I rooted before the update rolled out for 4.1.2 to 4.3 which doesn't let me update now.

Maybe it is not released yet in your region. You can flash generic firmware from here.

Thanks but the thread you send me to is saying that old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment

Cannot go to 1.6, can come from 1.6.

You can flash from 1.6 --> 2.1 but NOT the other way around.
im at work rigght now, and just had a prompt to update firmware via OTA.... im running KI4 XEU.... anyone else had it?

How do I update my phone to ICS before it's released from Vodafone?
Do I need to find a certain BUKJ3 version of ICS before I update?
Does updating take away root?
Does updating take away my apps and stuff?
Will I not be able to view flash videos and stuff on ICS?

well i have the at&t version and i am running elegancia 6.3 , with android 4.2.2.

Well as I have stated before that I flashed Dubai version and it was not stable so that's y I was asking!!

Ok, try the German version or the Nordic version.
The German version comes with some own applications but they can easily be uninstalled.

Umm while flashing Nordic rom an error is occurring!! It shows fail instead of pass!! Any clue why that is happening!!
