[Q] [Miia Tablet 7"] Blocked on Android screen - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
can I help me with my 7-inch tablet Miia.
The tablet starts at power, but remaining Blocked on Android screen and does not proceed further. I tried to go into recovery to perform a hard reset, but once you're with the volume buttons do not allow me to make no choice and no other key permits. I checked the inside of the tablet and everything seems ok, the welds of the keys are fine.
I read about flash rom etc etc, but on the net I find only a lot of info and no solution optimal.
Trying then I found your forum and I see it very reliable, so I decided to enter in your community.
I would like to know if there is a way to restore the tablet from PC ... also wanting ... or with the rom or another ...
Thanks first to who will read my question and who decides to help me out .
Sorry for my english.
Bye !!!!

[Q] A13 factory reset from external SD (auto script or somehow)

Hello everyone, I need serious help, I have Chinese A13 7'gps tablet
7-inch-GPS-navigation-Wifi-DVR-AV-IN-FM-8GB-512MB Android4.0.4ICS - from Aliexpress - sorry but can't leave external links yet as I'm new to this forum,
I am pretty novice to Android. The tablet works great, but I need to learn the way to restore the system without loosing everything. I've learned how to flash ROM from memory card, I've got the ROM from seller, but they don't know how to help me further. Main problem is - it can't go into recovery as it doesn't have volume buttons and I can't find right CWM for it with touch support. Anyway, it wouldn't help much because the problem occur when android won't boot at all, just hangs without continuing to boot screen (not by itself - it sometimes happens when I test new CWM for an example) and I can't find a way to reset it. The stage where it hangs does not allow it to be recognized as connected if I plug it to PC, so I can't use "Uberizer" which is great for almost everything. The only way I assume, would be from memory card (like with ROM flashing) but without formatting so I can keep my SD data. Is there a script or something, to do that on my device?
Thanks in advance -I hope someone will have time to answer
All the best

[Q] getting into recovery, touchscreen (d2pad, rk2829)

Well, I have a d2pad SN 201301 on the back so its somewhat new
It uses rk2829 rockchip.
Anyways Ive been trying to get recovery on it for the past couple hours to use a new rom, finally got recovery working, did everything installed my rom, and let it restart.
Well, The rom isnt compatible, there was a later version a few pages into the thread that might have been, but the one I got wasnt.
So now I'm stuck, at the intro d2 logo
I only have 1 button and it is power.
Ive tried to get adb working, because it at least says its connected, but with no success anyone have any ideas?

Hey, I realize that it's been a couple years since you posted this question. I never saw any responses. So how did it all end?
Also, there was one critical piece of information you failed to share with the XDA community...you said you worked on getting into recovery with a device that only had a power button and no volume buttons. May I ask how on earth you managed to get into recovery using only a power button? Reason I ask is that I am now facing this situation. NTech Alexis RX3HD8 tablet, rockchip RK2928 processor, power button and no volume buttons! I need to get into recovery but I cannot turn on USB debugging (and the tablet is pattern locked but the pattern was entered too many times....so I am locked out).
At this point, if I cannot enter recovery mode, the tablet is a permanently soft-bricked which is, for all intents and purposes, the same as a hard-brick.
I think what happened for me was, wanted to install new rom, got into recovery to install it, then it bricked my tab, after that I was at the logo
in my case i fixed everything by getting a rkflasher, to reinstall it, and contacting support for the factory image, which is lucky they new something about it, some companies abandon support, or dont know enoguh about what they sell, lol
as for your situation
these are the things i'd try
1. If it has google play, and is connected wifi even if its locked you can try this page
https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
and then pick ur device and factory reset it is an option (although ive never tried it)
2. search around on the internet for 1 button recovery methods, I've seen quite a few weird tablets, and some I can think of with 1 button recovery
A. a pin hole thats not the reset button or the mic, was an actual button, and that was used to get into recovery with a safety pin, and doing the normal holding it while powering on method
B.. holding the power button, and instead of letting go when u see a logo, keep holding it, till it shuts off again, then power it on
C. plug it in to pc via usb, and turn it on, while its booting, see if ur pc recognizes it at any point during the startup and try to run some commands, ive had a brand of tabs, that give u adb access during boot, but then remove it after finished booting
4. their website is in spanish, and they dont have firmware/manual links available for your tablet
You could contact support for recovery instructions or reflash instructions,, and hope they speak english or you speak Spanish
Most of the time with 1 button tablets, if theirs no info of similar ones online, unless you can contact support, you might be out of luck
PS, my edit:
also, I saw ur post on the youtube video while looking up stuff about this tablet, if that guy can get you a firmware, you have another option of trying to get to download mode too
my tablet, with rk2928 uses these instructions to get it to show up in the RKBatchTool.
https://www.d2pad.info/docs/OSFirmwareInstallInstruction_D2-721.pdf
maybe they can help you get into download mode on urs
all of this being said, I hope my first suggestion will work, IDK if wifi is disabled during pattern lock, or if u can factory reset any tablet, I just know I always see that option when I'm using it to find my devices ect.

Without ADB a soft-brick can become permanent state!

Hey thanks for getting back to me. You've been extremely helpful and your response may hopefully be found in future by others who have the same problem.
Here's how it's working out for me with this device:
1. It has Google Play but unfortunately the wifi is turned off and there's no way to connect. But in any event, the little kid whose tablet it is (I'm working on the tablet at the request of her father who is my friend), she doesn't remember the Gmail account name or password.
2. I've searched the entire Internet (LOL) including Spanish and Chinese websites/videos but no luck. I can't find anything about putting this badboy into recovery. The reset button is just for show...it only turns the tablet off in case the power button is unresponsive.
3. I've been to the website of "manufacturer". It's a Portuguese company (I speak the language) but they haven't responded to any contact requests. And they appear to offer the firmware for the devices but download link is dead. So I cannot even get the firmware to flash it. The dude on YouTube has not sent me any link to firmware.
But the bigger problem and the key to the issue is that I cannot get the tablet to be recognized by the computer no matter what I've tried. I've tried all kinds of combinations of power button play but I never get that satisfying BEEP that indicates that there is a connection open. You see, I have the drivers for the tablet but there is no way to install them without the tablet giving the opening (even if it would come back as Unknown Device). So, I'm crap out of luck with this soft-brick.
Again, thanks for your help. After 3 days and probably 15 hours spent trying to reset this thing, I'm going to have to throw in the towel. Important lessons learned:
#1. NEVER PURCHASE AN ANDROID DEVICE THAT HAS NO VOLUME KEYS (or without knowing how to get into recovery). You're only asking for trouble if anything should go wrong. And believe me, this is the THIRD TIME I've seen a device that cannot go into recovery. In one case, I was able to flash new firmware directly on bootup off the external SD card (it was an Android laptop with WM8505 chip). I guess one out of three ain't bad odds...but they are not the kind of odds you want with expensive devices.
#2. ALWAYS TURN ON USB DEBUGGING WITH ANY ANDROID DEVICE YOU OWN AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME. One day, it may end up being the savior of the life of that device because it usually means you can access the device via ADB in case of a soft-brick. LOL.

At last, did we find at last how to enter in recovery mode if there is only one button (power). I am in the same situation with @CVAngelo .Is it possible not to exist recovery mode at all? My tablet is BENEVE R708G with Rockchip RK2928. I tried every combination with power button and reset button but no luck at all.I have boot loop after trying to change the bootanimation. The weird thing is that the new boot animation ''works'' but after that it goes on boot loop forever.

[Q] GoCleve TAB R75 too many pattern attemps

There are some threads about it, but I can't really understand them or they don't work, I have searched everywhere possible on the internet.
My relative has a GoClever Tab R75 and he put in too many patterns attempts so now it only says that you can log in with a google account, but he doesn't have one linked with the tablet itself.
Things I have tried, all of the possible combinations, I only have a power/reset/motherboard button to work with.
Reset button only shutdown's the tablet.
I got into an active mode with the motherboard + power button few times, but it gave me an android man with a red triangle.
Same goes for some rooted R75 link going around the forum, which I booted from the SD card.
There must be another way to fix this, it's not possible there isn't a solution in 2014, somebody probably knows, I hope they see this.
They somehow do it in repair shops.

Tf201 Help me please.

Hi,
I recently unlocked and rooted my device. Asus Transformer Prime (TF201).
I tried to boot it into recovery, wouldn't boot the rom, kept freezing, hard reset it. Then it booted into the official android version, I was running 4.1.1, build # 10.4.2.18
Then I went into recovery, and I was like "oh yeah, I remember reading that it has to be a fresh install, that way there's no incompatibility". So I decided to press the down button until I got to erase everything in the menu, I did it. Erased it, device reset itself, and now it's stuck in the main loading screen, where it says Asus, this device is unlocked in the top left, and the nvidia symbol in the bottom right. The device wont boot into anything, not even recovery settings. Is there a fix? Or did I just make my tablet a paper weight?
I tried searching the web, I found all these articles, and frankly I'm very overwhelmed, and didn't know what to do or which one to read. I just got the tablet as a Valentines Day gift from my wife, and I would have to have ruined it. Please help me.
EDIT: I got my device to appear as "APX" in devices and printers, it's an unknown device. But I'm still lost.

There is only hope, if you can manage to get into bootloader screen by pressing power + vol down.
APX mode would only help you, if you had pulled your nvflash files.

Hi, u can follow the steps listed in this blog. I just installed CM11 using the same steps over the weekend. U need to perform a factory reset and wipe the cache after u installed the ROM using the CWM recovery. If not, it will be struck in the boot screen with the arrow going in circle. Below is the blog address:

Hi,
I've same problem!
I tried to flash to android 5.0. I tried many things via twrp and now, thats it:
My TF201 stucks also at bootscreen and the recovery menu (Power on + Vol.Down) won't work. That means I'm not able to get in fastboot mode or something like that. The only possiblity to switch the device off at the moment is to unplug the battery
I've searched for a solution in many boards, but unitl now i haven't found anything.
At the moment it seems that the only possibility we have, is to change mainboard, or to try to connect via an external programmer (for flashing the memory), but that would be for sure not the easiest way, or it could be also nearly impossible.
So at the moment I'm praying to god, that someone will have another solution and will post it here, because otherwise I can cast away my loved transformer prime :crying:
Looking forward to hear any news about that topic :fingers-crossed:

You say this "My TF201 stucks also at bootscreen and the recovery menu". Does that mean you can still access recovery (TWRP)?

No, thats the problem, since yesterday it is not possible, because I tried to flash back to an older version of TWRP, and since that I can't access RCK and then I tried to wipe data, and since that, I even can't access to recovery console (Power on + Vol.Down).
That means I can't do anything at the moment, I see only the asus boot logo and that's it.
So I have no idea to communicate with the tablet at the moment.
The problem was, that I was not really careful, because my opinion was, that it's impossible to brick the whole tablet, but now it's gone!
Is that the end of the story, or do you know therefore a solution?
Regards,
Jim
Seems that you are in APX mode. Hope you have your blob + nvflash and wheelie to restore the bricksafe.img. (It saved my TF when i was in your position)
Good luck

Unfortunately unless you have nvflash backups then you will have to get the board replaced. Forget contacting Asus as they would charge you more than the tablet is worth. Try and find one with a smashed screen on ebay etc cheap that still works that you can swap the board out from.

noob guide for flashing?

hey guys,
i'm having hard time to find out how exactly to flash my old oem tablet and i really dont expect anyone here to search anything about it(i do that...), just to guide me in general please.
i just found this old tablet and thought i could try to use it as a touchscreen-mp3 player connected to my amplifier...
i charged it and powered it but stuck on "android" logo, i tried many key combinations to put it to recovery mode but i just couldnt find it i guess.
then i started searching of how to flash it...
what is visible from outside is "f&u ETB7405" which brings almost nothing(it's just an oem model) so i opened to see inside where i can see one chip "allwinner a13" and "tzx-q8 713B 6".
it has 7" screen.
based on these i finally found a fimware (using PhoenixCard) that boots normally BUT i get no touchscreen or wifi working. i can connect a usb mouse and have access to it.
do i also have to flash any extra firmware/driver for just the touchscreen or wifi?
what is the most important characteristic("A13" or "TZX-Q8...") to concentrate my search for?
why is it so fcn difficult to find a working firmware???
in case anyone else is having the same issues and hopelessly tries to find the firmware for his device and bumps in unanswered posts or dead links, guys just try different "A13" firmware! Although i'm not really sure that it even has to be "A13"!
i was trying to find firmware with the most of my specs on its name like f.e. "A13-TZX-Q8-713B6" but the paradox happened. the most similar firmware names were not good and i tried a lot! instead i finally decided to just search for "A13" firmware and try any of them one by one despite the names. that was it! i have already found a couple!
from here: ww.androidtablets.net/threads/firmware-based-on-allwinner-a13-roms.72449
a13-TJ P860-V7.1-gsl1680-MID-756-V4.2-20130823-test-keys.zip
all works but there is only "english" and "thai" in keyboard languages.
A13_TWD_MID-gslX680-800X480_20130423 test-keys.rar
all works but touch screen "mirrored" sideways!
good luck to you guys!
thanks
