[Q] Z2 Camera doesn't get focus, look like VGA Camera - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I didn't have any problem with my z2 but from 3 days ago the camera now is not getting focus, the photo/image look like blurred, I've tried the manual focus but also didn't work. Someone had the same problem? How did you solve?
Thank you

There was something like that on xperia a when you downgraded to 4.2.2 with unlocked bootloader. Try to reinstall the camera app or even whole rom to check if it's a fault of OS or something else.

The XPERIA Arc camera app was created for a different set of camera hardware. The Arc has Sony's touted 'Exmor R' CMOS sensor and a different lense where both perform better in low-light conditions than whatever SE smart phone before it.
I would think the app itself and whatever drivers it might require would need to be changed in some way to make it work with the X10. And even if someone were to get something like this working, the differences in hardware would make the end result taken pictures look pretty much like whatever came out of the X10's stock camera app anyway.

Unless there was a dramatic difference in picture quality and general functionality, I don't think the fancier user interface of the Arc's stock camera would be enough to get the XDA devs to even try porting it over for the X10.
I want the stock xperia arc camera interface ported to my xperia x10 too! Just the interface.

[Q] Panoramic Camera Apk mod for SGS2 ?

I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson X10, and now I'm a very proud owner of my SGS2.
But when I had my X10, there was a FANTASTIC Sony Ericsson camera apk called "Panorama".
It was possible to take beautiful panoramic pictures in only one second ! No need to take many pictures, no need to stich, it was absolutely amazing !
I searched Android market, but there is nothing like this app, and all the other panoramic camera have really crappy results
So I wonder if one dev could mod (hack ) the Sony Ericsson apk, and compil something that we would be able to use on our SGS2
See this apk in attachment
In the camera app, have you tried clicking on settings - Shooting Mode - Panorama?
I have taken some pretty good panoramas using the stock camera
PS I like your Mu Mu Van!
As j4d said stock camera has panorama function, no need for any hacks.

[Q] Pink horizontal lines in front camera

XZU + Lollipop - The camera is dead again. Anybody else?

So after the ridiculous upgrades to 4.4.3/4.4.4 that broke the camera, I went to CM11 and have been there happily ever since. Well, the 5.0 update was too sweet to pass up so I flashed back to 4.4.2 stock, then OTA'ed to 4.4.3/4.4.4, then 5.0.
Bad news gang, the camera is busted again. Rear camera is dead, selfie cam is fine... just like 4.4.3.
Thanks Sony!
Anybody else do the upgrade yet? Any luck getting the camera back?

Well actually, I have the same issue. My rear camera is *working*, but the auto focus is dead as well.
What are you doing to get around that?

Well, they load and operate as well as the stock app, still no auto focus on the rear camera and they'll freeze or just silently fail when you try.
Looks like I need a Nexus 6. Special thanks to Sony for this one.
I had the same camera issue for on my bootloader unlocked ZU GPE.
Here is what I did.
I flashed 4.4.2, flashed the stock recovery, and then relocked the bootloader.
Then I called Google play customer support and had mine replaced under warranty.
It looks like that is the only option to fix the this camera mess that Sony created.
BTW, I did this before the lollypop update became available.
I'm using Android 5.0 on my Z Ultra GPE, and the front (8M) camera works fine in Camera FV-5, a paid app.
Do you have manual focus/DNG capture/manual exposure settings in Camera FV-5?

You can read about Camera FV-5's features here.
Manual Focus and RAW-DNG are supported by the application, but not by the Z Ultra GPE. You would need to be using a Nexus 5 or Nexus 6 (and Android 5.0). For the rest of us, the app offers lossless PNG.
There's no a Manual exposure mode (M) or Aperture-priority (A): just Program (P) and Shutter Priority (S). In P, you can easily override the nominal exposure by using your finger to move an exposure compensation slider. But whether this override is provided by the shutter or the aperture is decided by the app, not by you.
Shutter-priority (S) is crude; you must manually type the shutter speed you want! It's more for long exposures than for everyday use.
What I like most is how easily I can change ISO (Auto-50-100-200-400-800-1600-3200) without going to the menu.
(added Dec. 10. 2014): You can tell Android 5.0 to save your pictures (and for Cinema FV-5, your movies) to your external micro SD card.
Similar flexibility is provided for movies by the maker's Cinema FV-5. In that app, you can choose not just your resolution, but your recording quality level, recording codecs for video and audio, and frames per second. The only feature not supported by the GPe seems to be "unsupported resolutions"; I don't see any additional resolutions.

Missed settings for video in Z2 stock camera

How as you know, after update to MM ee got new camera app from Z5 bud we have limited functions now.
Im video mod we dont have options for tunnig brigtness and WB like before.Especially this for brightnes et. exposure is matter cause in most times Z2 has too light in scene when we take a video that is need to put exposure to -07 or even -1.0
