I have downloaded it and it works well.
However, i had to manually change both of the values under 'headset' in the 'mixer_paths.xml' file . I changed both values from 84 (that the High boost mod did apply) to 85 to get even higher volume boost. I think you can go up to 87 without getting the sound to crack. Over that the sound will start to crack.
With 85 there, the sound is still completely clear and it doesn't crack or anything like that. So i would recommend you to set both values there from 84 to 85 on your next version of the app. You are still safe with that.
For the 'Mild boost mod', the values are only 79. Here i would set it to either 81 or 82 on both values.
The rest of the values that are changed are all perfect for now.

Which files does this modify?
After installing this, I can't hear anyone on a call (nor can they hear me).
Thank you!

I do have the same problem actually, but i don't have this issue on all i get calls from or from those i'm calling. So i'm trying to put back on the original 'mixer_paths.xml' file to see if it's any different.
EDIT: The sound mod breaks the call sound for someone. After i took back the 'mixer_paths.xml' file i took backup of before i installed the mod, the call sound works like it should when i call one i know i couldn't hear earlier today after i installed the mod.
The strange thing is that i believe this has something to do with HD Voice as both me and my friend here uses that. I could call everyone else without the HD Voice enabled.
EDIT 2: I took the original file on my phone and uploaded it to my computer and went into the file on my computer (via Wordpad) and went to the 'headset' place where i could change the 2 values. Now i just changed the normal values there from 77 to 85 and saved it. That was the only values i changed. After that i copied the file over to my external SD card and took a backup of the original 'mixer_paths.xml' file and copied the modified file of the original file on my external SD card to 'System/etc'.
Now i rebooted the phone and took a new call to my friend and the call is working perfect, even with HD Voice enabled.

Would this work for galaxy note 4?
Awesome improvement in audio btw... I used it on my previous phone nexus 4. I have snapdragon N910W8.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F).
So if you can use my 'mixer_paths.xml' file, then you can find it here. This is the original unmodified file from my phone.

I'm using a SM-N910W8 (Canadian) model

Mine modified headset value from 77 to 84. Absolutely working fine.

dr.ketan, what kind of string / line is it that changes the volume of the Bluetooth output?
I'm asking as i want to change that manually in the 'mixer_paths.xml' file on my phone and because i'm helping one of my friends with a Galaxy Note 3 to increase the Bluetooh output volume to.

Should i adjust both of those things (3 values under each of those) from 84 to my desired value?

I have tested and it works, the sound become a little bit tremble.
For the bass, i think yes, because my headphone sound broken when I set the bass to highest.
Shouldn't be any problem if you didn't set it to highest, if u noticed some broken sound , then set the equalizer to lower bass setting

Simple Fix For APN Setting
Apns detect is fixed in 3rd Edition, but if it doesnt work for you, follow this guide
**For those who have problem with 3G internet.
You can contact your provider and call them sent apn to you (like mine, I just go to their website and type my phone number, then a setting will be sent to me within 5 minutes)
But if your provider don't has this service, here comes a simple fix for you: type in your apn manually.
**Follow my steps.
First, download the apns list and extract it, open the apns-conf.xml by Notepad++
Second, press (CTRL+F) and type your provider's name in the field there, then search !
In my case I search for 'digi'
There may be some similar one but I think u can find the most appropriate one with ur smart brain and sharp eyes
If you don't , try google for that !
Once you found your provider apn setting.
Go to your phone. Open 'Settings' > 'Wireless and networks' > 'Mobile networks' > 'Access Point Names'
It's blank right? Dont worry
Press menu key and you will see this :
Select 'New APN' , then type in your APN setting to here :
Save it and fu** yeah , 3g is now working:

Hello,
The phone still shuts itself down at least once a day. Try wiping data and rebooting. No improvement. My wife asked me to put the old rom back. Tried that using odin. But this rom is really robust and refuses to retire. Any instructions how. Thank you.

I just installed it using the Aroma installer. I chose Universal>Universal>Skip>Noozxoid. I'm using it in conjunction with Beats rather than in lieu of it. My Klipsch Image ONE Premiums have never sounded better. I HIGHLY recommend this installation for anyone. The work these folks have done is incredible.
*Note* the final window says you should not have any other DSP or equalizer installed. I had DSP Manager v2 installed and I let it install anyway. There were some conflicts and AC!D actually FC'd. I had to turn off all DSP Manager's options and disable it. I then rebooted and no issues afterwards.
****NOTE**** I take no credit for the original work. This is simply a port to the DNA. The original thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367
Folks, install this now. Seriously.
12/27/12 UPDATE: Tonight I mistakenly found out why the installer says not to have any other DSP's installed and why when you go into Settings\Sound\Music effects it FC's. If you did the Aroma installer and followed my installation and look in your applications, you have a new icon called Noozxoide EIZO-rewire. This is their Jelly Bean DSP manager suggested in the installer. If you click Build-In Audio Monitor (supposed to be built, but they're German, so give them a break), you can FULLY manipulate your sound to your liking. I'm enjoying my headphones even more with these tweaks and I'm sure you will too!!! See new screenshots below.
12/28/12 Disregard. See instructions below.
12/29/12 UPDATE: Looking at the original AC!D post, I noticed that my installation was incomplete. Steps 9 and 10 involve a build.prop edit. I've successfully done it and I want you all to hear what I am.
******WARNING***** Follow these steps EXACTLY. If you do not, you could make your phone unbootable. I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone. With that said, let's get to it:
1) First, you need to be on any version of TWRP recovery and have adb installed.
2) We're going to make a backup of your original build.prop first. Put your phone in recovery and plug it into your PC. In TWRP select Mount and mount System. Go into a DOS prompt and type:
Code:
adb pull /system/build.prop C:\
3) Right click on build.prop and select copy. Paste right there in the root You should now have two files on your root like the fourth screenshot. Right click on build.prop and open with Notepad. Scroll to the bottom of the file and hit enter. On the new line, paste the following code:
Code:
###AC!D Sound Tweaks by R-ikfoot###
#Sony Xloud & Clearbass +
ro.semc.sound_effects_enabled=true
ro.semc.xloud.supported=true
persist.service.xloud.enable=1
ro.semc.enhance.supported=true
persist.service.enhance.enable=1
ro.semc.clearaudio.supported=true
persist.service.clearaudio.enable=1
ro.somc.dmnorm.supported=true
persist.service.dmnorm.enable=1
ro.sony.walkman.logger=1
ro.somc.clearphase.supported=true
persist.service.clearphase.enable=1
#Resampling
af.resampler.quality=255
persist.af.resampler.quality=255
#Beats Engine
htc.audio.swalt.enable=1
htc.audio.swalt.mingain=14512
(See the fifth screenshot.) Close Notepad saving your changes.
4) Now send the edited build.prop back to your phone. Go back into your DOS prompt and type:
Code:
adb push C:\build.prop /system/build.prop
4) ***If you don't this, your phone is unbootable*** Go back into TWRP and use the File Manager to navigate to the system folder and find build.prop (scroll all the way to the bottom.) Click it and press the Chmod 755 button. Swipe to confirm. Make sure you get a "Successful!" at the top. Go back to main menu of TWRP and reboot system.
5) Profit! (If you have an app like Root Explorer, you should see the build.prop looking like the sixth screenshot.)
12/29/12 SECOND UPDATE: If you use either one of DSB's kernels that enable system write, you can use several apps that allow you edit the build.prop while booted into Android. The confirmed list, so far, is
ES File Explorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
Build Prop Editor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor&hl=en
Root Explorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer
Directions for the Explorer apps:
1) Navigate to the system folder and mount it as Read/Write capable.
2) Make a backup copy of the build,prop
3) Navigate to this thread with your phone's browser and copy and paste the code from step 3 above at the end of the file. Save your changes and exit the app.
4) Do a full reboot and profit.
Directions for Build Prop Editor:
1) Fire up the app and hit the menu button. Select Backups and create a backup.
2) Go back into the menu and select edit...
2) Navigate to this thread with your phone's browser and copy and paste the code from step 3 above at the end of the file. Save your changes and exit the app.
3) Do a full reboot and profit.
1/3/13- There's a new build of Noozxoide DSP, but the Play Store says it's not compatible with our device. I've found it best to sideload it in recovery. Instructions:
1) Download the .apk from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36168124#post36168124
2) Put the .apk in the same folder as adb.exe.
2) Boot into recovery and mount system.
3) Type in:
Code:
adb install com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro.apk
The install will complete with an error code, but it did install fine. Look in Settings\Apps\All and you should see new build number (see screenie #7)
*NOTE*-- For those of you that want to install the Walkman player, it specifically says in the OP of the Engine and the Aroma installer that you can NOT use the player with a DSP. Your installation in Aroma should be Universal, Universal, Walkman, Skip.
1/26/13- After some extensive testing (a LOT of flashing and restoring), I've come to the conclusion that the AC!D Engine either just doesn't work on our device or it doesn't work on any device. What I heard as a significant change in sound actually came from the Noozoxoide DSP and not from the Engine. A properly running Nooz sounds amazing combined with Beats on this phone. First, my test results (all v5 tests with proper build.prop edit. v7 supposedly doesn't need an edit):
AC!D v5 only: No change to sound
v5 with Walkman 5: No change
v5 with DSP Manager v2: Only DSP changes
v5 with Noozxoide DSP: Only Nooz changes
AC!D v7: phone boots, no changes to sound
AC!D v7 and Walkman v6: Phone won't boot into Android
v7 and DSP: DSP changes only
v7 and Nooz: Nooz changes only
The choice then becomes which DSP sounds better to you (DSP Manager v2 or Nooz.) I just sideloaded the latest version of Nooz (2.0.1.13) and I adjusted its settings to run with Beats. I don't think I could be happier with audio coming from this phone. Links:
flash v2.0.1.12 .zip installer with supporting files: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68066384/HDSoundEngine_CWM_24Jan2013.zip
then sideload v2.0.1.13 with Root Explorer (etc): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68066384/Noozxoide_EIZO-rewire__PRO_-_v2.0.1.13.apk
Tried to install it but after I changed the build.prop, saved, and rebooted, I couldn't find audio effects in sound settings. Checked build.prop again and the stuff I added wasn't there. Is yours still there?

That's very strange. Obviously a glitch on the xda side because that thread was 50+ pages. I uploaded the installers to my Dropbox. I used the Aroma installer and it works just fine (they said it was for 720p+ phones; which our phone is). They say the Universal driver works on any phone if you're not comfortable using Aroma. I take no credit for their creation:
Aroma installer: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68066384/[AROMA]AC!DAudioEngine[v5.0]_signed.zip (57.9MB)
Universal driver: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68066384/[Universal]AC!DAudioEngine[v5.0]_signed.zip (2.15MB)
Working fine for me.

Instructions modified to prevent possible conflicts.
Or you could (as the original AC!D forum instructions suggest) add the lines in a text editor using a file explorer app after making a backup of your original build.prop file. I renamed my build.prop to build.prop.bak, copied it to a clipboard, added the lines from the AC!D forum in a text editor, renamed the modified file to build.prop and put it in /system folder then rebooted. The whole process took less than 5 minutes and worked entirely on device. I caution those of you who don't know what you are doing to use the OP's advice as that method is safer and you are connected to your PC if anything goes south. I'm just providing a simplified on device alternative. Thanks docnok63 for keeping this thread updated with advice and improvements as the sound enhancements are remarkable to say the least. I also used this on my HP TouchPad running CM9 and the difference is stunning. Highly recommend doing this, you won't regret it.
---------- Post added at 01:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:45 AM ----------
Docnok63, will using your build.prop file in place of whatever build.prop file is currently in use on one's device wipe out certain mods and ROM features or would you recommend using only the portion at the bottom provided by the AC!D team in their forum to add the enhancements? Just want to be sure people don't mess up their customizations after using your build.prop.working file in place of their own.

This app enables you to easily change hidden settings on your Note 2 (and possibly other Samsung devices), such as:
Adding a shutter sound on/off option to the camera
Turning on Infinite Scroll mode on the launcher and app drawer
Extending how many contacts you can join together
These modifications normally can only be made by manually editing a system file, which can be dangerous and very inconvenient. This app makes the process quick and painless.
Features:
Shows which options have already been enabled, even by a different app or manually
Creates an automatic backup in case something goes wrong
Nice looking Holo interface
Supports devices which implement feature.xml or an others.xml file (all Touchwiz roms)
Adds a custom tag to the system file that allows you to easily tell what has been changed

There's a good chance that some of these will work. It's been confirmed working for the S4. First check if you have a feature.xml file or an others.xml file in the /system/csc directory.
I tried it on my Galaxy S4. It works! So far I have only tried the shutter sound toggle but I expect that the other settings should work too.
Hi
I have a Note 1 and I applied some CSC hacks for Note 2 listed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033894
And works flawlessly, I have: keyboard subsymbols, camera shutter sound menu and exit menu in browser.
Nice attempt but the app only detects the 'exit menu in browser' as enabled ignoring the other changes.
Also do not forget for keyboard subsymbols hack a language must be chosen (the app miss the option to choose a language for subsymbols) using another tag, by example:
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>es;es_US;en_US</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>
I'm attaching my others.xml file, maybe can help you debugging the mentioned problems.

I believe that I have fixed the change detection issue, it was caused by the fact that some of the lines in the others.xml had TRUE instead of true. It should work correctly now. Are you sure your phone doesn't also have a feature.xml file, because the file you included doesn't look like what my app would usually output. Anyway, I attached the new fixed version, please let me know if it displays correctly. I'll get working on the subsymbols issue.
Will these work for custom rom? When I'm running stock rom a few months ago, these work flawlessly by editing others.xml.. But now in liquidsmooth rom, I can't find others.xml nor csc folders :silly:

Thanks for the quick reply and fix.
Yeah my fault I copied from the other thread these values 'as is' and worked fine, but I recently notice the value of the tag CscFeature_Web_EnableAutoSimHomeUrlInProfile and it is on uppercase also, I didn't change that value, so the rom has it originally or it was generated.
I'm using stock JB german version (N7000XXLT4 N7000OXALT4 from dr.Ketan thread) rooted using PhilZ kernel.
There is no feature.xml, only a new file feature_backup.xml I believe created by your app.
I just tested the fixed version and detects the changes but applying some hacks the file generated seems malformed, the app create inside tag <features> another child tag <features> when apply changes, I don't think will work or am I wrong?
Attached a compare from original file and the modified

Touchwiz roms only. Most of these modify the stock samsung apps such as the launcher, dialer, and browser.

If there is other.xml file, then no feature.xml file in CSC folder. This app will edit that other.xml file instead feature.xml file and feature_backup.xml is backup file.
Good app. Works perfect on stock MG1 rom. Hope some more features will come. :good:
awesome..going to give this a try on my s4
Hi,
I just tested more deeply and works fine almost all supported CSC codes on my device. Great App!
Because I edited manually the file before use this app some values are being duplicated on every save, I think try to merge the before changes will result in a hell, worst if will support more CSC tags and features.
IMHO I suggest you this logic:
1. Exists backup the file? backup : skip
2. Import all the CSC (known and unknown) and keep it on memory
3. Edit known values or add it if not exists
4. To save dump CSC on memory to the file with overwrite
5. Jump to 1.
I think with this scheme you will avoid to merge changes. :highfive:

I did notice two discrepencies though with the s4
1. In that the app shows the search contacts by dialer as off, but I can still do it on my s4
2. "enable rotation control icon" in gallery was turned off, but it is already available on my s4

I'm not sure what you mean. I already had edited the CSC files manually to enable shutter menu and take pictures while on call (which is not an option in this app
and when i opened the app the first time, it showed as "enable shutter sound menu" as on, because I had already manually edited that CSC option

[DSP + APOLO] Working equalizer for stock rom !

Hellow all s3 mini stock users .
Tired about the "low" volume of your phone ?
I have tried lots of custom roms only for trying to increase the sound .
I have tried multiple mods trying to increase the volume ,
but since nothing worked for me i have created my own "mod" .
The files / binary were imported from CM10 .

The orange template for apolo was donwloaded from playstore [apolo ubuntu] .
Flash zip content :
- Apolo Music Player .
- Dsp Manager .
- Working binary and configs for equalizer.
HOW TO INSTALL ?
- Place the zip file on your external sd and flash it via cwm .
- Delete cache + dalvik cache
- Reboot.
Enjoy and hit thanks if you have searched for this :laugh:.
Make sure to backup your rom before flasing this , in case you want to revert back , but i'm sure you won't
Note that the effects are working only within apolo player
If you want to be able to access equalizer from apolo music player follow this steps :
Go to : Settings > Sounds > Effects and select DSP as default .
Whohoooo i got high )) ( In volume) .
UPDATE NEW IMPROVED APK + SOME BINARY MODS .
Apk got from :
#olokos < Thanks for this one !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625426
The flashable zip was updated , it does all on its own , delete old content + bin , upload new ones , clear cache + dalvik & reboot .
Put it on your exernal sd card , flash it via cwm , you can install this one even if you have installed the first zip archive because it will remove
old content so no need to worry about that .
The new zip does also install new template for apollo (HoloLightTheme) access settings in the apollo menu and select it
.
New transparent widget !!
[NEW] FOR USERS WHO WANT TO KEEP THEIR "DOWNLOAD DISPLAY" AS "OFFICIAL" USE [THIS METHOD] TO ROOT YOUR DEVICE ON THE STOCK ROM , THAN INSTALL [THIS APP] FOR FLASHING THE xSoundFx_latest.zip FILE WITHOUT CWM > RESTART PHONE AFTER FLASHING THE ZIP THROUGH THAT APP.
########### BUGS ###########
- it seems it has some bugs on profile switching .
(i have used the player via bluetooth after listening some time i disconnect it , and hit play on the speaker the profile on dsp is still bluetooth i was needed to plugin the jack > play > and pull it back after that play again on speaker < is on speaker profile now >

Apolo only , thats why i packed the zip with that player .
The thing is that i do not really know which files does also need to be included so this can work globally ,
if there's someone who can take a look on the zip file and help with patching i will gladly appreciate it . :victory:

To be honest the sound provided by this mod (from this thread) hears hell louder than the "viper plugin" you mentioned , i just tested viper plugin even with the apolo player and the sound is "low" although it has more "effects" than this mod that beeing said i will rather use this + apolo player for high volume !
Thanks for this, man. A quick question, will this work on other devices [ex. Xperia E1, LG Optimus LTE]?

I do not know if will run or not ... most likely not , because the library was taken from cm10 and the zip was created based on s3mini stock rom structure to delete "stock" sound library and replace with the one from cm10 .
" Effects chooser " will appear after you flash the zip file ... since you have 2 sound effects installed the "choose" option will appear .

Sure, everyone to his own taste :cyclops:
Anyway, some of the Viper4Android code is based on CM DSP Manager and, I think, if you set output gain to +6 dB and you set control gain to extreme to compress signal, it will sound louder than ever!

[MOD][Lollipop] Add 0.75 animation scale in developer options

Note: This mod is only working on scrubbers lollipop port.
I've always preferred an 0.75 animation scale. 1.0 is too slow and 0.5 is to fast.
If you like it too just follow these instructions:
- Flash attached zip in recovery
- Reboot and head in to settings. In About phone tap the build number 5 times to enable developer options.
- In developer options scroll down to the 3 types of animation scale.
- Now you should have a 0.75 option. Set this and let your device fly.
Status: Beta 1
Uploaded: 2014-12-08
I'm just saying I turn them all off to 0 and makes everything much faster.
Actually turning them all of might give you issues. Animations are not solely there for the eye pleasure. And everything is not "much faster" compared to 0.75.
0.75 suits me best. And IMHO the lollipop animations aren't that bad

Yes, I tried it right now, in CWM and TWRP. Not working again on both. Anyways, the zip's script is supposed to mount system automatically. I'm not sure what is causing it to not work when its working on some devices.
And yes, I am on Scrubber's Lolipop port right now.
I've got no idea why it's not working for you... :/
Cam you try to push the settings apk manually and see if that helps.
Oh wait @jnx_r try set selinux back to enforcing.

Well, I haven't tried out every setting yet to come up with my own preferences yet. But yes I can confirm that its working as advertised.
Just play any audio track and while its playing, change the settings in V4A and see the difference. If you're unable to notice anything, try the extreme setting, or increase the decibels in the optional effects you prefer.
If you still can't notice any difference, then its about time you changed your headset, I'm using $450 IEMs. From my short time with V4A, I found it to be more versatile than DSP with more flexibility.
Now about what you were asking, I'm currently using AGC gain at moderate level. Extreme makes things really loud. Anyways, I'm happy that it fixes one of the main complaints about Sony phones'. ie. low audio levels.
Equalizer is disabled at this point, but I may tinker with it as I change tracks. Bass level boost & Clarity[makes audio crisper by amplifying high freqs a bit] are left untouched too as my IEMs can produce bass pretty well, and enabling those options will simply be overkill. But I do imagine using those options when I am listening on something which doesn't couple with my ear canals perfectly.
Virtual Surround is also left disabled, along with Binaural levels but I may enable Virtual Surround, during movies or extended listening to counter listening fatigue.
-
Go through the OP for V4A once for details regarding the settings and you should be set:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
PS: I'm using it with Walkman app from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728110
It works flawlessly, along with other Sony media apps. xLoud and other proprietary Sony Audio technologies like Clear Stereo and Clear Phase are working too.
^ Thank you so much jnx_r for for your help, much appreciated.
I will play around with the settings until I'm satisfied with the results!
Please people don't discuss viper in this thread.
@jnx_r push Settings.apk found in the flashable zip to /system/priv-app/Settings and set permissions to 644.
The flashable zip should definitely work though. We are on the same system, uses the same recovery (I use CWM).
Flash it again and show me a screenshot of the windows animation scale options please.
