[ROM] [5.0.2] Deb - ANDROID-5.0.2_R1 - LRX22G (12/20) - Nexus 7 (2013) LTE Android Development

I have compiled an AOSP rom directly from the Google servers. This is based on the DEB repository branch android-5.0.2_r1 as found here. I put together a quick image if anyone wants the very latest changes and it can be flashed via fastboot. This is not intended to be flashed via recovery. This build is stock untouched so I have added nothing to it including root. I just wanted an untouched build because it seems like most of the builds on XDA have been modified in some way.
How to flash:
Place flash-all.bat & image-deb-lrx22g.zip within your platform-tools directory (included in the Android SDK)
Click flash-all.bat and wait for image to be flashed to tablet
Enjoy!
Optional:
Install gapps for Android 5.0. I am using the following package.
Download Link:
image-deb-lrx22g
Download Link Flashable ZIP:
ota-image-deb-lrx22g.zip
List of Working/Non-working Features
As far as I can tell everything is working in this rom. I will update if something changes.
Previous Builds
image-deb-lrx22c (FASTBOOT)
ota-image-deb-lrx22c.zip (FLASHABLE ZIP)
image-deb-lrx21t (FASTBOOT)
image-deb-lrx21v (FASTBOOT)
ota-image-deb-lrx21v.zip (FLASHABLE ZIP)
Please say thanks if you like this post!

I have only started playing with it, but so far I can say WiFi, data, bluetooth, camera, screen rotation and sound are all working as they should.
I can add that I used the preview proprietary binaries for this built. I'm pretty sure those were meant for 5.0. Honestly so far everything is working as intended.

Root?

This build is untouched so root is not included. Use chainfires root utility to obtain root.

it should be lrx21t though
this build has that build number

I don't use a sim in mine so can't test this, but I must ask if this gets updated please disable wiping internal storage. A lot of stuff has to download while I'm out first build that worked properly for me so thanks for that [emoji106]

I use AT&T and I am looking at LTE right now. Possibly try resetting your APN settings? Also I am using the 4.04 bootloader. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I flashed the gapps via CWMR that I flashed after the fact. If you want to flash those then flash stock recovery you can do that as well. After installing the gapps via custom recovery (of your choice) just pull the recovery.img from the .zip file that I have posted and
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This will enable you to keep the stock recovery after the fact.

resetting gives vodafone apn that is not valid for me
how did u revert bootloader ?

Installed perfectly on mine. If you're running Linux just unzip the update into a folder and run "fastboot -w update image-deb-lrx21t.zip" from the command line since there's no flash-all.sh

flashed it
seems everything work, i will test tonight a little more. thank you so much. my monkey appreciate it

Email force close loop after logging in. Other than that its absolutely sublime! Will use yahoo mail for now

flashed again and now it works - no idea how

Root is not possible because I have not made a boot.img that enables permissive mode. Again this is an unmodified build for those that wanted a working, stable AOSP version. Maybe when _r7 comes out I will compile it with root for you guys.

yes, you do need to unlock the bootloader and you will lose your data during the process
this is for those who got the bootloader unlock already
if you're rooted use titanium backup and restore your data afterwards
-=-=-
as an alternative you can wait for the OTA to arrive on your phone , it will be updated and your data will be preserved

Technically yes, but it's really easy to avoid that. There's an app that lets you unlock the bootloader without using data and to install the factory image without losing data you just edit the install script and remove one little switch ("-w") from the last command.
It's not recommended - but it's easy to do.
How would I go about flashing this if I have everything stock except the kernel?

I tried flashing with the included batch script with the removed "-w" to keep my user data. It did not work. After flashing it was stuck in a boot loop. I had to flash again with the "w" to get my tablet running again.

[Q] How do I downgrade from 5.1 to 5.02, Dell 7840

Hi
I current have 5.1 rooted 7840 and wanted to know if I can go back to 5.02. After 5.1 I'm having issues with audio, crackling sound while playing games and typing touch keyboard; so, I want to go back to 5.02 if possible. I've tried to restore to kitkat nandroid backup that I've download from the fourm but it gives me "Error while flashing boot image!" I'm guessing I cannot go back to kitkat while I'm on lollipop. If someone can show me how to go back to 5.02 or even kitkat (both had no audio issue) I'd appreciate it.
Thank you

i completely wiped and re-installed 5.0.1 on my tab a few days ago. Worked perfectly with the procedure described in the link. Just be sure that fastboot AND adb-drivers are installed beforehand.
From what I gathered there is no system image file...so how does it downgrade based on a 25 meg file? Do I need to flash the other zips as well or just the one listed?

you're right, but xBIGREDDx provided a dump of system.img some time ago, which i'm really glad for. If you stick to this thread you should have no problems reverting back to 5.0.1. But it's really not the easiest way when you're used to other vendors where you just need to flash something on your custom recovery of choice.
Ive messed up 5.1 system so i needed to flash clean rom and i did as in post above. Now im having Android 5.0.2 and i cannot update to Android 5.1....OTA file gives me Error 0.

In fastboot type fastboot erase userdata than fastboot erase cache. This will wipe your data. But also removes forced encryption.
