[Q] otg support? - LG G2 Mini

Does it support off? Seen a cable on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-Data-Transfer-connecting-compatible-Accessory/dp/105998055X
But some users say otg not supported?

G2 Mini doesn't support OTG
Sent from my D620R [Stock 4.4.2]

but why is there an otg cable being sold on amazon? Maybe it has otg but requires an external power source?

Either the seller is selling lies or it's the only OTG that works for the LG G2 Mini
I haven't seen anyone trying it so I can't tell.

It is a MHL cable and AFAIK, no one sells them yet..expect them to be out soon..other option is if you have a dlna compatible tv or box, u can use that wirelessly to stream videos/pictures but dlna AFAIK doesnt mirror the screen like mhl would.

No, its the MHL cable/adapter the earlier poster mentioned.
Both MHL and Micro-USB-to-HDMI will work but the MHL cable has the added benefit of it being able to charge the phone at the same time.
How will mini USB work when the SGSII has a micro USB port, and no mini USB port? The only possible port to connect HDMI to is the micro USB port, and the only possible technology to output HDMI from that port is MHL.
when should we see these cables?
Clove are saying in June, Expansys are saying end of May (but Expansys and release date reliability hardly go hand in hand). I'd go with the Clove date for now.
There is a chance they'll be available for purchase before then from the US, since the Infuse 4G comes with adapter in its retail box (Phonedog have an unboxing up one youTube).
Does this phone do HDMI mirroring like the Optimus G2X?
Nobody knows, since there are no MHL accessories available.

From the context of the earlier posts it seems like he really does mean mini USB. Uninformed people really shouldn't be answering questions in here.

USB OTG Cable

Hi, I am looking to buy an otg usb cable to use with my at&t optimus g. I already had a cable from my s3 but that doesn't work on my OG. Any recommendations on which one to buy? Thanks
Wow, so is OTG working on our phones already? Bought mine from Amazon last year and have never used it yet, as my old phone and hp touchpad were never compatible.
I'd try amazon, then look for different reviews online to see who makes a quality one

I will try later. I have a generic OTG cable and it works with my One X but I tried briefly last night and it didn't notice the thumb drive plugged in...maybe just needs to be mounted?
I am assuming that LOG will not have OTG support as it seems that the nexus 4 doesn't have that support either and both of these phones are the same hardware..

I think it has more to do with the kernel supporting otg, rather than hardware.
contacted lg
"the hardware on the optimus g does support USB OTG as the specs say, however your carrier (At&t) decides what features the software supports."this is what an lg rep told Me. So yes, it's a kernel/software issue.

This makes sense as to why my HOX did not support it unless using an alternative kernel (CM's, rohans, etc). AT&T must have disabled it.
I have two .99¢ OTG adapters I use with my tablet and have NEVER had an issue with either one.
Once supported, I plan to use them on my phone as well.

The N4 doesn't finally support OTG because of the hardware. But the N4 has inductive charging, too.

Help connecting portable external hard drive to my Tablet Z

Hi all, I have purchased a 1TB harddrive and an otg cable. I can connect the harddrive with the otg cable into my Galaxy S4 phone and it can read the harddrive flawlessly.
However, when I attempt to connect it to my tablet Z, the hard drive makes clicking sound, sounding like a motor failing to run. And as expected, the tablet z cant detect it.
So I would like to know if the tablet z is not strong enough to power the harddrive and any solutions to work around this problem. Thanks!
My galaxy S4 is rooted, my tablet z is not, if that has to do with helps.
The harddrive is also portable.

If it's a power issue you could put a powered usb hub between the otg cable and the disk.
Or you could buy a usb powerpack and plug the usb power cable into that, assumming the drive has a cable with 2 usb connectors.

I don't know about stock ntfs support but I do know there are apps that enable ntfs support.
The downside is they require root.

I was replying from my tablet and I don't like to type on the thing.
I'm on my laptop now...
Any way, here you go:
Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+
[root] Ntfs Mounter
Both available in the play store.
I've never used them, you have to try it yourself.
Hope this helps.
Paragon works flawlessly on the Tablet Z.

[Q] TV

anyone already try slimport or MHL? it works? (i guess slimport can work because g2 work with slimport)
Maybe a little late, but better late then never.
The phone is/has been advertized as having a slimport, this is false information. It has NO slimport.
I bought the phone, wanting to connect it to the TV. Having bought a slimport adapter, it did not work and I emailed LG customer support (in the Netherlands).
They rectified the info on the dutch website. So that was a big letdown.
D: that bastards, ty very much for the information, i was going to buy it haha but maybe ill wait for the microsoft wireless... that thing they made to conect the phone by miracast or something, is like an hdmi but by wireless, idk how it will work

MHL cable is from mini USB to HDMI, so you can connect it to TV directly + it will charge your phone.
MHL adapter is from mini USB to HDMI port, so you have to connect an HDMI cable to the port and then to TV + it will charge your phone.

I mean, I want to connect D618 mini USB port with a USB 2.0 port of my TV.
Meanwhile D618 only acts as a USB, and can only view videos or photos in the phone, the TV does not display other content.
I am the attempt to enables modes "USB debugging" of D618 but not have effect.
As far as I know, D618 dual sim (Vietnam) does not support MHL.

Your TV probably only supports UMS (like most with USB port) but the phone doesn't.
You can put your video files on an USB flash drive and plug that to your TV.

Most cheap phone in China are connected such that.
I know how to copy the video files on the USB flash drive, but it's not convenient. I do not want to use anything other than phone, phone cable, and TV.

Yes it is. In fact, the OTG cable I ordered from Amazon arrived today. I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you search Amazon for "Cable Matters (2-Pack) Micro-USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) Adapter" it's $6.99 right now.
I plugged it into my Note and it read my 8GB USB stick perfectly. I was even able to plug my mouse and keyboard into it!
Totally worth the price. Let me know if you have questions.

I'm using CM 10.2 by Frankenbiker and works perfectly. I can use my USB Stick and my optical USB mouse.
The only problem is the battery is draining fast when it's connected the usb stick and more with the mouse.
