Notification LED - Verizon LG G3

Hey guys, I finally got my LED light to start working after disabling the DOWNLOADED APP selection. So now the LED for my text messages blinks every few seconds which is really slow. I took your guys advice and download Light Flow but i can't get it to work and same with light manager. I tried disabling the notification led option under display and then turned it on with all the options unchecked and still light flow or light manager wont blink the color of my sms texts. Seems like both application (only one was installed at a time) doesnt seem to work or is there something im doing wrong? i even rebooted my device

I'm using lightflow and under notification light settings, I have everything checked, including downloaded apps. So I think that part has to be checked.

I''m also having issues with the G3 notification LED in general, as well as Light Manager. Without light manager installed, I sometimes get the LED notification for twitter and sometimes I don't. When I do, it blinks at a 3 second interval. I do get the LED for Gmail, but it blinks in about 10 second intervals. Other downloaded apps, I don't get LED at all. So there's that issue. Wondering if I should take back the device altogether....
With Light Manger installed, things get a little better, but just wondering what I need to have the phone's LED/Notificaiton settings set at with the Light Mgr app installed as it seems to be conflicting with the light mgr app? For example, Gmail doesn't blink at the rate I have it set at in the app nor is it the color I designate. In fact, Gmail acts as if the Light Mgr app isn't even there and blinks as per the LG default (I''ve added Gmail as an app and tied it to my account as well within the app). Very odd.

LED Light Glitch?

Whenever I turn off my Galaxy SIII in to stand-by mode, my LED light indicator stays on, and is a brighter white color, with some green and red, instead of the normal blue flash that it gives for notifications. It doesn't blink, it just stays on constantly. It only does this when there are notifications.
Anyone else having this issue?
You just answered your own question. If you have notifications, the notification LED will be on to tell you about it when the screen is off. Remove the notifications and the light will turn off. Alternatively, use Lightflow to get better control of the notification LED.
I am aware that the LED light comes on for notifications, however, it seems as though the LED light is glitches for this one situation. I have narrowed it down to Google+ as the reason for when it does this constant white light. It doesn't go off, the LED just stays white. I will just have to disable notifications for Google+. Thanks for your help!
light flow is verry good, i love it
try it out and cancel the notification if its annoying you
I'm with AT&T, my GS3 only show red led when it's in standby mode, most of the time it's red LED. I've never seen blue/white led show on it except during boot up I think blue or white lid up. What's red led mean? White/blue mean? Thx
Also the charging light is orange or red? But it doesn't seem to change to green when it's fully charge! I'll try again tonight to confirm! Only thing I did is root it with supersu cwm only everything stock! Is there something wrong?

hey i'm having the same issue. i have a verizon version and have turned off all led notifications inside the menu options (charging, low battery and missed notificaitons). i also tried clearing all notifications, rebooting phone, etc and this behavior still happens.
as for using the lightflash program, that's not really an option for the us phones as there is a bug in the app with the us versions of the phone.

i was able to fix my issue with a factory reset, but i haven't fully reinstalled all my apps. i am basically not reinstalling any apps that have to ability to prevent my phone from sleeping and have ability to control notificaitons. i have narrowed it down to 5 apps that may be causing this issue and slowly add each one back to see which one is the culprit.

Apps causing trouble to LED notification light?

I found that some apps interrupt my S3 notification light, for example Go Launcher EX. After I installed this, the LED notification light doesn't work, it doesn't blink when I was charging and for incoming message. However, it did blink when I charging with my phone off. After uninstalled, LED notification works fine again. But today after I installed easy touch, it doesn't blink again What actually causing this? Did you guys having this trouble?
How about this app

[Q] Color of notification led?

Hi there,
Has any of you have any luck changing the color (and/or blinking behavior) of the notification led (e.g. when an sms is received)?
On my CM7'ed Desire I had full control - e.g. from Go SMS - but with this Desire X I'm stuck with the default green blinking.
I just rooted and flashed Elegancia on today, hoping that would put me (or the apps, actually) in control, but no...
BR,
Egholm
I believe there are apps that will let you change your LED on your phone.
Sent from my GSM Galaxy Nexus
Only two colors on Desire X if I remember correctly.
Why would you want to change the colour. Maybe i am missing something .:cyclops:Green seems ok and orange when charging is also ok.
hi
Missed call or SMS -LED flashes only 5min.This is the problem.
ORA1: It's annoying that when I leave the phone at home, and a notification-event occurs that I don't hear, I cannot see from the LED which event happened (remember I didn't hear, I just glance at the phone every and so often when I pass it). Then it's super nice to be able to see if it is a missed call, an SMS, an email, and so and so forth.
Also, the standard blinking behavior - blinking briefly every 1-1.5 seconds - is silly. It requires starring at the phone for a second to judge if an event is there. A constant LED is much nicer.
That's why
Klapo, yeah, but mixing the red with the green, you get an orange So, three colors, and if I could control the blinking, that's infinite combinations ;P
Obj261, after trying different apps, I stumbled over "Light Flow 3.5.2 (lite)". Its the only one that I've seen being able to control the LED succesfully. But obviously I'm too stupid to make it work (consistently) beyond the "testing capabilities" from within the app
I hoped that others have had this need, as well :/
I would just want to know if it's RGB or just green/orange.
I would love to control it via LightFlow but the hardware must support it first.
katman4, it's only green, orange and red.
(But still I haven't found the magic setting in lightflow that makes it work consistently, so be aware of that)
Now someone can design an app that when you have a notification of any sort the whole screen flashes in a colour.
Cant be too difficult for one of the boffins to design:good::good::good::good::victory::victory:

[Q] PA Notification LED Bug

I've been using PA ROM for Galaxy S3 i9300 for a while now. So far didn't have any major problem except rare auto-restarts. But now I'm facing an issue with LED notifications. While the screen is off for any new notifications at the time of arrival the LED flashes once and that's it, then no pulsing. The notification settings are intact. What could be the problem?
Device GT-i9300
ROM: PA 4.45 for S3 STABLE
Same Here
I9300 with PA 4.45 (STABLE)
LEDs don't work 95% of the time. At first I thought either K9 Mail was a problem or a Gravity Box conflict. I did a second clean install (did not reinstall Gravity Box) but get same results. Regardless of which app. K9 Mail, Whatsapp, etc. Led flashes for a split second and that's it. Sometimes if I turn the display on and off it will start to blink.
Also did a test with Tasker>LED Notify, same results, flashes for a split second. After screen on and off blinks as it should.
Solutions or suggestions would be appreciated

Exactly same problem here. Any notifications like for missed call will work here because the screen is on when the the call is received and the screen goes off, then the led works perfectly fine. Tried also turning of the screen exactly when a generic notification is incoming. After screen off the led blinks as set. The problem is only when receiving something screen off. I don't know how android handles notifications, If known I can find the correct source of the problem.

I assume you meant screen ON. Actually I did a Tasker event for received notification with a Secure Settings tas of "wake device for 1 second". However a) it did not help the LED that way and b) it did not go off after a second.
I will be trying Light Manager as described here . Will advise if it helps but need to get back to work. Been spending too much time on this the last few days!

UPDATE: AcDisplay is working very nicely for me. LEDs work fine and its a neat app too!

Since update to Pie, notification led not working for some apps

I just recently updated to Pie on my Honor 8x - all stock JSN-L23.
What I have noticed is the LED no longer flashes green when getting Hangouts messages. SMS works fine for Google's Messaging app as well as Gmail. I also installed Spark and it also does not show LED light when I get a message. Anyone else experiencing this or is this completely isolated?
Thanks.
Here, the LED isn't working for any app except calls and sms in 8.1 and since I bought the phone.
The settings are set to use the light and vibration, but they won't go on. For example Twitter notifications never have sound, vibration and led, I checked and unchecked the settings one hundred times.

I wasn't experiencing any issue with led blinking until Pie. On Oreo, every single notification caused it to blink green. Now on Pie, only a couple apps work. Hangouts being one that doesn't anymore which is a real pain.
I tried using a third party app and it worked kind of but the blinking seems a little erratic and not as smooth.
Noticed that turning screen on when receiving notifications was also removed - at least I cannot see the setting anywhere .
