Latest CWM SuperUser flashable zip - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, folks,
I have pretty much wasted the past 3-4 hours trying to get cwm superuser to work.
I installed .314 UK generic firmware using FlashTool & unticked wipe data, then used TowelRoot v12 to root then flashed NUT's dual recovery but no matter what cwm superuser flashable zip I use I cant get it to work right, it always prompts me to use recovery install when I open the SuperUser app, tried that but I just get error saying there was a error installing SuperUser. If I disable SuperUser then install SuperSU & SuperSU pro from market I get root access but SuperSU has always had issues with AdAway applying the hosts file so I switched to CWM SuperUser when I was on .402 firmware.
I did have the flashable CWM zip file but can no longer find it
Really need some help with this.

If you're not on CWM, you can't use CWM SuperUser. Install SuperSU and use that. You can also switch to AdFree which is what I use. You'll also need to install XZDualRecovery to be able to write to /system.

Thanks for the reply
I was using CWM superuser with no issues on .402 UK generic & Philz recovery, I have always had issues with SuperSU both on my old Galaxy S3 with custom roms & now on my Z2, most of the time with SuperSU any app that needs root access will freeze due to the delay in SuperSU showing the alert & as I mentioned above with AdAway not being able to apply the hosts file 90% of the time.
I also have Dual Recovery installed but keep losing it, seems that using the NDR tools app it installs causes the phone to forget that the recoveries are installed.
Just want some help with this issue & it would be great if someone could post a working kitkat CWM superuser flashable zip.

Can anyone else help me with this?
Have just done a full wipe & used Flashtool to install UK generic .314, have used EasyRoot 12.1 to root & it says I'm rooted. I then install CWM SuperUser from market & when opening it says the su binary needs to be updated & only gives recovery install or cancel options, I chose recovery & it reboots into Philz recovery & says it has installed but Philz says root is broken. When I boot the phone again I get a notification from SuperUser saying the binary needs to be updated again but when I tap recovery it just says there was a error.
Really would appreciate some help here as I need to get AdAway installed, change the DPI & use the nextapp kitkat SD fix app.
Cheers.
EDIT: forget it, got it fixed myself, now CWM superuser is working fine.

how to obtain root perms and install SuperSU on JB rom?

I installed SuperSu on my X10 with "[cm10] XPERIA X10Z-10.1.A.1.434" Rom and once opened it asked me permission,I clicked ok and it has removed Superuser but after it said me that I had to update SU Binary. The first time I tried to update SU Binary choosing normal mode but the installation failed, the second time I downloaded update-SU_Binary-1.30.zip and I flashed it from recovery but after the reboot, opening SuperSu,it says that executable SU there isn't and SuperSU can't install it.Now,there is a mode to fix this issue to use SuperSu app? If not,how can I reinstall Superuser app? Is possible to root this Rom or I have to reflash it?
P.S: when I connect my X10 to the pc,flashtool says "Root acces allowed",but apps that require root, not work
i solved this issue reflashing the rom without full wipe, now I have Superuser again...
isn't there a mode to install correctly SuperSU on X10 with JB rom?

[Q] Does not have proper root

Hey guys,
I have an i9300, rooted with slimbeam installed. A few days ago I dropped my phone and the screen cracked and the display disappeared; so I got it replaced. When I turned my phone on again, it was stuck on the boot screen. So I fully wiped my phone and flashed slimbean again (as I already had the file on my external SD card). This got me passed the boot screen and my phone is working fine except it seems like I don't have proper root access. I downloaded a root checker and thats the message I got "Does not have proper root access" and when I run superSU it said "the su binary needs to be updated" so I click on update and I get a message saying " install failed. Reboot and try again" I reboot and tried again and same error
Anyone know what my best course of action would be?
EDIT: It also randomly keep rebooting.
Thanks a lot guys!
Cheers

What do I do now? I was hoping flashing SuperSU would solve the problem.. but i guess that didnt work

[Q] Rerooting SuperNexus ROM

Hey all, slightly worried atm. I've flashed various roms before so I know what I'm doing. However, I recently unrooted to use an app but now I want to change ROM again after using this one for so long I want more customization. Tried installing SuperSU from play store however the binaries aren't updating and I have no idea how to fix this. Will doing a factory reset restore the ROM to how it was before? Is there a way to manually install binaries via recovery? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Yes, there it is. But if you are already using a custom recovery, you can install any ROM, as it does not matters if you are rooted or not.
If you still want to use your actual ROM
1.Download this: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.19.3-i9300.zip
2.Reboot to recovery
3.Flash this .zip
4.Go to Power options if you are using a CWM based recovery (like CWM, CWM Touch, Philz Touch or Devil Recovery) and choose "Reboot Recovery". If you are on TWRP, go to "Reboot" and choose "Recovery". This it will boot you into latest Philz Touch 6.19.3 recovery.
5. Now go to "Philz settings" and click "Re-root System (SuperSU)" and then "Yes - Apply SuperSu". The proccess takes like half of a second.
6. Click "+++++Go Back+++++" and then "Reboot System Now"
Now you are good to go You can instll SuperSu from the marjet and update the binaries, even if I think this install the latest binaries.
Also, in the future, if you have supersu pro you can disable supersu to use apps, versus totally unrooting.

The option to hide root in surperSU is still not complete enough for some apps such as the Barclays Banking app. In this case it may be worth trying to use the exposed module designed for hiding root. Plus you can pre-set it on an app by app basis.
Hey guys, thanks for all your help. It was indeed the pingit app I had to unroot for. Well got my phone working again now so panic is over. Will definitely try the exposed way of trying it in the future!

Samsung Galaxy S II (GT-19100) Gingerbread | Rooted, but superuser not working

Hello peeps, evilbeef here!
So yea, I have rooted my phone a while a go I have used Odin v185
and I used Speed Kernel S2 K-2 -21 as the PDA file. I have found this on GalaxyS2 Root webpage
I have successfully rooted it, basically I have rooted so many phones using Odin. :laugh:But this one is different. I already have Superuser app (from google store) before I started rooting it. After I rooted it, my phone rebooted automatically. In the Startup, The phone has yellow triangle. My Phone works normally.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS, THERE IS NO REQUEST OF PERMISSION SHOWING, I ALSO USED ROOT CHECKER, IT IS NOT WORKING, IT SAYS ROOT ACCESS IS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED. ALL OF THE APPS I DOWNLOADED THAT NEEDS ROOT PERMISSION ALSO DOESN'T WORK.
BUT ONE THING I AM WANDERING ABOUT IS THAT MY KERNEL VERSION CHANGED.
IT SAYS THAT: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #k2-21
But also when I go to recovery mode, I can flash CWM recovery automatically.
The only thing that doesnt work I think is the Superuser.
I also tried checking su binary vlegacy. I also try to check for updates but superuser keeps me forcing it to close.
I think I am only having issues with Superuser I think. How Can I fix this? Please Help
Uninstall supersu from you phone.
Download supersu from this link- https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/ Copy paste it into your SD card.
Boot into cwm recovery and install the supersu zip file you downloaded.
Thanks for the fast respond bro! I was thinking about the same thing tho, I just want to have confirmation from others if this thing would work! HAHAHAHAH thanks mate! :--------)

Can't fix root. Do I need to flash recovery again?

So I just successfully installed CM13 on my i9300. Everything works fine, but I just found out I lost root rights.
I went and downloaded the Super SU app from the PlayStore, launched it and that gave an error that there's no SU binary installed and I need to manually root again.
So I downloaded UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip, put it on the sdcard, rebooted into CWM Recovery, installed the zip and booted back into the system (when prompted to fix boot I selected no as recommended), but now I STILL HAVE NO ROOT RIGHTS and the Super SU app still gives the same error.
Is there a specific SuperSU.zip I should be installing in recovery to make it work?
Or is something wrong with the recovery and do I need to flash that through Odin? (I don't think this is the case though, as flashing CM13 and gapps went completely fine)
Thanks for any isnight and tips

In Developer Options I have set Root Access to Apps and ADB it didn't give any error, but doesn't seem to be doing anything either... In file manager I can't reach root, Root Checker app fails, Super SU gives than binary error, and another app that requires Root Access says I don't have it as well..

Flash rom again and dont flash SuperSu its better now without using SuperSU
I got the same problem. I tried to root with odin again but it didnt work...
Flash cm13, wipe data and cache and flash cm13 again. Cm13 should be pre rooted.

Hi Guys, I have the same problem too after CM13. Unfortunately rooting again with ODIN flashed stock recovery back and am stuck on CM13 now with no root and stock recovery. Can someone help please? Below is the detailed description of what happened.
----------------------------
1. My Samsung Galaxy SIII International (I9300) was rooted and I had CM11 stable/snapshot version there since last 2-3 weeks.
2. Yesterday, I tried upgrading the latest CM13 nightly for my device.
3. While doing so, and rebooting, it asked me the normal message "root possibly lost, fix, yes or no". I accidentally pressed no.
4. Then I noticed after CM13 was flashed, that I do not have root access anymore. Please note that at this point in time, I was not aware that it has to be explicitly enabled in developer options.
5. I came to know that I lost root when I tried to boot in to recovery (CWM) to install gapps.
6. Now, under the impression that I do not have root anymore, I tried to root again with Odin as I had been doing all these days.
- By doing that, ODIN removed my custom recovery (CWM) and flashed it with stock recovery.
- Though ODIN said PASS after reboot, I still do not have root access.
7. Removed cache, wipe data, and factory reset, multiple times but no help.
8. Enabled root for both apps and adb in Developer options, but no use.
9. I also tried KINGO root ( a very popular tool for SGS3 these days) but in vain.
10. Now, am stuck with CM13 and stock recovery and unable to do anything with ROM manager or anything else as I do not have root anymore.
11. Am able to install few apks for whatsapp and facebook for now and living with it, but it wouldn't let me install playstore apk too anymore.
Highly appreciate any quick feedback.
same here after rooting once cm13 by developer option, for some reason i had to use hide my root app, now unable to get root back
Its a problem with the s3, it forgets root. The most reliable is chainfire and sticking with a stock rom.
You must:
Wipe to factory,
flash an original rom via odin,
Boot straight to recovery and wipe to factory again,
Flash original rom again,
Boot straight to recovery and wipe to factory,
Allow the phone to boot.
You must flash at least twice and reset to factory at least twice, even tho I sad it thrice, to kill all remnants of the old rooted rom.
Then you can flash chainfire via odin and go from there.
