It's made to offer ways of testing security systems. Not your "daily driver" type of ROM.

Sorry, but DropBox suspend my link.
I'm uploading the newer version in mega.co.nz.

Seems interesting to play with! Much appreciated OP!

I read some stuff this morning about OmniROM.
Nice to see this philosophy in Note II section! Thanks.
Awesome, can't wait to flash.
Is this based on CM or completely independent fork built from AOSP? If second, not many features are probably done yet right?

They are actually (ex) CM developers. With the recent changes in the CyanogenMod team, some devleopers decided to follow a different path and started OmniRom project.
Of course the project is based on Cyanogenmod which they contributed to for years, but in time, differences will be more obvious.
The good thing is, @pulser_g2 is with them, a guy is dedicated to Note 2

This is a beta so...for now its very good. Waiting for new settings.....this team is awesome....
Thanks!
Right no root access... How can i root this rom?
No root? That is dealbreaker for me actually

***BeanStalk 5.001*** 14/12

I am proud to present to you @scott.hart.bti's BeanStalk. This is a build composed off of the CM-12.0 builds with allot of added features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also DerTeufel1980's Hellybean and have been modified to work with current setup. A huge thanks to @DerTeufel1980 and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to @skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!

OnePlus X Cyanogen

Hi Guys,
do you know of any updates on a CM12 port to OPX?
I am very unsatisfied with the Oxygen OS and very used (and satisfied) to CM. I cannot find any information about this...
Thanks!
I doubt anyone would put the effort into porting CM12 for the X or building 12.1 nightlies for it with CM13 on the horizon. But I'm not a dev, so I could be wrong.
I'm waiting for this too, but these are the disadvantages of getting such a young phone...
But arent the Specs very similar to other phones (minimizing the effort of porting)?
But I am no Dev as well, so I have no idea. Just thoughts
Happily, I am wrong:

After CM12, 13 should be relatively easy, but that would require the kernel sources to be out soon. CM12 is with a prebuilt kernel as of now.

Best news today. Thanks a lot!
I didn't notice that posts...I was looking for a dedicated CM for OPX thread
I think OPX development will pick up more pace once it hits the US stores on 19th November. The phones only a week old after all

But a lot of capable CM devs are from India apparently. And India sales already started

hard to port cm13 without kernel sources
its easier to go for cm12.1 first and then focus on cm13

Quiet a surprising device actually ... They backported MSM8994 stuff on MSM8974. Don't know how that will end up.
Here's my TO-DO list if you are curious
Code:
TO DO :
- adjust firmware symlinks
- update init
- cleanup ramdisk
- custom liblight
- finish overlay
Would be nice if a lot of people could get me
Code:
getprop > getprop.txt
it will help for multinational radio

[DISCUSSION][AOSP] Let's build!

Ok, first i had done this for cm13, let's see what I can do for AOSP! Lulz. Think my earlier thread for cm13 created too much of hype and development restarted (joy++)
So, First of all, i haven't built AOSP as of yet for op2, will do it. If anyone can get the recovery working, or any progress, report here.
If we have AOSP caf tree, we will be able to port UBUNTU TOUCH, and many other ROMs based of aosp directly.
So here we go!

sure of course you can i already did it while cyanogenmod 13 was not yet booting.. the only thing is that you will have to modify tons of things into the device tree and tons of things into the aosp code to make hardware to work.. the only things that will work without modifications will be wifi and bluetooth.. maybe audio too but i'm not sure about that

AFAIK First of all you need to install JDK, a toolchain, git etc. and then you can clone the repos and start modifying them and compile them using breakfast and lunch or similar.

Finally, i was trying to compile omni rom but kept getting errors. It was too much work. Way beyond my capabilities and even if i tried it would have taken me months to even make any sort of build. Bootable was not even in the equation. So i dropped it.
Will definitely try to compile omni again once we have AOSP build.

Hello!
After I finish with RR 5.1.1 (next update), I wanna build other ROMs, 5.1.1 or 6.0.1. Lollipop is still great and rocks though.
I want to hear from you what ROM built from source you would like to see/use. I would also like to build my own ROM with the features I want, features which I use.
If there is a ROM which is not listed in the poll, let me know by a comment.
Please choose in the poll according to your choice.

I said that I'll build 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to develop the sources. There is already cm14 source available on Galaxy-J5 github, but it's not finished.
Carbon ROM. Carbon Fibers are pretty cool.
I had this idea before i've seen that you said "only built from source"...
Nextbit Robin replica, based on AOSP/CM13, using the ported apps and theming the rest. (Like the transparent SystemUI, or that square around the clock on the lockscreen)
MIUI patchrom for 5.1.1 and 6.0.1 would be great
Can you build cm13 for J5 2016 please?

I'm sorry, but I don't.
By the way, it seems that I've forgot to add Paranoid Android to poll.

The Grand Prime have the save SoC and He has already CyanogenMod 14 but you can build only the kernel for port this
AOSP 6.0.1

I have tried to build AOSP 5.1.1 and OmniROM 5.1.1, but i keep getting errors about intermediates (in the out folder). After using a small trick (dirty way) found on a blog, the error was gone, but then i was getting another similar error.
I was getting this kind of error: https://thealaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2016/06/10/error-no-rule-to-make-target-export_includes/ .
There is other way to fix this error (as mentioned on that blog), by including the prebuilt libs from cm/rr which are giving me error instead building the libs.
I may try the second way (with prebuilt libs) after i finish with RR.
@#Henkate kali nethunter would be great buddy

I think you are third or fourth guy who wants kali nethunter.
I dont know much about it, but ill consider it. But dunno how soon it will happen. I wanna finish with RR and im also working on a custom kernel (Lollipop) for CrapWiz
Perhaps you can tell me some things about Kali Nethunter? Is it some kind of hacking? lol.
There are too many roms to build and it take ~4h for me to build for one model and there are 8 models lol. Nick had to wait ~8h for one model in past, with his previous PC. Thats crazy!

What I know is that you just have to port the kernel from nethunter source which allow you to run all the hacking tools that come with the nethunter rolling https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki here you find the documentation... And here https://build.nethunter.com/nightly/ you can see the kernel builds for other devices and the nethunter rolling that has to be flashed after the kernel...
Touchwiz Nougat.
I saw some videos about kali nethunter built with AOSP and cm. I hope we can also get kali nethunter with the help of other ROMs that are already available.
Personally I suggest Kali Nethunter, AOSP, and Paranoid Android For our J5 devices. Thanks a lot for ur RR ROM buddy.

We need adoptable storage with nethunter because the kali chroot takes some space, so the best will be cm13 or something like that based on marshmallow
