Also if you have debugging enabled you might be able to bypass the lock pattern via adb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800799
I would assume that it still works anyway, could be wrong
Install drivers first of course

I tried to instal the driver inside flashtool folder but it failed......

You need to disable driver signature enforcement if your on Windows 7 or 8, hold f8 at startup for 7 and for 8 it's settings on the left hand bar > change pc settings > update and recovery > recovery > advanced start up > restart now > troubleshoot > advanced options > start up settings. Long winded for 8 I know but yea do that

I've done this before exactly 5 times on Windows 7 and once on 8 but this is my first time doing this on Ubuntu. In Windows I remember installing device drivers(?) but in /home/.flashtool/devices/ I see a "busybox" executable (.exe) file and am not sure whether I should run that with Wine to install on Ubuntu. Has anyone done this before and were successful on 14.04? What did I not do?
Please do not say "just use Windows if you know how to do it that way" because I wish to learn how to do it on Linux as well.
Thank you so very much for any/all help I get in advance. Please don't mind my bad English as it is not my first language.
Help! :silly:
Edit: I could not add links to this post as this is my first post. (I have the links to how I completed the above steps if anyone needs I will edit this post with links after 9* more posts for anyone who sees this post in the future for help.

[SOLVED] error in flashing sgp621 to downgrade to kittkat

I have used the instruction to come back to kittkat. The FTF bundle is SGP621_23.0.1.A.0.167_CE.ftf and flashtool ver. 0.9.18.6
but when the flashing starts I got error, here is the log:

the first error "bundle not valid" I have ignored, as it was adviced on other forum and then connected the tablet in flashing mode (vol-) and quickly after that I got:

dude I only know that I had successfully downgraded from LP to KK just from flashtool..(the best I did for this tablet) check if your ftf is corrupted.it happened also to me 2 times in my other mobile devices..
how can I check if it is corrupted ?
That was my fault. I only choose the "generic drive" after running flastool-drivers.exe -
the driver specific for Z3 Compact Tablet was needed (was at the end of the list)
Nevertheles, after first attempt the Flashtool did not start flashing but enter into MTP mode and install
the drivers for the tablet, as I suppose.
Only after the second attempt it started flashing.
Now is ok, I have KK again.

Flashtool 'Can't read a byte value' error

hello guys,
I have been stuck with the following error message below in Flashtool for the last 2 days, trying to install the 5.11 firmware on my E5823.
Weird part is, that it worked once, when I was just moving files around in the firmware folder and reinstalling Flashtool...

I tried all tips I found on other treads/forums, but nothing seems to work...
- Restart Flashtool
- Reinstall Flashtool
- Move *.tft files out of firmware folder, remove firmware folder, restart Flashtool, shutdown Flashtool, move files back (this worked only once before!!!)
- Download new firmwares
Getting desperate here, as Im completely stuck now...
