Having the same issue as all the guys above, running CM-based ROM and cannot load recovery correctly.
Copied openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-sirius.img to /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel . After Sony logo, gets stuck with orange LED and black screen.
XZDualRecovery is not supported on custom ROMs, so that is not an option.
This is very frustrating. The below post summarised my current issues as well. It is just not clear enough on how one flashes twrp when running a custom rom.
Can anybody kindly educate us? @Dees_Troy?

Like others, I'm having issues with TWRP + CM11 (or other custom ROM) on an unlocked Z2 Sirius and getting the same as several others - it still reboots to CWM, every time.
I understand the issues discussed, but I can't find one clear post with a "this is how to do it" that works. Things I've tried:
"su" + "dd if=FILE of=/...FOTAKernel" via both adb (root) and terminal. Seemed to work every time. Never rebooted into TWRP. fastboot flash recovery seemed to work but did nothing, and fastboot flash FOTKkernel (needs an uppercase "K") did nothing either.
Apps - Rashr, TWRP manager, and a ton of Xperia recovery apps. None did anything. Some crash out.
Reflashed stock CM11 and wiped the entire internal storage as much as I could be sure was safe, retried the above again, as this was odd. No difference.
Flashed the stock kernel+TWRP which worked, and the dual recovery on stock. It worked with stock, but that doesn't really help with what to do next to get it working on anything except stock.
Is something keeping it locked unchangeable? If not, what can I do to get past this point?
Can someone who has managed to make it work, post a "known working" boot.img for CM11 + TWRP on the Sirius, to help?

i used the twrp official app and instaled 2.8.5.0 from in the app installer but nothing changed, was again on cwm(thats it coz fotakernel?)
twrp 2.8.7.0 on sirius failing to mount partitions?
I have upgraded twrp on sirius from 2.8.5 to 2.8.7. While I was able to enter the recovery (unlike previous 2.8.6 version, which ended up on cm recovery), it seems that no partitions were mounted or recognized. Upon selecting install, I was placed at the root folder, and when trying to mount a partition I found an empty list of partitions. Can anyone confirm this behavior?
In the meantime I am back to 2.8.5.

Pedro

Re: Pamela
Hi Pamela, at first you'll have to change to change into the directory of your sd-card.
e.g. : cd /mnt/path-to-recovery-image
here you can run the cwm installer via:
sh install-recovery.sh

chose wrong recovery file, how to undo?
So I apparently chose the wrong recovery file for my a13, as CWM will not mount the sdcard.. but now I'm stuck in CWM mode.. how do I get out to try installing a different recovery file? everytime I reboot it just goes back into recovery.
Tablet doesn't boot anymore
So I flashed the file cwm6028-a13-10part-v2.zip using the stock recovery.
It said "Installation complete" so I assumed that it worked but it didn't.
First I got it boot to system, then I went to ROM toolbox and clicked "Reboot recovery", and now the tablet only shows only one boot logo and is stuck there as long when the battery drains out or I turn it off.
Recovery boot loop.
The one of the solution of bootloop case is to flash a stock (factory) ROM with LiveSuite soft. In case of custom *.img you can get not fully functional device. (In my case I use custom FaastJB image and then manually setup touch driver that not working).
The second way is to try to fix broken nand driver and change (rewrite) Recovery image for proper one (see some discussion here — //androidtablets.net/threads/solved-coby-kyros-9740-stuck-on-cwm.60076/)
when i use the command '' sh install-recovery.sh'' it says there is no file directed or something
plz help i am ussing a terminal emulator by the way

Hello! Any update ?
Is there any update regarding the black screen?
Need help.
My mobile is bricked and struck with TWRP recovery.
I cannot flash anything and TWRP says
unable to mount /system, /cache, /efs, /data and even storage.
It seems that my partition layout is lost.
I have tried to get /dev/partitions by name and the name refers the same as the mmcblk(s).
I can't even mount /system or /data using adb (commands wont work).
When I flash .pit by delos3guer, ODIN says "SET PARTITION" through hours together constantly.
And now even the drivers are lost for download mode when I connect it to the computer
(CDC composite ...)
I am in great trouble now.
Anyone our there who is best at solving this. Please help me and the others like me who are facing the same problem with flashing .pit files are also being struck like this.
Thank you.

[Q] CM11 + Clockwork, how to?

Hello,
I'm trying to install CM11 on my s5830i, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...cyanogenmod-11-0-androidarmv6-t2805309/page30
If I use ClockworkMod 6.0.1.2 and I try to install latest stable from here http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/cooperve/stable/ as reported in the dev topic, I get an error status 7 and the installation of CM11 is aborted.
Is the Clockworkmod version I'm using wrong? What should I do?
Thank you.
@EveryWay, We did help some fellows with status 7 errors and other problems which was involved MTD compatible CWM ,, just read the last few pages from this open discussion topic . If problem persisted, ask where i direct you ,,, help will be there soon

Thank you for your answer. I've read the last few pages, but I can't see any solution to my problem. If I understand corretcly they talk about CWM v6.0.5.2, but I can't find it for my smartphone. I can see only the version for the Galaxy Y, which is not my smartphone!
Can you link the right Recovery and the right CM11 I have to install, so I don't get that status 7 error, please? As not said, maybe I've found it, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54368918&postcount=308. I'm going to try.
Thanks again.
Now I've succesfully installed CM11, but at the boot I get a black screen. Any idea?
@EveryWay, let me rephrase my comments : Read the first page of the given discussion links regarding the OP statement update about MTD-build update installation., Read last few pages , my comment and "NightRaven49" ignore the rest , and by all means do not flash other device's base band into your device.
Don't have time for a bit of reading , do the following instructions > flash your older temporary CWM (5.0.2.6/8) through your stock recovery , then when you are in CWM environment, simply install the new CWM6+ compatible which supports lasted MTD-CM11 nightly build, flash it and go to advanced menu / select reboot to recovery to be directed into new cwm6+ , do your a data/wipe thing , go to mount options > format /system, at the end flash your new rom through the main menu .

(hlxanthus, sorry for PM'ing you the same post below - just wanted to share it here in case anyone else could answer and so others can find out)
I'm new to custom ROMs.
I'm on a Verizon Galaxy S4 (jfltevzw), rooted on original stock 4.2.2 I545VRUAMDK. I attempted to flash TWRP 2.8.5.0 with the TWRP app this morning but I was stuck with the blue "Loading recovery...." but it seems that this is a bug (as I can see from this thread). Restarting the phone brought me back to normal.
How would I go about flashing the all-in-one TWRP ZIP I quoted above - just flash it with ODIN, or am I missing something?
Thanks
Installing ROM working on 2.8.4.0 but not with 2.8.7.0
I was not able to get Stang5litre rom to boot with TWRP 2.8.7.0. I did a full wipe and even formated my internal and external sd cards. There where no errors during the flash just stayed on samsung s4 screen for an hour when I went to reboot. Flashfly back to 2.8.4.0 and the rom flashed fine. However, 2.8.7.0 has work great with cm 12.1 optimized and 5.1.1 slimlp optimized by the JDCTeam. I am on Verizon SCH-I545 with mdk bootloader with NK1 modem did not like OC1 modem preformance
Recovery
Try reflashing recovery with fast boot. First Download the Samsung driver pack, download twrp recovery 2.8.7.0 or 2.8.4.0, and download fast boot. Then go into download mode on s4 and run the command it shows on the twrp site to flash. This should work.
Will this twrp 2.8.7.0 work on OC1 jfltevzw Sg4 rooted sch i545?

Same Phone Stats and wanting to install Stang5lite rom. was about to update TWRP thru Goo from 2.5.0.2 to the 2.8.4.0 because not sure if current TWRP is not or still compatible with this rom but its asking me to verify that "my Partition listed below is the correct one for my device or risk bricking" before installing the updated TWRP version. The Partition that it is showing me states "/dev/block/mmcblk0p21" without the quotes of course, however I have no clue how to verify this info. Did you get this same message when installing thru Goo? and how did or do you confirm? Also im seeing that there is a newer version 2.8.7.0 has anyone tried this with the Stang rom or anyother 5+ Roms with success? Thanks in advance
