[KERNEL][D6603/D6653/D6643] AndroPlusKernel v72 [DISCONTINUED] - Xperia Z3 Android Development

I love DooMKernel by DooMLoRD , but he does not have Z3.
So, I started to learn and create custom kernel like DooMKernel.
Please do not ask me to add something, I don't know much about kernel and git right now...
Z3 Dual D6633 need a different kernel.
If you want me to make it, give me your Z3 Dual since I don't want to make kernel not tested on my device...

What is FOTA kernel recovery?
NOTE: this is old info
Xperia doesn't have recovery partition for user,
but we have FOTA kernel partition for OTA.
Since we have to unlock bootloader and OTA won't work on unlocked,
we can re-use useless FOTA kernel as recovery partition using Dees-Troy's "extract_elf_ramdisk".
With FOTA kernel recovery, you can update your recovery without updating kernel.
For example, TeamWin provides TWRP images of FOTA kernel for Z2:
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/232
It's for Z2, but we can use main functions such as backup and install on Z3 and other FHD devices,
but device check by some ROM zip will give you wrong result because .prop in image has info for Z2.
Modified version of TWRP 2.8.1.0 image for D6603 is here.
You can flash images to FOTA kernel by fastboot command like
Code:
fastboot flash recovery fotakernel.img
To enter into FOTA recovery, press power key when LED is on.
How to restore DRM functions?
When you unlock bootloader you will lose X-Reality, noise reduction and so on,
but you can restore them!
Original thread is here, but I updated steps for Z3 and Z3 Compact.
1. Download zip from original thread
* Choose KitKat version (for 4.4) or Lollipop version (for 5.0)
2. Place zip in internal or external storage of your device
3. Reboot into recovery and do Factory Reset
4. Reboot into flashmode and flash FTF with Flashtool
Any FTF is OK, but of cource use FTF for same version you are using now.
Wipe: Check APPSLOG and CACHE
Exclude: Don't check
5. Close Flashtool, unplug and plug your phone and reopen Flashtool, then relock bootloader
Click BLU icon to show relock button and click it.
6. Flash FTF (same as 4.)
7. Close Flashtool, unplug and plug your phone and reopen Flashtool, then unlock bootloader
Click BLU icon to show unlock button and click it.
8. Reboot into fastboot mode and flash my kernel
9. Reboot into recovery and install DRM Restore zip
10. Reboot
11. Done!
After doing this, do not restore old data since it will revert DRM restore.
You can restore system with recovery and use Titanium Backup or something to restore app data.
Note: When you flash new ROM (not kernel), you must flash DRM Restore zip.
If you get "net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" when connecting xda,
please disable PrototypeProtection with Titanium Backup or something similar.

If I had the Xperia Z3 I would create & support my DooMKernel for it...
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app

My suggestion would be to change the top line of your post.
Mainly due to it being a misleading piece of information.
However, great work on creating your kernel, I will be following this.

wait to get it and support this phone.

I feel you are being a little rude to @DooMLoRD.
Have a look at what this guy does for the community, he is a legend.
Sent from my Xperia Z3

I know the work that is offered DooMLoRD. I respect that.
I have another smart phone (old model) and I had support for good offer there.
I write the translation, sorry if it seemed ugly the previous message. write with good mood.

Updated to v2 - now it's almost same as DooMKernel for Z2.
It's not optimised for Z3, but good enough to have those great features

Hi,
Quick question, And apologies most likely a stupid one.
But does this require root?
Kindest Regards

yes

About this kernel level color control, how does it different from the default "white balance" tool provided by Sony? Is it able to control Gamma setting?
Thanks,

Great work! Does this kernel work out of the box with a rooted Z3C? And is D2W supported ? Cheers!

You can change color temperature with Fauxclock.
I think difference is: white balance - change value to higher, kernel level color control - change value to lower

Please test this: v3 for D5803 23.0.A.2.105 (should work even if you are on .93 or .98)
DT2W is officially supported by Sony as you know, so it works normally.
I added 2.89GHz overclocking.

About the rom:
Rom is the same rom like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922029 + updated to the version .54 + with added new feature. New feature is native LBE Security from latest and final MIUI rom version 3.2.22 which mean framework in rom is modified and enabled these MIUI security feature. What is LBE Security? Its extra good feature which giving you perfect control for aplications like: permision manager and aplication startups. Rom is complete which mean all feature is integrated like here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922029
Some aps is moved from system folder to the other place so you have full control to them!
How to install:
Reguirements:
- recovery installed (mine is not reguired, so all recovery is suported)
- unlocked bootloader
Simple place rom to the sdcard, reboot to recovery and install rom using menu "install zip from sdcard. You no need to wipe data...etc because rom will do these thing for you by default! All your personal data will be deleted, so make sure make backup of your private data before you going to install this rom!
Warning:
Do not install SuperSu or Superuser or any other root tool because this rom is designed to work with LBE and will cause a lot of bugs to the aplications and cause system unstability! Allso do not touch su binary, this su binary is designed to work only with LBE ! After initial boot, setup initiall settings, than wait 5 minutes until all aps is installed, than reboot. After boot go to LBE Security and App Control and setup it for your needs!
Do not install memory tweak because these ramdisk will break compatibility with this rom! All tweaks and OC is integrated in this rom!
Do not install other kernels, you will broke compatibility because ramdisk is diferent in curent kernel!
Do not report bugs if you modified curent rom, or you have installed something from another rom!!!
Mising thing, need help for MIUI Anti Spam apk (application for blocking calls and messages)! I allready patched them but getting force closes because unknown firewall service. If you have idea about missing service you can try to get it working. Here is patched AntiSpam.apk -> http://d-h.st/47n

[ZU_GPe][Kernel] Advanced Stock Kernel with Dual Recovery {v03}[20141019]

[ info ]
So here is an Advanced Stock kernel with DUAL Recoveries for the Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition!!
[ note on ZU GPE bootloader ]
so i have done some testing on a users device and here is what i found:
there are signature verification issues if u try and flash a modified OTA zip
even after unlocking bootloader we cant flash custom recovery to internal recovery (FOTAKernel partition)
i have tried:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and
Code:
fastboot flash FOTAKernel recovery.img
it flashes correctly but device still goes to standard recovery
then i tried with rooted device and directly DDed onto the FOTAKernel partition, the device never entered that recovery
so i am guessing tht Sony has blocked access to the FOTAKernel partition for flashing custom recoveries
only option remaining... use the old recovery in boot kernel system...
[ credits / special thanks ]

Awesome! I can't use it myself (Xperia), but it's awesome to have a new kernel for the GPe. Speaking of GPe, you should make that "only for GPe" warning a little bigger and redder. Do not underestimate the stupidity of some people.
It works on 'c6833' GPE. Thanks!

When you say dualbootkernel, true dualboot for multirom support? Or are you referring to something else. I'd love to dualboot my GPe with the GPe SW and Stock SW. I like a lot of Sony's features, specifically the camera and the DLNA support.
On C6833 with GPe ROM, It appears that when the Phil's Rcevery is used to install the ROM, I get an infinite set of reboots whilst it is seting up the ROM for the first time. However, On the dual Dual Recovery, when I use the TWRP, all seems fine. Just thought I make the developers aware. Other functions of Phil's Recovery appear to be functionig really well. Overall, i am happy with the efford and it is about time we give our XZU the treatment it deserves.

Going to give this a try since revolution kernel didn't flash on my GPE device. Here goes nothing.
FYI -- Cyanogenmod ROMs think that the device is a honami (Z1). Flashing CM11 in either Clockword or TWRP errors out with "this package is for c6808, c6806_gpe, togari, togari_gpe devices; this is a honami".
Was pulling my hair out for hours until I found a post by a kind soul who also saw this issue.

Yep, known issue with some of our recoveries, only on the stock ROMs though, comes from using Z1's recovery images in the repacked boot.img.
Now that you have a ZU GPe make sure to NEVER flash a Sony FTF to it

Thanks. Tell it for the unlocked bootloader or locked?
It is possible the installation instruction more detailed?
Good work  @blueether will download in about 12hrs time (free work wifi ftw)
Besides user testing I'll also see if I can help with known bugs (read, unzip see if I can fix and rebuild in kitchen)
Again, thx and congrats again on your contribution
Btw.. I've sorted out deodexing and xposed (incl. Setting apk.. and are you using the modified xperia xposed framework?) will be in touch after testing.

Only UL bootloader can install the 290 kernel with RW fix and a recovery to flash from, so by default all rooted/cwm recovery 290 roms are UL until a LB full root solution is found.
@blueether Maybe some xposed hints here - > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589113
My recommended instructions for install are:
(unlock bootloader if locked lol )
Flash full 290 ftf of choice via pcc
Fastboot flash boot @ChillyChan dual-recovery.img kernel
Boot into twrp/cwm recovery and flash BE rom
Flash superuser186 zip (just to be safe)
Clear dalvik/cache
Reboot and enjoy (meaning test for @blueether)
Install busybox via play store after first boot

As I said I had to go out while writing the OP so I'll update it.
Root should work and the latest busybox is included in the rom
Thanks for the comments so, mostly looking for testers etc first - not someone that is doing their first rom flash
@Feodorus 4PDA I can re-include the FM - this is the fort of thig that is good to know
@iBuzman that xposed link looks the ticket
Oh just finish installation process without any error
First setup screen bit different than stock one
there are Sony Entertainment Network Log in / Sign up screen
(Stock rom does not show this page)
Continue testing
(I feel smoother scrolling in my home screen than stock rom)
OOPs
My model change to C6802 and
In mobile network setting I lose my LTE Mode

I remembered that last night that it is from c6802 .
I blame @hamdogg for the smother scrolling as it was his build.prop tweaks that I have included
"Sony Entertainment Network Log" haven't looked for that yet to remove it

I'm off to the beach today with the kids but will work on doggROM layer tonight. Hopefully!

Btw.. I like the Sony Entertainment Network app being included - without this I couldn't use music unlimited and a few other sony apps

That's me!... unfortunately I don't get an orange vest like our real dogs... I'm in the OP's room today.
unfortunately its about to be called off. Police taking over so thats not a good sign for the missing guy. No longer a rescue, now a recovery.
I'll flash BE and see how it goes... be a couple hours until i finish up here..
that crashes here as well
I wonder if it somethig in build.prop? the last build before those changes was more stable...
/me goes off to learn how to use USB debugging...
I don't think build prop; did it deodex properly in the kitchen? My guess is something to do with a faulty apk after deodexing - kitchen doesn't officially support 4.3 and api change to 18 may only be "cosmetic". Maybe @hamdogg can deodex setting.apk properly via linux? (I only have cygwin and 4.2.2 support on my win8 pc)

Quickest Way to install ROM if not on .290
bigxie said:
The best and fastest course of action, if you're unlocked, is to do the following:
1. Use flashtool to FTF to .290, uncheck wipe data & cache, check exclude system + kernel (this literally saves like 10 minutes)
2. Reboot into the bootloader and flash CM boot.img or GPe advanced recovery
3. Reboot and enter recovery by holding volume down when the LED turns purple
4. Flash the ROM, do a factory reset
5. Reboot

FAQ
Q: How can I get the launcher from the Nexus 5 that has Google Now on the leftmost pane on this ROM?
A: Install the Google Now Launcher from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher
Q: Does Apt-X work on the GPe ROM?
A: No, it looks like Sony did not bake Apt-X support into the GPe ROM. Perhaps they will add it to a future update (much like HTC later added IR support to the One GPe)
The following issues are both addressed in the tweaked version of GPe ROM available in OP
Q: I lost my recovery, how do I get it back?
A: This ROM contains the stock GPe kernel, which does not include recovery. If you need it, you can flash DooMLoRD's GPe recovery with dual recovery found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579005
Q: I can't write to my external SD card. Is this a bug?
A: No, this is the behavior Google intended. If you want to bypass it, refer to the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574730

That's interesting, I always wanted to increase the vibration intensity since I own this phone!!
I'm really considering the option of unlock the phone now
If I'm not wrong it's possible only with your kernel, since with stock rom there's no such "vtg_level" file right?

This kernel is built from sources 23.1.A.0.690 and 23.1.A.0.726 (we do not have the sources of the current firmware)
and ramdisk is firmware 23.2.A.1.62
ramdisk can be the problem since they have some differences on camera
I suggest using a newer firmware ex .62

Firmware: 23.2.A.1.62 is just a carrier update of T-Mobile and Vodafone (also a million times said in Z2 forum) and not newer then .28 !! So nonsense who said .62 is newer then .28 well atleast newer bloatware in that case

Rom .28 and .62 were never quite the same, I found myself some differences on the camera (kernel and ramdisk must work together)
What I meant was that as I am using ramdisk .62 is indicated using a fw .62 to avoid these problems that were cited
.62 firmware is not only a carrier update T Mobile! The I am using is of .62 firmware from Claro Brazil!
Check xperifirm for yourself and see .62 in several other carriers not bloatware
An application present in .278 and .62 which are not found in other versions
If you still want, I can build a kernel with ramdisk .28!
I just want to make it clear that this has happened to me once I was with FW .726 to .278 ramdisk.
