Otterbox Defender&0.3mm tempered glass - Verizon LG G3

would using a tempered glass screen protector work with the Otterbox Defender case? I don't wanna go out and get the screen protector and it not work with the otterbox

I've done with defenders on 4 different phones, not on the G3, but just try to find a screen protector that only covers the screen and not the bezels to make it easier.

Maybe not the answer you're looking for, but I'm using an iCarez 0.2mm tempered glass screen protector (9H hardness) with a Cruizerlite BugDroid TPU case without issue. Screen protector and care do not interfere with one another despite the screen protector extending to the edges of the glass.

I'm guessing you'd recommend a 0.2mm over the 0.3mm

Even with just a 0.2mm iCarez in place sometimes I get missed touches, particularly while playing Ingress and towards the top of the screen. The 0.4mm glass Verizon sells has been reported to cause real bad touchscreen issues. I think the 0.3 ones are fine, but since 0.2mm is available and just as protective, why not go for the thinner one ?

Hi guys, which do you think is better? Matte screen protector or tempered glass? I don't really care about the clarity though, just smooth. And for case, any to recommend which does have sufficient protection? My ringke fusion transparent has been destroying my flash..
I'm also looking answer for this. Anyone can advice?
For screen protector, I use Gearmaxx tempered glass, which I absolutely love. Keeps the premium glass feel, but also offers drop protection against the screen. It also does a great job neutralizing fingerprints.
For a case, I use incipio dual pro which offers great drop protection, but doesn't add too much bulk. The black version of it also keeps the high end look of the device.

Or you can buy a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector, I bought mine for only $15, and it's absolutely worth it, orders of magnitude better than regular screen pros.
And BTW, matte screen protectors actually reduces screen quality specially in high ppi screens, so they are a big no no.
Are tempered glass 9h "matte screen"? Also, do you have protector glass for the back or do you have a casing for it? It seems there is some issue finding the right casing which allows the charge flip cover to open and has an opening for magnetic charger.

They are not matte, but seem to have a little bit less glare than the "naked" screen. They feel like the original screen, but due to the special coating are harder to get dirty and easier to clean. I used to have a matte screen protector on PDA few years ago and it was a nightmare in terms of screen clarity - pixels were distorted.

OK... The main reason why I'm looking to buy a tempered glass is get rid of it being a finger print magnet.. The protection added is nice too.

It is much better with glass screen protectors containing oleophobic coating (probably most of them, if not all). As they are so cheap, just purchase one and try it..

Most of the tempered glass protectors which I've seen had oleophobic coating. For example:

A Tempered Protective Glass or a Protective Cover?

I hate both, there's no other way to look at that, I like my phone as it is, but well scratches will come with time, that's a fact too, so I was wondering which to get. I mean if I go for a Tempered Screen Protector, could that save the display from shattering in case of an accidental drop? Or shall I be using a Protective Case? I know that the corners of a phone are the most important parts, that's where protection should be present, so am I wrong to guess that a tempered glass protector can't protect the corners? I am thinking from a phone drop point of view, not normal scratches, for normal scratches I think I don't need a tempered glass screen protector, a normal one shall do.
So what shall I aim for, a case or the other?
If it's a case then which one? I love the UAG cases for the protection it provides, but hate them for their industrial design, but I won't buy something which won't have a good amount of lip around the screen to protect it from drops and kinds. I need something simple and neat looking, low profile and lightweight and the material should be half rugged so that it won't slip out from my palms.
Thanks in advance.
Tempered glass will NOT save the screen from every drop. If it's face impact then yes most likely will save but if impact is on back of phone and no case or very slim case will Crack LCD it self. Wife's note had a super slim tpu case and LCD shattered but both glass were fine.
i always go with glass screen protector and thin tpu jelly type case. doesn't protect if like an otterbox but will be able to handle any of the minor mishaps i might have. i am very careful and treat my phones like gold so it hasn't failed me so far.
i realize there are plenty of things that setup will not protect your phone for but i can not stand to add bulk to any phone no matter how thin it starts out

Yep, you are right.
I have decided to get a Nillkin 9H tempered protector and a Spigen Neo Hybrid, I guess these will do more than fine for protection.

I don't like because the nilkin one gets fingerprints too easy.
Gonna look into others and change this one
Best one I've used so far is the xtremeguard spartan. Not as bad as others as far as smudge and prints. All though, they changed the design lately, and sold them, was hoping for them to send me the previous design.

[Q] What is the best screen protector or tempered glass for Z2?

I want to buy screen protectors (for both front and back panel). Which is better plastic or tempered glass? What experiences have you got with them? And what manufacturers do you recommend? I want a screen protector that hasn't got large cuts around the camera, just a circle for the camera and another for the flash, and on the front also just a circle for the camera and another for the sensors.
I have the this Glass-M tempered protector. Both friend and back. Haven't had any issues with it for the last one year. The main advantage is that this is slim enough to work with the magnetic dock.

If u are using a case, i recommed you the Nillkin 9H tempered glass. Come with the regular plastic for protecting the back and the camera lens. Why? If u are a case user, i dont think tempered glass back will fit ur case.
Honestly, they're all the same, I burnt through the lot of them, Nilkin, Pthink, Hero. They're all the same, I see no difference in quality and durability. I think the Pthink was most resistant to fingerprints, but not by much

I prefer matte/anti-glare screen protectors. Main reason, on glass and glossy plastic surfaces, after using for a while (15-20 minutes), my fingers start to "stick" to the glass. Not really stick, per se, but they don't glide as easily and I have to switch to a different finger. With a matte protector, I never have this issue. Also, they help cut down on reflections. There are draw backs of course. It makes the screen hard to see outdoors (but I rarely use my phone outdoors) and it does reduce brightness a little (but I don't really go over 30% or so when indoors anyway). And they do introduce a touch of graininess.
The best ones I have found are iLLumiShield and Anker. Though the Anker is the best I have used, it is not available on the Z2. I have tried many other matte films, but they all introduce too much graininess. And some affect touch response.
Here is the illumishield for the Z2. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IK46CTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the anker (not for the Z2 though) http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Hig...836544&sr=1-1&keywords=anker+matte+anti-glare

Screen protectors and cases; whatcha got?

Before I order something random from Amazon, I thought I would ask what everyone is using and what you think of it. The only post I found in any of the other threads was someone with a tempered glass screen protector who wasn't happy with the fit.

well, I have a tempered glass screen protector on it, and I am very happy with it. It is a 100 times beter than any other plastic screenprotector, as it will not scratch easily.

I also have an iPaky case bought from ali express. (Black version in my case)
Build quality is good an the case stays higher than the screen protecting it from falls.
The back is super grippy with a nice pattern.
For a screen protector i use a tempered glass one which is stronger than a normal plastic screen protector and doesn't leave bubbles after being applied. It costs a bit more than ordinary screen protectors but you can get one for as low as 1€ from Aliexpress.
I own two cases, one is a simple one with a transparent black color while the other one has an Audi sportscar drawn on it.
So here is what I got:
Aksberry tempered glass screen protector
Pros:
good fit
Tempered glass does seem very hard
rounded edges don't catch on things (like pockets)
Cons:
seems to reduce sensitivity of touch screen
mine has a flaw that has created a bubble under it. It is on the lower edge, so it doesn't affect its operation, just an annoyance to look at.
Nillkin case
Pros:
good fit
edge extends above screen (and screen protector)
extends above buttons. This also helps prevent accidental button presses (am I the only person who thinks that power button is in exactly the wrong spot?)
Cons:
haven't noticed any
Currently using the iPaky case with the silver frame. I love it. The iPaky cases are one of the best out there. I have also a leather flip cover, it's nice but I don't use it much for whatever reason.
did anyone notice the screen protector sensor hole is on the wrong side?
left which has nothing on it, right is where the sensor is.
damn....
Hi,
My Lenovo glass had broken many times & now it gives problem of sensing. Where should I get to change the glass & how much it cost?
I use a tempered glass protector with a skin I ordered from skins4gadgets. The skin is good enough for my usage.

Screen protector just for the screen?

I am looking for one as I have a dbrand skin on my phone (they are great ), most screen protectors are mostly for the whole front part.
Buy a normal screen protector and cut it how you want
I've been looking for one as well, for the same reason. No luck so far. Slickwraps usually include such a screen protector with their orders, but I've no idea how it would perform on our "2.5D" screen. It's also probably not worth ordering a set of skins just for the very average PET film.

The edges won't stick, you'll get a "halo" effect, dust will get in, etc.
You *could* try something from Skinomi, though. I know their wet-apply protectors stick really well on curved glass (I swore by it back in my HTC One X days). You could either try to cut it down to size, if you have such precise tools, or even just stick the whole thing over your skin, it'll probably be fine. Plus you get protection for your nice skin.
I am in the same boat. I'm getting a skin for mine and want to still be able to protect my screen.
Yesterday I received i-croo full screen protector and I think it's the best protection available today. This type of PET must be combined with proper case like Ringke Slim to avoid peeling on edges.

We are looking to cover just the screen though. Not the entire front. We have skins that cover everything on the front but the screen.
Put on a full coverage screen protector.
A wet install one would work the best.
If not a wet install, one like the Spigen Curved Crystal is excellent.
Then apply the front skin directly on top of the protector.
I did this for a while and it worked perfectly with the Spigen Curved Crystal.
The skin actually stuck well to the protector, and the corner cutouts of the protector allow the skin to stick to the screen directly and hold the protector down better.
Here is the amazon link for the Spigen protector, only $8.99 for a 2 pack right now.

The glass protectors for the S7 Edge are ALL horrible, do not use them.
The Spigen Curved Crystal is a curved PET protector, it actually fits the phones really well.
There was some problems with the initial batch of protectors but that has been fixed and now they are perfect.
