. I have wi-fi off, 3G off, bluetooth off, screen brightness is set to manual at around 10%, saving stanby is on, no antivirus or anything like that.
Is that normal? I've seen people have days on battery, not hours lol. This is my first android, so maybe I'm missing something there, I don't know.
Any suggestions?
Its strange imo. Its good to try repair with SEUS or do a factory reset and try again.
The other thing is if you installed some 3th party app which cause the drain.
Maybe your battery is not calibrated properly. Try to download Battery Calibrate Pro app and calibrate the battery.

May be there's some problem with your battery stats, just root your phone and follow this:

3. IMPORTANT. Remove CHARGER first.
3. IMMEDIATELY hit "Battery Calibration" (1 or 2 seconds delay is fine, wait for BATTERY voltage to drop and be stable)
4. Use your phone normally (don't charge in between) till it hits 1%.
5. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED (leave it for charging all night) till 100%.
6. Unplug and start using. You should be having as little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours of IDLING now. That's the optimization of a calibrated battery.
ENJOY! Hope this helps!

I tried rooting yesterday for other purposes. Followed instructions in this forum. It didn't work "mount: permission denied (are you root?)" . I checked with Root checker and it said it wasn't rooted.
I don't want to unlock boot loader because that would void my two year warranty.

Which firmare r u using?I assume you are on ICS and it seems you have turned USB debugging off,ON it in the settings->developer options->USB debugging mode and then try rooting.
If you are on .54 firmware,first flash .10 kernel->root using binary's method->flash .54 kernel.
You don't need bootloader to be unlocked for rooting.

ICS .54 . I turned USB debug on then I tried rooting. But it wasn't binary's method, so maybe that was the problem. Anyway, I won't root it just yet. Maybe I can get around it.

Dont be afraid of root, it will just give you administrator access to your system, let's say...
Then you can manage phone yourself, if you remove uneccessary apps and maybe calibrate the battery it will be ok.

You first have to flash .10 kernel then root it..54 kernel does'nt allow rooting AFAIK,then after rooting you can revert back by flashing .54 kernel.
Here's the rooting tool by binary:Click
So far so good.
-Made a backup with Sony PC Companion
-Made backup of ICS firmware
-Flashed .10 kernel
-Rooted
-Just to be safe, currently running backup with Titanium Backup
-Deleted some junk apps, though there wasn't many.
-My phone is not charging up fast enough if I'm using it.

I mean the apps which u have 'removed' by using this script can be 'unremoved'.
i'm quoting these because i believe that the script changes the extension from .apk to some other extension such as .bak etc such that the app can remain present on the system but it will not run therefore 'removing' them.
And by undo i mean changing extension back to .apk such that they can again continue to work.
But that's just my belief,i've never used it but you can give it a go.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Problem with battery state after charger is plugged in

Hello!
Like you see I don't have permissions to write on developer forum so I am asking here for my problem.
I have installed rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265805
Everything is perfect on my Neo V, except one thing:
When I plug in charger or USB-PC cable, sound of connecting is audible but no state of charging is visible. When I enter into BATTERY menu in Settings, I can see increasing percents of battery level, but status of battery is "discharging". No icon of charging, no information on lock screen - nothing. It is frustrating My phone is rooted, CWM 6, kernel from package above. Can I do something to solve this problem?
Thank you for help everyone!

PS. I see forest of hands to help me
I do not use this rom, but I try to help you with some this advice message.
You should try to reflash the stock firmware (the whole firmware, including kernel) and verify if the charging icon appear, then if you like the custom rom, try to flash it again, but be careful with each installation steps.
Try also to clear the battery status from CWM before flashing custom rom.

Hello!
Thank you for answering my question!
Before installing this ROM everything works fine. Now battery shows how many energy left in percent, but when connecting phone to charger it doesn't show "charging" state. I will try to reset battery status before installing this ROM but I do not know if there is such option in CWM 6.
The second problem I saw yesterday is Gallery app crash, when trying to view picture from Camera app. It shows message "unfortunately, app Gallery was stopped". I was trying to clear cache, data, Dalvik cache - no results.
I will try to do what you've said and report back if it helps.
Best regards,
Michał
Hello again!
I've done what you asking for unfortunately with no success... All work fine without charging status and Gallery app (camera app, gallery app, recorder app). Any other ideas?
Thank you,
Michał
The charging issue is present on stock room too?
Or only on this customized rom?
I'll suggest to use for a couples of days stock room to see if the phone is stable: charging ok and the applications do not crash.
Then, if all is ok with the stock room installed, try another customized room or this custom room, but with another custom kernel.
I have my phone (Neo = MT15i) from november 2012, and on the first 4 ... 5 months I used at least one customized room, but in the final I given up to all customized room, and I use a stock room with only few application from a customized room. (InfiniteView, System UI and Calculator).
On stock ROM everything is OK. Do you really think it could be kernel problem? If yes then I wait for update of this kernel.
I also removed batterystats.bin using special app with no effects with charging state. Is there any possibility to change built Gallery app which includes Camera app and sound recorder app?
Besides of described problems I don't see anything else. I though the battery problem can be solved changing something in scripts...
What is strange, that when I connect a cable I hear special sound which signalize charger is plugged in.
Could you propose me a stable kernel compatible with android 4.2.2 (CyanogenMod 10.1)?
Thank you VERY MUCH for response and help!
Michał
Anyone??
Can anyone help me, please?
Stock firmware is slow (full of SONY app which are useless), but this (4.2.2) is much faster, but has bugs...

Here you have a detailed process:
1. Flash the kernel (fastboot)
2. Enter in recovery and format /system (only that) in mount option
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash modules (they are for WiFi)
5. Wipe dalvik (in advanced option)
6. Reboot
Let's hope this will solve your problem
@milanjm - Thank you for detailed instructions!
I will try to flash this new kernel after work (now I am at work ) and will inform you if something changes.
@tiestobunio - Thank you for pointing a good GB ROM.
I will flash it if every solution fails. I won't go back to 2.3.x GB now from known reasons.

Hey, sometimes my phone just completely freezes, I can't do anything apart from switching off and then back on again and when I switch it back on the battery drops half. Or when the battery drains completely, when I plug it in it starts charging at around 14-15%. You can see both on the screenshot. Is my battery about to die, or is it some kind of bug? I'm on CM11, with stock battery. Sorry, I can't post links yet.

First you can try wipe data factory reset and clean wipe all reboot !!
If still the problem persists then
Change your kernel ... I'm using cm11 m12 snapshot latest with dorimanx !!!
Do full wipe data factory reset, format system and install the above !!
This should fix the freezes.
And if you still are seeing some battery drain then use Betterbattery stats to find the wakelocks responsible and disable them !!
But i dont have any above mentioned problems with my present rom, Im using Dorimanx + cm11 m12 Snapshot i9100 presently !!
You don't need to wipe. The problem isn't because of the kernel/ROM/data, it's because of some file that needs to be deleted. I'll find the tutorial and link it here.
Edit: I can't find it, it might take some time

Really doubt that this will fix this guys problem. Trust me, rom or kernel or app related issue. You are better off doing a full wipe then reflash the rom. But yes, resetting the fuel gauge, using a custom kernel, will solve the drop of battery life when you restart your phone.

Hmm if that's the case it could actually be an application setting or something is screwed up...
First would be to root your device and use BetterBatteryStats app and let it monitor a full device cycle from full battery. It requires root access in order to work properly. If you're lucky it will state what app or service is causing the massive battery drain.
Next suggestion if you're unable to resolve the app or service causing the battery drain is to try to wipe data, system, dalvik and cache and reinstalling your ROM and Gapps of choice. Next please be sure to set up the device as a new one and not recover a backup. It could potentially recreate the same issue.
If that doesn't work? Sadly the next thing to try is a little more extreme...
Back up everything important onto a PC or cloud storage and then reboot into TWRP.
Next plug a USB cable from your PC to the phone and then download your ROM and Gapps of choice to the PC.
Now in TWRP do a format data in the wipe settings. It will wipe everything from the device.
Then use your PC to transfer the ROM and Gapps of choice to the device and install them.
Set up device as a new one and don't do a restore a cloud backup.
Hope for the best!
I ll try this tips tomorrow, thank you
I bought the app "betterbatterystat" , is it normal to have the deep sleep to like 90 % and wifi too ? i don't really use my phone but i lost a lot without doing nothing on it ( every rom stock or not).
