[Q] Will there be AOSP binaries and sources on github for the Z3TC - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hi,
this is a question to @jerpelea and any other folks from Sony that read on this board. Will there be AOSP binaries and sources on github to build Lollipop for the Z3 Tablet Compact and if so, could you give an ETA? (And if not a reason ) And on the same note, when will we be able to unlock the bootloader? I would love to start experimenting with Lollipop on this awesome device ASAP.
Thank you and best regards,
lowtraxx

you already can unnlock the bootloader. someone here posted the code to enter for unlocking. can't remember in which thread it was though.

Yes, I found that as well. You need to use your IMEI in the Z3 unlock procedure. But I meant providing an official way and supporting the unlock of the tablet officially.

CyanogenMod for M4 aqua

Hello people.
I just came to the forums and since nothing is happening here visibly, i was wondering to do CyanogenMod bringup for the device
Dont forget the poll above
If there are people here, willing to help us out a bit, it would be good to do something here.
Post your hangouts here, if you are interested in what we are wanting to do.
We can use all the help available. Testing, dev-ing, etc! Just pool in everything we got and lets get rolling

I hope cm comes to this device I see ATM there's not a lot happening in the way of custom ROMs suppose its early days [emoji3]
Yeah, although CM would be good at some point in the future, I don't know how useful it is at the moment since the phone is running pretty much stock android anyway with just minimal Sony skinning on top however it'd still be nice to see it as an option
+1
(As soon as I will be able to buy it this week. )
+1 ! Would be awesome
cant wait for a better rom for M4!

But now how can M4 Aqua ROOT ? , many root tools not support yet ?

have you tried kingroot? it works on z3 lollipop
Today I bought E2303.
[email protected]
None of the rooting methods are working.
Cyanogen would be nice . .
Cyanogenmod would be soooo nice to see on our phones! HW is great, but sony's software is crippling it...
Sent from my E2303 using XDA Free mobile app
who can root it???
Can't wait for CM. There is so much bloat in this phone
Maybe in a few months
Have Sony released device/kernel sources? I'm planning to buy this phone and I can compile roms if it has open sources

Root for marshmallow?

As the title states... Is there a process to root marshmallow for the Z4 tablet?
Yeah, do check the info board at your local butchers store. I'm sure it will be announced there first.

same procedure as ...
So far (March 10th) SONY have not posted the sources for the kernel.
Going via GitHub is too much work for me...
And the sources there might not be a good match for their released ROM.
EDIT (after seeing the NEW version number in XperFirm at 23:00):
they lumped many devices together: http://developer.sonymobile.com/dow...rchives/open-source-archive-for-32-1-a-1-163/
I will have a look at the m*ss.
And might roll my own root...
@DHGE what is the link that you share justnow ?
is it for rooting ?

What are the first steps to develop ROM's for a "forgotten" device?

I bought a Xperia C, a fairly popular model here in Brazil, but I just found out that it's bootloader was locked until some months ago, when Sony decided it was time to let people unlock it.s bootloader.
But now I see the phone has never receveid an update after Jelly Bean 4.2.x and no Custom ROM was ever developed for it (all ROM's that I found are just themed versions of the OEM 4.2 Jelly Bean).
So I decided that maybe I could build CM or AOSP for this device but after reading about the process I discovered that there's no device tree or vendor or kernel info available anywhere for this device.
I think this is all because Sony allowed the bootloader to be unlocked just now the phone is discontinued, so the possible developers this phone had moved away from it too quickly...
It's a shame, because it's indeed a good device, but it's stuck in a old firmware because of Sony's lack of support - same thing happened to the Xperia SP, another excellent device, which at least had an unlocked bootloader which allowed a lot of Custom ROM's to be developed.
So, I wish to know if there's any salvation for this device or if I should give up on it...
PS: I am a software developer, but I don't understand anything about android or Java. I'm willing to learn and develop ROM's for this device with someone's else help... I'll just need to find time to do that...
if your bootloader is unlocked the first step is compile a custom recovery, normally twrp that you can find tutorials in here. the kernel source code is always provided because of the linux open source license, I'm on the cellphone so I cant post links but search for the twrp compiling guide in here. i hope this helps

[F3112/F3116][ROM][UNOFFICIAL][6.0.1] Cyanogemod 13 project for Xperia XA Dual Sim

CyanogenMod 13 for the Sony Xperia XA Dual Sim
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which is designed to increase
performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be
used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps).
CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Before you start
This ROM is only for the F3112 and the F3116
Code:
Code:

* Your warranty may be voided !
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Known Issues
-Camera not working
-Video not working
-No Sim
-Screen not wake up after screen off.
-No sound
-"Security" settings not working
-"More... " settings not working
-NFC not working
-GPS (not tested)
-Full brightness
-And probably more...
Guides/Instructions
For now I will not explain how to flash because my Rom is in very beta stage and I need help for debugging,
it mean it's not user friendly and only skilled users will know how to flash it,
As soon as the rom will be stable I will update this part of the guide.
I will just say it's like any other CM Rom flashing.

You know porting roms have nothing to make with pure developpment. More with analyse of codes and importations of libraries, etc... You won't really code a whole page
I am so happy to see this here
My old LG D295 just died and i pull the trigger for XA F3111 and i hope everything is going well with the port

It's on the good way, I'm waiting for my new computer to continue, my actual take 11 hours to build :silly: As soon as the "ril" (telephony features) will work I will release an update, for now I can enter pin code but sim stay locked
All other features are working or unstable, only NFC is not working. For XA single sim you will have to wait a little more.

Well: aptX means licence fees. Does Cyanogen pay them?
I need facts, no beliefs. Cyanogen is not known for aptX support.
Or is there a file like "libbt-aptX-ARM-x.x.x.so" in the /system/lib/ folder? If not, your belief is unsubstantiated.
Can we expect CM 14 ? instead?
are you going to build a rom like cm or aosp for the xa ultra?

Probably no, I don't have an unlocked Ultra to work on it. As long as we don't know why Ultra devices can brick when flashing with Flashtool it will stay with locked bootloader.

Thank you for your help but I need the device in my hands for many reasons (dump, debugging, reverse engineering, ...).
As you know XA and Ultra are not intended to have custom roms and I have to make my own sources, it mean a lot of work. Ultra is not a simple copy/paste of the XA system

Apt-x is a feature supported in vanilla android already.
Then it's true you should have the loading library (which isn't all that secret btw) but for some reason, it's reported to work nevertheless on Xperia S.
Regardless, I don't see why you couldn't just include stock libbt-aptX-ARM-4.2.2.so in android_vendor/proprietary (or android_device/prebuilt, Idk)

Is there any chance this ROM will work on the f3111?

As you know CM is dead and Lineage OS just launched. Other thing, Nougat for XA and Ultra will come soon and I know that users will ask for Rom based on it. We can say CM13 project is dead but new Lineage OS project will come for XA
