[Radio] MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.127.76.00R - Droid Ultra Original Android Development

Use at your own risk, no warranties expressed or implied.
I did not want to take the latest VoLTE update but wanted the latest radios. So, I:
Pulled the radios from the FXZ @SamuriHL posted here: [FXZ] 4.4.4 23.3.24 Maxx/Ultra
Used the same instructions for flashing radios posted by @Topsnake here: [4.4.4][Radio]MSM8960PRO_BP_232.55.52.00r
and got my phone baseband version updated to the latest MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.127.76.00R (see screenshot below).
Steps taken:
1. Download the radios from here: MSM8960PRO_BP_23255.127.76.00R.zip (Updated Link)
2. Unzip to the same folder where you fasbtoot.exe resides
3. Reboot into bootloader
4. Open command windows where your fastboot.exe and run these:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot reboot
5. Reboot

For me, when I went from 4.4.2 radio to 4.4.4 - it became worst - dropped calls, weaker signal. This radio was reported to have improved signal - only time will tell.
But, generally, newer should be better - that's the main reason for me.

Will give this a try. I just got a used maxx yesterday which came installed with 4.4.4 (same as yours). At home, it struggles to get 3 bars when connected to H+ compared to my old Atrix HD which had no problem getting full signal strength.
did you see improvements after flashing this?

Link down not getting to download to my mobile

After testing the phone at home last night, I can say that the new radio doesn't really make much difference. I'm still getting between 1-2 bars on H+. I will try the old 4.2.2 radio to see if that works.

Can some one post a working download link

The original link was working - I've tested it from 2 different computers of other people - all you needed to do is click download button at the top of the browser. Be it as it may, I've moved the file to Media Fire - the link in the OP is updated.

Thanks for the support

I flashed this radio . awsome .. My ruim (indian local cdma) works great

This radio did nothing good for me - weaker signal and dropped calls. I went back to 4.4.2 19.6.3 Radio:

This radio seems to cause my phone to have a harder time keeping LTE connections. It's causing more waking while searching for LTE and higher battery drain. Will have to downgrade, I guess.

Link says file deleted... Any other link pls

Is it possible to flash an older Radio to a newer one at locked boot loader and Su 6-7.3 stock 4.4.4???

No lte base band after rsd?

I was on the ics leak and rsd back to.173. A friend just purchased a new maxx and his base band shows an lte radio and mine does not. I used RAZR utility. Any ideas? We are getting lte soon and would love to use it but have no way to confirm currently
you wont be connecting to LTE if you don't have the base band. use the following rsd utility and and flashable file to restore the baseband.
it will wipe your phone clean.

This is what I'm working with. I frozen an amount of apps but they should keep me from having a 4g base band.
I used a utility to restore from the ics leak and thought it installed everything. My phone is setup exactly like I want right now. Is there no way to just fast boot the 4g back in without wiping? I guess its what I will have to do but damn.
the utility is not able to install the lte radio at times. rsd does that without problem. as far as i know there is no other way. you would also see that phone takes lot of time to catch the signal if you restart it. this will be fixed after the restore using rsd.
so if you want to use LTE you would need to reflash it using the above two files.
I will do this tonight. You are right. It takes a really long time to catch a signal. I thought i used full rsd via the utility I downloaded on my laptop. I will do it by your links and get it up and going
Hey if I found the 6.12.173 update do you think I could just flash it from stock recovery? Longshot. Worst case I'm guess it it will fail to install. Just trying.g to do it from work w no laptop
i don't think it will work. its missing the file which needs to be update(in this case its the lte radio)
Wow. It worked! Feels awesome. Lost no data. Worked perfect!
Before
Flashed thru stock recovery and temp uprooted via ota rootkeeper
After
Sweet!

Data/apn problem need help.pls

I have a problem with my data once i enter right apn settings for my phone network i can see the data connection near the signal bars. Letter H. I can recieve messages from facebook through data but i cant do any outgoing things like access google play log in to facebook search the web etc. I have to use wifi. Prior to that i was running wanam rom. And i wanted to try out arhd. And i noticed the problem there so i switch back to wanam and the problem still persist. Aldo i dont know if it has anything to do with it but the enable/disable apn and apn protocol options in mobile networks on phone is grayed out. Maybe a bootloader problem? If so how so how do i fix it? Otherwise how do i fix thisnissue? Thanks in advance.

You may have flashed a new modem when you were playing with custom ROMs, check the sticky thread for advice on radio firmware and how to replace yours.
Also check your RIL matches your radio version, GETRIL from the play store may help you identify/solve the problem - but make sure you understand what you are doing before you flash anything.

as far as flashing rooting iam well informed on that matter. well, in regards to flashing modems. im on wanam 4.3 to be exact lj5, there is an optionin aroma to update modem etc. i always choose to do so and all was good. now trying out the arhd 15.2 to be exact (also lj5), DOES NOT have the option in aroma to update modem. and if it does it automatically i dont think it would make any difference since both roms i flashed is both based on lj5.
on a the side note i did flash the new lk4 rom from wanam just to test it out. used it for 2 days. all went well but wanted to go back to lj5, just because but even after reverting back to lj5 my data/apn was still still working fine. ( note that i did this prior to OP incident.)
btw i dont know anything about RIL etc.
no answer? i managed to get getril from playstore. and it says my baseband is i9300dddlj1 my ril is uknown.

If your phone is working with no issues then no, there's no need to update the radios or PRL. The radio and baseband are the same things, just FYI. Also, I don't think the latest MeanRom ICS is v0.9, it should be v6.5, at least that's the version I'm rocking and there isn't a more updated version that I'm aware of. You'll want to update your radios if you plan on trying out any of the Jb roms though but the dev will post that in their thread so there's no confusion. To update your radio is pretty simple, follow the directions at the post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645890
I am on Jelly bean rom I should have said that. Meanbeam 0.9 . But thanks for your help.

Running RUUs w/o computer

Fried my laptops HDD, but is there anyway to run a ruu without a computer. I keep seeing info from other uses about running a ruu that'll fix the black screen issues with epilson kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2860486
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
The only question I have about that is I've realized its based from 2.23 fw...I'm guessing if I wanted 3.xx.xxx again. I'd have to update again.
That method flashes stock recovery. I don't have any means of flashing a custom recovery after I've flashed that RUU
AT&T hasn't released 3.x software, so therefore no corresponding RUU yet.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Well that sucks. I was hoping to flash xboxs latest kernel
@jxcorex28
If your S-off and Supercid than you can flash the 3.28.401.6 from link below .my device is the AT&T variant and the above 3.28.401.6 works great on mine and would allow you to use the updated kernel you wish to run

To upgrade my fw to the latest, I just ran the developer edition ruu 3.28.1540.5. Since it has the same bands as AT&T, my lte speeds weren't affected at all. In fact, in places way out of my city where I used to get spotty coverage going in and out, I now get consistent connection with a decent speed. I'm very happy I did mine this way.
Since you don't have a computer, maybe you can see if someone can make a bootable ruu from the exe posted in the forums
Who started that thread you pulled the RUU from ? Honestly I was thinking about doing GPE conversion. I rarely use sense anyways
I'm on 3.28.401.7 right now, have been for about 3 or 4 weeks

This Is the one I believe. Someone had made another post for the 3.xx ruu , bc the original one (at that time) was a few pages in. They one I downloaded was an exe file tho, the page has since been updated with zips ( not sure if they're just zipped exe files or bootable ruus, didn't really look)
In any case, it was the best decision I ever made for my AT&T m8. It was pretty cool to see it without all the AT&T bloatware and boot animations too, tho that changed pretty quick when I wiped it and flashed roms again
I've never used a RUU before, but I am on 3.28.401.7...just had to rename to 0P9BIMG and hboot flash....I've been looking for a way to convert to GPE. I never use sense roms

Can't flash any Rom - "assert failed: oppo.very_trustzone ERROR 7"

I'm currently on CM 13.0-20160809-NIGHTLY-onyx and I've tried to flash three different Roms on my phone (Two different versions of cm14 and OOS3) with TWRP. But every time I get the error message attached in the screenshot.
Now, I've seen a few people online having similar problems, but it was mostly for cm12 and the suggested fixes are not really helpful for my situation.
I've somehow lost my stock backup so I'm kinda lost right here.

In general Error 7 usually means you're using the wrong version of TWRP. I'm still using Blu_Sparks version for the new bootloader.

You need to upgrade your bootloader and TWRP.you are using very old CM and now everything is changed so upgrade your boot loader and recovery.
I already use TWRP 3.0.2-0 which is the newest version according to TWRP Manager.
How do I upgrade my bootloader?
Edit: So I found this way to do it :Link
The thing is: it says the bootloader must be unlocked, but if I type "fastboot devices" I get nothing back. "adb devices works. I'm pretty sure that my bootloader is unlocked since I have a custom rom and my device is rooted but I'm not sure if I have activated the CM recovery option in the developer settings ever since.
I really don't wanna brick my phone so I'm not sure if I should blindly follow the steps in the link above.

"fastboot devices" doesn't work unless you are in the bootloader
