Of course a HUGE thanks to mr @ak for the awesome kernel that we have in this ROM!
Also, thanks goes to @gtctsiamp for making me an OP. I was too lazy to do it lol. Thanks!!!

Going to take this one for a spin! Thank you ☺

Splendid ROM so far. Well done, mate!
Feature Request: Contextual Notification Headers
- I really like this feature in other ROMs, but I noticed the SlimROMs don't have it. I hope you consider it!

Aww hell yeah!

Basically in the notification and quicksettings drop down where the clock and date is, the background shows the weather.
On a side note, any chance of CM11 theme engine?

Hi
Stupid Question . I cant find the feature list. You write it is below.

Its modded slimrom so expect all features from slim. If u have never tried slim, its basically a fully-featured ROM minus theme chooser. That leads me to the next request, can we please have themechooser @RobbieL811???

Rom is running great. Thanks

I'm not sure about theme chooser man. I am still a beginner, & adding theme chooser isn't a simple task.

Dont worry . Take your time. In any case i will give it a try.

That's a very true statement theme chooser is a pain in the but to add. I have been working on it for weeks and just when I think I have all the conflicts taken care of and build I still had x,y or z bugs. I had to take a break from it. Lol

Thanks for welcoming feature requests.
These are two slim features that were not put back in Kitkat, nfc polling when phone locked, and disable volume buttons when in vibrate mode and only allow volume change from onscreen slider.
Currently on official slim 7.4, will definitely try your build after work.
Sent from my OnePlusOne

Downloading now. Thanks for building. ?

So far so good. I see lockscreen notifications was added. Will put rom through its paces. :good:

the slimsaberkat rom for the galaxy s4 was one of the best roms for it. incredible, nearly ridiculous battery life (with alucard kernel). reason enough to give this one here a try. hope you have done well with the kernel according battery life can't be that my s4 lasts way longer than the 1+1 with same usage

Feature request, can you make the rom installable on F2FS filesystem?
AK kernel support it

Ok, but the rom's boot.img, fstab.grouper, updater-script etc, are f2fs ready?

Here's a review that @romreviewer did on this ROM. Not much to look at as this build is fairly close to stock as features go. A little extra here and there. Good performance and speed though. Anyways, here's the link. ROM REVIEW LINK

It's got nova enabled as the default launcher. So if you've ever used nova or apex that's what it looks like out of the box. And it's a slim rom ---> there's no central spot in the settings for added slim tweaks. There are a TON of them, but you get to hunt for them...that's part of the fun

This will never be made for all F2FS. F2fs on system has little to no benefit anyway.

Very nice rom! Some cool extra features, good looking boot animation and I especially like that you chose layers. Just briefly looking around, I found that you can't select "none" or "swipe" (startup default is already swipe) for lockscreen in security settings. I never use a lockscreen, so I would definitely like to be able to disable it.
It appears that those 2 options are "disabled by administrator encryption policy or credential storage", which is what the ghosted out message reads under those selections.
As always, thanks for your work.

We've been hard at work backtracking that issue. Enjoy!

Thanks, great to see at least some devs have not ditched this device, which is still OK peace of hardware.
Though appetites have grown, and most users now want 4GB to feel comfortable...

Great rom! Using it now on grouper AND falcon as daily driver. Snappy and stable. Big thanks to the developers.
installing now. basically wiping and flashing again because i just found that there are newer builds than the one in the OP
Checked latest kernel found on download page which really gives a better performance feeling on this rom

CarbonRom 5.1 (Nougat) for the Nexus6P
I know my CarbonRom marshmallow builds were a bit of a mess, the repos were not being updated other then to keep them up to date with aosp at the time. But it looks like we're back with 7.1! I plan to release weekly builds and implement my own kernel eventually ( as i try to do with all roms i build). the vendor image is N but the ROM sources are the latest 7.1 sources.
Instructions
-Download the ROM
-Download 7.1 gapps (whichever you prefer, I personally use opengapps 7.1 pico)
-Download latest version of SuperSU for root
-Download7.1.1 vendor image
-Flash all your zips in TWRP after wiping system/data/cache
Features
Yes there are features! its not stock aosp this time i promise! give me a few minutes to write out a list of all the features
I have a better idea, check the second post for screenshots of features finally found time to write out a feature list

-app toast icon
-screenshot type (drag selection of the screen you want to screenshot or normal full screenshots)
-enable/disable scrolling cache

not yet, not sure what theme engine they plan to implement (if any)
EDIT: ive been using this rom for a day now but sadly just realized video playback is buggy. I'll be working on finding a fix for the rest of tonight and tomorrow, hopefully I can get it fixed ASAP. If anybody would like to help you could send me a logcat while trying to play a video in any app where video doesn't play.
If I'm not mistaken, when I was on Carbon for the m8 they were using Layers before the Substratum change. I've downloaded the ROM here, but I'll wait til you get the fixes.

I would like to help, but:
1. I'm rooted, but Titanium backup does not have root.
2. There is no sound in the rom. Music, videos, etc.
Are you experiencing the same?
Damn I thought carbon was dead
Nice to see CarbonRom again! Thanks!

SuperSU works fine, I personally restored all my apps with it
But yea something went wrong with the build and audio/video doesn't work. My assumption is its because I used CM device sources (obviously modified them to get the build booting) for an aosp ROM. I've spent the whole night night cherry-picking various commits trying to get it fixed but so far no luck, right now I'm starting from scratch with Omni's angler sources (which are aosp) so hopefully this works.

Cool! Omni has good battery life. I'll be one of the first to test it.

He's talking about device trees, has nothing to do with battery life
