[MOD] NH5 framework with full rotation and no tethering checks - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hello,
I figured I would post this for anyone else might want to use this or not.
This is a modified framework that has removed the tethering checks in the framework and also has full 360 rotation enabled.
Feel free to use it.
All I ask is that if you put it in your rom and post it to give me credit.
Thank you and let me know if this helps you if I should continue posting newer versions if desired.
See attachment for download.

I just tried to copy and overwrite the original file. It wouldnt let me so I renamed the original. Then I just kept getting a bunch of errors and cannot get the phone to boot....

This sounds great and i'd love to give it a shot. But im a little sceptical on flashing brand new frameworks and such. There's a lot of tethering check disablers for the stock S5 roms but I haven't found one that really gets around t-mobiles provisions. Can you explain what this does exactly? Or what makes it different?

If this was a zip. That would be awsome. Actually already have a rom that disables tether check. Would love this to be in 2 parts. But im not sure how that works seeing as its 1 file.

Has Anyone got this to work yet on their t-mobile TW rom?

Do you have a custom recovery or not?

I can make it a flashable zip for those who have it.
If you are towel rooted, you need to stop the shell running and copy and replace the stock file with this one using adb on the computer.

Thank you. That would be awesome. I have TWRP 2.7.1.0 to answer that previous question

Cool.
Then later tonight when I get a chance I will make a flashable zip that will back up the current one you have then flash mine.

Accidentally broke something in my Linux install. Might be till tomorrow till I get that up for you. Sorry

Its ok. I lived this long without a rotating TW I can live a little longer

Will there be services held for dead linux machine?

Can someone explain how to use this in complete steps?

[MOD] DL09 AOSP/Puzzle Lock with Reboot Options (added accurate batt)

This mod is specifically for DL09. If you are on DJ05, you can find a similar mod here.
Most themes already have reboot options added, but if you're like me you prefer the stock theme. Because there have been no releases of the reboot options mod since DL09, I took the time today and added it to the DL09 framework (specifically the android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk). Once it was added, I realized very quickly that there was a problem--it only worked with the stock glass/puzzle lock. This is because stupid me used a stock deodoxed android.policy.jar and not Adrynalyne's modified one from Supah Clean. So, I pulled the policy from Adrynalyne's ROM, edited it to work with the reboot options, and repackaged it with my prior edits to the framework.jar and framework-res.apk. End result: it worked!
Precaution
You must be deodexed for this mod to work! Don't even try to flash this on stock. If you don't know if you are deodexed, use a file manager and go to system>app and see if you see any .odex files. If you do, you're not deodexed. If you don't, you're deodexed.
Credits
(1) Untermensch - the original creator of the mod for the Vibrant. It was his guide I used to do this.
(2) Adrynalyne - as mentioned above, I used his android.policy.jar from Superclean as a base.
For those who are not familiar, I have attached a picture below to show you what the reboot options look like. Basically, they give you the ability to reboot, reboot recovery, and reboot download mode. Again, these can be found in just about every theme. Their purpose here is to give you the option to apply them to a stock theme.
Below are the zips to apply the mod. Simply flash via CWM and enjoy!
EDIT 1: I pulled the original zips because weird **** was happening when flashed over a theme. I realized later that all I needed to do was add the stock twframework-res.apk to update script to fix the problem. You now should be able to flash this over any theme you have already applied.
EDIT 2: Added accurate (circle) battery. I pulled images from one of the themes .... can't remember which.
Can somebody mirror this or, Ben, can you place a dif link? Totally would love the aosp with reboot options but I.get a dropbox error....something about files are safe but...( i.can't remember the rest). Thanx in advance

Use Root Explorer and go to Data>Local. Create a file (not folder) named enable_glass_lock. You can also simply flash the zip again (just don't wipe data after doing so). There is no need to wipe data before or after applying this mod.
So I can just flash this over my stock dl09 with otb voodoo 1.3ghz kernel and I get that sicc battery and reboot options and nothing else changes?

Well I ddnt wait long enough for you to reply haha I gave it a go not because of the reboot options but more for the battery circle. So I installed the puzzle lock option on my stock dl09 non deodexed stock rom runing otb voodoo oc 1.3ghs stock voltage and I selected to backup to be on the safe side. It backed up everthing then abortd installation so it said!!! After installation said aborted it sat at the backup screen so I held down all three buttons cause I hate raking my battery covr off. Ebooted phone. Flawless everything works perfect with that cool battery circle but I do not have the reboot options. Don't mind though just wanted my battery percentage in the status bar. So just to let everyone know at least you get half the mod haha. I'm happy. I am not deodexed cause I've done so much to this phone and just don't wanna start over. If someone know how to get me deodexed without starting over id appreciate it. If I'm saying something wrong forgive me as I'm not an expert in this. I mainly mess with my viewsonic g tab. I would alo like to just get my status bar black in color. But don't care to change anything else. But would deal with minor changes just don't wanna lose stuff and have to start over.
Thanks a lot

You could try xeudoxus on droid forums xUltimate, it's really easy to use and it just adb pulls files from your phone, deodexes them then you adb push them back. dont worry there are instructions on how to if you need the help, he also has an xUltimate that helps you edit hex codes for color changes on your apk and jar files, again instructions are available. here is the link with the info, and if you get stuck during the process there are read me files and a link supplied in the files to his site. Happy Modding

@DaleV I bet he may have figured it out since january.

good day.
Im looking for this exactly but for the EB05 build. Does it exist somewhere else? I'd even settle for just the AOSP lock screen.....

[Q] Installing Web2Go and Wifi-Calling on P509 with custom ROM?

I have a P509 with no data-plan (pay as you go). I often use wifi-calling though (when signal is weak/non-existant) as well as web2go when I don't have wifi access and need to get on the net.
I tried a couple of the custom ROMs, and I really like devoid, but I was unable to get these apps reinstalled. I tried using Titanium Backup to restore the apps, but restoring web2go hangs titanium backup, and restoring wifi-calling works, but wifi-calling generates an error when it tries to start. For now I'm back on the stock rom with a franco kernel, which seems to be working fine, but I'd love to go to a custom kernel.
For anyone interested, the WebToGo app seems to be just a wrapper to bring you to http://home.web2go.com, so it is useless. It isn't included as an apk, so if you want to use it on a custom ROM, you need to deodex WebtogoHome.odex then recompile to apk
Wifi Calling is actually system/Kineto.apk
It also requires:
lib/libganril.so
lib/libkineto.so
lib/librilswitch.so
I'm not aware of a way to build an apk that installs extra files in .lib (there may be a way, I'm new here), so the only way I know to install is either using a custom zip, or to build a custom ROM with these. I did the latter.
I forgot this part:
in build.prop (I put it near the end)
Code:
rild.libpath=/system/lib/librilswitch.so
rilswitch.vendorlibpath=/system/lib/libril-qc-1.so
rilswitch.ganlibpath=/system/lib/libganril.so
I'm able to run devoid.franco with Wifi Calling using these settings and the above listed files on my P509
If you have T-Mobile as a provider, you can use wifi to send/receive calls with your normal phone-number.
The software is called 'Wifi Calling' and only works with T-Mobile. It comes stock on the Optimus-T/P509, but takes several tweaks to get it working properly on a P500 based ROM as I learned.
That is great news!
Are you able to go to http://home.web2go.com in your browser and add a day data pass? I disconected from wifi and allowed data but could not get to the website.
yep it seems to work for me.
I was much more interested in the Wifi-Calling though, as my cell reception is terrible at home.
I'm going to try to make a zip that will update the rom properly. I don't yet know how to alter the build.prop file from a zip, but assuming I can figure that out, I'll post it.
Here is a zip that should apply to any p500 2.2 based rom to get Wifi Calling (with T-Mobile) working. I've only tested it via clockwork mod. And I've only verified it using T-Moble in the US.
One note. I used a pretty dirty method to update the build.prop file, so don't install the zip more than once on any given rom. Doing so would probably work fine, but will leave extra junk in your build.prop file
Edit: I don't want to maintain multiple copies, should I need to update the code in the future. Get it from here:

That would be a great application. I know many T-mobile customers decide to just use the stock ROM so they can have wifi calling.
Figured out my problem accessing web2go. I thought it was a general problem because I had the same symptom in both phones. One phone had a sim that had never been used. The other phone somehow lost its APN settings. Of course, the bad sim card was in the phone with the correct APN and the good sim was in a phone with no APN entries. Stupid!
well done on the wifi calling zip!
i'm going to give it a shot tonight and post the results.
btw do you have any trouble with incoming MMS using custom ROMS? Mine shrink unless i'm using CM7.
You started off asking a question about wifi calling. You now have a app that solves the problem.
I think this section is no longer appropriate. This thread should be in the "Optimus One, P500 Android Development" section. When you post there your solution will get the attention it deserves!!
PS Don't forget to modify the thread title.
PPS Works Great!!!
I don't have enough posts to reply to your thread in the Development section, but just wanted to say thanks!
In the UK, this Wi-fi calling service is offered by the Orange network but I was unable to use it as my phone was not running the Orange ROM. I was able to adapt your zip, replacing the app and lib files with ones extracted from an Orange ROM - and it works perfectly.

It uses your own phone-number, and you can call to other real phones with no additional charge. Other than that there isn't much difference.

Humpf... would not the protocol be the huge difference here? The proprietary Skype blackbox pretty much sucks.

RE: ?
509: Running with the new baseband, and OXYGEN.
Any progress on this? Since reading this, I'm trying to figure out a way to dissect an apk and allow for device specific compliance.
I have a few stock and aftermarket 'KINETO apks... What type of code would I need to learn for making this happen?
Also, when opening some of the files, they turn out to be characters spaced out several inches apart. I'm interested in learning about this.
I've been getting to know Eclipse and SDK on Ubuntu; however, some of these files cannot be edited with standard 'gedit' or notepad..
ALSO - When preparing to edit build.prop.kineto, the file opens with the code mentioned here. But that's all; nothing else.
Just these 3 lines of code:
rild.libpath=/system/lib/librilswitch.so
rilswitch.vendorlibpath=/system/lib/libril-qc-1.so
rilswitch.ganlibpath=/system/lib/libganril.so
Please Advise.

[Solved] Have any of you guys have Isis working? (Isis fix included)

I've been trying to figure this out for a while I've got it to go past the root check via xPrivacy, but when it's looking for the secure element on my sim card it fails
Has anyone else tried it?
I'm running on ViperOne 3.1 RC2
EDIT:
I've got everything working (I just haven't tried paying yet) and I'm currently running Viper 3.1 RC2. So I'm not sure if it'll work on other roms, and if you update you'll have to flash this zip again of course.
The Zip doesn't seem to work, just unpack it and push the files manually.
Prerequisites:
- Root
- Custom recovery
- Xposed Framework
- Either xPrivacy or Isis root bypass
What's included:
- libnfc.so
- libnfc_jni.so
- libnfc_ndef.so
- org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
- SmartCardServiceGP.apk
- Nfc.apk
- nfcee_access.xml
the nfcee xml has the isis, t-mobile, and google keys included if we ever need that.
The files were pulled from Nocturnal's 3.24.531.3 deodexed stock rom
I haven't tested this zip but I used Rishik999 Guide on how to make a flashable zip, either way make sure to BACKUP!
Not sure if you'll have to fix permissions also, as I did this manually through ADB and thought I'd make a zip to make things easier for everyone
Before running Isis make sure you have root bypassed via the Xposed module Isis Root bypass or xPrivacy
Reboot, and enjoy Isis!

Hmmm I see, I tried one of the leaked official 4.3 roms on here, but it still didn't work, but then again I did a dirty flash I might try wiping, or doing what it actually says and calling them
i used an oficial one 4.3 what error are you getting? i tried calling them they are having an issue with the new update. I just cant wait till we get 4.4 kit kat so we can finally and hopefully use google wallet because isis sucks. i get error 7006 after trying to register.
I was able to get it to work on the tmobile stock Rom. I had to install the Isis root bypass module in the expose installer so it wouldnt detect my root.
were you ever able to get it working on Viper? been trying but can't get past the sim card pop up even tho i have the new isis sim from t-mobile...

Alright guys I've got it working, I downloaded a stock 3.24.531.3 rom from Nocturnal's website and copied some things over
Not sure what exactly was what made it work.
I copied over:
libncf.so
libnfc_jni.so
libnfc_ndef.so
org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
SmartCardServiceGP.apk
But it didn't work until pushed nfc.apk
I've just not created an account, I'll test it out later.
I pushed these files using adb, but I don't see why Root Explorer wouldn't work or something similar.

Great to hear... I was up late at night trying to figure someway to get it to work. Where exactly are those files located if you don't mind.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The libs are in system/lib
The jar is in /system/framework
The apks in system/app
There's also the nfcee xml I modified, that's under system/etc I'll do a full writeup and edit my first post once I get home
But the nfcee xml has the keys for isis and t-mobile so you should need that. And yeah I'm running viper still

Do you have the zip file of the ROM that you put on your phone? If so, you can edit the zip file using 7zip (find the apps folder) and flash that, making sure that the signature verify is turned off. This is how I used to do it on my phone, but have recently updated to using 4Ext and still finding my way around this app, but it's got app removal built in (I think).
Hope this helps :good:

Not at all, we all have to start somewhere. I'm not particularly technical myself so I will try and help as much as I can.
When you say you have rooted your phone, have you also install a custom ROM on your phone as well? To do this, you should have had a zip file that you used to flash the ROM to the phone.
I would create a copy of the ZIP file, in case you go wrong. Open up the ZIP file using 7zip (or something similar, I suggested this one as I know you can delete files from the zip file, but some other programs won't do this).
You show see two folders, click on system and then click on the app folder. You need to be careful in what you delete as it might force the phone to crash out (hence make a copy of the ZIP file, and have both of them on your phone). Simply delete the apps you don't want and then save and flash the ROM on your phone (you will need to turn off signature verify for it to work, but I'm not sure where there will be in your menu's as I don't know what recovery you are using, it's normally under "other").
Does this make anything more clearer?

If not, please explain exactly what you have done in terms of rooting and flashing a ROM.

In order to understand what it is that you want to archive, could you please tell me why you rooted your phone?
I ask as, unless you have a copy of the stock ROM, once you have flashed a ROM, you won't be able to go back to the original ROM. If you are happy to go ahead, I suggest you look around for ROM's that will work on your phone. Depending on what you want from a ROM (small size, quick loading or lots of gadgets and tweaks), you should be able to find one already working to how you would like. Some ROM's do not have any Google apps or YouTube and only have basic apps to run the phone (I had a ROM call Redux that was like this), other ROM's have many features (I've had a ROM called MIUI that was like this). If you find a ROM you like, it is better to leave the apps as they are.
I can try and help you with how to flash the ROM if you get stuck, but I did not use the superoneclick way.
As I said first, why do you want to remove apps?

If you find a custom ROM you like (I would try it first before deleting apps), then I would hold off downloading 7zip as you may not need it if you like the ROM as it is :good:

Hmmmmmm, there are other things you could try if you are having issues with your phone.
I have an app called Autostarts and you can stop apps from booting when the phone is restarted or when other things happen (like a change in signal).
I also have another app called Battery Mix which is very good at finding out what apps are running and draining the battery or taking up CPU usage.
I also have another app called Quick System Info which you can set up so that when you click end tasks, it only ends tasks that you've selected (you put them on a supervise list), which is very handy if you have things like 3G monitoring or clocks that might crash if you kill them.
Maybe you need to root the phone in a different way. Try reading this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861790
I know someone who has tried a method similar to yours and had issues, whereas I've rooted and even s-off (I have a HTC desire and s-off (sense off) is a security feature on that.
You could try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1541666
Or this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767975 (this might not be Gingerbread but the features between each one aren't that noticable, but this ROM might make your phone run faster, as I said before, you need to think about what you want from the phone, speed or gadgets)

[17-Feb-2017] Viper4Android 2.5.0.5 Nougat Build - Flashable w/ Preinstalled Driver

A few days ago, there was an update from zhuhang for the already released Viper4Android 2.5.0.5. It addresses the issues that a lot of people are having with getting V4A working under Nougat. I tested it with my ROM, and the driver installed without error. So then I decided to make a flashable zip that would preinstall the driver and save you a few minutes plus a reboot. Other than possibly needing to grant Storage permissions in Settings, this is a quick flash and go.
The zip that should work on any LG-based ROM, and possibly on AOSP-based as well. Just download, flash in TWRP, and reboot. You may need to grant Storage permissions in Settings.

I [obviously] didn't create V4A, but if you include my zip in your ROM, please give a mention and link back to this thread.
First
Thanks for this.. I'm sure many will get use out of it..!
Not sure if I did something wrong or not - but I can't get it to work.
I'm on DevDigital's ls997 ver 6.5 magisk phh.
Flashed in twrp. Granted root permision.
go to SuperSU / un-check Mount_name spaces separately / under the settings. turn on adb debugging.
Inscribed via LG v20 (iOS 11.1.0 Aplha)

You shouldn't have been promoted to grant root access. V4A only needs root to install the driver, which is preinstalled.
If you're being prompted to install a driver, the ROM likely uses a different conf file to control audio.

He built and ported to magisk recently. Has a module you need to install then install Swansong
I haven't played with it yet. I like the new app but dont see a diffence in drivers from 2.5.0.4 to 2.5.0.5
Magisk has a compatible module in his downloads via the app that works with my rom (2.5.0.4)
I install that via magisk manager then i pulled the latest viper4arise.apk and installed instead of the older ui viperfx apk that is linked on the downloads page inside magisk manager.
Driver installs correctly for many others as well. You may need to dirtyflash my rom and start over. Magisk manager also received a update yesterday via playstore. The process on phh or magisksu as its now called is different now as its "systemless" vs modifying the actual system files.
If you dont want to go 5through the hassel of above. Just go to developer settings inside of the viper apps settings and turn off selinux and recheck driver status. Im 99% sure it works this way but ive said it before, i wont push the rom this route as i dont perfer it to be off by defualt.
Hope this helps
Got it all worked out thanks to the rom creator above. Team DevDigitel.
Thank You
Thank you for your work on this flashable zip it's much appreciated, I just have a couple of questions though for anyone who might know..
I'm still running the original stock rom (rooted with TWRP) on my LG V20 and a while back I followed the directions from another thread to install V4A, and I was able to get it to work (even through bluetooth) but it's kind of wonky and just hit or miss so I'd really like to try this one out instead.
I'm assuming I should uninstall the version of V4A I have right now but is there anything else that I need to do (besides a nand backup) before flashing this one? Also one of the steps to install the V4A I have right now was deleting a system file (I'll have to go look to be sure but I believe it was something like mixer_paths.xml), so I just thought I'd check to see if that will somehow effect this version or if I possibly need to put the original file back where it was before flashing this one?
I apologize if these are stupid questions but I just thought play it safe and check first before giving this a shot, because even though the version I have is kind of wonky it still works through bluetooth which from what I've read is something that a lot of people haven't been able to get working, and since I use it so much I'm just afraid to even risk losing it. Anyway I'll definitely create a backup before doing anything but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to delete any files for this zip. You're supposed to delete /system/etc/audioeffects.conf, but I've done that with the script.
As I use this more, Bluetooth still occasionally doesn't process after pausing for an extended period, like getting out of the car for more than 5 minutes, but all you need to do for it to kick back on is exit V4A from the menu, then open it up again. It'll immediately start processing again.
If you have an unmodified system backup to restore, that will help ensure it works OK, but it may not be needed.

Thank you for the quick response and for the info and I have no clue why I had mixer_paths on the brain but yeah audioeffects.conf is the file I had to delete while installing the version I have, and as far as what you said about the bluetooth acting up it sounds pretty similar to the wonkyness that I was describing with the version I currently have.
One weird thing that I've noticed with mine (and I don't have the slightest idea how or why it's doing it) is when I'm listening to music through my bluetooth headset, none of the settings under the "Bluetooth" section in V4A have any effect on the sound whatsoever.. but what's weird is that all of the settings under the "Headphones" section do (so it's basically like the section names were swapped somehow)?!
I know for sure that I don't have anything plugged into the jack and the headset I'm using is definitely bluetooth (because it's pretty easy to tell lol), so I have no clue why the settings under headphones would work just fine while the ones under bluetooth don't do it anything at all?
Anyway thank you again for the info I'll give it a shot as soon as I have time and let ya know how it went, and unfortunately the only thing I didn't backup was my unmodified system (it didn't even cross my mind until after I was done rooting) but hopefully it'll still be ok. Thanks again!

You can definitely control BT devices from the BT tab on this one. And I've found with more testing that before I get in my car, switch to V4A and exit it, then open it again as soon as Play Music connects. Works every time.
I would just like to say thank you!!
I installed this .zip on my T-mo variant over the previous V4A install via dirty flash. It resolved my Bluetooth processing issues on the stock V20 ROM. I've been working on this the past few days. VERY happy it now works in my car like my last phone did!
Now, once I get the nerve to flash over the new modem and bootloader via TWRP to get up to 20j, I'm highly inclined to check out the new ROM by NATF.
Cheers!

Thank you.
The new modem and other firmware is not a strict requirement for ROMs built on 10j. You just need to make sure TWRP is on the latest release.

Excellent! I'm glad it works for you. The changes made should work on multiple devices, I just couldn't test it myself.
Can we flash this if we have dolby? Or should I uninstall dolby 1st?

Just wanted to say thanks for this. It worked great right from the get go. If anybody is wondering its running on JDCTeam AOSP 7.1.2 on a beat up old S4.
