Vehicle Install - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Accessories

Just installed my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 in my truck. I got the holder at Padholdr.com I just received an email for a discount code, the code is "Seahawks". I love how easy the installation process was.

So is this some kind of ad spam or what?

Looks really safe bud... Giant tablet on the dash, beer can in the cup holder, what can go wrong?

It is going to be highly amusing to watch this idiot try to fit a 12.2" tablet into a 9.7" holder.
If I was not so preoccupied with your blatant lack of any sort of observational skills, I would be pointing out to you that this is not the Galaxy Tab 4 board. Also, the tablet in the screenshot is clearly an ipad.
You have the observational skills of a kebap. Congratulations, you've managed to find the internet. Now run along, this is not ebay.

the irony! you mock the guy for lack of observational skills, then state its clearly an ipad  :crying: if you look closely its a pretty obvious its a tab 4 and not an ipad!!
seriously before mocking someone, its best to ensure what your saying is also correct... credit where is due, you got its not a note pro and its not the tab 4 board correct

I wasn't aware the Tab 4 had a round button. On another look it actually looks like something else entirely, because it has two buttons, one on the bottom and one on the right. I asked, Samsung doesn't know what the hell this tablet is supposed to be.

Ah. That picture is so much clearer. In the other it looks more like a cut out hole for the button than an emblem. Ta!

How are you showing off your gnote?

So, as you are all probably aware of by now, this phone gets people's attention. Anywhere I pull it out strangers come up to me and ask me about it. I tell them it's like a cross between a phone and a tablet and then I show it to them in action. I usually show them the split pane email screen and then a screen grab along with some annotations with the spen.
What functions or apps are you using to show the note's capabilities to strangers with short attention spans?
Careful now, u don't wanna have one of those strangers grab it and run.

I build / repair computers so I get a lot of traffic daily and everyone here knows I like to be an early adopter of everything. I don't make it a point to show it off, but if someone see's me using it and ask about it. I'll pitch it like a salesman would. The screen size and vividness usually grabs peoples attention. As far as apps, It's android, the only novelty is the s-pen. I will let people use it that I know are responsible while they are in the shop.

That was actually one of the reasons I refused to get an iphone - the iphone people running around showing off STUPID apps. I thought they looked like tools.
Lightsabers or whatnot.
If someone approaches me about the Note, though I do want to show how great it is. I want it to do well, and I want to kind of steer people away from all the STUPID Note ads.
The biggest oos and ahhs come from:
1) Playing video - best to use a HD one already on your sd card. (youtube is lower quality)
2) The keyboard - I often hand my phone to people to let them type their contact info. They very often say, 'wow.... this keyboard sure is nice'
I use thumb keyboard 4's 5" layout, max landscape height. Very comfortable.
While I talk about the note I casually do:
3) Games - I like to show puzzle quest 2, since it is very dense graphically with statistical numbers. Casually mention that playing it on a small screen is just painful.
4) Google Maps is always impressive, especially if you demo GPS lock.
5) For 'readers - amazon kindle, minimum size font/minimum margins is very impressive. Tons of text, and very readable.
I never show off the stylus to be honest.
- Frank
Well I showed mine off to a AT&T corporate guy and got a job interview for at&t business sales from it.

A thread to mock them all!

So I got my Galaxy Note today, and as soon as I got home, I put it under my electron microscope, and to my dismay, I noticed nano scratches! I wanted to reach out to everyone to see if they noticed this flaw on their phones. I was considering using hydrochloric acid and a high speed belt sander to remove them. The only problem is, they are so small, they can't be seen with the nakid eye, and I dont know what to do. I paid $300 for this phone, and I find this flaw to be totally unacceptable. My phone should be absolutely, 100% perfect! I contacted Samsung about this issue, and they told me to suck it.
I guess it's off to AT&T, where I will open and inspect every single Note, until I find the perfect one. If they won't exchange it for me, I will lie and commit fraud to get my way!

Well played.
I'll take your messed up Note off your hands for $20. You pay shipping, though.
Kinda' funny.
You know, people can hate on iSheep all they want, but the fact is most of Apple's phones are PERFECT and uniform. Why do I mention this? Simple, the bar has been raised significantly for aesthetics and performance. Small amounts of burn-in, tiny amounts of black crush, overzealous memory use, uneven component quality -- with rare exception, iPhones don't suffer from any of this. While Samsung clearly has the better phone overall, bits and pieces still lag far behind.
P.S. I love my Note.

To add to what the OP was saying, at least how it appears to me; I bought my phone the day it came out, I just couldn't wait until October until my contract would have let me upgraded. Went down to the At&t store, bought it. They had NO accessories for it, cases, screen protectors, nothing. Anyway back at the house I played with the Note for about 4 hours solid that night, running quadrant, downloading different apps, games; Anything I could think of I did, I gave my phone "electrical" hell that night.
Next day I went on eBay found a case for $9, screen protector for $5, got a mhl adapter and 2 generic spare batteries and a host cable. Later that evening the 1st un-official rom was released for the Note. I didn't have a second thought, downloaded Odin and flashed away, in fact been doing that ever since.
Then I started reading post on here: Hair line cracks on Note, black banding issues, sound woes, etc...
I guess I am wired different than everyone else; If I buy something, and it looks ok, functions ok and was what I wanted to begin with i'm happy. I am not a person that will nitpick something to death like someone with OCD on crack, it's just not me.
If a stranger is watching me use my phone and wants to check it out, I don't mind handing it over for them to try out. I take care of what I have but I don't baby it either, it gets used.
[ Just checked my flash counter and i'm up to 38 Odin flashes plus how ever many I have done with cwm. I wonder if i can get up to 100 ]

Not everybody needs links cause they are too lazy to type in a search bar. I put very easy instruction on how to find the clones so if you cannot follow them its your fault. Back to the topic, I found two clones one has a 5.0 inch screen and one has a 5.3 inch screen. After you type "galaxy not clone" in your search bar they will both come up on the first page of results. I think one is called "hdc i9220 galaxy note" but not sure what the other is called but its made by a company called Kente.

Ive actually played with a knock off iphone 4 before. Let me tell you...its way different. The software is awful. The hardware feels cheap. The fitments didnt match up correctly. The only thing that was cool was the dual sim option. If you travel overseas a lot, the dual sim option comes in handy. For the price, theres no complaining. Remember, the iphone might be the best selling phone in the US but the Sgs2 is the best selling in other countries. So yes, the Note has some success in popularity. Imagine if the Note was released on all 4 carriers in the US...I would think the 5 million shipped would be easily 10 million.

You Guys Think I Should Pick One Up?

El Diablo just officially turned on LTE for my part of Ohio. (I've had it on my 900 since day one, with fantastic speeds.) SGS3 feels like a disappointment, it feels like a beefier Nexus. I have one of those bolted to my HDTV.
This guy just really intrigues me. I'm afraid of a refresh though. I hate GB and those damn buttons on the bottom. But. I'm bored. Thoughts?

Should you get a Note? I don't have LTE where I live and more than likely won't until 2090. But there are sooooo many other things I love about my phone.

If you're afraid of a refresh, you'll never buy anything, because the next best thing is always just around the corner. Forget what might be coming (especially if they haven't announced anything about it) and get what you think is going to work for you.
I personally like the buttons, but I can see how some wouldn't. Anyway, they are easy to live with.
Finally ... GB. Haven't run GB in weeks. There's a couple very stable ICS roms out there for the flashing. I wouldn't even bother going back to GB at this point.
Go to the store and try the demo. If you like it, walk out with one. If not, get the one x.

I honestly wouldn't, I feel like this phone is way too big and not very practical. There are great ROMs out there and the phone does have some bright points but I would much rather have a Nexus or something similar.
I should say I work out a lot and the Note has not been good for me in those regards, it's just too big to be comfortable. Also I have a lot of signal issues with this phone that have made me less than happy with it.
Just my experience though...

Eh, bottom line is what are your priorities? Don't think I saw what you were looking for in the original post. For me, I'd still have something with a real qwerty keyboard. I can't type with an iPhone to this date as it is just too small. When the Streak showed up, it was the first device with no physical keyboard I ever could deal with. The Note is the next step. As a bonus, it is the first Android device I ever saw or used that rivaled the ease of use of an iPhone (keyboard notwithstanding). Also the first device I had that weaned many of my iSheep friends away from the dark side. So far, all the converts are happy too. From lauding screen size, to app store choices, to not being annoyed about the speed of the device, they have all been happy.
So, what are you looking for?
As others have alluded to, posting something like this on the Note forum will yield predictably positive responses. Honestly, in this forum its approached i-Fan-like levels of blind following and I was surprised to see someone suggesting you not get it.
Am I happy with mine? Oh, hell yeah. Would I go to anything else? Um, nope. Unless the Note 2 ever shows up, and does something so much better than this thing. I'm currently looking to get a backup one, just in case. Even with as hard as Samsung is pushing this thing, the size isn't for most... I won't hold my breath (despite 5 million sold) that this becomes as popular as the iSheeplephone. I've got 2 Streaks on the shelf for the same reason.... Love the form factor.
I've been thinking about the Note for a while now. I tried to make a Pros/Cons list on whether to buy one or not, and ended up being a draw. Currently I've got a Galaxy Nexus.
I love the HUGE Screen, but it's still very "Samsung-y".
I like the big battery, but just bought an extended battery on my Nexus.
The Camera is really good, but not as quick as the one on my Nexus.
If I buy it, I'll have to extend my contract for 3 years, If I don't, I don't extend my contract.
There seems to be a counterpoint to every point in its favour.
All smart ass comments aside this is the best phone I've ever owned.

I was really up in the air about getting my note, I spent weeks debating it. Eventually I said screw it, I play around on my tiny galaxy S all day long -- the big screen will be so much better, so I got one and the big screen was so much better.
and I lived happily ever after.

Galaxy Gear Smartwatch - Use or Sell

I have a Galaxy Gear Smart watch coming from ATT courtesy of a new Note3 and a shiny new 2yr contract
What does this accessory really do?
Surely it will cater to some groups more than others.
I don't know if I should keep this thing, or sell it and get my kids more xmas presents.
Does anyone here on this site have any experience using this accessory?
What do you find useful, what do you not?
It has it's own forum. Go here and read all about it.

i think that you can sell it, coz it's only toy, too much electromagnetic radiation to the body at all with phone, i think better sell it and buy good shweeden watches for hand
The answer to this will depends on the type of person you are.
If you are an sporty active person, then the galaxy gear might have some use to you.
If you have not already known, it has: 1. A Pedometer 2. A Heart beat sensor Build in. So combine it with the S Health (App), it can do a few fancy health monitor tricks.
Besides that...
1. A watch that can last for 10 hours before battery ran dry
2. You need to carry a phone with you in order to use most of the functions
Its like, if your phone can do all those stuffs (Except the health features), why take an extra watch with you...
Personally, I would sell it while it still has the price. I might buy it back if the price drops to $20 - 50 or something

You shouldn't comment on things you don't know about..... I have a galaxy gear and the battery life is several days due to the software upgrades pushed by sammy... If you don't believe me go check the thread, also now the galaxy gear can do and run whatever app the note 3 does ( give or take an app)

I don't know if English is NOT your first language, or if you're too simple in the head to even bother reading the "subject" of the thread.
(I was asking if you would keep it or sell it if you were too busy browbeating to take notice)
I specifically asked "what do you find useful" and you answer ... "I find it useful". C'mon dude, you're trolling, intentionally being a Richard.
I'll give you a third shot a this, ( just in case you're skipping all the text on this site, and just looking at the pictures)

See, I'm asking if anyone on this site has experience with this accessory, and would they keep it, or sell it.
(pretty simple when you actually read the text, no?)

I purchased my N3 last Monday, heard about the Tablet/Watch deal yesterday.
I called ATT yesterday and told them they owe me a watch!
The guy started with "black Friday this" and "while supplies last that" and I stopped him in his tracks !!!
"don't feed me any canned bs excuses" I said.
"You owe me a watch and I want a black one to match my N3 !!!" I said
Within 3 minutes he has the order processed and my "gear" will be here tomorrow!
He also said, "No promo for persons with weak communication skills that hijack other peoples threads"
Guess what category you fall into Deadx10? ......................... haha ........................ No Soup For You !!! :cyclops:

If you don't wear and don't need it, sell it better than keep it for collecting dust.
I bought it. Used it for 2 or 3 days. Lost desire to use or play with it. For me, it was a little gimmick, nothing more. Battery life for me was not great, not being waterproof or resistant us another drawback for me. I also thought it was not very apealling to the eye.
For now, traditional watch works better for my lifestyle. I do see these being much better in the future, as of now though, it doesn't add much convenience in my daily routine.

Damn, I missed it !!! (your point).
What was your point, I don't get it?
I asked if you would keep or sell, and you post about the battery life? Hello?
Did you decide yet?
I was running Nova too, which was definitely better than the stock setup. I just didn't really care for the watch much.
