[Request] [Root] Dark Xperia theme with dark menus - Xperia Z3 Themes and Apps

As the title says, I'm looking for a dark theme for my rooted Z3 where the menus (e.g. Settings) are black. All the available designs have white or light coloured backgrounds for system ui

I think you can do that if you have root and use Xposed Framework with Holo Themer.
But im not sure what apps and programs can be themed dark and not on this phone. I have not tried myself with Z3, but it worked on Z2 for messages, mail and settings I mean to remember.
Edit: but it did not work for contacts, the contacts where force closing when pushed...

We could theme whole UI to dark without any problems, all we need is rooted device.
I'm still on Z2, probably won't get Z3 (I'm still deciding) so I don't have much informations about Z3.
First we have to patch services.jar to disable signature check.
Then we could build theme or just modify framework and apps to use dark_theme.
Is there root method for locked bootloader?

I know that. My Z3 is unlocked and rooted, I am looking for a dark theme for a ROOTED device. To make it more clear, I add [Root] to the thread title.

Here you are.
Is it possible to merge this theme with the awesome icons from SamSonya Theme???
This would make it really perfect. SamSonya is discontinued by the developer and is now continued by a russian guy. Perhaps the icons from SamSonya may be used for the Dark L theme.

No,they are at this time in white.
Update is coming

Pink font is gone after the update, thank you for that. In some apps I have white font on white background,, very difficult to read. It would be nice if this could be fixed

I have begin with the black keyboard.
When iam ready,it looks like the old ics keyboard

Is the concept of black menus strictly only possible with Root?
The Z3V does not yet have root, and I'm sad I can't have my dark menus that I have always used going back a long while.

You must have root and the SuperUser Mod

[Q] Is there a dark theme stock?

Not sure i'm crazy about the white theme in the menu/settings. Is there a way to switch to a dark theme on the stock rom? I tried searching through all the menus, it must be hiding in there somewhere?

yes the controls to set the dark theme lies in the phone's physical internal, wait for ifixit to do a teardown and follow it to activate the dark theme after you take apart your phone.

Lol, most confusing post ever...
The answer is no. You'll have to downgrade if you want the black UI.

I wish there was a way for us to make our own themes.
ಠ_ಠ
It's possible to make themes for the Sony theme engine (check out the Z section), but it's not possible to change major UI elements, like the background of Settings, BUT I might be wrong.

How to theme your Tablet!

Hi,
I noticed that there ain't any themes for this tablet so here is an easy way to theme your tablet.
And of course you will need to be rooted to do this.
Also use common sense when messing around the modules. If you end up in boot loops from wrongly setting up the modules then there is always a Xposed disabler zip file in the root of our sdcard that you will have to flash in recovery to remove the bootloops.
First Install Xposed app.
Second Install xTheme Engine.
Here is a collection of xThemes i have collected and uploaded in one place to easier access them.
Fourth if you want to further mod you Tablet then try the modules here.
The Xposed Framework and xTheme Engine works on all roms. The themes will only do basic theming so do not expect to move mountains with it.
Happy Theming
I was wondering if you had any pics of the specific themes. Would help a lot to see which ones would suit my taste.

Sorry i dont have that as i dont use this at the moment.
I got a Note 3 and there are some awesome themes for that but i am ether gonna buy a Note 10.1 or a Note 8 tablet and was browsing the forums to see what roms was available and noticed you guys don't have any themes.
So i just made a post but when i get my tablet i will be posting the screens of the themes i try out.
If you try any of the themes then you could help the community by uploading some screen shots for others to see
Might be an uber noob question, but root needed?

it works fine although not all themes are fully supported. I'm using Royal Elegance and i like it.
Here is the xtheme engine Beta 5 apk in case you can't get it from the OP. Hf

Oh man I can't wait
I just ordered my Note 10.1 4G 2014 and it will be here in a week or so.
Once I receive my Note 10.1 I will try out all the themes and delete those not compatible with this device.
If I get the time I will make as many screen shots of the themes I try out.
Please if you guys can do the same and upload your screen shots of the themes you try then you will help out the community.
Screenshots
I am a bit disappointed or maybe I did something wrong? I tried royal theme and miui sony theme and the only thing that changed was wifi icons and some stuff in the notification are. If anyone knows some full themes that would be great. Screenshots attached, first two are royal elegance and the last one is sony miui. I only took screen shots of what was themed because nothing else changed for me
I would suggest The guy who did True Icon (keygenSVK)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286137) I believe gave up on it at 4.2.2
There is a post later that had this Link hidden...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/k7wttxi31jxl8jv/trueicon1.01-Updated-for-Omega-Roms.zip
There was someone that Ported that specific Theme to 4.3 OMEGA Rom. I've Personally Flashed it but only a few things changed, mainly App Icons. Nothing on status Bar Changed which is what Iooking for.
I've Used Wanam Exposed to change Colors at least.

I'm using the DeNITE! Blue Leather Theme, it adds the right amount of "uniqueness" in the notification panel.

They look stock. I like the leather notification bar, compliments the back of the Note 10.1 nicely (mine is black).

when can we have a theme like criskelo from z1

guys I am really hoping for a theme like the one that is from criskelo at z1 forum, hope someone can help in porting it to here. As there is no theme at all for us, all we have here are not really themes that gives a new look to our phone

Dark Theme for T-Mobile Z3

Doesn't look like the T-Mobile Z3 will get any root support. So is there any dark themes? I am so tired of these white backgrounds...

That's actually incorrect. There are a few themes with black background in the settings on the Play Store. One of which is called "theme eXPERIANZ black Pro Z" By Ven1aone.
And another called "Theme Experiam Black Pro" by FNPROJEC. Neither of them require root.

Not sure. Download them and check. They are the only two black themes I've seen on the Play Store that change the background to black in settings, and use a white font instead of the usual black or dark grey. If you don't like it, you could always refund too.

Ok enjoy
Um...I managed to root on lollipop. Haven't been able to get recovery working though.
Use King root. N then to get rid of King root follow the instructions I found here....
http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html?m=1
I tried the app on play store that replaces King user with no luck. I also tried flashing back to kit kat and got a boot loop.... Dunno why.? but the above method did give me root.

Dark theme for contacts, SMS and settings

I have been using Samsung Galaxy since S1 until S5, hated touchwiz, too iPhony
Replaced all Samsung apps with 3rd party, nicer looking, more features, whatever...
LG launcher does most of what GO launcher EX, without pushing updates and ads all the time, contacts and SMS are poor, but do what I need, only need a dark background, white looks very washed out and uses more battery
I just got my V10 yesterday, didnt have time to test, much, please help me with your experience, thanks :good:
Also, I have been using the same font forever, does anyone know how I can add it to the V10 fonts
Thanks :good:
I was using this app to invert some stuff: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lovejoy777.rroandlayersmanager
In the app, look for Inverted UI. It doesn't invert everything tho.
Also if you unlock the boot loader you could look at the No Name ROM IN the dev. section, it has a Nightshade theme which I think is very thorough. I haven't tried that tho.
Come to think of it, I think Layers required root..
