Could someone please post a T-Mo QCN file from their SGS5 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I am trying to make changes to my AT&T SGS5 to enable T-Mobile bands, so that I can get HSPA+ instead of EDGE off of my non-refarmed tower.
This would be similar to the process of restoring a changed QCN to effect NV programming like they were able to do on SGS4 (see this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb0iCtG4T6I)
Note that I can make NV changes, but I just need a good T-Mobile G900T QCN file to work from (again, mine is AT&T G900A...)
Feel free to remove (using any hex editor) your IMEI from line 550 for your protection.
Instruction for how to pull your QCN using QPST can be found in the video and also here...: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589
No bricking, warranty is not void, and no knox is tripped when you do this via backup, but you must be rooted to get to the USB service menu *#0808# and if you are rooted, you already know what you are doing with your phone...
Much, much appreciated. Thank you

I'm gonna give it a go right now but if I run into to any issues it will have to wait till the morning. By the way you might have wanted to post this in the q/a section or general this thread will defenitley be moved considering there are 2 post in the development thread that shouldnt be there

Thanks SpiroDave!

The *#7284# does not work on my dialer . It says unable to process request. I dont have anymore time tonight but if you want to search in the meantime for a solution for what I need to enter in my dialer that would help

Without IMEI, it's just a config file, so if it's all the same to you, you could also post it here so that it can help those who are hacking the next level of greatness with out phones...

Do you need it as a qcn or will the config file work for you. After I edit it in winhex and save it , I can figure out how to save as qcn or if that is even possible.? I haven't used Qpst in a long time . It is a very helpful tool where the limits are endless

Hey I just put up a different config file . The first one I just deleted the IMEI without replacing with zeros . I just changed the link in the previous post where I replaced the imei with zeros.

I have a qcn file in my work at the service center when I get there I can give you one for T-Mobile and one for AT&T if you need them just let me know

I pulled one from my phone about a week ago and sent it to him. You might want to post the QCN here for others to use if you still have it handy

Yes, would you please post your QCN file. I am interested in comparing RF configuration among T-Mobile QCN's too - very curious if it varies (and of course it should vary between radio updates)..
Thanks,
JJ.

Could either of you use NV-reader-writer to dump your NV items 551-7000 (you will bypass NV 550 IMEI), so you would not need to worry about hiding it.
Spirodave - your QCN stopped at NV 5895 and I am not sure if this is all your phone has or if it's an issue with QPST not getting these out. NV 6000-7000 is the LTE band configuration info and not having these would tell me that your phone does not have LTE, which I am sure is not true...
Many thanks, JJ

OK I will be uploading both qcn tomorrow morning once I get to work.

Thanks. If possible, I would also ask you both to dump your NV 500-7225 using NV-reader-writer and then zero-out NV 550 (IMEI). This way it is actually possible to do comparison using a Merge tool, which saves a ton of time. But QCN file is still important, because it provides item descriptions... [WIP] R800x .368 .42 .62 Service Attempt

I have been trying to get service on the .368 or .42 or .62 firmware. So far I have only been able to boot the systems and play around with the apps and settings. I made a backup of each system and am sharing them here so that other r800x users can flash and mess around with the newer systems and that maybe someone smarter then me can figure out, if even possible, how we can get service on these systems as the cdma patch does not work on these. You will be able to use most of everything minus having no service what so ever.
Below are the links to each backup, Before flashing please make a backup of your current system if you dont have one already. All of these will boot with "Unknown Baseband" and "No Service"
Please read everyting before you install any of these
4.0.A.2.368 (2.3.3)
http://www.mediafire.com/?u04dbhea359gm8w
The [.368] R800x backup was made while on the .368 DoomKernel which you will find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16291835&postcount=3
You will want to use the same kernel or you wont have any hardware buttons
4.0.2.A.0.42 (2.3.4)
http://www.mediafire.com/?ic33qd61ck39up6
4.0.2.A.0.62 (2.3.4)
http://www.mediafire.com/?idihgb2hdn928hf
EDIT : Will update backups
The [.42] and [.62] R800x Backups were made using the "Testing" CDMA DoomKernel V10 which you will find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21948440&postcount=126
~You will want to use the same Kernels as I did or you may not have any hardware buttons~
Maybe someone can help with this part, the cdma patch is already known not to work on these systems, So I decompiled the SemcPhone.apk from the cdma patch zip file and compared all the smali files in smali folder to all the smali files in the [.62] decompiled smali folder I found some differences and I am posting a zip file of:
-all the smali files that were IN the cdma patch smali folder that were not in the [.62] smali folder
-a List of smali files that the [.62] smali folder HAD that the cdma patch smali folder did NOT have.
- the [.62] AndroidManifest.xml because it to had differences
The zip of differences can be found here http://www.mediafire.com/?kuv8x82vhthgp9c
Also Im posting a zip file containing the lib files from the 2.3.3 Verizon system which should be our Baseband files ( I could be wrong on which files are the baseband from our r800x), that can be found here http://www.mediafire.com/?afx0unj80ne1r2z
This is basically where I am at with getting service on newer Uk firmware for our r800x, I would gladly love anyones input and/or ideas. If Im wasting my time and someone who knows more then me already knows this wont ever work please let me know! I hope I made everything clear on what it all is and what Im trying to do, thanks for reading and any insight on service
I'm looking forward to seeing the progress that you'll make here. I hope you can find a working resolution.
Me too, I dont know much about the breakdown of ROMs but I will cross my fingers and think happy thoughts.
I have an ignorant question: what keeps you from flashing only the verizon baseband after flashing these other firmwares?

I already tried, I flashed only the baseband from the 2.3.3 verizon ftf and copied over the 2.3.3 lib files manually aswell. Still says "unknown baseband" Did I do anything wrong?

Ah, porting a rom from one model to the other is especially a ***** when they have a different baseband. I attempted it myself once, but I failed miserably...
Good luck with this btw, I hope you get somewhere with it

~In your [WIP][CDMA] MIUI for the R800x , on page 3, last post on the page, you said you were gonna try a port from the Evo 4g because "it is the only one with the same baseband (htc anyway)"~
Would I be wasting my time downloading / messing around with the baseband files for the Evo 4g to help me out with this project? Or does that not even make sense in my case? Im just trying to "try" everything and anything that may help

They should be all the same, but I tried the CM7 ril libs in the .62 rom and I still had service. I think it is more in terms of the phone.apk and stuff
Because the phone app seems to do more than it lets out, I think it also handles communications with the baseband and not just your dialer - but I could be wrong, I have as much knowledge as you do on this
Keiran
i don't know if it's phone.apk as much as /system/app/SemcTelephonyProvider.apk ...

The libs I posted in my zip are from a clean full ftf flash of verizon 2.3.3 firmware on my phone, they should work for all r800x since that's what they are from.
I'm gonna look into the telephonyprovider app it could be a piece of the puzzle I haven't discovered yet, I think the phone.apk is handling most of it because the cdma patch has only a semcphone.apk in it, but maybe the newer firmwares will need a patched phone apk and telephony apk.

The numeric is your apns MCC+MNC.
For example my carriers mcc is 310 and the mnc is 004. So my build.prop numeric should be 310004.
---------- Post added at 01:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:25 PM ----------
Also have you tried opening the voice dialer app, say "open apns" and then adding your apn. Make sure to name it, hit save and highlight the little circle out to the side to select that apn.
where do I edit this?

The easiest way is the use ES File Explorer (or other file manager). Make sure to turn on Root Explorer, Up to Root, and Mount File System in the settings.
Then browse the the /system and you should see a file called build.prop. Make sure to back up this file (copy and put on your computer). Open the build.prop on your phone and find the line that looks similar to this "ro.cdma.home.operator.number=" there will be a number after the = sign. See if it matches the number from your apn. If not then change it to your numeric and hit save.
---------- Post added at 02:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ----------
You may need to restart your phone. Then try mms. If it doesn't work then add you apn manually using the voice dialer method.

I did this and still not work... - BTW I'm using right now - JB 4.1.2 - Psycho-M4-vivow ROM - but this happened also with other ROMs that previously installed -
I still don't get it - understand how really MMS work? if I'm able to browse the internet and get 3G data connection - could I redirect MMS to go like an email using 3G data connection....
Please somebody help me to understand....
Thanks

Look up MetroPCS's apns (google is your friend) and see if the apn matches the apn found in /etc. Again you'll have to turn on root explorer and mount file system.
Send me a link to the rom you're using and I can see if the apns match MetroPCS for you.

Try adding your apn using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2053705 (take a look at the backup file that you had from stock) and see if that will get it to work on the CM10 rom you're on right now.
Send me the link to the rom you want to try and I can see if I can edit it before you flash it. I assume you just flash a new rom and gapps through CWM or TWRP recovery?

OK try this. I edited that build for metrics. Just flash it + gapps. https://www.box.com/shared/4q62y4p842xz1rihx5x4
Make a backup first!
Then once it has booted follow these steps to add an apn. https://www.box.com/shared/9oewrge4e4vy6x2bgxhz

Hmm if you want just take a look at your stock mms apn or send it too me and I can add that to the rom before you flash it.. Maybe I didn't quite have the correct settings for MetroPCS mms apn.
So can you not just use the Voice Dialer app to open apns?
You're welcome on the rom mod for Metro, it's always nice when it shows your carrier instead of Verizon

I'm not sure why the modified mms.apk is needed. Someone has apparently made some edits to the mms.apk to get it to work with MetroPCS. You'd probably have the best luck posting which edits were made to the mms.apk. You could try taking a look at the base mms.apk and then looking at the edited mms.apk to see what was changed.
I assume it would work with other roms as long as they are based on the same source (i.e. JB). You can always try it and if it doesn't work then go about getting a newer modified mms.apk file for the version of android you are flashing.

Kyocera Hydo ELITE system APKs needed

Not alot of info on this somewhat new phone under Verizon. I rooted the Hydro Elite last night and immediately started cleaning up the Verizon bloatware. I must have went a little crazy and removed an APK from the system/app folder that is required for the phone function to run. I am now just getting FC's on 'com.android.phone' when not in airplane mode. Tried a factory reset to no luck, tried some APK restores from similar models, etc. In my arrogance of thinking I know what I am doing I did not backup the APK's I removed from the system/app folder. Normally this would be no big deal, I could just pull them from the ROM image, or reload an image, or whatever. But, it seems Kyocera or Verizon have absolutely no self-help ROM's on the net to reinstall nor has any custom ROMs been developed for this phone yet.
This is my cry for help.....
If there is anyone who has a Kyocera Hydro Elite (the new one) that could so kindly ZIP up their system/app folder for me I would HIGHLY appreciate it. So highly, in fact, I will buy you a lunch, dinner, or whatever it takes!

Can anyone confirm if there is any truth that the fsg and backup partitions contain backups of the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions?
I only have a backup of efs, fsg, and modem partitions and I think I need to get my modemst1 and/or modemst2 partitions restored. Everything works except I seem to have lost my 4G/LTE Band information for US Cellular.
I cannot recall if I did a nvbackup but I had read somewhere that it could be possible I do have backup of modemst1 and modemst2 already.
How can I check if I have good backups before doing an nvrestore?
This is on a Galaxy S4 Mini (SCH-R890).

okay so I managed to un-**** mine. what you do is first ensure your phone is off, then hold down the volume down button then press and hold the home/power button until you get the restore mode screen. using your volume up and down to navigate and using thelock/power button to confirm, reseteverything it gives you the option to. from there reboot and it should be okay if our problems were in fact the same.

Also I'd like to work on figuring out a bypass so we can get cyanogenmod ported on to the Volt 2. Where would the best place br to start looking for a bypass method?

Did you have your phone rooted???
Yet another user of the Boost Lg Volt 2 chiming in.
I managed to brick mine and a hard reset isn't cutting it.
I need a rom for this phone. Any rom at all, stock, rooted, unrooted, I'm not picky.
I supplicate the knowledgeable to make a rom, please.
try stylo
I bricked my volt 2 today , tried LG G Stylo guide (it is the same chip), this one works for me. my volt 2 is back and rooted!

Did anyone ever figure this out? I'm in need of the stock ROM also. Any help would be great.
