Feature request: Quiet hours for notifications - Paranoid Android Features Development

CyanogenMod has a feature where you can silence all (or some) notifications during a set time period. This is great for nighttime -- I can mute all notifications except for the phone ringer (in case of an emergency, I can still be contacted) so that I can sleep better.

Yeah. It was being worked on, had problems, then Google announced that L would integrate their own version so we abandoned quiet hours.
Personally I prefer tasker. I can carry my profile from ROM to ROM and never have to reconfigure it after a clean flash. Then I don't have to worry about whether a ROM has quiet hours or not

Interesting information. Thank you for the update. I'll take a look at doing something in Tasker until Android L comes around! :highfive:

Is there a way to use Tasker to prevent the notification LED from flashing? That's all I use Quiet Hours for.

Awesome! I mostly use Tasker for all my "quiet hours" needs because I can add a charging requirement, since I don't want quiet hours to start unless I'm in bed and have my phone charging, so this is great. Thanks!

[Q] Background music to homescreen?

Think of the ambient music that plays on the Wii menu, or at least try to remember it from five years ago when you last turned on your Wii. Now think of that music playing while you're in your phone's homescreen. I've been looking for some software that provides that functionality for a good while now and have come up quite short. I'd like to play a song each time I'm at my homescreen (ie the Zelda menu theme).
I've tried the workaround where a sound is played whenever the phone is unlocked, but that continues to play even though the phone is locked again, until the sound reaches the end of its duration.
Any ideas here?
Thank you.

I know this is like 2 years old, but maybe try an app like tasker? i was looking at all the threads with "music" and this came up.
actually i just made a profile that does this in like 5 minutes so tasker should work!

[Q] Q how long can i run with Gear S?

Anyone tested this? I want to use Gear S Instead of garmin 305. I wonder how long I could track my workout with full battery. I want to run with activated gps and hrm and turned off gsm. Anybody help me with this information? thanks
I can go out for 1 hour running:
Nike+ or S health,
GPS,
Hrm,
Call forwarding
And it will cost me about 30%... I imagine music will make it worse.

Anybody else run with gear s?
I'll try that on the weekend. I leave it on so the kids can reach me.

OK Google voice detection/always listening

I am positively shocked this is not a larger issue. With the removal of the always listening options for Google Now this devices overall appeal has been greatly limited based kmy needs.
Does anyone in the community know why these features were removed or have any idea on if/when they will return?
with the newest version it's there if you put the widget on homescreen

I have everything up to date including google play services and have placed the widget on the home screen but am still only seeing 1 option. Which is to allow "OK Google" from the app.

That's not the same thing at all. For starters it takes a whole row of icons. Also it will only work when you are on that specific screen. It won't work if you have an app open and most importantly it doesn't work when the screen is off.
This certainly isn't a hardware limitation, but I think Samsung did this to get users to try the new (and greatly improved s voice). I bet their plan is to bring back Google always on detection in a later update after many people try out s voice.
Anyways in the meantime check out s voice, you might be pleasantly surprised.
I know..but all Samsung phones even nexus had have problems with that actual

Waking up from a deep sleep?

Seen this a few times on my S9 Plus. Seems to happen only when the phone hasn't been used for a while. I'm thinking it's still a bit sleepy form the deep sleep?

That does not look like a native Samsung message!! It looks like spam from an app you installed
that's the latest Ecobee app, saw it myself yesterday, pull the notification, long hold. it will tell you the app the created it.
i ended up recent, long hold app name, then info on the right, force stop.
hope this helps.

App launch best settings for battery life

Hi all... Anyone knows what's the best settings for the app launch under battery in settings that will give best battery life??
Is it better to leave all automatic or do we need to manually set them? Or automatic some and manually for others?
Thanks
Better to customise it as per the need.
For few apps you would want them to run even if your screen turned off and few are only needed when you use them so better to close or manually close as needed. This will save battery.

I don't quite understand the system... Because there are 3 options to choose whether to enable or not when turning off or on the automatic button
This is mine
