This is my take on Mahdi's great ROM. I love his work so all credit goes to him. I just change a little code to build with SM and maybe add a feature here or there(most have been added into the official Mahdi source. So here you go.
FeaturesBuilt with SaberMod
Everything that is in Mahdi
Change the color of heads up
The OTA Center points to my builds
Smoothscroll
more to come
Download: My Server
Main Mirror: Basketbuild
GAPPS: My modified PA with ChromeBeta
Other Mirror: Dev-Host - Although original is faster and more up to date

Stock lockscreen works only on Cyanogenmod-based ROMs e.g. CM11S, nightlies, crDroid, etc.
Mahdi is not based on CM, so your request would be impossible to fulfill

Just flashed over my existing Mahdi 10/09 ROM.....so far so good!

Yup same here dirty flash & running great

Did a clean flash, because it looked interesting. I decided to make it my daily driver for a week and see if it can beat Robbie's custom builds.
Already two (very minor) bugs to report:
1. After every boot the double-tap-2-wake gets checked, although I had it unchecked before rebooting.
2. I use the HW buttons and have the backlight at 0% so they don't intrude. Now, also after every reboot, the backlight value gets reset to 100%. Very easy to fix of course, but hey are issues that (I hope) were not supposed to be there.
Hope this is helpful enough!
-Mats

Also dirty flashed, only wiped system.
So far runs great. It's so fast!!
Thanks!
@TiVON, I'm pretty sure the first bug was reported in the official thread.

Thanks for this ROM !

I confirme this issue and it comes from Madhi 'original'. The same bug
I have a question, why set DPI so low (280) ? It activates the 'tablet mode' ! 300 DPI is better, don't you think so ?

Yeah I fixed the dpi for the next build. Sorry about that. I'm not really sure why that happened.

Okay I think I fixed those two problems, we'll see in the next build. I'm trying to figure out why the ota center keeps defaulting to Mahdi's servers even though I have the local and server files I need. I'll build when I figure that out.

Great man!
With the same apps, same wakelocks blocked and same kernel, I am getting >20 minutes screen on time more than Robbie's CM11. My new daily driver, thanks!

BT Mac address
Anyone else having my issue with the BT mac address being changed to "00:00:00:00:5A:AD"? I had this on CM11 also but it was a different incorrect address and I was able to fix it. I've posted details in my thread for fixing the issue on CM11. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759056#post58131969
Awesome work. Running 1/15 build. Gps was only issue. Great u got it submitted. Thanks a million!
no cellular connection on 1/18 nightly?
I updated my E970 to 1/18 nightly from 1/15 in the usual way and cannot get any cellular connection. not even for phone/texting let alone data.
I'm downgrading to my 1/15 backup now.
I've noticed cm12 seems to take a long time to connect to cellular for me. You did wait long enough right?

I waited much longer than usual. My son just reported the same issue on MotoG. Sounds like a CM12 issue not E970 specific.

same problem for me
***1/18/15 nightly*** Cell/data signal failure, Bluetooth mac problem 00:00:00:00:5a:ad. Intermittent bluetooth a2dp media push. Submitted bug report. Reverted to 1/15/15 nightly backup.
Thanks for hard work guys and girls.
Im on the 1/15 build and Im getting huge battery drain from cell standby even though Im getting good coverage here. This has been the case for most cm12 roms. Tried flashing different kernels and modems but I still keep getting huge cell standby battery drain. Any ideas?
Another strange behavior to report, when using the flashlight option from the quick settings, auto focus seems to be enabled, so my phone is clicking while I'm trying to look at something close up.
I also upgraded from the 13/1 nightly to the 18/1 nightly and I didn't get any cell reception whatsoever. Had to downgrade back to the 13/1.
same problem
issue is with cm12 18th jan nightly as it appears. i was also concerned that something is gone wrong with my phone when i update to 18jan nightly from 14th jan. no cellular network at all!!
however, while searching over web; lots of other users have reported the same issue. hope they will fix it tonight!! cant live without a phone; cant roll back as dont have any backup

Great ROM, the brightness sliding on the status bar is a bit clunky, I would have preferred the original stock style but other then that, looks good so far.
EDIT: Brightness slider was enabled but wasn't showing, so I unchecked/checked and it works now.

You can modified cpu frequency with the included omni performance in settings. Otherwise you would have to flash a custom kernel

Finally had a chance to flash this last night. So far so good, no issues. Nicely done.
Stuck on validus screen
Installed this rom using twrp 2.8.3 from sd card.
After installation phone just doesnt boot it is stuck at the validus flashing.
Any solution or where is the problem? Is thr any kernal i have to flash?
i can't flash this rom. It stopped in logo. What should i do??? @oadam11
Check your downloads to make sure they are good, guys. Also, how long did you wait when trying to boot - haven't timed it but first boot seems to take a LONG time on this ROM.
Mine booted after at last 5 minutes. It couldn't install minecraft. It reported an error and said to try again later. I still got the same error after rebooting. Don't have the exact message since i don't have the phone with me now.

Is this the same as myfluxi's hammerheadcaf build? Any kernel changelogs? Or pulled on the same cm repo as myfluxi's? I want to give it a try, please provide some details.

You mean ambient display? If i turn it off, put display side on table, then take it - screen goes on.
For any function, check CM gerrit.

Very nice. I'm gonna try it in a while. Hope you could maintain updating this build, as myfluxi's return for 12.1-caf is indefinite 'cuz his device was broken. +1
Wow! Just wow! Just tried your rom. I was surprised it was smooth and very responsive! But same issues as myfluxi's CM12.1-caf build, the volume button to skip track ain't working when ambient display is on while screen is locked and some minimal FC's with settings app, but very tolerable. I'm just missing something, I'm using GoogleCamera as my default camera, and it's missing the HDR+ function. Maybe it's because of my Gapps (Original PA Gapps 5.1). I have hdr on my CM12-caf with PA Gapps 5.0. If you have HDR working, kindly share what Gapps package do u use. +1
The ROM is snappier and faster, not bad for 1st build. No FC or any errors while testing and making phone calls.
Few things that i found:
Stock Camera app has more options like panoramic, sphere. etc.
the camera app with this Rom has only: camera and video
I am not that crazy about CM bootanimation... just saying
The major problem is that i couldnt flash Gapps from CM12.1, i was getting error about updater-script in TWRP. i downloaded the latest gapps-L-4-15-15.zip
So now i had to go back to stock

I used BaNkS GAPPS from euroskank.
gapps-L-4-9-15.zip - this one worked for me without problems. Im uploading it, so check the download link on devhost.
EDIT: happiness4u, HDR+ works
Got it up and running, dirty flashed over cm 12 unofficial, no issues everything looks good thanks for your efforts.
Edit.. Two minor issues, had the "no service" graphic glitch a couple times, seemed like rebooting was a toggle for the graphic, had the empty triangle, rebooted, had the LTE graphic, rebooted again and had the empty triangle... and so on, never any signal problem though.
Second minor thing was supersu (2.4.6) said it needed a binary update but couldn't update, assuming because there is no update for 2.4.6 , solution was to reflash 2.4.6 zip.
Thank you , for sharing your work. Looking forward to more CAF goodness.

My concern was the baseband. I'm new to G3 and rooted/recovery with the latest. Didn't known if I'd have an issue flashing a kitkat ROM.
Many thanks for the quick reply.
Question. I'm on Android 5.1.1 and with a different baseband. Do I need to revert back to kitkat baseband in order for me to flash this?

I had no issue flashing on lollipop baseband.
Initial tests showed cellular, WiFi, and GPS all working. I don't have anything Bluetooth or NFC to pair with so I can't comment on those...however, auto brightness did not seem to work for me. YMMV..
Thank you Chevelle. Well done for an initial release.
Damn. Here come the big guns for our device
Installed as secondary rom. Seems to run good. I keep getting a message saying I have insufficient funds to message or something. Haven't looked far into it yet to see what it actually is. It's from me to me lol. Thanks for the rom

Excited to see where this one goes!! Thanks for yet another choice in roms!
This is awesome to have!!! Is the GSM on this working? Where I can add, edit apn to get it working on MetroPCS(T-Mobile) or is this strictly fixed for Verizon?
wish we could get more 4.4.4 ROMS
Running this amazing ROM. So far so good! Issue I've run into since install is that video record with stock camera lead to force close.
Was able to get Mobile connection/data off MetroPCS/T-Mobile. Haven't tried out themes. Will post updates later on today battery life. Again thanks for the ROM!

So far really liking this! It's a little different getting used to, but the only issues I've noticed so far are the following:
- As someone stated previously, video recording in the stock camera app FC's, and auto brightness appears to not work
- My "weather" and "calendar" apps have no icons....they're just completely clear lol
- In settings > additional settings > buttons > custom key position, you can only see 2 out of the 3 keys at any point....making it difficult to reorder if you aren't careful
- In the play store, pretty much every app I download warns me that "this app is very large" and offers to proceed on wifi only. Even though I'm already connected to wifi and already have said yes on 10 other apps lol. This may not be a bug I'm not sure, but just thought I'd throw it out there.
- Finally, I'm sure it might not even be possible, but I already miss dt2s and dt2w lol.... Switching launchers I can at least get dt2s working
Other than that I'm very impressed with this so far, definitely hoping that this continues to get updated on a regular basis!! Thank you so much for your great work on this so far @Chevelle1768!!
Thanks for this rom. Thanks for keeping this great phone alive. Can't wait to where this rom goes.
I keep getting a notification that my Sim card can't be authorized followed by about 20 texts saying I have insufficient funds to send a message. Which is weird cuz I'm texting my girlfriend at the same time. All my phone info is right. I'm logged into my mi account. So I don't know.

Dual-Sim functions
Hi,
is the dual-sim function working on cm 12.1 and which functions has it?
Greetings from Vienna
I don't have my second Sim yet, but it seems like it's recognized.
Can confirm, Dual Sim is working perfect. More Options than OxygenOS.
I'm waiting for my OPT. Hope that the fingerprint will be ok in a near future, I'm very exciting about this rom.
I'm just waiting for the fingerprint working and then I'm ready to flash The OxygenOS is so limited but used to fingerprint so I don't wanna give up on it.

The fingerprint feader, in its current state, works like a home button. So far i dont miss the unlocking by fingerprint feature. It was very unrelaiable on OxygenOS. I had to tap that fpreader almost 5 or 6 times to unlock the phone.
I unlock by double tap and get it to sleep by holding the home button.
dirty flashing
Hello
apologies in advance if this has been asked before. But can i dirty flash the latest build on top of the one i have installed, or should i wipe data first?
Thanks in advance.
You can dirty flash... Worked with every new build of Grarak until now.

The fingerprint works fine for me.
I am so got used to fingerprint I don't want to sacrifice it.
But i also miss viper4android, Oxygen doesn't support it but CM does...
Argh... I can't decide....
OTG support
I'm in the latest build (3/10)and finally have OTG working with non-OP adapter.
But i don't have the options to un-mount (or any other for that matter) USB-OTG in Settings/Storage even with and USB pen connected and recognized in ES Explorer.
Anyone with this?
I flashed the ROM with wipe in everything except Data and Internal Storage.

in the very same boat, i wanna jump to cm but every time i want to go to recovery mode, i unlock my phone with the scanner and i feel like its too much to lose. for some, the fingerprint scanner was the decider in their purchase
How does the missing laser autofocus affect overall picture taking behavior? Can someone maybe elaborate in this? I am really happy with the picture quality oft my opt and afraid to jeopardize it. If it only affects the autofocus time, I think I can live with it but I am unsure what effect flashing cm will really have on image quality. I heard something about Sony phones that drastically lost image quality due to custom ROMs...
