tutorial towelroot onlatest firmware knox 0x0 updated to G900T-UVU1CNK2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

as many of you know that all firmwares after ne6 cant be rooted with towelroot. here is a quick tutorial with links on how to downgrade to ne6 and then upgrade to the latest firmware and keep root. this is for those who also want to keep knox at 0x0.
1. DOWNLOAD G900TUVU1ANE6 FULL STOCK TAR FROM HERE https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358541270
2. uNZIP THE FILE AND FLASH IT USING PC ODIN. WHICH YOU CAN GET HERE https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291676783
3. ROOT WITH TOWELROOT . TOWELROOT IS HERE https://towelroot.com/
4.DOWNLOAD MOBILE ODIN PRO FROM THE PLAYSTORE IT WILL COST YOU AROUND $6
5.DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST STOCK TAR G900TUVU1CNK2 FROM SAMMOBILE OR FOR A MUCH FASTER LINK GET IT here https://mega.co.nz/#!lVEVUCZK!AZQLNxZ7-1VHtefWyHr1Rn_fnJo7xe_Hv9DMRXaYs0E
6. UNZIP THE FILE AND COPY IT TO YOUR SDCARD OR INTERNAL STORAGE ON YOUR PHONE.
7. USING MOBILE ODIN PRO CHOOSE THE OPEN FILE SELECTION AND THEN CHOOSE THE FILE THAT YOU COPIED TO THE PHONE
8. IGNORE THE WARNING FROM MOBILE ODIN REGARDING KNOX. IT WONT TRIP. TICK EVEROOT AND INJECT SUPERSU FLASH THE PHONE .
YOUR PHONE SHOULD BE ROOTED ONCE IT RESTARTS AND ON THE NEWEST FIRMWARE.
YOUR BOOTLOADER CAN NOT BE UPGRADED BY MOBILE ODIN. THAT CAN BE FLASHED SEPERATELY BY USING PC ODIN.LOOK FOR THE BOOTLOADER FILE IF YOU WISH TO UPGRADE IT BUT IN MY OPINION IT IS NOT CRITICAL TO INSTALL AT THIS POINT. MOST OF THESE FILES CAN BE FOUND HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715487 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761412 MODEM AND BOOTLOADER FILES HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52210611&postcount=4

Link on 5 is asking for a decryption key.
Links on 8 are not working.
Can SuperSU be upgraded to latest version on Play Store or is that not necessary?
Thanks for this!!!!!

So what are the implications of keeping the bootloader NE6? Everything else is NH5 in Samsung Phone Info.

I dont see any difference . both the ne6 and nh5 bootloaders boot the phone. however i do like to keep things uniform . the bootloader for nh5 is here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712469491 flash with pc odin

after flashing ane2 with pc odin. root the phone with towelroot.
then install mobile odin pro . use mobile odin to to flash ang8
mobile odin will retain root if you tick everoot and inject supersu.
the ang8 full tar can be downloaded from sammobile or samsung updates or the firmware thread
. it includes the bootloader and the modem as well as everything else you would need,
the thing is that the bootloader cant be flashed with mobile odin.
for that you would need to flash just the bootloader in pc odin .

I just used casual to root and unlock my note 2.i have root and it booted up on twrp but I want to check if I am unlocked bootloader. Is there a way I can check? In my about phone my status says normal
If the bootloader was not unlocked it would overwrite any changes you make to recovery and system files. So as long as you can reboot without losing TWRP or any custom ROM you've installed you're golden.
Unlocked Bootloader?

It's been a while for me since I rooted my phone, and I don't know if I unlocked my bootloader either... I have never installed a custom ROM, I only rooted so I could tether. But now that the new OTA update keeps trying to install itself, I need to fix this because it's extremely annoying. I read a thread that said I need to flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458, but it said that I need my bootloader to be unloacked, and therein lies my question...
Am I thinking this through the correct way?
If you just want to stop the update notification fteeze SDM 1.0

That is the correct thread. Easy way to check is to boot into recovery and see if there is a custom recovery installed. Power down your device, hold down the volume up + verizon button, then power up. Hold volume up + verizon button until you see the galaxy note 2 splash screen. If it boots into TWRP than you're still good. But you will probably want to update to the latest version of TWRP before you go installing any new roms.

Thanks Jiggabitties, I updated TWRP and downloaded official firmware.md5 file and the Mj9 DeOdex file to my pc. Should I transfer those files to the sd card in my phone and install from the TWRP menu? If so, I do the official firmware file first, right? Then the deodex...?

The firmware update is done in ODIN and the ROM is done in TWRP.

Yes start by transferring the files to your SD card.
The firmware package from that thread is meant to be flashed via ODIN. If you are not comfortable in flashing firmware via ODIN then use this in it's place... https://www.dropbox.com/s/lz29kvrvzfttfpu/MJ9ModemParams.zip This is a TWRP flashable version of the firmware.
Place the MJ9 Deodex and the modemparam.zip I linked to above on your SD card. Flash the ROM file first, then the modemparam.zip. Then clear cache/ dalvik and reboot. That should be all you need to do. If when you boot you don't get service, then you will need to go ahead and flash the firmware vid ODIN. Some users have no issues with the flashable version that I linked above, some users do.

N915F Kitkat(4.4.4)_Bootloader.tar(Unlocked "Phone bootloader update" check for Odin)

N915F Kitkat(4.4.4)_Bootloader.tar(Unlocked "Phone bootloader update" check for Odin)
N915F Kitkat(4.4.4)_Bootloader.tar
When we need kitkat bootloader tar file for downgrade from lollipop to kitkat, we can use this. I created it with tar_tool.
Unlocked "Phone bootloader update" check for Odin.
For Downgrade:
1. Download, Extract tar file from zip at attachment. Flash with Odin3 v3.10.6. (check "Phone bootloader update")
2. Flash stock kitkat rom and use it. If you want to use custom rom Flash CF_Auto_Root or other recovery img with odin.
3. Flash custom kitkat rom with cwm.
Attention: If you give md5 error. Delete ".md5" extension from "N915F_Bootloader_Kitkat(4.4.4).tar.md5"
That is it will be like this : N915F_Bootloader_Kitkat(4.4.4).tar.md5---->N915F_Bootloader_Kitkat(4.4.4).tar
Wow thanx.. i was reluctant to download fw with kies and extract this. U r a life saver
md5 error!!!!!
if you take md5 error, delete "*.md5" extension and try again.
Example: bootloader.tar.md5 --> bootloader.tar

Yes, you can root 5.0.2. Do the cf auto root first. Once it boots, then you should have root. But it's not done yet. Do not reboot or turn off device as it won't be able to boot back yet. Go to play store and install flashify.
After that, extract the 5.0.2 firmware you flashed (rename and erase the .md5 extension at the end and you now have a .tar file, which can be extracted like a .zip or .rar.
Once extracted, get boot.img and recovery.img and copy them to your phone.
Then open flashify, locate those two images and flash them.
You should have root without any problem.
First flash recovery.img. and renaming it wouldn't cause any harm. The file probably looks like this: something.tar.md5.
If you remove md5, then you have .tar file. Extract boot.img and recovery.img from it like you would from any .zip

Hi, thanks for the info; I also have the same problem.
I would like to clarify your instructinos.
1) I have A500FU with lollipop 5.0.2 (which i downloaded and installed with odin)
2) I download cf auto root for 4.4.4?? is that right?
3) I extract boot.img/recovery.img from the 5.0.2 tar file
4) install flashify and flash the above.
Also you mentioned I need to do 3,4 without reboot, coz it wont boot. What will happen if it reboots by mistake? WIll it need a kies restore? or even just a 5.0.2 rom flash?
thanks alot

If it reboots by mistake, then it would be stuck in kernel logo and the screen would become whitish and remain like that. It's because CF root from 4.4.4 installs old kernel. If this happens, press volume down, home and power key together so that your device turns off.
Then enter download mode to reflash the rom with odin.

Out of curiosity, what if I replace the recovery.img inside cf-auto-root with the new recovery.img from lollipop? Will that do the trick??

So, you don't flashed the recovery.img and boot.img! After flash Cf-Auto-Root, Use Flashify and flash the boot.img + recovery.img from 5.0.2 Lollipop ROM.
I wl wxplain in detail. I took odin. Connected the phone. Den loaded up the auto root file. Clicked on start. So it starts flashing.. after the flashing is complete.. phone reboots itself... ryt ? Den it stays on the samsung screen. Stuck. I can use flashify only if i can boot up completely.

Now you have to reflash the stock ROM Lollipop for your A7 with Odin.
After flashed the ROM, flash the CF-Auto-Root package.
Don't reboot your device, otherwise same bootloop problem, when the device is bootup install "Flashify" from Play Store. Extract the boot.img and recovery.img from the 5.0.2 ROM.
Flash the boot.img and recovery.img from the Stock ROM with Flashify then restart your device and you have a fully functional root on your A7.
This method has worked with my A5.
Still not working
Than you for ur concern man.. But still it dos not work. After flashing cf auto root... I Just leave the phone. I do no touch it. It should boot into android. But it is not. It stays in d same screen.. Samsung... Galaxy A7
Maybe this works only for A3 and A5

How to: Root for G530FZ lollipop 5.0.2

Hi, I have successfully rooted 5.0.2 rom on galaxy grand prime with cm autoroot for kit kat.
1. flash new 5.0.2 update with odin (if you had root on kit kat flash 2 times, it wont work first time) http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/54047/G530FZXXU1BOG2_G530FZOXA1BOG2_PHE/

4. boot again - phone will reboot 3 times before booting into system and updating super su, launch and set up super su
5. download recovery.zip, extract and flash it, WARNING use this recovery only with G530FZXXU1BOG2_G530FZOXA1BOG2_PHE, it is extracted from this rom and it should fix boot loop after flashing the cm autoroot package
6. reboot and you have rooted lollipop on G530FZ

Flash zip in download mode

Hey
Yesterday I flashed a boot logo on my SM-G928F in TWRP. After that my phone doesn't boot into system or recovery anymore - there's always a blackscreen. I only can boot into download mode.
I tried to flash a stock-rom via Odin but that didn't helped - the same blackscreen, because a stock rom does not replace the boot logo.
I think I have to flash the stock boot logo ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1378RQ5w_vAAmnQ3HB0FymZXWIm12T0Mg/view ) , but thats a zip which I can't flash via Odin.
There a two ways in my mind which could work:
1. Getting a tar.md5 file with the stock boot logo.
2. Getting a tool which allows to flash zips in download mode of the phone.
I really hope that someone could help me with my big problem.
Best regards
DGB
Hey there
I recommend to flash the firmware again but this time after flashing firmware flash the twrp and flash the zip via adb sideload ( a feature present in TWRP) as by adb sideload one is able to flash zip files as well
Or i recommend you to get to know the combination of keys that will help you to directly enter into recovery
Hope it will work
And if there is any problem let me know
As in the internet there are various ways by which a person can flash the custom rom and custom recovery via odin

Hey there
I recommend to flash the firmware again but this time after flashing firmware flash the twrp and flash the zip via adb sideload ( a feature present in TWRP) as by adb sideload one is able to flash zip files as well
Or i recommend you to get to know the combination of keys that will help you to directly enter into recovery
Hope it will work
And if there is any problem let me know

Thank you for your answer but that didn't worked. The problem is that flashing the stock firmware doesn't replace or repair the boot image. So I've got a never ending blackscreen when I want to boot in system or TWRP/Recovery and that means that I'm not able to configure ADB Sideload.
I can only boot into download mode, nothing else.
I think the jpg of the boot logo I've installed was corrupted so it can't be loaded
You are in download mode so you have to press all the keys including the home button and once the download mode closes then press the "volume up key and power key and also the home button and then your phone will automatically reboot into recovery.
I know, I tried that multiple times but it doesn't work. Blackscreen... only a never ending blackscreen. The download mode is the only thing taht works. I have to flahs the old boot logo via download mode... but i don't know how
Wait for the battery to be drained out completely and then do what i said earlier

I did. but it didn't work, too
I really need someone who is able to integrate the stock boot logo into a custom rom which can be flashed via Odin... Or I need a tool which allows to install zips in download mode. I tried adb sideload again but it didn't recognizes my phone when its not in recovery.
I really think that my S6 edge + is nearly died :crying:

I know but Samsung removed this feature some months ago so I'm not able to do this
--- I know, it's from the German Samsung Support but it's a confirmation that Samsung removed this feature:

Not even flashing a factory firmware (4 files with pit) with repartition option selected?
What about a combination firmware and then a full stock FW?

I only tried to flash stock firmware with AP in Odin... and I tried stock rom with re-partition.
Where do I get those 4 files? I need XEU for my SM-G928F. It would be very nice if you could give me a more detailed instruction for this because I never worked with PIT...
get samfirm v0.3.6
On the model you put sm-g928f, region XEU, tick the binary nature box and press "check update". Download the resulting file, that is a factory firmware to do repairs in a 4 files format: bootloader, pda or ap, modem or cp and csc!
You will get this file:
SM-G928F_1_20180305151001_nsg8uwd0sh_fac.zip
Put each file in the correct field in odin!
About combination firmware, it needs to be same binary version as stock firmware already programed on phone! if first number on firmware version is a 3, combination FW need to be also bin 3!
G928FXXS4CRB4 if is 4, you need comb fw also in bin 4! if you downgrade you get odin error and a softbrick!
Was checking if any comb. fw is available, but i find only paid files for your phone model!

It worked means you got your phone back to normal or you could get the firmware using samfirm?
Pit file is always inside csc file on a 4 files fac firmware. Use the pit on firmware because the pit from your link can be from a early version of android and have different bits for partition sizes!
EDIT: Here, got the combination fw for the binary 4. IF your phone is already ok, don't use this!
