Hi Note II owners, this is my first submission to XDA.
This is a corrupted superuser bootscreen i threw together.
I looked everywhere for this kind of boot animation but found nothing, so I spent a while learning After Effects and made it myself.
Meant to be a digital hacker glitchy effect.
Also made a boot sound but couldn't manage to get it working on my current (fantastic) rom. Only zipped sound to upload it.
Enjoy

UPDATE!
Due to requests, a non superuser logo version has been made.
Also, flashables have been made thanks to @claude96
Downloads:
View attachment Hacked_Note_II_Boot_Sound_Flash-able.zip - Flashable zip with sound thanks to @claude96
View attachment 2928954 - Original with Super Pirate Andy. Rename to bootanimation.zip and place in appropriate directory for your rom/phone.
View attachment 2928953 - Samsung logo only version. Rename to bootanimation.zip and place in appropriate directory for your rom/phone.
View attachment bootsound.zip - Zip containing sound, non flashable, not sure where to put or how to get working.

Nice one! Let me flash and see!

Amazing work mate. Like the glitch part. Lots of hard work you put into this and it paid off.

@sonatamartica very nice work, I've attached a flash-able zip with your bootanimation, and I've also included the needed custom bootanimation enabler file in it, so that it works for anyone.
PS : if you want !, just give a link for the sound, and I'll included in the zip.
@cypher-V & @lucaslc7 @takkk7 read my comment to @sonatamartica, and just flash attached zip.

@cypher-V Yes It's working ( tested on dn3-5.5 rom btw, and others ), they both work ( boot_animation & sound ), flash the boot_animation first, reboot and check, then flash the sound zip, hope this helps.

Its not working bro..
I tried all combinations

Sorry I'm very slack at getting on XDA
Thanks to everyone who made flashables etc, I could never get sound going so I'll need to try one!
Will update main post soon to include others files with thanks to them of course
If anyone wants a different picture instead of super-pirate-andy let me know, I still have all the stuff to re-render.
Thanks again everyone! For my first contribution, this is a wonderful surprise

Doesn't work on my xperia p
I'm using stock ICS (6.1.B.0.544), and tried both manual methods. It is rooted, but not bootloader unlockable (so no CWM).
What should I do? I have no idea about what to do.

I have had the same problem with a little mod done for my phone.
For have all settings menu in aosp i've used an old zip (4.1.2) and after restart wifi doesn't work anymore....unselectable.
The guilty is of zip used for flash the mod.
Needs a zip for 4.3.
Download a recent mod like airwiev style and use it for flash this mod.

---------- Post added at 09:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 AM ----------
Here's the updated flashable zip that won't break the wi-fi. Zip provided in OP is compatible with other devices but it isn't compatible with Note2 on 4.3 fw since it uses new vrtheming script. Hence flashing older vrtheme on 4.3 fw will break wi-fi.

Its a matter of luck that it worked for you. If you replace SystemUi manually via root explorer, your phone will reboot instantly which means you won't be able to set permission and hence you will be in bootloop.

s5 floating message or air message download

Here is a flashable zip for s5 floating message working on 4.4.2
this will also fix lockscreen effect reset on reboot
It wont work if you dont have feature.xml or other.xml so make sure have these files in /system/csc
Specials thanks to:
lacoursiere18
thanks mate.. already visit the discussion thread about this new feature.. it's great..
could you please be more specific, this is working on 4.4.2, is it stock rom, or certain rom only (which custom rom you're using right now)..?
because every single rom might have the different structure of SecSettings.apk, from what i read from the original thread this might causing malfunction like bluetooth, etc..
i wanna try this out, but i'm still at work atm..
if someone want to try, as lacoursiere18 said: "DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR CURRENT APK'S; SecSettings.apk, SecSettingsProvider.apk and SecMms_Blue.apk"

Go to /system/csc and check if feature.xml is there or not
i have already told you it will not work without it
go to setting/sound and display and look for festival effect .... if it is there than you just need to edit feature.xml file which is not present in ur rom i guess

[ROOT]Marvel/DC Boot animation [Android 4.0-6.0.1]

I found a bootanimation somewhere on the internet a while ago, maybe reddit. i don't recon now.
But it was only in low resolution and the png's from the gif wasn't extracted
So i decided to download the gif from the source http://www.christiantailor.co.uk/?portfolio=marvel-dc-character-loop
And then i only compiled it in gif2boot in resolution XHDPI sort of. But it looks much better on the device.
Below is a preview of the gif

}
Requirement: Root
Method 1: (TWRP) (for devices with bootanimation path /system/media/)
Flash *.zip via TWRP or any other recovery
dl link https://db.tt/Fn62tU46
Method 2: (ADB) (for devices with bootanimation path other than /system/media/)
Code:
adb root
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /<supported path for bootanimation>
adb shell
chown 0,0 /<supported path for bootanimation>/bootanimation.zip
chmod 0644 /<supported path for bootanimation>/bootanimation.zip
exit
adb reboot

Kitkat users = straight forward use either method 1 or 2 (verified on Z3C)
Lollipop 5.0 users = use below tutorial (verified on Z3C)
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/arm-arm64-android-5-0-lollipop-t3032247
1. Dl this binay file https://www.dropbox.com/s/6q1x2q7imul45ru/bootanimation?dl=0
Go to system/bin and delete bootanimation (binary) and replace with the downloaded file. Now give it proper permission as 755 (rwx-rx-rx)
2. Go to root/system/media/ and delete (back it up - optional) bootanimation.zip and replace with the Marvel/DC bootanimation.zip and give it proper permission 644 (rw-r-r)
Reboot and you'll se wonders of our hero's
Lollipop 5.1 users = straight forward use either method 1 or 2 (verified on Z3C & Z5C)
Marshmallow 6.0 users = straight forward use either method 1 or 2 (verified on Z5C)
Marshmallow 6.0.1 users = straight forward use either method 1 or 2 (verified on Z5C)
That looks awesome. Thanks for sharing
this would be awesome as live wallpaper!!
I am only getting an android logo as the boot animation, nothing like the stuff shown here.
Good! Thanks for this

You have to put the bootanimation.zip in root/system/media and give it permission 644 (rw-r-r) and delete the original bootanimation. The android boot is probably the default android boot.

works just fine on Z3 compact, looks off tha chain.
thanks yo.
* you can't overwrite the original boot animation.zip. First delete the original one, than copy the marvell one (not extracted, leave it as .zip) into ROOT/system/media and restart phone. Done :good:
Looking great and werking great on my Note 2 LTE

Boot screen freeze
Hi, thanks a lot for sharing. I did everything as instructed and after reboot the animation showed up and looks awesome. The problem is that it seemed the system is stuck here and the animation looped over and over again for at least 1 minute before I force it to turn off. I tried boot again and it remained the same so I have to flash the backup. I just wanna ask if it's normal to take a long time booting after altering the boot animation so I just have to be more patient and wait, or something went wrong?
