[Q] NETWORK PROBLEM galaxy gt-i9506 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
These are times I can not make or receive calls or text messages when I try to call there write "not registered on the network."
So I restarted my phone several times, do a restoration of setting, I searched my network manually but to no avail. I know this is not the problem from the SIM because I put it in another phone and I was able to call and receive my messages, so i concluded that it is the phone has a problem.
my phone works well but sometimes I have this weird problem
I hope you can help me I am disappointed, I thank you in advance

A factory reset will bring your phone to the condition it was when you bought it and thus this may fix your connectivity problem (i.e. if the problem is due to software malfunction).
Maybe it's a hardware problem too. The only way to tell is to do a factory reset or install the firmware again.

You can try that too. But I don't see why this will work since your device runs the original firmware.
What's your baseband version?

To make sure that your modem functions correctly. If you flash the modem and you continue to experience the same problem then do a factory reset. If it still doesn't work then re-install the entire firmware.
If after all the above steps it doesn't work then it might be a hardware issue (which you can't fix).

[Q] Device running in bootloop after downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.4

Hello at all,
i got following problem. Of warranty reasons i have to reset my device to an older firmware. Actually i got the stock 2.3.5 running and i need to return to 2.3.4 or older.
I tried to flash the device with ODIN but after flashing it runs in a bootloop. I used to flash the FW KE2 and KE7 from Samfirmware.
What can i do to solve the problem? Which firmware should i take? My device is non branded.
Thanks for help advance.
BR
A factory reset should cure the problem, switch off the phone and restart by holding Home, Volume Up & Power buttons, from the blue list select factory reset.

Can't make calls after official ICS update through ODIN!

I followed this guide ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihFRsquw_8E&feature=g-hist&context=G2816d54AHT2JnXgAAAA) to get the official ICS update.
I know the update was for Nordic countries and I live in Sweden so I flashed it through odin.
Now I can't make phone calls, send text messages or connect to my 3G network.
I asked the uploader and he said "Go in to recovery mode and wipe cache and factory reset" so I did.
The phone then started up in Polish and the problems were still there.
Can anyone help?
Try entering AP settings.
Have you checked for service, do you see your imei number in 'About Phone'?

Have you backed up your EFS folder before flashing?
What you have is a standard IMEI, meaning, that IMEI is for phones that are displayed on stores.
First, try re-flashing the package. If that doesn't work, re-flash only the modem.
If even that doesn't work, follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021

I dont think I have since I don't even know what an EFS folder is
I am going to try all of these.
By the way when you guys (assuming you too have an 19100 and have upgraded to the official ICS rom) press and hold the power button, do you get the menu for silent mode, 3g network, shut down etc or does it just shut down immediately?
My friend have a similar problem too, he got a problem with CSC Unknown and he can't call, text and all phone features....
The real problem where i can find the flashable CSC files because all link are dead

Well... You should ALWAYS backup your /efs folder. Your /efs folder is literally your phone and is what distinguishes a phone from a gaming mini-console
I have that menu, and I'm sitting on LPB, waiting for something more stable LPB...
Always always always backup that damn EFS folder
That imei number is a generic one so you have lost your unique number.
Try this threadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
There are others to search for. As a last resort search for odia. He/her has the knowledge to fix it.
Otherwise return for jtag repair.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your IMEI but I hope this will teach you to inform yourself better before doing something like flashing in the future. Anyway simply reflashing the firmware might help it, it certainly helped me twice.
If you get it back make sure you back it up, so you wont have to go through this again.. There are a bunch of apps that can do it for you so it really isnt all that hard.
Anyway, good luck!

Tried reflashing the package, and it doesn't work.
I only have one big (622 mb) .tar.md5 file, should I flash that in the modem?
I am having the exact same problem, although my IMEI number seems fine. By that I mean it is not the generic one previously posted.
I can not connect to my carrier network, or do anything else network related for that matter.
My phone also turns off when I tap the power button once, I do not get that standard menu.
Any suggestions?

Here's the fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY9cDkj4CCw! If it works, make sure to make multiple backups of your efs folder on sd card/pc/drop box etc!! You can view your efs folder using the Root explorer app!! Here's the download link for the kTool fix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktool&hl=en! Good luck!

Stuck on Welcome screen problem

My S3 i9300 is gets stuck on the welcome screen and none of the buttons work. I've tried dozens of official firmwares and the latest i9300XUFME7 test firmware as well to fix the problem but all to no avail. I've tried different recoveries, CWM, Philz and TWRP and I've tried wiping cache, data/factory reset and dalvik cache but still the phone gets stuck on the Welcome screen. What is the problem and more importantly what is the solution? I'm thinking of trying the next flash again with Auto Reboot, F.Reset Time and Re-Partition checked and also to check the Nand Erase All if my phone survives the next flash. Any suggestions?

sounds not good to be honest, did you check:
(1) try a stock rom flash with prior use of mega wipe (deletes anything, only leaves ext. sd card)
(2) read the SDS thread (not sure if your phone might concerned though)
(3) read the occasional freeze thread

Thanx guyz. I've tried both methods but unfortunately the result was the same.
Anyway any further help would be appreciated.
If the rescue firmware didn't help then it's a hardware fault.

Thanx guyz. But still no joy. Like boomboomer says it must be hardware fault because all my hard buttons work and the phone shows up correctly when connected to my pc but there is no touch response when I get to my Welcome screen on the phone so I'll take it to the Samsung Repair Centre but before I do I want to know is there any repair tar or zip I could try to use?

Well, you may try this. It will do re-partition, format your phone and will make it as if your phone just comes out of FACTORY
Go here and download "I9300XXEMG4_KOR_MULTI_FACTORY", extract and install. Installation guide is found here.
Thereafter, flash your phone again using your country's FW via Odin with PDA option! Hope it works. In my case, it worked like a charm! I re-partitioned my phone three times already while doing experiments! It's ok! It must work!!
I even mixed[JB4.3's Bootlodaer, PDA and Modem + JB 4.1.2's CSC] this way[see attachment]! If you know what you are doing, all goes well!

This will not help if he has no IMEI.
You most likely corrupted the efs partition. In such a case without a backup you can try flashing a stock rom or modem, or you will have to send it in.

Not even close. All a factory reset does is remove and reset system and user data. Flashing a stock rom will format all partitions and reload all the stock apks, which factory reset doesn't touch

No idea I would contact the seller that sold the device to you. I would contact LG about it. They may advise you to send it into repair. There are ways to fix the imei but messing with the imei is illegal so you wont find help here on how to do it. Google is your best bet if you are left with no option. I nor XDA advise this though.

[HELP] No network connection - NO IMEI disappeared

Hi,
Yesterday since I installed CRISSCROSS ROM I lost signal, I thought was a rom problem, after I tried with CARHDROM and the problem persist so I decided to back to the rom that I always use NEXEFY but It don't solved nothing. I checked the signal status, I can see that I don't have IMEI, appeared like unknow.
I have been searching information about this problem, I find a solution using the EngineedMode (Im not sure if this work) but when I dial *#*#3646633#*#* I don't get nothing, I tried MTK SETTING and the same.
I already tried my SIM card in other phones and worked OK, also other sim card of different brand but the problem persist.
Please I hope can you help me.
Sorry my english.
