[Tempered Glass -9H] High Quality Screen Protector - Asus Padfone X and S

Hi Guys,
Just want to share this out to you guys.
I took the risk and order it (Asus Padfone S- I'm guessing this is what it's known as outside of usa??)

Took about 6-10days, but it arrived yesterday and perfect snug fit.
Better than ordinary screen protector quality. I.e. Zagg/ Spigen quality.
It is VERY nice and clear.
Cheers

nah, bro, see one of the options listed as, "Asus Padfone S"... that's the one I picked... :good: (not zenphone)...
It's a little harder to see because it's not listed on the "title" but it's available inside after you've clicked it.
Tempered glass screen protectors are night and day compared to the normal (film) ones... hence I shared my findings.. cause I know some of you out there appreciates high quality screens

Hi, after you use the screen protector, do you have any issues with slotting the phone into the station? i.e. any difficulty in the station sensing the phone? According to Asus, they do not recommend a screen protector due to this, but I am kind of uncomfortable with my screen being unprotected.

I got the screen in today, took awhile longer to arrive than I had hoped.
After getting it on the phone does still fit inside the tablet dock, but it is noticeably harder to pull out of the dock. Whatever wiggle room there was before is pretty much gone now. On the one hand this could be a good thing, since the phone will be more stable if you walk around with it in the tablet dock - but on the other hand pulling it out of the dock takes 15 seconds longer than it did before and if you're trying to "grab 'n go" that could be frustrating.
Overall, I'm happy with Nillkin's tempered glass screen protector. Very similar to Zagg's product, which isn't available for the Asus Padfone X/S. Where this product is slightly better than Zagg is that it included several tempered glass circles - I wasn't sure what it was for since there are no circular home buttons on the device. Then I realized it was for the camera on the back! I chose not to put the protector on the camera, but I think it's a nice-to-have option if you're into that.
One thing to note, the installation kit has several instructions which are hard to understand. Basically:
Use wet wipe #1 to clean the screen
Use dry wipe #2 to dry off the screen
Use blue static cling to pull any remaining fibers or dust particles off screen
Apply screen
Use cloth to clean screen off
I found that use of the blue static cling put more dirt and fibers on the screen than pulled off - ended up doing steps 1 and 2 over.

Hi,
thanks for the update!
While waiting for someone to reply, I also purchased the screen protectors. They were not Nilkin brand, some other China brand. But they fit and work well. It is quite thin and there is no problem slotting in or out of the dock. The dock also seem to respond the same as before I applied the screen protector on the phone.
Some brands come with a sticker for Step 3. If not provided, I usually use normal scotch tape to stick the dust out.

After a couple of days with it, there is no more trouble sliding the phone in and out of the tablet station. I think that immediately after applying the Nilkin tempered glass screen protector, the screen protector has not fully bonded with the screen. Wait 24 hours before sliding the phone into the tablet station after applying the Nilkin 9H tempered glass screen protector.

Hi, can you take a photo of your device with the screen protector on it? I viewed the item on ebay, but there isn't a "hole" on the screen protector for the sensor (top left corner). If it fits perfectly it should have this "hole", and if it does, I'm getting this item asap. Hope you can help or if you have any comments regarding my enquiry. Thanks!
Cheers!!!

To which sensor are you referring? The ambient light sensor is to the right of the earphone speaker on both the Padfone X and Padfone S - right where the hole is punched in the tempered glass.
The Padfone 2 and Padfone Infinity models have it on the left - but this is not a screen protector for either the Padfone 2 or the Padfone Infinity. This is only for Padfone X and Padfone S.

I bought one of these tempered glass screen protectors and it lasted about a week and a half before it cracked on my bottom left corner. I've since replaced it with a Nilkin tempered glass screen protector which seems to fit better.

Guide: Remove the Screen Protector for improved clarity, brightness and color palette

Dear all, thank you for reading this. I have re-written this entire first post, to provide proof and better information.
When I discovered a light scratch on my Sony Tablet S, I was particularly disappointed, because I had been taking good care of it, and I couldn't think of a reason it should have gotten a scratch in the first place. It looked irregular, as if a key like object had grinded the surface. Needless to say, a product is not supposed to get scratches so easily!
I proceeded to the 'teeth tap' trick on my device. This is basically to verify if it has a glass or a plastic coating. If you lightly tap the device's screen against your teeth, you can tell if the sensation is similar to a glass or plastic. Tablet S feels very much like plastic, which was yet another disappointment, as it means more scratches.
Then I did some research, inspired by the S-E Xperia Play, which also led many to believe that it came with a plastic screen, when that was not the case.
Turns out, S-E (and Sony?) have been releasing their recent line of phones with pre-installed screen protectors. These are not really meant to 'protect' the screen (although they do), and are more required to avoid the screen shattering into pieces (due to the quality of the glass, which is not as good as other equivalent devices'). This post explains it a little bit better.
Many users have opted to remove them (and either keep the glass screen naked, or install a 3rd party screen protector of their own choice) and have reported the following pros and cons:
CONS:
- Residue is likely to be left behind, requiring careful cleaning
- Screens can crack / break into pieces quite easily. Some even on first drop.
- Some prefer the 'anti-glare' function of the pre-installed screen protector.
PROS:
- Touch response is improved (see bartbla's post)
- Improved clarity
- Improved brightness
- Glass is hard to scratch -- unlike the pre-installed screen protector which does get scratched easily
- Glass does not attract dust, hair, oils or fingerprints as easily as the installed protective film
- You can install a 3rd party protector of your own choosing
You can check these two posts for more information and screens of what it all looks like: (POST1, POST2)
I then thought: Maybe the Tablet S also has the same 'design'. And it does.
I can confirm that I have removed my installed screen protector. This was definitely NOT an easy thing to do. At times you feel like you are 'ruining' some kind of coating that is meant to stay on. But the brave get going when the going gets tough... so I persevered! And luckily for me, I was right. It is just a screen-protector which serves no apparent function (since you can replace it with one of your own that does a better job).
The things I can confirm are the following:
Brightness is increased
Clarity is marginally improved
Color palette is slightly improved (due to the above two mostly)
The device seems to respond to my taps more accurately
I cannot find negatives, apart from the fact that the glass screen underneath is definitely not oleophobic. It gets smudged just as much as the protector. But at least it is glass, so stains go away easier (with fewer wipes) and of course, the feel is 'better' and it does not scratch easily. I still, however, encourage people to put a screen protector on, as there is reason to suspect that this is a normal glass (not an enhanced glass or a gorilla glass), thus it may scratch easier and also crack easier.
I am now including some pictures of the process, and also a 'before' after comparison for you.
First, how the tablet should look normally. Notice at the edge a very small gap. This indicates where the screen protector is:

Next, this is after a bit of it has been peeled. This is a long and arduous process. Took me about 5 minutes just to get it to this state!
About 5 minutes later of carefully breaking my nails trying to remove a little bit more:
Finally, after a good portion of it was removed (it seems glued to the device!!!) you can carefully use a tongues tool or equivalent to grab the edge and finally start peeling it off. It seems that it is only glued at the edges, as it starts coming off much easier after a while:
After you have removed it, the screen may be 'sticky'. This is to be expected. You can use a mild alcohol solution with a little bit of water, and carefully clean any residue. Soon enough you will have a perfect glass screen!
For your convenience, here are my results, before and after, up close:
This picture was taken at exact same brightness. In fact, it was while still removing it. You can see it is brighter and clearer on the side I have removed.
So, there you have it! I hope this has been useful to some of you! If it has been, I would appreciate if you clicked the 'Thanks!' button!
Some extra notes:
bartbla tried this and has reported that the protective film can be removed to improve clarity, touch sensitivity, display angles -- and of course no more scratches!
Thanks to Zardif, we now have a visual confirmation of the differences -- although the quality of the picture is not that good and might be hard to tell them apart just by looking at it. So I took the liberty to edit the picture, keeping the leftmost (film protector removed) and the rightmost (film protect still on). Hope you can tell the differences!
PS: Although this topic is unimportant compared to the truly important works by other posters, if it has helped you in any kind of way I would appreciate if you clicked the thanks button. It's just a nice way to be... nice.
I can already confirm for you that it has a factory applied screen protector. We removed the one from my friends tablet about a month ago.
We both had the Sony matte screen protector on our tablets and a while back he managed to drop his tablet screen first onto the corner of a cinderblock. That incident put a hole straight through the matte screen protector and chipped what we thought was the screen underneath. About a month ago while inspecting my own tablet I noticed what appeared to be a second screen protector under the one I had applied and so we tried removing it on his tablet. Wonderfully enough we got it off and his screen was perfectly intact underneath. The actual tablet screen is quite wonderful in terms of dealing with fingerprints. It picks up virtually no fingerprints at all while swiping your fingers, but will pick up fingerprints if you just jab a finger at the screen. The brightness levels are no different than with the factory applied protector, if you were wondering. We tried testing to see if there was any noticable difference in touch sensitivity, but we couldn't notice any major difference.
Tablets sold here have no factory applied screen protector, some outlets including Sony Shop will give free screen protector as gift.
I bought mine 4 days ago and the shop gave me a free screen protector, they even help me put it on, nice workmanship which took 15 minutes.

I might suggest checking again. I can confirm that units in Canada have the protectors already applied. It's near impossible to actually notice it unless you look at the very corners of the tablet. Look down at the thin side of the tablet when holding it in landscape mode and look at the curved corners. You should be able to see the outline of the factory applied screen protector there. I have the matte screen protector I put on my tablet too, but I can still see the factory one under it. Of course what you will see down there may vary depending on how you applied your other screen protector.

Opp! A screen protector to protect another screen protector
Will check it out tonight.
Now that you mention it, i see the screen protector on mine. much similar to the xperia play phone. that phone also comes with a screen protector already installed.
Yes, every tablet come with that, is factory default
So I think this means that if any of you have got scratches, you can opt to remove it to get rid of them and then install a screen-protector of your own choosing. Plus it might improve the brightness, as many have reported with Xperia Play (and other Xperia phones).
lol. Yeah I definitely see it in the corners. It's funny how desperate I was to get a screen protector on it before something bad happened and now I've had 2 the whole time.
I took mine off.
Just like on my SE Arc I think the screen looks a little bit better without the factory installed screen-protector.
The viewing angle is also a bit better and the touch responsiveness is better, I noticed the difference with fruit ninja, I have to touch the screen with less force to get a reaction.
The plastic screen-protector also attracts more dust and (in my case) cat hairs.
All in all I like the touch off the glass surface better then the plastic surface.
Removing the factory installed screen-protector took me some time, the first time I could only damage the protector when I started in a corner, I could not get it off and thought this was a layer witch was not to be removed (maybe a sort of color adjustment coating).
But after reading that someone else removed it, I tried again and this time it worked.
So here we have our testimony! Thanks a lot! I also had a scratch on mine and I was so disappointed that my device got scratched so easily! Turns out it was not
So what's the advice for someone who wants to use another screen protector? Remove the factory one and put on the new one or stack the new one on top of the factory one?
Don't remove factory protector... But you can put a new protector on top

That does not make much sense. You are effectively reducing the touch responsibility a lot by putting two protective films. Additionally, the quality of the factory-installed protector is not good at all -- it gathers a lot of fingerprints and oils, it can scratch easily and reduces brightness and clarity.
My advice: Remove it and then put a good quality protector of your choice (I prefer grainy protectors with oleophobic surfaces).
I am going to remove mine and post pictures soon.
Man the factory protector is very thinny you don't even notice that it is there...
So if you put a new protector it won't reduce sensibility or anything that you said
I had a scratch in the protector found this page and was ecstatic thought it was scratched forever.
imgur(dot)com/dJt3C
(on theleft the screen protector is off, right still has it)
Took a pic with it half on half off to compare. I didn't really notice a huge difference in brightness and the screen protector leaves a sticky residue that needs to be cleaned off somehow. The text seems a little clearer but I'm not sure its a huge difference. On Thursday my extra screen protector comes in and I'll try and clean up one side and test the touch feedback and see if it feels better right now it's too sticky to tell. It will sit with the protector like that until Thursday as I don't want to scratch it, so if you have anything you want me to do I can try to accommodate.
The easiest way to take it off is with a thumbtack. It was nearly impossible with just a fingernail.

I really can't tell if there is already a factory protector there upon close inspection. Even there is one, it should be very thin and won't do a good job.
Hello I bought my tablet s from Canada.Unfortunately it arrived with sort of scratches . I am not even sure whether they are cracks or scrathes
Sorry but since I am a new user,I am not allowed to post links yet.
The question is do you think these scratches could go away once I remove the film? and what type of screen protector do you recommend to use once I remove this one ?
Please advice me . Since I got the tablet I didn't really feel happy about it !
Thank you in advance.

If you bought this new, demand that they give you a replacement . No reason to accept a damaged device.

Best screen protector?

I'm looking for the best screen protector. Most important is functionality, so the least amount of stylus/touch sensitivity reduction.
I've tried the armorsuit military shield that uses liquid applicator and it causes too much friction and sensitivity reduction.
I'm now looking at the various generic film protectors and the 1 glass protectors linked below
intelliGLASS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TD9G9R2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_WSgevb1JDHSXF
Glass protectors offer the best damage protection. I'm curious as to the performance with this shield.
Has anyone tried it?
I have, and the screen protector does not seem to affect stylus or touch functionality in any way

Glass is always incredible, and this one is no exception. Quality and packaging is great. I like the slight curves on the edges of the protector, makes it feel nice to the touch. I showed off my tablet to family to check it out, and until I told them it had a screen protector on, they couldn't tell what I'd added to it LOL.
I ordered the intelliARMOR intelliGLASS HD for mine. It's arrived however still waiting on my tablet to return from Nvidia (FedEx says Tuesday!) so it can try it on lol
Hoping it doesn't interfere with the case.

I've been using it since I bought my Shield and its great! I can upload some pictures of it on my Shield if you want to see how it looks. There is a small cutout for the sensor on the middle upper right but other than that its an edge to edge fit (as much as it can)

Do you use the official case with it mate? Does it fit well? I've had their glass products before on my HTC ONE M8 and been pleased with the quality.

If you are referring to the magnetic folio cover then yes that's all I use with a vinyl wrap on the back to prevent scratches. There are no issues at all other than the screen protector getting dirty from the folio but the smudges wipe right off.

My last RMA was in that recall but I had to RMA it for a different reason. Thankfully my new one (I recieved it about a month ago) is working great and doesn't have the defective battery. I usually play games on my Shield TV now but I still enjoy gaming on the tablet.

Coincidentally I RMA'd my Shield Tablet last Monday for a broken LCD beneath the glass. Crack occurred for no particular reason, I had never dropped it. All I recall is the night before it got quite hot. Don't think it's related to the battery issue but I'm convinced the heat of it had something to do with the crack. They accepted and my replacement was sent out yesterday due delivery Tuesday. I'm assuming it'll be a model with the unaffected battery else I'll have to RMA again...!

That's good to hear, mine was an advanced RMA so I had it in 2 days and sent the original back without any issues. My original one was almost non functional after downgrading from the original 3.0 back to 2.2.1 and no matter how many times I flashed the stock image or a different ROM it stuttered and froze. They suspected there might have been hardware damage from the OTA 3.0 somewhere in the CPU/GPU which doesn't make sense and they never gave me an answer on what was wrong. I'm still glad this one is working better, in fact I'm typing this reply on it.
Applied the IntelliGlass by IntelliArmor to my Shield today. Here's my impressions and mini-review.
The protector comes well packaged in a book style packaging. You get everything you'll need inside to make applying the protector a breeze. Includes:
- protector
- dust removal sheet
- alcohol wipe
- lint free cloth
- smudger
Simply cleaned the screen with the wipe, applied the dust removal sheet several times and then began peeling off the backing and lining up the glass protector. My first hit was slightly off, enough to irritate me anyway! So had to gently prise it off and re-seat it. Second hit was perfect. The bubbles smoothed out easily with my thumb pressure.
I've had IntelliArmor products before and as with all glass protection I've owned in the past, they are the ultimate screen protection and offer so much more then plastic ones. The best advantage for me though is that your finger feels like its on the actual screen as plastic protectors can give differing feeling under the finger.
I've been unlucky enough to drop my phone before onto a hard surface and if it were not protected by a glass screen protector, I'm confident the screen would have shattered. Instead the screen was fine below the shattered and chipped glass protector. So I've had first hand experience that glass protectors do the job. I've no reason to believe any different of this product, without me chucking my Shield on the floor - which I won't do for a review!
The glass is not too thick and plays nicely with the Official Nvidia case which is an added bonus as not all glass protectors play well with flip style cases. Fortunately this one does.
My only gripe at the moment is when swipe typing. It currently seems a bit hindered by the glass protector. However, I need more time with it as I'm not 100% convinced it has all to do with the protector.
If you're in the market for a Shield screen protector, then I highly recommend the IntelliGlass. Worth the extra £'s in my humble opinion.

The protector comes well packaged in a book style packaging. You get everything you'll need inside to make applying the protector a breeze. Includes:
- protector
- dust removal sheet
- alcohol wipe
- lint free cloth

Ah! Ok no problem.
No I've not experienced any dust gathering underneath the edges. It's a pretty good seal once it's on.

Tempered glass protector issue??

So I'm a true believer in tempered glass screen protector because it saved me in thousands. I bought some cheap one even before the phone came out to use until the proper one comes out. This one is just square to cover the viewable screen. I bought two of them and both of them doesn't adhere at the bottom corners on two different phones. I went online to do some digging and found that most if not not all have the same issue and all sellers showing full screen cover does a bait and switch and send out the very exact same square ones.
I'm now beginning to wonder... Is this because all sellers have same batch of cheap stuff that doesn't fit or is it because G5 screen isn't perfectly flat? (never mind the curve on top) it seems the glass used on G5 is more flexible because when you press hard on it you can see the LCD distortion in some spots. In normal use it should not matter and I guess it was necessary to make the top curvature but it can also mean that when the the glass and LCD assembly can become "curvy".
Has anyone applied tempered glass protector yet? How did your application experience go? And if you had a successful one, please share the info of the product you used. NO LINKS.

The glass screen is indeed squishy. This is expected. The G4 was curved. I expect squishy glass is less likely to shatter.

That's the concern I have. I really hope that the cheap, mocked up protector is the issue and not the screen. Top is fine since we know there's curve. We need more owners to provide their experience but may be there aren't that many who purchased the early version of the protectors knowing they would not fit well?
Sent from my LG-H820 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I got my glass screen protector at at&t and installed there, i thought that i was rid of the issue that the protector would not come up at the edges but a week and a half it came up and now i removed the protector and clean it and cleaned the screen and used some clean water to put it on and then i had no issue about the protector coming off at the edges
There's another thread: Here where the same issue is experienced.
I wonder if this is with all G5s or is this just the Titan color that has this issue as some user mention they have Silver devices without the issue.
Tried 3 different suppliers for tempered glass protector and they all did this. I think it's the screen not the protectors.
I installed a cheap square screen protector and am waiting for a "real" one to show up. Currently on order, but taking longer than they originally said. With the one I have on now, I found that you have to install is slightly above the bottom of the screen to be sure it doesn't interfere with the lower, removable pieces of the phone. When I put it on just slightly higher than I wanted to it fit OK. It took me a bunch of tries and the lower right corner has a small bubble in it, but I attributed that to my several installation attempts. The three other corners are fine.
Just got a Yootech Premium glass protector on Amazon last week. It's curved for the tip, so it's a film glasses protector. No issues whatsoever. Fit/alignment is perfect. They even painted the to pay black, so there's no light bleed or distortion there. I'm really happy with it.
I mean, it's a very simple thing to do accidentally. I feel like it's always a 50/50 shot when I try to put down a screen protector bubble-free.
I haven't tried a protector on the G5, but I did have one on the very curved G4 with no issues.

Same product same results here. I waited for yootech to replace the cheap glass protector I bought at launch. I had great results on the G4 with this brand.
+1 on the Yootech. I got one and it is great. At first it looked like there was a light film in one spot between the protector and screen, but it went away in a couple hours.

Same problem ..I used Ringke screen protector
Hello everyone,
It's my first purchase of an LG device as I've always been HTC. The G5 is an amazing phone, hats off to LG for doing a great job. However, it's the worst phone when it comes to fitting a screen protector. I've purchased 5 so far. First 3 turned out to be a more bespoke cut glass at the top section to fit around the camera and underneath the speaker (all happened to be same brand from 3 different sellers, but they all had the same issue. Top section wouldn't adhere and bottom right corner too.
Bought two square protectors that just fit the visible screen and that's slightly better but small areas won't adhere, again top bottom right being the main culprit. Luckily I've been able to get refunded for the poorly fitting protectors but I'm getting fed up of having to change them every few days. I've never had such issue with fitting a protector as I normally get it spot on first time.
Anyone know where I can get a proper one, cut correctly and adhere to the LG's fussy screen?
But do any of them fit with the Spigen Style Armor slide on case?? That is the burning question.
I have a gold G5 and tried 3 tempered glasses in the mall but none fitted my phone. The corners below and above has bubbles lifting the tempered glass. It is now my problem where to find a good protector.

Hi, thanks for the help! But i cannot sign up on this amazon page because it's in german not all are being translated into english
Screen is curved
Just wanted to update you there is not a screen protector that is glass which fits the LG G5 because the screen is curved slightly in the bottom corners. This is an issue which the accessory manufacturers are aware but apparently have no intentions of resolving . So just to be perfectly clear you will not ever find a screen protector that does not bubble on the bottom right and left hand corner unless it is a plastic screen protector.

Yet another screen protector thread...looking for one without black edges that's good

The title pretty much covers it. I see many questions on this, but no definitive answers. I tried the official one but returned it since it would cover the edges of the screen. Bought one off of Amazon that said it didn't do that, but it did as well.
So simply, I'm looking for one that won't cover the screen is good quality. Simple enough, no?
I bought this case by Nillkin for my phone and it came with a free screen protector film (not a glass protector) and I find it pretty decent. I didn't find any issues with fingerprints on it.
You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-Nill...=1504853058&sr=8-3&keywords=oneplus+5+nillkin
The Nillkin TGSP is probably the most compatible at the moment but it does have the larger gap around the edges, I've still got mine applied, hoping for more luck with the Rhinoshield case and a full face protector as the case is supposed to be much more compatible with them, my advice would be to go for the Nillkin until we all find the perfect replacement.

Thanks. Looks interesting particularly the all transparent version, curved edges and its cheap enough to experiment. There is no indication on where the adhesion is and no specific mention of a Oleophoic coating but describes an anti-fingerprint coating. I currently have the under screen dust issue with my Orzly tgsp but I love the feel of that screen so am looking for a alternative protector with similar finger feel.
I'm suspecting that my bumper case is causing the Orzly's issue as the dust only comes from the volume rocker area and likely due to the case pushing the Orzly's edge when pressed. Maybe this alternate protector with the curved edges would not have the same issue, while the all transparent version would likely have no issues cutting off the screen view unless the curved edge causes some undesirable optical effect.
If you get one please post your observations.

Well I post it here because I was looking if somebody already bought it. I have orzly with I'm happy however it have rainbow effect in the middle and sometimes it's quiete visible. My friend told me that he bought that one from link I sent (with black borders) and he is told me he don't have rainbow effect or cutted screen.. so i don't know
Like you I'm more interested in the transparent one as I don't know why there is even a black version on any of them.
On my Orzly I've seen the rainbow effect but only when the screen is at an unusual angle while wiping the surface clean but never when using the phone normally. It's only the dust that is driving me crazy. I'm even considering going with just my bumper case and no protector but I'll wait a while before going that route.
This one looks interesting (not glass though), quite clever application method, reminds me of the default screen protector that comes with the phone that a lot of people seem to like
Ringke Invisible Defender Screen Protector
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Invisible-Guaranteed-Compatible-Clearness/dp/B074137YDH/
Just read the Amazon reviews and they're not that positive.
I still have to receive my oneplus 5. Would you guys recommend keeping the pre-applied film with the orzly bumper over any screenprotector that's on the market now?

i just want clear protective glass that covers the whole screen. anything similar to whitestone dome protective glass (for s8) would be great.
I bought the one from Nillkin until a better one came along. However it was pure garbage. It didn't fit the whole screen and the top notch was way off center. But the main reason I threw it in the trash was there was the entire right side would not stick to my phone. There was a good 1/8" section all along the right edge that was not sticking and just looked like crap.
Finally the almost perfect tgsp.....

Almost perfect is because its not fully adhesive. Only perimeter adhesive.
so dust will appear along the sides and rainbow will appear sooner or later.

Got it, but wich brand produce this one? Just to look around
No brand packaging on it...i would stay away from non full adhesive due to it attracts dust and rainbow effect. I would rather use a full adhesive tgsp eventhough it will block few mm from the sides
This is the best I found for now. Not full covered but minimal bars on the side and almost no rainbow effect. After 2 weeks no dust at all.

Pixel 4a Screen Protectors

Got a Pixel 4a in yesterday and a couple screen protectors. Here are my thoughts on them, in case this is useful for somebody.
[3 Pack]OMOTON Screen Protector for Google Pixel 4a, Easy-Install/Bubble Free/Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Pixel 4a
jaxidian said:
This screen protector has no cutout for the front-facing camera. They claim it's because a cutout causes the glass to break much more in that area. There is a bit of a notch for the earpiece speaker. It does come with a snap-on mounting guide to help you easily center the TGSP while installing. While it's not "full coverage", it does cover the full usable area of the screen. There is no adhesive, it does the suction/static cling thing that most screen protectors do today. I had some issues with some air bubbles that were always there (not from dust - I assume from imperfectly flat glass) but we'll give it a couple days to see if they go away. The screen protector fits nicely with a Caseology Parallax case with just a smidgen of a gap between the case and screen protector on all sides. The clarity and feel of the screen protector is just fine. I'm going to reserve judgment on whether or not this is a good permanent screen protector, but I definitely recommend this as a "cheap and good enough for now until we discover the great ones".

Good to hear about the Omoton. I was pretty satisfied with the one on my OnePlus 6T. Got it perfect the first time, no lint or bubbles underneath, and it's still that way a month later. That's what I ordered for the 4a that's on the way.
Bought a "Lightning King" (L[emoji298]K) for a 3a off Amazon for cheap. You get three glass protectors which have camera cut out. I'm very satisfied with this product... And I'm picky.

Purchased these off of Amazon and they seem okay until you try to get the edges to seal to the screen. Mine has a small gap I think because the actual screen protector is too big for the screen. So I would avoid.

Have the Omoton protector. Covers the usable screen, could be a bit wider, but it's better than their 3a protector, which distorted the edges of the display. No clarity issues, no installation issues. The cutout at the top of the screen for the speaker is unnecessarily wide. No hole punch. Reddit hasn't noticed a difference in selfie quality with/without a screen protector covering the camera.
My review of the Zagg Invisishield screen protector offered on the Google Play Store. Within 2 days of receiving the phone & applying the protector, I had thought I cracked my screen. Turned out to be the screen protector so Google is refunding me for that 40 bucks. Whew. Don't get tempered glass protectors. I hadn't dropped the phone or anything so the Zagg just decided to splinter and crack on its own.

They do make one and they're excellent. The installation is very easy with the supplied frame. It looks like it will work with pretty much any case.
I purchased the Mr. Shield screen protectors. I have had them for a few phones now and they always honor the lifetime warranty when I ask for replacements.
This one fits well. On the sides it is exactly as wide as the lit portion of the screen. No issue, but a tiny bit wider might have helped those who are not great with I stalls. Top and bottom are a little longer than the lit portion of the screen.
I will say this one does a very very good job fighting oils and fingerprints. I have not had to clean the screen once in 3 days.
Overall great price. They have great customer service and it fits well. If you have trouble installing screen protectors this one might be difficult as the width is exactly the same as the screen.

Any rainbow effect or adhesion issues on the edges?
Another down vote for Zagg. The corner with the cutout won't fully adhere to the screen.
I ordered ArmorShield. I had it on my last two phones and it was an excellent protector that lasted over two years. I had to order from the company because AMZ didn't have stock yet.

If you install it correctly it looks perfect. When you shift the phone side to side you can see one small line for the edge of pixels.
I am almost OCD about this stuff and it has not even captured my eye once. Just my 2 cents.
I got these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086V7DFPC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DiisFbB200TCM
Easy install, all good. No issue with Spigen Crystalclear case. Has a cut out for the camera, we will see how it holds up.
Have used Ailun & SuperShieldz, along with a couple of others in the past, this time I decided to give "Lightning King" (LK) a try. Got 3 in the box, along with the alignment frame and plenty of cleaning supplies for installation. Installed the first one yesterday; went on fine, perfectly aligned, crystal clear, no conflict with the Spigen Tough Armor case, and looked to be of high quality, similar to Ailun & SuperShieldz. Totally satisfied.

Yep. First time I've ever bought them with an alignment frame included - worked very well.
I've never used a screen protector before, but now that a canister of cooking spray fell and broke my 3a XL's glass and display, I have an order for a 4a Just wondering, honestly, how well tempered screen protectors actually work. My understanding is that in theory, in my situation for example, instead of the glass/display being broken, a protector would have shattered first, more than likely saving the actual phone screen. Do these protectors help a whole lot, or not all that much in real world use if stuff falls on the phone, or you drop it and are unlucky that it should fall face-down on a hard surface? I do have an order for protectors on the way this time since it seems like it can't hurt.,

Over the years, I have chipped, cracked and, in one case, shattered screen protectors; but never had the phone screen damaged. In the vast majority of those cases, I'm sure there would have been damage to the phone. I also put cases on my phones, for the same reason.

Can you show how the LK protector fits the display? Like the camera cutout and how far past the display does the protector go or does it end with the display? I have a LK protector on my 3a and it's the best fitting protector I've ever had. I have a 4a coming and want to confirm if the LK protectors fit correctly before I order.
Thank you ?
