[Q] Touch screen decalibrated. Not hardware issue
Hi everybody! I own a cellphone Sesonn C2000 (mt6582), and like all cheap chinese phones, it has no support at all, so I'm very frustrated with this problem. My problem is that after a failed try to flash a custom recovery for it, using SP flash tools, touch screen didn't respond, and after a while began to respond but touches were very decalibrated. At principle, I thought it was a hardware issue, so I tried all advices about it: knocking gently the screen, putting cell phone into freezer, long pressing power button, and nothing of that worked (and now thinking, lucky me that cell phone didn't break by those actions) At the end, I decided to open it and watch by myself if it was something bad inside, but all was ok at sight. I also could see that the touchscreen's IC, is a goodix gt915. But what convinced me that issue wasn't a hardware issue, was that I tried, to flash another rom, that in another similar phone caused a similar issue, and touches changed their behavior as a I expected. I don't know much about it but i've read, that problem happens by flashing a wrong kernel (kernel inside a recovery or system. img), and by wrong kernel, I mean a kernel with a bad embedded touchscreen configuration. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway! I've tried touch recalibrate app, tscalibration2, htc calibration, touch screen calibration, none of them worked; I've tried many proposed adb batch files to fix that problem, tried to reconfigure tpd_def_calmat file, and nothing. Even I'm exploring an app called gtp adb tool from goodix company, but despite I've translated to english all what exe lets to translate, still left many items on chinese (I used resource hacker, and all that it let me to change, I translated it) and, not being enough all that, there are too much technical items on it, and its manual, oh surprise: It's in chinese! ... Anyway!
Going to the point, I understand that must be a misconfiguration of the touchscreen, so, how must I reconfigure it? or if you see I'm totally lost on my search ¿what can I do to recover my touch screen? beforehand thanks whom can help me.
PS1: Fortunately, more knowing it's a cheap one, this phone has OTG support, so I still can control it, but I miss its touch function so please help me.
PS2: Apologize me any fault on my english. I'm a spanish speaker.

The touchscreen is Fu**ed up! HELP!

Hi guys, I have a Htc Touch Dual.
Now the device has started to doing some strange things:S
- When I slide the phone up, and try to use the touchscreen, nothing happens. It doesn't react at all.
- The TouchFlo "cube" thing pop's up pretty often, without sliding it.
For example, I press "Calender/Contacts/sms/start/ etc" then the cube pop's up out of nowhere.
- Somethimes when I press "start" I get into "Calender". And the same with the right side. When I press the "running prosseses" i get into "Contacts"
I hace re-calibrated the screen several times, soft-reset, hard-reset, flashed it with several different ROM's. But nothing seems to help.
Anyone who knows what this is? Some settings in the registry or something? Or is it the hardware maybe? Please let me know!
Thanks
I would've sent it in to be repaired before flashing different ROMs onto it myself. Sounds like hardware trouble. If I were you I'd flash your original ROM and send it in to be repaired.
sounds like a hardware problem!!!
send it to repair!
I thought so :S
But I don't got my original ROM
Norwegian 16 keys, do someone know where to find it?
And after i have installed it, I just do the "reverse harspl thing"?
Is everything OK after that? Or do the repairers check sometihing else i should fix before delivery?

[Q] Any solution to my accelerometer malfunction?

Hi there!
First time I need to make a topic, as I don't find the answer anywhere..
Had my Touchpad since about two weeks.
However the accelerometer has not functioned at all since I got it.
First thing to check is the auto rotation lock -> it's turned off
Second thing I did was download a sensor visualizer app -> Seismograph.. This shows very weird results for the x-axis (see attached file), fyi, the Y and Z-axis functioned as expected..
Then the third thing I tried, Need For Speed Hot Persuit... A game that uses the X-axis accelerometer (right!?)
This works brilliant!
Other things I have done to troubleshoot this:
Restart the device.
Full reset the device.
Run HP doctor.
All have failed in resolving my problem.
As I've bought the touchpad from a french webstore (fnac.com), HP Netherlands (where I'm from) tells me I need to get back to them for a solution, as they don't offer worldwide repair (unlike ASUS for example).
Fnac.com has not answered to my request to exchange the product (2 days after I got it). And actually I just want to solve it myself if possible, bought it for fun anyways (and reading of course xD)
Any ideas how I can make the OS recognize the accelerometer?
Last thing, the auto rotation functions in the following way: Tablet is stuck in landscape, I turn to portrait, screen turns as well, but within the second the tablet is back in landscape. This behavior can be read from the seismograph screenshot.
Thanks!
Hello
I just started a new thread for a different accelerometer problem (it is just dead)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284760
Was wondering how you ended up fixing your problem.
thanks
Just wanted to ask you the same question...
I still have the same problem. Need to contact Fnac.fr, but my french sucks and my time is scarce. So have been postponing this. My unit actually came DOA.. however Fnac didn't respond to my request, and has now asked me to call them.. sucky service
You have no solution I guess?
Well this is odd..
Out of nothing the auto rotate function is working since today.. I noticed it while reading a PDF in Android. Booting back to WebOS didn't make a difference, the sensor is working again
I've got no clue what did the trick.. I have not updated the kernel or something like that lately.
I wonder if the sensor was kicked back into action by brute force (for instance my cat jumping on the tablet..)
Anyway, problem soved for now =D

Front camera isn't working.

Hey there,
Everytime I try to activate the front camera I either get a 'cannot open camera' error or just a black screen (even though I can change the settings), sometimes I just get a FC after few seconds.
I tried using different camera application and all I get is a black screen, some application allow me to take a picture but the result is just a completely black image.
I don't know what triggered the problem, it was pretty sudden. I was on CM7. Even after a complete wipe and flashing olympus rom, nothing has changed.
I tried cleaning the cache, rebooting, everything I can think of.
Looking for older threads in the forums didn't result any useful information.
Help would be very much appreciated.
bump?
Have you flashed a full blur ROM yet to make sure it isn't a hardware issue?

Lets say I go back to motion blur rom and nothing changes, will it confirm that it is certainly a hardware issue? Thanks for the respond.
I haven't mentioned it but the LED doesn't work too.
Its possible that a cable was knocked loose. If you verify it is a hardware issue, you can void your warranty and take apart your phone to try and fix it following instructions here: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Motorola-Atrix-4G-Teardown/4964/1
I dropped my phone in some water, and the volume up button was acting like it was always being pressed (really annoying when rebooting as it kept kicking into RSD mode). I managed to disassemble it and clean the button, and now it works great again.
Is the only way to verify is to install motion blur rom? If so, is there any recommendation for a specific rom that might give me the most accurate indication that it's a hardware issue?
Thanks for the quick respond.
I would say that as soon as you have tried a ROM with a different kernel, you have verified a hardware issue.
Changed to motion blur based rom, still dead.
I guess it's a hardware issue.
Btw I dont know why I wrote it's the front camera but I meant the back camera so if it's BACK Camera+LED Light and switching roms/format/hardreset didn't help so it's a hardware problem.
I'll try and contact Motorola since I still have warranty.

Not working: capactive buttons at the left and right of hard menu button at bottom

BACK and MENU buttons on my i9100 are no more working. Actually, sometimes they do all of a sudden. I tend to believe that this is not a hardware issue. Otherwise, they should not work at all.
...
I have no reliable repair shops around. None of the technicians in my area gaurantee a proper fix. They want me to let them try their luck and i am dont want any experiments as they were not able to show me any replacement parts. I'd rather install on-screen buttons like original android 4.0. However, i cant find any for latest CM9 nighlies as they are android 4.0.4 yet.
.........
I have tried flashing customer/official ROMS via ODIN/CWM. Nothing works. After Odin flash, they work for some time and then stop all of a sudden.
I have a gut feeling that keys stopped working properly when i left the phone on charging overnight last month. Does that sound sane? if that indeed is the cause, only battery should be fubar. Right? I should replace battery? Battery seems very healthy by the way.
Could someone help me make some progress?
Weather is hot. So i dont think it got any moisture in it.
...
I have tried many obvious steps.
Installing various stock ROMS (2.3.3, 2.3.5), restoring my NANDROID backup (CF root's CWM Manager 4), restoring efs (using kTool), trying custom ROMS without keeping the kernal that was already provided with the ROM, wiping stuff from recovery...... nothing worked so far. I did not try any custom kernals like siyah, NEAK etc.
.....
is there some sort of debugger type utility which would scan key codes for me to see if keys are generating any hardware interrupts? (sorry im using pc terminology).
In other words, i want to see key codes when each of the hard / soft keys are pressed. It will tell me a lot.
For on screen button i think there is a thread about it. A flashable zip(dunno if it supports the latest cm9) to install on cm9 and Paranoidandroid(based on cm9) has an option for that. I know it is not the answer you are looking for but i think it will help for the time being.

I have flashed a zip to CM 9 to enable Android 4 touch keys, like the ones we see on Galaxy Nexus. However, my expedition to fix the capacitive buttons is still 'on'.

touch screen problem

Dear memeber
i have a new problem with my htc legend its sometimes when i need to do something the touch screen give me a wrong selection and other times it not respond ,,, i do a restart for the phone and it back to work .. but i can't keep turn the phone off and re on it if somebody no how to fix this error its will be great and i keep the screen clean from everything i keep clean it but that is not help
Hello,
It happens too with my old ROM (B0.4.8), but didn't find the origin of the problem.
Sometimes it happens with my new ROM (CM9 Beta4) but only when I charge it (when by USB), as soon as I disconnect the cable, the phone is functionnal...
yeah but its not a problem with the room because i didn't do anything for the Os on it .. it just start like this sometimes it respond other times no .. if it work you have to made a selection many time or restart the phone
I experience it too. As I remembered after installing HomICS Venus this problem occur. I do not know whether its ROM related or not. I tried to flash another ROM ex. BlaYO ROM and CRQ 1.3 but the problems still persist.
I had this problem too - sent it to HTC and they exchanged my Legend for a new one ----- as I heared it is a common problem and has to do with the grounding of the touchscreen -> that is why it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt
Sorry to say that I too suffer from this problem. Also, the part of my screen, where the power widget on the notification bar is resting, is completely unresponsive. I need to use the trackball to hit those buttons. And also, sometimes the screen can just go bananas and go into spasmic movements on its own. In my frustration once I hit the screen really hard with my knuckles and that temporarily fixed the spasmic movements. But it still reoccurs. I assume I would need my warranty to replace my phone, but my warranty has already ran out.
I can also confirm that it has NOTHING to do with your ROM. It started for me when I was running CyanogenMod 7.1, but I still have the same problems on stock ROM, HomICS, Miui, basically any ROM.
