android wear and BT headset. - Nexus 6 Accessories

Really, what I want in my android wear device is
1. The time
2. my notifications (incoming calls, sms, email, alarms, etc)
3. Weather
4. a dialer to remotely call with my phone
Most of the other features are useless to me. However I do like Sony's smartband, and it's sleep alarm feature that will gently wake you up as you sleep. Are there any addons for watches that will do this?
I also want a high quality BT headset to pair with my phone.
Having nto paid enough attention to tech these past few years, what should I be getting?

never realized it is so many. I just want one that you can take calls on it and reply to text with voice. I don't care about the other things like your heart rate. But I got that feeling that is like asking for a HDTV without the Smart capabilities.

jaybird bt headphones the best...but i have noticed that the sound is inferior with the nexus 6 vs opo or motoX maybe lack of aptx

[Q] Incoming text messages sent through Bluetooth?

This is a question I've had since owning the G1. Can we make it so that our incoming text messages get pushed through Bluetooth? I know the functionality is not there with the stock messaging app, but does there exist one that does? Or can one be programmed to do so?
This would be helpful to handful of people (like me) that have Microsoft Sync systems in their Ford/Lincoln/Mercury cars. Sync is able to read you your text messages while driving, and allows you to reply with your voice or call the sender, but only if the handset supports sending texts through Bluetooth.
I would imagine that since we have the latest version of BT, it could at least be programmed into a third-party messaging app, by someone with more knowledge than I. The only handsets to support this feature out of the box are some candybar Nokia and Motorola featurephones, so it wouldn't be too far fetched to get Android to support this.
Any thoughts?
This is the only thing i've been able to find that looks anything remotely close to what your asking for...

Hope this helps
I believe I saw on the official Sync website that one of the Android phones was working with the text part of Sync. Posted by a Android user. You might look into that and see if it leads anyplace.

Try out the vlingo app in the market. It has something called Safe reader. It will read your sms out loud. When I'm driving and have my phone hooked up to my stereo, through bluetooth, it plays the message through my speakers. Not sure about standard bluetooth headsets but its worth a shot.
DriveSafe.ly will read your incoming messages to you via BlueTooth, and can be configured to autoreply, if you wish.
I looked through the syncmyride website and several people are reporting the Droid X works with the text messaging part of the Ford Sync system. Maybe there is hope for a direct connection. Although they also talk about Samsung phones in particular having issues with the Sync.
I'm trying to get this working as well. Stock EVO
Thanks for the suggestions of DriveSafe.ly and Vlingo. This is a great alternative, however in my case they would only work if I had the car stereo connected through Bluetooth (the Sync system allows you to do a Bluetooth media stream).
The issue, however, is that most of the time I have either my Zune or my Toshbia media player playing through a USB connection in the car. Say I get a phone call, Sync knows to pause the music in the USB connection, alert me to the phone call, talk on the phone through the car speakers, and then when the call is disconnected it will resume playing the music from the USB. Since the USB is selected and not the Bluetooth stream however, DriveSafe.ly and Vlingo won't automatically notify Sync of the text (it does work if I'm using the Bluetooth streaming option though, since Android is handling the streaming).
After rummaging through some posts, it seems that Syncs ability to communicate with your texts stems from a Bluetooth profile known as MAP (Messaging Access Profile), and while Bluetooth 2.0 and higher support this feature, only some handsets have that Bluetooth profile supported. How hard would it be to add a Bluetooth profile to the Android core through, say, a custom ROM? Or would the Kernel have to be modified?
Looking at the compatibility list it seems that the Motorola phones work with the text messaging system. All ( or most) of them, not just the Android phones. So it may be deeper than ripping the BT control scheme out.
But it would be great if someone could figure it out. I don't think many people care though, if you search here for Ford Sync you don't get many hits.
Blue control
search blue control on the marketplace or appbrain. this app allows sms to be played (and responded to) through a bluetooth headset!
Vibrant reads text out loud stock.
Settings>Voice Input and Output>Text-To-Speech Settings> Check Driving Mode...though..be warned. This will read ALL incoming texts out loud, and when you get a call, it will say Call from (caller or number if it's not in your contacts)
Don't have a BT headset..well I do..just can't find the charger. lol, so can't test it. And I'm not rich enough to have a BT enabled car.
Bumpity bump

In the app description, it says it does not work with in-car bluetooth "at this time". So we can keep our fingers crossed.

I have found, that to get messages read to me and be able to reply, I had to install a custom rom (CyanogenMod 9-20120710-nightly), it works great! I hope this helps.

"OK Google" bug causing alarm to snooze and unable to record video

I'm wondering who else has encountered this and if a fix, other than disabling the always lisening mode, has been found.
I've noticed this on my LG G2, my wifes previous Galaxy S3, her current Galaxy Avant and even on my son's ZTE Maxx. It seems that when the always listening feature and listen from any screen option is enabled for OK Google that the enabled microphone is causing two specific issues.
1) In the camera app it will not record video. You get an error that you cannot record while another device is using the microphone.
2) When the phone is plugged in for charging, any alarm set will automatically snooze and never sound. Similarly the alarm thinks you are in phone call due to the enabled mic and prevents the alarm from sounding to interfere with the call. As soon as you unplug the phone from the charger the alarm sounds again.
I've been able to duplicate this on other brands of phones running Android 4.4.2, 4.4.4 and 5.01.
I'd really love to see a fix for this as the OK Google is pretty awesome to use in the car or work. Nice to just say OK Google, play whaterver music or OKGoogle, send a text to wife without having to hit any buttons or fool with the cars slow and faulty infotainment systems.

Bluetooth earphones, horrible quality for calls and ONLY calls

Hi I've been a Oneplus 7 pro user for half a year now. My phone seems to have 2 separate audio profiles for general media, and calls. For general media the audio quality is great on bluetooth. However when it switches to calls, app calls, wechat video chats and what have you, I get a very muffled audio quality. It's truly atrocious.
I'd say that I have gotten used to it by now, but a few weeks ago I had regular youtube playing, and a friends voice message playing at once. It must've somehow messed wwith the profiles because I was able to hear the voice message crystal clear, through the media audio profile.
This got me thinking that I could probably route call audios as a media output but I cannot figure out how. I tried changing codecs and everything on the developer options but to no avail. They all switch back to the default options as soon as I change them. There also aren't any options I can try on the bluetooth settings.
I'd be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this topic for me. Google search didn't yield anything helpful and this id my last resort. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

apps like "Your Phone"

I am looking for an app for android that behaves like microsoft's Your Phone app, but uses your wifi connection to make phone calls instead of bluetooth.
My goal is to be able to use sms and phone calls from my pc, hearing the ringing in my headset would be a big plus. i have had a lot of negative experiences with bluetooth over the last decade ranging from software on different bluetooth devices seeing each other and refusing to connect to very poor quality (crackling, low bauld rates), having never experienced a good or even fair quality use, I wish to steer clear of it at all costs.
Any suggestions?
Android messages can be used for texts, http://messages.google.com/web. Not sure about something that would work well for calls though.

Forcing calls to go through A2DP in Android, while using the phone's built-in microphone.

Hello,
This issue has been driving me insane. It seems like some simple, artificial limitation that no one seems to circumvent. As the title suggests, I'm trying to force phone calls and especially VoiP calls (Discord, whatsapp..etc), to go through the high bitrate A2DP profile instead of the horrible HSP/HFP profile that butchers audio quality and uses the horrible bluetooth microphone.
For instance when music is streamed through a bot in Discord i have to listen to it in horrible earpiece-level phone call quality.
I feel like there's got to be a tweak, a Magisk module, a custom ROM functionality with root access that allow for this, something.. I found a couple old XDA posts about this but no solutions. Oh and also tried Lesser AudioSwitch on multiple Android versions, none worked.
It seems inherent to all bluetooth headphones which is a shame, they could cost 10k $, but the quality would still be sh*t in calls, both in and out, since mic is not close to the mouth.
I always loved Android for giving users more control, but sadly seems like this is more and more going away. What i want here, can very easily be done on PC.
Thank you for your time reading, really hope someone can help.
