This thread will provide custom recovery ( CWM/TWRP ) flashable zip files of the stock frmware without knox software. This way you need not upgrade using OTA and hence will be able to move between stock and custom firmware if need to.
If you use OTA to upgrade to the latest firmware, your bootloader will be upgraded to facilitate knox. Once updated there is no going back. The roms in this thread will help you overcome this issue.
The only prerequisite is that you are not already running a knox enabled bootloader. You can find this out by going into download mode and checking if knox entries are shown in bootloader screen.
You will have the following advantages.
Bootloader is not touched, hence any compatible rom can be flashed, including custom roms
Only Samsung knox files are removed
Root & Busybox
Stock kernel
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Procedure
Download the Odin version of Philz recovery or my custom twrp recovery and flash.
Reboot to recovery first else custom recovery will be replaced by stock recovery.
Flash the ROM zip file
Reboot and Njoy...
As an additional step, you can flash the modem that comes with the ROM. The procedure to flash the modem is given below.
Use Odin v3.04
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.
Downloads
All files can be downloaded from my Mega folder. Choose the mega link and select SPH-L600 STOCK FIRMWARE folder. MD5 hash values are available in a separate file inside the folder.

My Dear Friend;
You are a saviour; you saved me from a lot of hassles. The modem worked very much. I had searched this whole over the net. Tried a lot of ways but this has restored my IMEI, and the phone works perfect.
It was after the last OTA that samsung had released and blocked my touch screen, I rooted the device, and then loaded one wrong recovery and everthing was gone. I did manage to find philz recovery and loaded an original rom of samsung, but withit together I lost the IMEI. Now thanks to you I have restored my phone )
Take Care my friend ....

Glad to be of some help.

Filling EXTREMELY STUPID
I clearly can not find the Mega link I have read ever single world of this entire thread for the past 3 hours while waiting on a VERY slow download of another stock rom.
I can not what so ever find the mega link. Is there any way you can guide me.

I'm in the same boat, i can't find the mega link, any help?

Are we being trolled?

Recovery mode unable to unpack custon ROM .zip files

hello,
i have been unable to install custom ROMs on my galaxy s2, various forums indicate the installation took place but in my own case the installation process stops when ever the kernel is trying to unpack the .zip file in order to commence installation. i have followed the step by step procedures of the devs but still havent been able to. especially resurrection and batista. are there any prerequisites i need to follow. i am currently using a rooted SGS2, kernel cf-root 5.2, stockROM XXLPH 4.0.3. thnks much.
i am not an expert when it comes to resurrection or batista, but i believe that some newer roms need at least the cwm recovery that comes with cf-root 5.4 or above, so maybe you should flash a newer stock rom with a corresponding newer cf-root to begin flashing.
or, if you want, you could flash the latest siyah kernel through odin, which is compatible with both stock and aosp/aokp roms and have a nice new touch recovery that is certainly able to flash all roms as well.
also, a problem is also a question and this thread belongs in the q&a section. reported. this time someone will move it for you, in the future, please post in the correct section in the first place, for reference have a look at the thread Questions belong in Q&A.
thank you for the response. kindly advice on what stable stock roms i could try. cus i believe i have also tried with a 5.3 but still same.
just also tried the F1 nexus rom still same. maybe i need to take the S2 back to factory, like repartitioning and all, pls what do you advice cus i think something behind has been messed up.
i also noticed something, when i flash with a stock ROM, the fone reboots into the android sytem recovery and i get an error "dst read(I/0 error)". please what does this mean.
please can someone help , i can only flash ROM's through ODIN, but cannot install zip files through recovery. recovery never unpacks the files and all ROM's come as zip files. please help

It depends, what kind of stock/custom kernel + custom mod you are referring to mate, this topic is quite old (CM9), for new stable revision (CM11) find ClockworkMod_v6.0.5.3-Cooperve ( accessible via my attachment : C7D971EC4CC8585A79903036C9AB9F82)
new version is based on MTD build, so old recovery as you mentioned, would not work on it . Restore back to stock and flash again with odin . if your sim card problems persist after flashing CM11, your baseband is probably old , so reflash some new stock firmware ( may or may not work )

Thanks for your reply mate...
I've tried 2 or 3 roms and got problem with space memory(only a few MB). I decide to back to a stockrom and the file I installed is bigger than the old firmware. Anyway avery roms I installed, leaves no space to install apps. I read about cm11 and cm9 thay are pretty unstables so I decide to not instal them (I'm a cm fan).
Could be useful to change pit files? Or do you know where find an original stock samsung s5830i firmware?
@Giobio, yep, most of the stock/custom kernel and roms are full of bugs, but I am experimenting with cm11 without major problems though. Getting OTA update constantly without breaking my delta is very good . For official stock firmware the only reliable source is sammobile.com database from best of my knowledge mate ,, just go there and choose firmware from top side and you will be directed to another page with couple of choices. If you know your original PDA/CSC/MODEM choose check firmware,, not so sure ,, choose firmware database , which requires fewer queries such as your preference country/region , model and OS type.

Thanks again, I downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile.com. It seems different from the one I found on the web so maybe the other one wasn't so original...

Help? Clean 4.4.4 Backup For Galaxy Mega (MetroPcs)
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody had a clean backup of the new kitkat 4.4.4 for MetroPcs Galaxy Mega that I can restore using TWRP because I do not have access to a computer nor anything but my phone & I'd like to install MegaKat. please lmk soon.
thank you.
how do i load baseband from stock rom zip using odin?
I was on Megafire and I loaded the stock kit kat 3.4.4 ROM for Metro from Sammobile using ODIN and the AP setting. The stock ROM loaded succesfully using ODIN, but the WIFI didn't work. I checked the baseband and noticed that it was still on the original baseband. I ended up using KIES to bring the phone back to Stock Metro 3.4.4 AND update the baseband. After that the WIFI worked. My question is how do I update the baseband from the stockrom zip using Odin without Kies?
I loaded Philz recovery with ODIN. and then I backed up the phone and rooted the phone from recovery. I booted into the ROM and tried to remove knox with SuperSU but I got no confirmation of removal. I loaded MetroMegakat sucessfully using BNB's instructions and rerooted in recovery. Google play store wouldn't load, so I had to sideload the links to the Gapps and Google play services from BNB.
The ROM works fine now and i seem to have root, but I tripped my Knox counter and there's a yellow warranty bit set.
I noticed that there are less apps than Megafire in Metrokat. Is there a reason you didn't include VIPER audio, Root app delete, and Wanam's exposed module? I'm glad you got rid of that terrible google camera and just left in the Samsung camera, though,
The Antutu score seems to be about 1000 points less than the Megafire rom. But everything works and the battery life seems better on MetroMegaKat. The only thing I would suggest is that you include the detailed instructions for loading the ROM liek you did for the MegaKat rom in the original post along with BNB's Gapps links.
I'd liek to request that you integrate the updated Google services into the V7 MetroKat rev. I'd also like to see you put the Xposed modules and Viper back in if possible.
Thanks for the great ROMs, man . You've made this phone perform so great, that as much as I want to upgrade, I can't justify buying another phone. I'd just be wasting money and compromising a bunch of stuff to get a small speed increase. There are faster phones out there, but none that give me this screen size, battery life, speed, 16 GB internal memory, LTE, with a 128 gb external SD, and a replaceable battery.. And no phone has a better developer.

Hope is intact for me though btw I flashed france & indian stock firmware directly from odin, and then just rooted it with stock recovery and without flashing cwm, now i haven't find a single sod or freeze issues yet, but france one is perfect and smoothest of all, inu version is bit laggy, but I am happy my measure issue is sorted now, btw 4.4 kitkat is designed to run smoothly even on a single core cpu with like 512mb ram, but as you said, they'll not gonna waste their presious time to work on our outdated phones

Hi there, I like to use this Deodexed JB ROM, currently on Slim-4.4.4 9 official 8260 (GT-I9100G; XXLSP; Kernal - 3.0.85+; CWM recovery 6.0.5.1). My question is will CWM 6.0.5.1 recovery will serve the purpose? what are the steps involve for flashing? Is odin is mandatory? a post outlines the following steps, is this ok? It also says to use temporary CWM, will my current CWM will do?

Actually, all that's needed is modem.img from the KDZ for the WiFi to work. Also normal flash should do it too.

I have a d620 that came with a v10e firmware. Two nights ago my phone updated to the 5.0.2 and I got stucked on the lg logo. Fortunately I've managed to flash it back using the stock rom. I really want to update to lollipop and I was wondering if any of you guys know how to get around the bootloop problem.

D618 V20b lollipop BUG on COC
is there any bug on COC graphic failures on war logs and etc.? on clash of clans?
im using the stock-rom lollipop - CIS version and the bug on the COC game.
you have Screen wake up notifications with Glimpse Notifications from google play, for all lg g2 mini. perfect.
I've flashed the zip on my d620r, everything works great. There are no bugs, battery life is very good compared with KitKat 4.4.2, and smoother overall. Great job!
Upgrade from V10g to V20a keeping data
First of all, thanks to all putting effort into this development.
I own a D620r with software V10g and KitKat 4.4.2, unlocked bootloader and TWRP. I used towelroot to root it. Everything runs fine so far.
I got a notification for the official OTA update to V20a and downloaded it to the device. I tried to apply it but were stuck in a recovery loop. I learned that official OTA updates need stock recovery and I cannot apply them having TWRP installed. I applied this fix to escape from recovery loop. The device is alive again, but the LG updater app asks to apply the downloaded update once a day.
Now I found this thread. The phone is my main device and contains lots of apps and settings. I want to keep the data if possible.
A) Do I have to expect trouble when I flash the V20a from this thread without wiping the data partition?
B.1) Or would the following procedure be an alternative:
Flash stock recovery (I made a backup using Rashr)
Revert bootloader to original locked aboot
Apply OTA update
Root
Replace bootloader with the unlocked one
Flash TWRP
B.2) I read that towelroot is based on a security vulnerability of the linux kernel that is fixed with Lollipop . If that is true, can someone give a hint how to root on Lollipop?
C) Can I choose between V20c/D620 and V20a/D620r or do they belong to different devices and are incompatible?
Thanks for your time reading this post.
Thanks
Thank you for the Rom and the instructions. It works great, there are no functions that are not working.
It also solves the bug for the smartwatches that caused battery drains on Kitkat.

Never, because this is the stock rom in a flashable .zip for custom recovery.
And xposed for android 5 ist still alpha and doesn't work correct on our phone.
If you want to try xposed you can just install it.
Read the xposed thread for that.
Please don't ask any further questions about xposed here, this thread is only about zip flashable stock rom.
Thank you.

This post was a mistake. Question is below this.
I just flashed this ROM and a problem appeared
Every time I boot my phone up I get this message.

What does it mean?
EDIT:
Also one more question, can I update my phone OTA in case there is a new software?
