How To Flash Modem
If I wanted to flash the modem zip how would I do that? Can I flash it from flashify or do i go into TWRP and just install it like a normal zip?

I usually use viper4android especially because LG doesn't have any audio effects settings outside of it's music app. (I use Google music) when I go to install it it says check that the Rom is rooted and busyboxed... Any ideas?

Freeze it in tibu

thank you...
this is better than 10b im assuming?? was originally on 10b but didnt want to go to 11c because didnt want to get stuck and not to be able to roll back in case i didnt like it.,.. im on liquid smooth had a nandroid backup but wheni formatted my internal i accidentaly erased my nandroid backup couldnt get into download mode to use kdz/tot im hoping this rom or the 10b rom will let me use twrp to go back to stock because the 4k recording doesnt work that good with liquid smooth.. Thank you for all your work you hopefully save me alot of headaches from deleting my nandroid backup..

Other than the deodex, what's different between rooting on a 10b build and taking the OTA? Assuming you've rooted such that it carries over ... which it seems is possible.

Is there anyway to restore the LG Health app? I tried using TB to restore it from stock rom, it shows it as being restored/re-installed but I can't access it or use it? Wasnt sure if there were other necessary files needed that I'm missing. Thanks!

I'll make a flashable zip in the next few days for people that want to add Lg, Sprint stuff back.
It'll be in post #2 of the ROM thread. I'll also hopefully be posting flashable updates there too.

It's a Sprint ROM, so probably not. Yet.
We're all in the learning phase of flashing these G3's, so it'll take a little time to see if it'll work with most of the other G3s, which are all built for GSM.
Sprint is built for CDMA with an option for GSM. Hopefully that makes sense?
I guess you could try it, but you may end up using Flashtool, and hopefully don't end up with a brick.

Internal wipes your internal SD. If you have nothing you need there it's fine.
Usually there's something there you forgot about. That's my case anyway.
Or if you have different roms you restore to, they may need files from there.

I wished I know for sure the answer. I would say it wouldn't. But if you have stock working already, then maybe it will.
My little warning just in case, If it doesn't work you may end up having to use Flashtool to fix it, or with a brick. I can't be held responsible.
But, if you do decide to try it and it does work, would you mind sharing that carrier folder? If that's all we need to get this thing GSM I'd be really happy.
Good morning!! That what i did for the gsm stock rom [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/unlock-sim-gsm-how-to-t2853594" and works i had low signal but i change the network mode with shortcut master to 1800 and everything ok!! By the way i ll make a full back up and try it maybe tomorrow and i ll post you back the results thanks for the answer
everything ok!!!! i installed the deoxed rom from engine95 and works greatt!!! and the most important i have gsm signal without do anything more !!!! the only problem i had was with the activation screen i did the trick with the buttons volume up and down power button and back without wifi asked me for pin code accept had signal but still activation screen reboot with wifi this time did again the trick and after 5 minutes told me activation failed and the menu pops up
the rom is faster and smoother the volume is louder and i see a difference in camera quality the photos are cleaner and sharper
the only strange thing is that i did wipe and advance wipe but i still have my photos and my music!!!( i have no sd card)
thanks a lottt!!!

Can this be flashed over my current setup?
Yup. And you can restore back if you want. The only thing that sticks is the modem
Again thanks for all the hard work. Really love the work you do.
OK so I made the leap and dirty flashed this over my current setup. Now I'm having issues with gmail fc'ing. So I uninstalled it thinking that may help. So I tried to install it from the play store and it says "incompatible update"??? Now I can't even sideload it as it tells me " application not installed". Any ideas as to why its doing this?

OK so something weird just happened... I went into recovery to fix permissions to see if that would help and gmail was somehow reinstalled... Its still not working but weird.

Disregard my previous posts. Its working now.
I'm really liking the ZV6 update! The ROM is smooth and no lag noticed. I was able to pick up cell signal quickly. Great Job!

A couple of questions. I have bump and twrp installed and rooted on zv4, everything else is stock, except the kernel. I flashed the oversharpening fix kernel. Can I apply this zv6 update to my phone without wiping data and keeping the fixed kernel? Also, should I download the odex or deodexed?

You can probably dirty flash. But you will lose the kernel.
Obviously my recommendation is to start from scratch as there's enough changes/fixes in this update to give you issues.
On the odexed vs deodexed, you can Google it for a better explanation. But the simple answer is: Deodexed is way easier to Theme. But Odexed is said to run a bit faster/smoother because it caches the apps. If I remember that right.
Really the choice is up to you. If you want to Theme it, then you'll need deodexed.

I dirty flashed the deodexed version and when i booted the phone up, i keep getting com.android.systemui has stopped, and I can't do anything with the phone. Any fix in mind? For reference, my dpi was changed, so that may be the issue, i'm not sure

Clean install.
If you used an app to change DPI, then that's probably the issue. You need to wipe data also.
If through the build.prop, then it should've been OK.
You might be able to dirty flash the odexed as that's like factory.
Again, were taking about a factory update so it really should be a clean install.
Anyone having issues with Android Wear and ZV6? When connected to my Moto360 I get running sync loop. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting the phone and watch.
Since the update is already signed by LG, we should be able to use flashify if we have stock recovery and rooted. Is that correct? I know that I should bump TWRP, but I was holding off till lollipop. Just looking to do a dirty flash.

I know Flashify has had issues in the past with these Roms. That's why I recommend doing it in TWRP.
If you have TWRP already why Bump it again?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding.
Edit. I wouldn't think stock recovery would flash this. It's using bits and pieces of ZV6 but not all of it.
And I think the updater-scipt would make it fail. I may be wrong though.

I'm stock recovery and rooted. Since I haven't bumped TWRP, I thought I could flashify and avoid the 5 second TWRP delay issue by holding off on a custom recovery until we get the stock rooted version of lollipop. You and autoprime have always given solid advice and as such I will take your suggestion.

And again, I'm outta Thanks, so Thank you.
The 5 sec delay I talked about has disappeared for me now. But then I've flash about a million Roms in the last few days.
Others aren't getting the delay at all.
I guess what I'm saying is you don't need to reflash Bump TWRP. It works just fine. Even if you get that slight delay. Eventually it'll go away.
Edit. Get TWRP installed now. Have some fun with whatever Rom you want to try. Personally I'm not expecting Lollipop til next year. If it happens sooner great.

Xperia Z Ultra GPE 5.0 update
My first install of the OTA update resulted in an error, so I did some research and found out that my phone can't be rooted. So after unrooting through superuser and doing a factory reset, i finally received the OTA update again today, yet i still get the same error. The phone will reboot to install the update and the status bar will stop and the screen will show the android on his back and say error, then i have to force shutdown to boot my phone back up.
So I started out with a Galaxy S4. Which was easy to do anything and everything with a simple Google (GOOGLE FAHTAGAN!!!!) search. Now I have a Sony Z Ultra GPE, and I love it, but doing things is exceedingly more difficult due to its relative obscurity. Also, I am a truck driver. I work at night hauling 2 28" trailers for FedEx, so I am a dabbler not an expert by any means. My one great skill is I can follow directions! So, the groundwork having been laid:
Is there a step by step thread someplace on how I can gain root access? I have Android Lollipop 5.0 on my Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE. I just want to fix the sdcard thingy and make the Archer Pirate Virus my loading animation. :fingers-crossed::good:

Unlock the bootloader if it is locked (you didn't have to restore the TA/lock the bootloader to OTA to 5.0)
then either
Hotboot DooMLoRD's V2 kernel [fastboot boot <path_to_boot.img>]
Boot into temp recovery
Flash superSU from recovery
or
Fastboot DooMLoRD's rooted system/boot/etc .img in the dev section (I've not tested this)
[fastboot flash <partition_name> <partition.img>]
I hope that makes sense
5.1

I recently flashed this yesterday with odin. Everything is working great, love it. only issue I have been experiencing isnt really much of an issue but rather just annoying. For some reason I am unable to change any text notification sounds. No matter what I do it is stuck on the whistle notification. Ive even booted back into recovery and tried to wipe cache again and that doesnt seem to work either. I already performed a factory reset in recovery before first boot. So idk. anyone know what the issue could be?

update to 4.4.4 missed something
Been on android for years and my old account here is gone so starting anew. I fflashed the new modem and bootloader, everything is good minus one thing. I followed the post since i was on nc5 and forgot to disable my lockscreen. After update i couldnt get into my phone so i did a full reset, factory reset, formatted phone, cleaned dalvic the works and everything works except when i goto assign a lockscreen i can only do swipe or pattern, nothing else works. mi3 modem possible?
Im on NC5 with MI3 Modem,
Can I flash the MI3 modem after following the procedure in the OP and still work?
Thanks
First ive been doing this for about 5 years or longer. Im on nk4 stock but wanted to flash your deodex debloated rom. I used twrp to wipe and flash. Everything flashed fine it seemed. It got stuck at the Samsung screen and wouldnt go past it. Any ideas what i need to do to make this work?

Is it possible to receive OTA notifications on this ROM? Got word that Sprint is pushing 5.0 and wondering if I could catch it. I know it's mostly stock and status usually states official but with the kernel mod I wasn't sure.

Better late than never, no you cannot use MI3 Modem. You need to be on KK.

No it is not, this ROM is basically Stock with exception of being deodexed and having Knox removed. Your best bet is to find a copy of Galaxy Tools v 3.1.5 or v 3.1.8 and that will enable the HotSpot on this ROM.
