Bootloop CM 11 - HTC One X+

Hello,
I recently flashed CM 11 to my One X +
Was all working fine until I noticed that my SIM contacts are gone. So I decided to change back to Android Revolution HD.
In my wisdom, I flashed the boot.img first and restarted. So now I'm stuck in a bootloop and I can't get out of it since the phone does not
go into fastboot anymore.
The three buttons (back, home and the weird thing on the right) just keep flashing red when I press power + volume down.
Just pressing power has the same effect btw. So I'm completely stuck and hoping for some help?

So you need to force a power off. The lights at the bottom will flash 3 or 4 times alerting you that you are forcing a power down of the device. This is NORMAL.
I recommend holding the power and volume down to try to get it out of the boot loop, and into the boot-loader. Hopefully before you flashed CWM 11 you made a Nandroid backup in your recovery, in which case you can restore it and everything should be A-ok as it will restore the boot.img and the rom along with your contacts and apps.
Otherwise you will need to reflash the Rom as usual. Eventually with a boot loop the device runs out of battery, and will power down on its own. At which point you can (usually) charge it enough to re-flash, via entering the bootloader by pressing power and volume down. Then you can just enter recovery, and flash the rom from there.
Did you load the ROM to the internal memory, if you need to re-flash I hope? If not, then you can push or sideload the ROM via adb.

Can't access recovery menu. Is my 10.1v bricked?

So I installed this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200985) a few days ago w/o much trouble. Today I updated the ROM to version 2.4 (first used wipe.zip and then the rom). When I rebooted my tab I got stuck at a bootloop (the ROM's logo keeps showing up) and it seems I'm unable to get into recovery.
AFAIK, I should get into recovery by pressing the VOLUME UP & and the power button simultaneously, but nothing happens when I do this. Getting into fastboot isn't a problem, but I just can't seem to get into recovery mode.
Can I access my recovery menu through the fastboot via the SDK manager? Did I use the correct buttons to get into recovery?
Thanks in advance
You should push on both Power Button and Volume Down buttons. Right after the Samsung logo shows, you will see two menus, let go of both buttons immediately and choose your recovery boot. i hope this will help your problem

[Q] Galaxy Nexus "toro" Wont Boot. Stuck In ODIN/Downloading Mode

I tried flashing a stock Android 4.2 JB ROM that seems legit. After flashing, I rebooted my device and saw the standard Nexus boot animation. So far, I though all was well. It's not. My phone has been stuck in this constant booting state for hours. I pulled the battery after an appropriate amount of waiting and held down the power and volume down+up button. Instead of booting into Fastboot mode, it went straight to Odin Mode. All I can do with my device is boot to Odin Mode or watch the Nexus boot animation over and over again. Does anyone know the solution to my problem or some sort of utility that will help me? Thanks.
Ahh bootloops...Have you tried pressing volume down+up first, then power? Sometimes holding power, then pressing volume down first goes directly to odin mode, not recognizing the later push of volume up. I've never used odin mode..Can you boot straight to recovery, volume up+power? And do you have cwm? If you were not on stock before, then you need a factory reset before it'll boot, and perhaps even a cache wipe.
And i'd bet youd find more help if this was posted in the nexus q&a.

hatka flashed issue

i recently tried to flash hatka battery life after reading a guide, saying it was okay to flash the rom first now i am stuck with my droid dna not being able to turn off and only restarting. can someone please help me i am able to get to lockscreen and settings but the screen is black and i get android htcdialer has stopped when it opens. whenever i try to adb it says error
If your phone is frozen on a particular screen, keep holding down the power button, you will see your bottom 3 icons flash repeatedly, Keep holding the power button until it powers off (restarts), the hold time varies-sometimes you need to repeat this process. Once off (actually restarting), hold the volume down key in and it will re boot into fastboot/recovery, you can scroll to recovery and then restore (hope you have a backup)

Can't get into TWRP recovery from boot

I'm a bit of a noob at terminology and android settings so try to bear with me...
I'm running a deodexed vzw CleanRom v1.6.5 and I've downloaded TWRP recovery via gooManager. (Yes I've installed the recovery script from it.) Back when I had a stock rom, when I held the power + the volume up button it would go into TWRP recovery fine. But now (I don't know if it's CleanRom's fault) when I start up the phone into recovery mode using the shortcut the blue text would appear but it would restart normally.
My stock backup was corrupted for some reason and it softbricked my phone so I had to odin flash and go through all that rooting process again before restoring from my CleanRom backup via TWRP. So I don't really want to go back to stock, but I guess I can download a stock one if I really need to.
I can still enter TWRP by going into gooManager and pressing reboot recovery from there. Any solution to this?
I'm also on CleanRom 1.6.5 and it works for me... Vol up+power

To get mine to boot to recovery while phone is off I have to hold volume + and menu key at the same time. Then hit the power button until it vibrates then let go of the power button. If I keep holding the power button then the blue writing is displayed but instead of going into recovery it just reboots. However if I only hit the power button and release when it vibrates and I am still holding the volume + and menu key then it will boot to twrp recovery.
Alright, I'm feeling pretty foolish.
It was a simple user error that I really hate to admit. If I hold down the volume up and the power button and keep holding down both, the phone restarts as normal. But I should be letting go of the power button when the phone vibrates, while holding down the volume up button keeps it loading into the recovery mode. Don't know why I didn't have that problem before. I attempted Travis' idea first then experimented a little without the menu button and it worked fine.
Thanks.
Glad you got it figured out. :good:

True and that is what he said he has been doing. However what if you flash something and you get a boot loop. You can pull the battery and try again but if it boot loops again you will need to be able to get to your recovery with a non booting phone. That is why it is important to know how to boot the phone into recovery with out the need of any apps.

Precisely my thought process. I knew that at some time I'm bound to softbrick my phone again and I needed to boot recovery from startup.

Stuck in recovery without power button, help pls

A year ago, when I was still using my S3 I9300 power button was loose, all the time it was locking and unlocking screen. So what I did.. I removed power button physically from the board. Everything was ok, I used app from the store to lock the screen.
But now, I rooted my S3 with some pc software, and then I was about to install custom recovery, I restarted my phone to recovery (with quick boot app) and then I realized what I did.. So now I'm stuck in the recovery without possibility to ''click'' anything with power button. I can move up and down, but I can't select any option.
So what can I do? Worst part is that I can't even start phone to normal mode, I even left it over night to completely drain the battery, but when I turn it on, it goes to recovery again.
Any ideas ?????
Thx
EDIT: I open the phone and while I was in recovery on ''reboot system now'' option, I used small screwdriver and tap connection on the board where the power button was, there was a small spark (!) but phone restared to normal mode I installed CM 11 and twrp recovery with Rom Menager, and everything works fine now.
