Does it say which app it's trying to back up when it hangs on 2%? I've found that some apps don't play well with TiBu, especially when I'm trying to restore the app. Maybe you can exclude that app from the backup run.

I dnt know about the backing up issue but I can tell you when restoring apps and your having problems and ill asume its when restoring app/data cuz thats what I had problems with. When I try to restore both it hangs. If you just reinstall the app for playstore or the apk from wherever you got it from then use tb to restore just data ...That works everytime.
Maybe for backing apps and data up maybe do one at a time. It may take longer but youll get them backed.

[Q] About Google Backup

Hi, I used to use (lol) Titanium backup for backing up
my applications with their data (for example, asphalt 6 with all
of my progress). But a friend told me that when i backup with DATA,
it causes bugs of Force close when you restore, and it asks for your permission to install, and its annoying with 200 apps...
So I searched on Google a bit, and saw that Google has application
data backup, automatically! But im still not sure, will it backup all of my data?
All of the games data (progress), launchers and so on? will it restore
the data right after reinstall?
If not, I'll be glad if someone can advice me about any other good backup program..
Thanks, and sorry for my bad English...
As far as I know google app backup just redownloads your apps (no data).
And why did you "lol" at Titanium backup, it is still by far the best way to back stuff up. If you get the payed pro version then you don't have to click install for all 200 apps. And as long as you don't restore conflicting system data you should be fine.
I lol cause I said used to use (Idk why, it makes my laugh xD)
and about the Google Backup, the automatic restore says:
When re installing an application, backed up settings and data will be restored.
And what restore should I use with titanium backup?
Any help? I just wanna switch roms!
Everything Smasher said. TB has only caused force closes on about 2 of my 183 apps, but I fixed those issues with ease. I don't know too much about Google backing up data because I thought they only restored the app only.
EDIT: Maybe you should Nandroid backup your current rom then try the Google way and let us all know how it works out. If it doesn't restore app data then go back tou your current rom and take the Titanium way.

problems

I just flashed euphoria rc1 comming from stock JFD, and I am having problems with some gmail account from my own domain with gapps and also with whats app. Today I opened the XDA app, wich I always restore the same way with titanium backup and I have a problems singing in and it ask me to re enter my username and pass.
I think the are all related, whatapps is the one that gives me the most helpfull indication. It says conection failure, if you have whatapp installed on another phone, please delete it and then reinstall etc etc, something like that.
what can I do?
Hey groggycl,
I noticed my titanium backups caused issues with a lot of apps (including XDA) when backed up 2.x and restored to ICS 4.x. My first recommendation is to reinstall the rom and try again, but if you continue to have issues, restore all apps manually from the market, and then selectively restore data through titanium backup to each app one at a time, then test the app. This helped me narrow down which apps were ok with restoring the data, and which apps ceased to work.
Hope this helps.

I suggest doing this first before restoring the ROM altogether. It has worked for me too. Also the XDA has had 2 updates in 24 hours that both have required a re-log-in.

Great point! For me, I usually restore the rom first just because it's faster than going through each of my apps one by one, but it really comes down to how many apps you have/what works best for you.
Great tip on the XDA app as well!
The back up was made on passion rc1... and I went through every passion release doing the same procedure so I don't expect this to be a back up problem, but anyways, I am going to try it and tell you if it worked out or not..
thanks averyone!

Get ready for ICS update and not lose any user data

Im concerned about the upcoming update: Im using MIUI rom and i will swap to MIUI v4 (iCS) as soon as it comes out... but im tired of losing my user data between every rom swap...
I know Titanium Backup should be the way to do this... so, is it safe to backup all the apps and the apps' data and then restore it on ICS? even when the backup was made in a GB rom?
Any alternative way of doing so? What do you usually do / recommend to do?
Thanks!
You can back up and restore the apps no problem, though I would be careful restoring user data. What I do is restore all apps and use sms backup/restore for my texts and Google takes care of my contacts.

Well, I don't really think it should matter if the backup was done in GB and restored in ICS. One thing could happen, is that you may have been using an application that isn't yet compatible with ICS. Other than that, I don't really see why there should be a problem.
Have a good day.
The biggest problem is for the apps settings and games progress and so... with titanium backup, i should backup user apps + data and then restore it in ICS?

To be a 100% sure put the TB folder on your pc and on an external card.
I tried restoring TiBu apps backed up on GB when I flashed an LPQ ROM and TiBu hanged on some of the restores. I had to restart each time it hung on a restore. I tried using batch restore, and restoring individually, both ways it happened on different apps and the same app. It was weird because my SMS logs restored no problem but some of my apps could not. Luckily I had a Nandroid backup so I quickly went back to my daily driver.
Titanium backup likes a phone reboot after first install .
Install open reboot phone less likely to freeze or hang on backup .
jje
i also had over 200 applications, out of which some randomly failed to install on CM9. After failure of restore, i again have to start restoring process in titanium backup from start leaving that applicatoin. Luckily, I dint find any problem in restoring to PURE ICS rom, it just resotred everything like a charm. Some applicatoin (like smartstats) were crashing after restore. I just wiped the data () and then it worked.

Titanium Restore Market Issues

I searched and maybe I didn't use the right search terms. I did a full backup with Titanium and with Rom Toolkit before upgraded from Beans B6 to B9. In the past I've always download the app and then restored individual data from Titanium. I've read recently that many people just restore both with Titanium so I thought I would give it a try. When I restore with Titanium some apps like Alchemy and My Movies Pro give me licensing errors and will not even open. The only way to resolve the issue isI have to uninstall the app using the application manager then redownload the app and restore app data. Any thoughts on if I am doing something wrong?

Oh skip this question, I just realized that under restore preferences I had always associate to chose enabled instead of disabled use the selected backup account.

System uid inconsistent

Has anyone ever had this issue with the S5? I downloaded an update for Facebook yesterday that I can swear was a virus. That update wanted to take over my phone. I was on the latest firmware installed via mobile odin. I had Link2SD, XSPOSE, XPRIVACY, Titanium Backup, XStorage, and BusyBox installed. I don't know what happened. Facebook kept telling me that I needed more storage to operate it. Can anyone help with this issue?
Did you restore from a backup right before this happened? Or rather, did you use Titanium Backup to restore your apps right before this happened?

This sometimes happens to me when I install a new rom and then use titanium to restore all my apps. I have pro, so I have the ability to change the id to what my previous id was. If you don't have pro, I'm pretty sure that you can't restore it. If I were you, I'd donate. It's a great app that I use daily.
Good luck.
