004999.... Imei - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have S3 GT-I9300 4.3 JB.
Last night my phone was working. I didn't even do anything. Suddenly I lost my network signals. I checked my IMEI and it was 004999 I don't know what I am supposed to do. I have tried many solutions available on xda but none worked!

A list of what you have tried so far would be helpful otherwise you will get loads of answers suggesting things you have already tried.

No need if you have tried the following
(1) efs restore
(2) flash stock with Odin
(3) Patched modem and kernel
Then it is service repair.

JB wipes IMEI ?

ive ran into several people who says their imei was wiped or resetted to 00499... after updating to JB
was wondering why is this happening ? , also if one has a device which its IMEI was changed, then he shouldnt update to JB ? that will force him to repair IMEI again ?
thank you.
Whatever... Just backup the EFS folder.

Your IMEI , is not reset if flashing rom JB , but for safety run a backup folder EFS ( for samsung device )
Make a backup of your IMEI / MEID / EFS Data in case you need to restore it in the event that it is lost after a flash.
This will put a copy of efs.sbn on the root of your internal sdcard.
i did make a backup with EFSPRO, would that do the trick ?
anyways im just asking in general why is this even happening in particular with JB ?

It happens with any flash ICS JB custom .
99% to 100% of such problems are noob flashers who have difficulty following instructions .

No known rom from trusted developers or no stock rom wipes the IMEI. Weird to even think that.

GT-N7105 - EFS Backup + Root + CWM Recovery + Triangle Away

After a few hours of research regarding this model (GT-N7105 LTE) I´ve decide to gather the most important things
EFS/IMEI Backup - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946915 - Yes, it´s the only way, until now, to safely back it up for this model - tested by me
"On Win7 you have to right click the program, go to properties and tick 'run in administrator mode"

If anyone needs i've to disable sms to mms conversion used this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2012770
installed apk and Xposed framework
then installed the Disable SMS to MMS Conversion apk(http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/mi...ion.1/viewfile), enabled it on the xposed apk and works like a charm.
I've tested this methods and it's proven to work. Although read a lot before you flash because flashing something not proper will easily soft brick or even hard brick your device. If you have doubts, put them in the correct place for the effect, or just don´t flash.

Hope this can be helpful

Try re-instaling the program and then making sure the phone is in DIAG Mode. If that doesn´t work try asking lyriquidperfection perhaps he can help you.
I have tried Triangle away and keep getting the error 'cannot find hidden partition are you sure you are running ICS'
seems this came up a bit on the triangle away thread but no solution?
Apart from that thanks for the thread, Rooted, EFS backup and CWM flashed

I could add that information but it seemed pointless because the roms for this device (that I'm aware) are already all together in the same page.

That is strange, are you running stock kernel? sometimes different Kernel messes that up, do make sure the device is rooted. Try asking directly to Chainfire because i´ve run out of ideas.

No service/network after Root + Custom Rom Install - PLEASE HELP ME.

I have an S3 i9305 4g lte version, on orange network uk. I rooted the phone using CWM. Then installed the Panorama ROM, using the guide on here. And yes i have used the search function, followed pretty much every guide there is. Still no solution. Im beginning to think my phone will forever be caught up with this problem
on top of there being no service. The phone itself has started to randomly turn off, and also lags!
I regret rooting lol just wasn't meant to be.
Can anyone help me? Literally, I would be so grateful if someone can actually help me fix this problem. I basically just want my network service back, regardless of unrooting or not.
Thanks a million in advance!

Don't let one unsuitable ROM tarnish your experience Try flashing a different modem.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061
Also, if you're unhappy with the ROM, flash another one. Plenty of good roms out there.

cant find the orange network modem on there? for jb 4.1.2 ?
I'm no modem expert, but search based on your region http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356325
Try different ones to see which one works best for you. Also search those threads for your network/region to see what other people are using.
Does your IMEI match the one under the battery?
Do you have an EFS backup?

i tried to use azira patch but it still didnt help.
have you tried a full sock rom including mg4 or mg2 modem? if that doesnt work you may need service center

ariza patch is for serial no not imei.it does not help withj the new modems and may actually make things worse.
i tried to flash alot of roms so far, nothing helped.
the problem is the the devide was bought outside the country and there are no service center for that device..
