LG G3 best cases for maximum protection? - G3 Accessories

Hello everyone, I was wondering what cases are the most protective ones for the G3.

Puregear dualtek

Looks like it can handle a drop, you know of any others?
I found about 3 more heavy duty cases: a supcase unicorn beetle pro, otterbox defender and another one which I forgot the name :/ I have no idea which one to choose and what are the pros and cons of one another.

That puregear dualtek looks awesome. Do you know if it fits well with a glass screen protector?

You have on you tube some drop test with cases on it.

Thinnest case

I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid but I am looking for a thinner case that adds less width to the phone. Minimal protection is sufficient.
I bought a Ringke slim on ebay. Hard slim case. 9.99. I love it. Adds hardly any size to phone and its cheap

Does it comes with the hole for sling? I used to have one for my Note 2. Slim and light but minimal protection.
I have all the spigen cases for the note 3, i think the best one is the bounce, the crappiest one is the neo hybrid.
And yes the thinnest is the bounce, and the thickest is the slim armor

thinnest ive found. even thinner than the Spigen air and ringke slim
search ebay for "0.3mm note 3 case". It's basically a semi hard plastic wrap/case that is super thin and only provides scratch protection. They're dirt cheap too. like $1 each. I bought a dozen and can replace them at will.

I had these on my note 2 and they were great but I couldn't find them anywhere for my note 3... I like it with no case the best but we'll see how it goes with this one. Thanks for the link.

Too much bulk... And I've had bad experiences with bumpers messing up the signal. I don't really care about drop protection, just want to protect it from scratches and dirt.
Diztronic is the thinnest TPU I've used, it was ten bucks shipped from Amazon and fits in the holster that the Seido surface uses.

Agreed.. I've tried both caseology cases and also bear motion bumpers.. and some other ones. Diztronic by far the thinnest while still covering all sides of the phone.

Only the corners are protected and it's actually one of the lightest cases and since it's made of rubber you wont have signal interruptions. Only metal bumpers cause those.
Do any of the suggested covers and bumpers raise the back to protect the camera?

Just got my case today and it works great just like my Note 2 did... It's nice for scratches and covers a good part of the phone. Fits nicely and adds a nice grip to it I like better than the back.

Best case choice

I'm trying to figure out which case to buy. I bought two spegin cases. The slim armor I liked in terms of protection, but I hated the buttons on the side and how slippery it is. Also, the kickstand seemed low quality. The other one is just not offering the protection I need. I'm in a toss up between these two. Let me know what you think. I need enough protection to keep it safe, but not bulky.

If you're looking for not bulky. Look into ringke slim black or max.
Ringke slim, sf black.
It's got a great profile and full case protection against scratches. Might not be the best case to protect the phone from high drops though.
Cheap and not to bulky MOKO

Cruzerlite! Their cases are thin and offer great protection. You can YouTube videos of drop tests with the nexus 5 having the Cruzerlite case on it. It's a beast! They also feel great in hand.
Cruzerlite or TUDIA those are my two favorites , both are thin TPU cases and very durable!
Tried both the Spigen Ultra Fit and Neo Hybrid and did not like the extra bulk as its wide enough already. Bought a Dbrand skin for the back only and its perfect. Adds just enough texture so its not slippery but does not add any size to the specifically in width.

agree totally with you. i ended up with just a Skinomi matte skin. if an ultra slim clear or smoke case comes out which gives some grip but keeps the looks especially the visual of the Midnight blue back and metal sides i might reconsider. until then i'll be ultra careful!
If you're looking for a case without bulk, then get the Ringke SLIM SF Black. More grip and adds no bulk.
Although, Ultra Hybrid doesn't add any bulk very minimal in my opinion.

A tacky feeling, clear skin would be very nice.
I ran the Ringke Slim SF black for 2 days. Then my Spigen Slim Armor arrived. To be honest, the Spigen isn't impressing me that much. It makes the device feel bulky and it doesn't provide the grip the Ringke did. I might return it and get a different case with kickstand.

Spigen cases have let me down, I had both the ultra hybrid and slim armor and didn't like either one. I have a ringke fusion which I like, and I have a pure gear slim on the way.

I've got the Moko (2 of them), a Supcase on order, and just got the CF version of the Caseology off Amazon. All of them combined were still cheaper than walking into a Apple store and getting a cheap TPU case. That carbon fiber Caseology looks pretty nice in the pics.
I'm considering the Ringke Hybrid or Max, which get a lot of attention around here. The Urban Armor Gear looks good to me as well, but I haven't seen much about it. Anyone try the UAG case?
I really liked uag when I had it on my note 2. Was using their orange variant, wish that was available for the n6

Otterbox-like case?

I have a Note 3 with an Otterbox Defender case. Love it. My previous phone had a Ballistic case. I really liked it, but I like the all rubber back of the Otterbox Defenders, gives much better grip and better protection in my opinion.
Is there anything similar for the Nexus 6 right now? I ordered a Foscom Rugged one off Amazon, the outside is a hard plastic and the inner softer shell feels really rigid.
Might want to look at the seidio dilex if otter box doesn't have one yet. I can't think of any other otter box type cases really as I prefer slimmer gear.
I ordered this case from Amazon and really like it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OHFGMGU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The best case for nexus 6 is the ballistic tough max. It's more like an otter box then any case available. Also my otter box that I had for my droid maxx before switching to nexus 6 wasn't rubber on the back? The plastic part clips over the rubber just like ballistic. So I'm confused. But anyways ballistic is way to go on nexus 6.

Otterbox has several series. Commuter is rubber touching the phone, then a hard plastic shell on the back. The Defender series has the hard plastic touching the phone, then encased in a rubbery shell.
Depends on which kind of Otterbox you mean, really.
I overviewed some two-piece cases (i.e., inner sleeve + outer frame) which have similar characteristics to the bigger Otterbox styles, for example.
The Supcase and Ballistic Max cases mentioned above are also within the same ballpark.

The Trident Aegis and Seidio Dilex resemble the Commuter. I have the Dilex. It does add some thickness and weight but its solid.

I always gauge the thickness by the cutout around the camera. Holy cow that thing's a vault!

I really don't like the smooth plastic backs of those types of cases. I do have a Supcase for my IPad. I agree it offers the same or better protection as an otterbox at a fraction of the price. I got the Foscom and it's pretty nice. I also ordered a Ballistic Tough Maxx. I know it's also smooth on the back, but I had one for a different phone and the dimples in it help give it some grip.

I have this case too. I like it for the most part, but I'm thinking of getting either the Supcase or Ballistic. The recesses in the back add some grip, but i feel the TPU material is harder than it needs to be and will transfer more energy from an impact, and the N6 is a heavy phone...
I think the trident aegis is as close to otterbox as you can get, it's a good case. An unseen benefit of the aegis is it sits flat so if you use the phone while its on a table it won't rock like a curved back does.
Otterbox
Has anyone else tried contacting Otterbox to see if they plan to develop a case for the Nexus 6? They seem to develop cases based on interest, or at least that's what I was told when I called them to ask. So I would advise anyone else interested in an Otterbox to contact them and ask when they plan to release one.

Don't think they 're going to start making a case because a few people from XDA want it. I'm sure they're looking at sales figures from Google and Motorola to see how many people own one.

They would never make a case for a phone this late in the device's life cycle.
You never owned a note 3 then, cases didn't start flowing until months later.

My case is very similiar to the second case except transparent and works really well, have unicorn beetle case (bit like otterbox) before and it used to look like I had a giant erection when i went anywhere so had to switch as I was getting some funny looks at work, but not with new case (case i have http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JW7AYYE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00 phone feels very safe and sturdy in this case. but looks very similar to your second case)
the first case looks like it might rub in pockets but looks a lot better for grip.
Personal preference would be the second case for me
I had the puregear for my g2 and loved it. Very minimal bulk, great protection and added grip. I would love one for my Nexus 6.

Thoughs on Supcase for S7. Good protection?

I got the Defender for the S7 and I actually like the case and it's rare but the screen protector actually fits pretty flush. Still not the best but improvement from past Defenders.
Anyways what is the Supcase/Unicorn Beetle like for the S7? I had one for the Note 5 and it was okay and had a great built in screen protector but the case felt kind of thin protection wise. Is the S7 one any good and offer good drop protection compared to the Otterbox Defender?

I just ordered one just now. I have the otterbox symmetry which is kind of thin but the supcase unicorn beetle had excellent reviews for the price and I miss using a holster. Will update once it comes in.
I have the Supcase Unicorn Beetle and definitely recommend it. It does not have a screen protector.
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Unicorn-Premium-Protective-Samsung/dp/B01BLIBRGA
That's the edge one. I had it for the Note 5 and it's an okay case but it's thin and doesn't have a lot of padding like the Otterbox. The build quality on it isn't nearly as good as the Defender for the S7 and there are also some bad reviews about Supcase breaking and the phone breaking.
Alright I finally got the unicorn beetle pro or whatever it's called. The protection it offers is better then my otterbox symmetry. The built in screen protector is flush against the screen so touches are responsive. It's a great case but I would not recommend it because you are unable to swipe from off the screen to check your notifications of you're playing a game. Look elsewhere

Yea, my Otterbox Defender is like that too, a bit harder to swipe down. Not a huge deal though just takes a tad more effort. I had the Supcase for my Note 5 and yes the built in protector is great. I still might order it, don't know. It just doesn't seem to offer the level of protection the Otterbox Defender has for drops.
Poetic Revolution is a great heavy duty case too. It will be coming out on Amazon April 30th. Incipio has the Level 5 drop protection case coming out soon that looks better than the Supcase.
I have the unicorn beetle pro. it is a little difficult to swipe in from the sides, but can still do it. Swipe from the top is easy since entire notification bar is exposed. At first I had the phone without cover, so after I put in cover I had to redo the finger prints cause was difficult to read. Guessing the angle of the finger is just a tad different. I also like that it makes the phone bigger, easier to hold for me.
