I installed the Asus OTA first and when I tried to root, it failed. Searching around on Internet, the little info I found, indicates that at the moment of this writing, you can't root with the latest OTA. So if you just purchased the ME70C and intend to root, don't accept the OTA. You might be able to do the OTA afterward without loosing root, if you follow certain procedures (i don't know what, just saw it mentioned somewhere).

any news about root asua me70c
I trying every possible root method but it dosent root the tablet

dont work
this solutnion dont work after OTA update. Now me70c have :

Asus replied that the only way is to unlock bootloader, so I asked them how to and now I'm waiting for a reply!

Hello, I have followed the instructions in the thread and I keep getting stuck in bootloop. My ME70C has Android 4.3 and Kernel 3.4.43, and I followed these instructions from the original post:
1 - Make sure you are on stock ROM
2 - Download RootZenFone-1.4.5r.apk
3 - Install RootZenFone-1.4.5r.apk
4 - Put your tablet in airplain mode
5 - Open RootZenFone
6 - Start Rooting Process
7 - Wait untill all the process ends (you will be in Demo Mode)
8 - Reboot your tablet

I keep getting stuck at the ASUS boot screen, so I had to factory reset. I have tried twice now with no luck. Any idea what could be going wrong? Thanks in advance.
Also, is it possible to brick my device by doing this? Or will I always be able to factory reset to fix my phone? Just curious, I am new to Android.

After update to 4.4.2 its not work

Me170cx root
Successfull root of asus memo pad 7 me170cx, using the root one click instructions from the memopad 7 me70c, steps i took, installed app. Followed directions in app.

I'm looking to buy this tablet today (Microcenter $59)..does it still work as if out the box or have you noticed some "changes" in performance?

Is this method working with a ME70C? I just bought my new Asus ME70C and would like to root it. Thanks.

about stock rom and rooting especific memo pad 7 from Asus
hello!
I'm trying to root an especific tablet "Asus MemoPad 7 - Android 4.4.2 - Model K01A (ME70CX)"
The thing is, with the last update if I have a problem, I dont have how to go back on factory settings...
In the instructions you say "Make sure you are on stock ROM" what it realy means?
Is there any link that someone can send me or tell me how to root this device?
I try ZenFone, OneClick, even other root methods but is not working...
I would be very thankful if some one can help me...
Thanks and sorry about it!

[ROOT success] Pipo M6pro

Hi,
I found a working souce of usb adb driver (after many tries and fails) at: http://minix.com.hk/downfile/RK_DriverAssitant.zip
it comes with an installer which works!
After this a basic script provided for an easy installation of supersu and busybox:
search for RK3188_ROOT (or use http://www.mediafire.com/download/dzx599tkq0rdehl/RK3188_ROOT_Tool.zip)
Thanks please rar password ? RK3188_ROOT ok i find it Thanks
question
Any pointers for an extremely new user? this is my first device -M6pro- and I'm quite attached to it, but I can't backup nor install many apps on the SD, so I kinda want to root it, but I don't know the first thing about this, just installed the drivers directly from pipo.cn and don't know whats next. Also, It's not like Pipo is very popular around, so i know there won't be any easy rooting apps like huauei or HTC models have
Success!!!
Just rooted it, worked the fourth time, since i didn't met a few prerequisites, but once i got the hang of it, it went smoothly! thanks!!
well---
Got the official kitkat update from pipo and it works nicely. problem is, the root method doesn't works anymore.

uh... can't post links, but it's the newest one in the pipo chinese website, on the support section of the m6pro 3g
after upgrading I cannot use sparky's method anymore, nor flash anything, since the recovery mode seems to be lacking a few options. contacted Pipo but so far I haven't got an answer about rooting it, only the boilerplate "all our tablets come unrooted"

[Solved] Vodafone SmartTab 4 - Update problems after ROOT

The SOLUTION for this Problem can be find on a german forum: android-hilfe.de
The Link to the solution is: android-hilfe.de/lenovo-allgemein/602909-vodafone-smarttab-4-update-problem-durch-root-4.html#post8038841
If wanted I can try to translate the solution... but my english is not so good. But if it is wanted i will do my best.
Hello community,
I and a few other german people have problems after Rooting the Vodafone SmartTab 4.
At first I would explain what i have done.
1.) Rooting the device with Framaroot -> all working good
2.) Want to flash the official 4.4.2 Update -> Warning that my device is rooted, but it is still downloaded
3.) Installing the Update -> getting this Error at automatic and manuel: Look at the Attachment please
4.) Unroot the Tablet with Framaroot -> didn´t function... Updater says the Tab is rootet... same if I trying it with the Unrootoption in SuperSU
I have the Original Recoverie on the Device and only the rooted Vodafone (yes i rooted it again... the unroot function correct, tested it with the Root Checker App).
Does anyone know a Custom Recoverie and a CustomROM for this Device? Or have anyone a Idea how i can put the 4.4.2 Update on this Device?
Thanks for all your help!
Sincerly Althalus
PS: If someone need the Update.zip from Vodafone... (<500MB) i can Post the Link in a PN.
PS2: From a other German i get the information that this Device should be a "Alcatel OneTouch Pop 8", Model: P323X, if this helps.

Well, I would say sometimes some problems start to appear after rooting your device because of apps, look what previously going on over your device is its imposed by the limits of vendors and now all those apps are free to use in any manner the apps like. So, I would consider it as a demerit of rooting the device.

Well, yes you can get the original ROM try heading over to the sammobile/firmware section and putting your device appropriate information you can get the stock ROM available for your device. Then you can take the help of ODIN to flash that stock ROM over to your device.
i have the same problem
We are working to get the "original" 4.2.2 Rom. If can make it work on this *** Tab i would send you Link via PN MrLiakos. I cant post links at this time.

Well I guess the first question would be why make a Q&A thread for a root method months after that method was relevant or even usable by most people here?
Thank you!
****in unbelievable. was flashing a safe rom from 4.1.2 rebooted back into 4.3. locked down. efs wiped. radio wiped. after several days of research, i found you and this. FIXED! back on verizon. rooted. nandroid backup installed. efs back. knox gone. **** YOU VERIZON!! assholes. You, good Sir, Rock. BETTER THAN CASUAL. Fo Sho!
I guess this might be the most appropriate thread to post in. My friend no longer uses his GS4 which was rooted on MJ7. I used TiBu to unfreeze all the apps and software updated to MK2. I am getting all these messages that my phone is tampered etc. Do I need to "unroot" first and then update? I'm not getting an update available for anything beyond MK2. My goal is to actually return this phone back to "stock" and to get the latest firmware 4.4.3+. What do I need to do?

Yeah, that's true.
The majority of the questions I get on this is how to use Saferoot on phones where Saferoot says that "your kernel is patched" and "your device is not supported".

Success root on Acer DA223HQL
I can report another success story to gain root acess on Acer DA223HQL !
The bigest problem on this All-In-One Android system is to find the USB Slave Port. You have to open the device on the backside where the battery is located. After this is done, you can find an USB Micro-B port in the left upper corner of the battery case. (see Attachment)
Plug in your PC, run saferoot as ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
...descrieded and you will get fun as root!
It seems, there is no posibility to modifiy the bootloader - at now.
?!
I'm trying to run the script on my Mac running 10.7.5. Every time I try to type in the commands posted, I get the return message of "no such file or directory." I even tried to open install.sh through a shell window, going /Users/blah blah blah /saferoot/install.sh, but no luck there, either. Any suggestions?

root an old phone
As title says, i want to root an old phone.
It is HTC Incredible S S710e, the Android version is "4.0.4", Kernel version "3.0.16 - g693e8e9", Build number "4.08.1400.5 CL390815 release-keys"
i didn't buy this phone in America, and it didn't come with a carrier when i bought it.
My laptop is Win 8.1 pro, i couldn't find the driver for this phone, so i downloaded a "UniversalAdbDriverSetup.msi" from http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Android%20Drivers
I followed everything in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758 but it seems not to work.
it says succeeded in getroot though, then it says
"Something has deleted su - looking for the backup copy"
"The backup is gone too - can't recover!"
"Press any key to continue ..."
then i pressed enter, the window closed and that's all.
Please help me! Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks for the special routing for "newbies". I am new to rooting and all the things rooting opens up. I have a Verizon Galaxy S 3 (SCH-I535) with Android 4.4.2, Baseband ver. I535)YUDNE1, Kernal ver 3.4.0. I want to install Android 5, but from reading several posts Verizon is probably not going to offer an upgrade to Android 5 for the Galixy G 3. I have seen several posts and instructions for installing Android 5.1 5.2. I need some guidance on the sequence of upgrade steps. Do i need to root my phone first, ie use saferoot and then do the Android 5 install? Or is the Android 5.X install a combined root and upgrade to Android 5?
The instruction for using saferoot are written in a general manner; is there a a more step by step procedure written for first timers? ( I am computer savvy and can follow instructions. Just do not have experience working with cell phones).
Can you recommend any particular one of the programs/procedures for installing Android 5.X on the Verizon Galaxy G 3 that has a developed step by step procedure and offers a high degree of success for newbies?
Thanks for your time and help to get me started down the right upgrade path.
Works on Kindle Fire 1st gen.
It worked using your instructions for my Mac running Yosemite on my Kindle Fire 1st gen. Thanks!

[Q] Need help Root Asus Zenpad C7.0

Hello!
I'm using tablet Asus Zenpad C7.0. Model Number P01Y, Android version 5.0.2.
I want to root this device. I have tried two different ways: Kingo Root software and Dingdong but all failed.
Please everyone help me!
Thank you so much.
Regards.
Danny.
Please help me .
Thanks.
Actually really interested in the topic as well, using p01z, really want to root it to get rid of the bloat and possibly if there is a way get an ozon or cay. to run on it, spent several days on the net and have tried several methods including the above mentioned everything failed. Surprisingly there is no info on P01Z anywhere... like zenpad does not exist lol
Waiting for this also
Should we assume this just isn't going to happen? I don't know enough to figure it out myself.
same here just tried without luck
I have no experience at rooting at all, but I tried using the adb debugger and figured out a way to monitor the tablets' data.
Although it didn't help me, I'm still looking for a way to root my new ZenPad C7.0.
So this really isn't going to happen?
I'd really like to root this device but I'm having no luck in doing so..
I tried the method described here but with almost all combination, it still does not work. I get a fastboot remote unknown command.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
So my conclusion is that there is no known method exist now. Some of the hits one got from searching the internet are bluff and fake.
Any Luck? Asus ZenPad C 7.0 P01Z
Anyone in this thread alive? Or is it dead??
I recently purchased the Asus ZenPad C 7.0 P01Z and am looking to root. I tried "Kingo ROOT" and got no luck. Did a little bit of investigating and it looks like it may be the Bootloader that is preventing it from properly working. Trying to "Unlock the bootloader" and running again. Not sure if it will work, but figured id ask anyone here.....
Please let me know if anyone here has any luck.... I really need to get this thing to perform better. Overclocking is my goal... any other advice on how to improve performance is welcome as well! Feel free to message me here or email me (best way to reach me) at either:

That guide is for both kingo root and ding dong which the OP lists as non fuctional. I have also tried king root (both PC & APK versions without success).
I believe this unit cannot be rooted anytime soon. Better to find another device that is rootable.

Well, i don't really understand Russian but by the video what we can assume is that he's factory resetting it. In the second part of the video at least, we can see that he is using Kingroot to root the tablet.
Hey good news I've officially working on the root,
I will be using the sdk manual method.
I will also upload the files on XDA.
I will also need time to do this because I don't want to brick my tablet.

Agreed, thanks so much Kibs. Really appreciated; I picked up this tab the other day in the sales and the battery life is pretty poor thanks to all of the crapware and such. I cannot wait to load up Titanium and remove it all! Thanks again buddy.

hi guys still trying to do everything I can
it is harder than I expected
I tried to use the method for ASUS Zen pad 8.0 because its root has been released.
But when I tried it wouldn't work
so wish me luck again
*IF YOU WANT TO JOIN IN THE FUN IM GOING TO UPLOAD THE ROOT METHOD WHICH IS USED FOR ZENPAD 8.0*
F.Y.I
THIS METHOD WON'T BRICK YOUR DEVICE
YOU CAN FIND THE INSTRUCTIONS ON GOOGLE FOR ROOTING ZENPAD 8.0
IF YOU DO THE METHOD YOUR DEVICE WILL GO TO BOOTLOADER MODE SO TO SWITCH TO NORMAL MODE
PRESS THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON AND POWER BUTTON TOGETHER. THE DEVICE WILL BOOT TO NORMAL MODE.
Kibs, did you manage to get into recovery? The triggers I am using does not seem to be working. "unknown oem command".
Also, I'm stuck on what is presumably Fastboot (green background with the Android). Pressing power down + power doesn't allow me to boot into normal mode.

Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30, root ?

Hi,
I just recieved an Acer Iconia One 10, I want to know if it's possible to root this device ?
I tried with KingRoot (PC and app version), Kingoroot and it failed. SRS Root is supposed to support this tablet but it's not true : after rebooting I still don't have root and SU app, even if the program told me root is done.
Can you help me ?
Bump, please
bump plz respond

I want this too. Thanks in advance. I was thinking in flashing TWRP and then flashing SuperSU but there are no versions for this tablet. May I use other versions?
Impossible to boot with a custom that is not totally made for the model of the tablet. So still awaiting an answer.
