Change Power Menu longpress timeout (Xposed) - G2 General

One of the things I love about AOSP ROMs as opposed to LG ROMs is that the power menu activates a lot quicker. I recently found a way to replicate this effect using Xposed.
1. Install Xposed (make sure you're on Dalvik)
2. Install Xposed additions, then activate it and reboot. There appears to be a pro version, though you won't be needing it for this.
3. Go to Buttons, Long Press Delay = whatever you want. 100 is the lowest, 250 feels about right. Too low and your risk activating the power menu when trying to lock the phone.
4. Tap "Add new Key", then press the Power button to detect it. Press OK and then enter the newly created "Power" option
5. Tap "Add New Condition", then tap "Screen On". Optionally add "Lock Screen" as well. No need to add "Screen Off", I don't mind the long delay when the screen is off as it prevents against accidental activation.
6. Inside the Condition, check Long Press, then configure it to open the Power Menu. Make sure to do this for each condition.
Ta-da, instantaneous Power Menu.

Thanks ? What you think about module for additional apps in Quick Window on stock KitKat? ?

[How-To][Video] Disable Home Button Wake

One thing I noticed about the Note 2 while wearing jeans and sitting down is that that home button gets pressed accidentally. Luckily, the phone has amazing battery so it's really non issue whereas my Gnex would die even faster than normal due to it's not so big battery.

How to disable this, though? Easy. But you must be at least rooted. After though, you just need an app like Root Explorer.
1. Mount as R/W and open /system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl. To get into gpio, hold it, and click "edit with text editor"
2. Scroll to the line that says:
"key 172 HOME WAKE"
3. Now delete the HOME so it says:
"key 172"
4. You can change "WAKE" to "WAKE_DROPPED" if you use the stock lock screen and want your home button *NOT* to send you back to the home screen when you use it to wake.
5. Save it, reboot, profit.
And now when the screen is off, clicking the "Home" button will no longer wake up the phone. Thanks to cam30era of XDA for the help.
(if need be, this can be moved to the "Help" section, posted here cause it gets more traffic and most people seem to post here for questions regardless)

A little problem with Long-press action on nav-bar

I'm currently on a D851 G3 stock rooted MM, I've enabled long-press action on nav-bar however, after I press and hold the home button to turn off the screen then unlocking the screen, open an app and press home button to back to homescreen (here is the problem), it won't, you need to press once again to make it happen I mean I have to press twice to make it back to home, the problem just occurs once right after unlocking my phone. Btw, there is no problem at all after I turn off Long-press action so I assumes there is a minor bug with this greenify function on my phone. Just a small issue but I hope someone can help me with it. Tks guys for reading

task button long press

Hi community, i'm looking a way to activate the long press functionality using the task button (the one next to home that is not back button). I just update my phone Xiaomi to android 8.1, i use a few aplications (critical for me) that require a long press on that button, i imagine that is some config missing on build.prop

[PSA] [WARNING] Android Pie Beta + Secure Startup + WQHD = Black Screen [FIX]

Anyone on the Android Pie Beta may have noticed the little * in the changelog telling you to disable Secure Startup.
If you were like me and assumed it would just be for the first boot after updating and re-enabled secure startup afterwords you may be facing this issue too where you can no longer use your phone because the screen is not coming on.
Luckily i found a pretty nice fix thanks to a user on Reddit HERE

I had this issue! There is a way to fix this!
You need to get Bixby set up blindly, and then ask to activate power saving mode, and turn it on. It'll lower the screen resolution and fix the issue. This is how I sorted it out.
I can post screenshots of what area to press, so you can get it set up.
Edit: Album with screenshots for Bixby, literally the one time it has come in handy, ahah!
By default, the navigation bar will be at the bottom, so find the home button, then move up slightly from there. After set up, ask Bixby to turn on power saving mode, then hit the area to confirm. After you have done this, do a reset of your settings in the menu, and it'll fix it. No factory restore needed. Hope this helps anyone.

Seems to be a bug with Android Pie + Secure Startup + a WQHD+ resolution.
So you need to change the resolution and then disable secure startup so it does not happen again.
I managed to get Bixby to enable power saving mode by unlocking the phone with my fingerprint, tapping the bixby key (you should be able to hear bixby welcome you) and tapping where the next arrow should be at the bottom center of the screen,
After this i held the Bixby Key and asked her to enable power saving, and then tapping apply (blind) near the bottom right of the screen.

Question Zenfone 9, phone can be shut down without unlocking.

So if the phone is locked, anyone without the password or proper authentication can turn on the phone then hold the power button and shut it down.
Other phones ask you to unlock the phone in order to do that so that unauthorized people can't mess with your phone.
Any help on how I can secure my device?
Thanks
It's very standard behaviour in Android phones, long press of the power button shows up the power menu with the usual "Power off" , "Reboot" and "Emergency" even if the phone is locked.
Double press the power button also usually open the default cam app (and anyone can take pics without even unlocking the phone)
If you want to disable this you can go to the settings and disable the long press power off option and the double press option
: Settings -> Advanced -> Smart Key : Disable double press and Disable press&hold
But be aware if you disable the press&hold option the only way to reboot the Zenfone 9 will be from Power icon located in the bottom right of the completely expanded notifications panel
Also if you hold power + vol down for 12s (short is screenshot) it will do a force reboot. There is a combination for almost all android phones to do this
