[REQ] Moto Display APK - X 2014 Themes and Apps

Can anyone share the Moto Display APK? Thanks

This? https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5-28IyuIOoNOUhtQ291U3AzUUk/edit?usp=docslist_api

Yeah. I think there are some other APK's, jars & possibly libs needed for it to work...
I'm surprised no one has posted a Lollipop system dump for the X 2014... this would make my life much easier.

I know this thread is old but since you were also looking for moto display so am i, are you running a custom rom ?
i am using RR rom and i managed to install moto display somehow as there is a flashable zip of moto display for moto x 2015 stock android but i had flashed it on RR rom and NX rom via twrp also i needed to install moto and moto actions from playstore for it to work but the thing is custom rom has ambient display but when i turn on moto display the ambient display turns on as well and so ambient display triggers, but i guess disabling or deleting the ambient display feature from a custom rom would help trigger the moto display since both are enabled when i turn on moto display, also i copied the moto actions lib files in system/lib and gave root permission but it didn't work, i guess it needs a little workaround
but you can check the thread which i've created if you're still interested in moto display http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/moto-display-installed-nx-rom-t3393495

So... I'm running CM13 and I prefer moto display over the ambient display. When I install the apk I see a new option in the moto app, but when I try to open it, it crashes. Is there any possible fix for this?

very good, no lags, no fc, superior battery life, much better than 4.4.4.
For me , CM11 battery performance is 50% more than CM12
Theres no cyanogenmod 12 official to Moto E as long as I know, so I would recommend you to install the soak test official version through the adb, I bet that noRetail was talking about the official version not a rom. Using unofficial versions is not recommended if they are not stable.
battery improved but cant open user option.

Installed update on 24 feb. Working like a charm . improved battery life by 60-70% . but there's a problem with the multiuser option. First of all in settings, the user option is not shown. Secondly, when searched in settings , the option shows but when clicked , a blank page opens. Even cant open multiuser option from status bar or quick settings.
Not rooted device.
Please help.

Troubles with camera on Oreo Custom Roms

The last weeks I've been trying lots of roms but every single one has the camera bug. I don't know if there is an existing one working correctly or it may be a common oreo bug. I have tried a Google Cam Fix module for Magisk, a EIS enabler for the Moto Cam through recovery (I'm using a Moto G4 Plus) and recently changing the build.prop file permissions.
Have anyone found a rom with a working camera? I mean, without a green background in the second taken photo and available to record?

[Guide] Enable Ambient Display Gestures Using Magisk.

I was looking around for various customisation mods and found this link. I tested it on Havoc OS-Final build and it seems to be working flawlessly with wave to wake function and i am able to customise the watch style using Havoc Settings (Under Lock Screen--> Clock Style). All Credit goes to original Developer for this amazing module. Also attached the file for convenient usage.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-ambient-display-gestures-t3752830
Doesn't work on Stock ROM
Doesn't work with Vanilla Stock ROM, Rooted.
I don't know how much different this module is from the one available on official Magisk Module download repo but the latter sure doesn't work. It's for AOSP/near AOSP ROMs. Since Asus is not Android One, doesn't qualify ATM.
worked (Aex v7.3, reloaded A10, maybe other Rom can too), thank you. I extracted the magisk module, then pushed it to /system/priv-app

please issue gravitybox lockscreen

Hi everyone. Just installed gravitybox for oreo 8.0.0. When device goes into sleep mode it will not power on again whenever device is on security or even swipe mode, but the moment I remove every lock pattern it comes back normal. And also when i activate full screen mode of gravitybox the issue comes on again. So I discovered that whenever gravitybox is linked with anything on power menu on lockscreen is when the issue comes on. Please how do I disconnect gravitybox from interacting with lockscreen and still have fullscreen function of gravitybox. Am using gravitybox for oreo 8.0.0? Thanks
I have the same issue too!!
Using XZ2 on OREO! Please help!
You could probably ask in the GravityBox for Oreo thread. Be sure to specify your ROM and note that GB may not work as expected if using heavily modified ROMs like some OEM stock (TouchWiz, EMUI, MIUI, Sense, etc.).
Moto G5S Plus XT1806, Validus 8.1.0, microG-NanoDroid, MultiROM, XDA Legacy

I've asked already but no answer came back!
It's the first time that GB have this issue on Sony Stock Rom, the problem would be solved if we get a switch in GB to turn off the lockscreen tweaks.
So could anyone tell the developer to build in this switch?
Thx

[DEV][TESTING] Device tree overlay for GSI

Hi all,
as the GSI topic here is still having a few issues, i have created a gsi overlay as per phhussons instructions:
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/How-to-create-an-overlay
The source code can be found here:
https://github.com/mKenfenheuer/vendor_hardware_overlay
Build/install instructions:
(Assuming you have a recent Ubuntu/Debian/Mint Linux machine running)
1. Install xmlstarlet and dos2unix
2. Go to build folder
3. Run bash build.sh
4. Copy treble-overlay-realme-x2pro.apk to /system/overlay in your gsi.
5. add the following property to /vendor/build.prop or replace with the attached build.prop
# Patch to add device specific match for treble overlays by mkenfenheuer
ro.vendor.build.overlay.deviceid=RMX1931
Works (confirmed by me):
- Always on display
- 90hz display
'Should' be working:
- Enables DT2W option but enabling does not seem to have any effect to me.
- VOLTE - i cannot test as my carrier does not offer this anymore
- more reliable network connection (i have noticed far less lte issues, but this is my perception)
MISC:
- Imported the settings from realme vendor (i don't know if they are nescessary)
If there are any issues, simply delete the file from /system/overlay with recovery file manager and reboot.
I've added the compiled apk to this post, in case you do not want to build it yourself.

As i have currently not flashed any gsi, i would ask you guys to test please.
Preferably with phhussons AOSP 10 gsi.

I copy your .apk overlay to /system/overlay and reboot. I am on evolution gsi phh based. Nothing change as far as i notice.
Great initiative @mKenfenheuer !
I'll look into the settings to see if there are other that we could use!
@ospeto from what I see in the commits try to see if volte works and if you can switch user profiles.

I can switch user profiles just fine. Havent test volte though. By the way , the maximum brightness of gsi roms are not as bright as stock rom. Is there any fix for it?. I tried setting backlight to 255 but still not fixed.

I assume switching user profiles has not been working until now?
I have just unlocked my bootloader and started working on the kernel source so lets hope i can get this moving.
I will focus on the kernel first and once this is working we can start with getting other things working.

I haven't switch user profile before so i also am not sure. Should i delete your apk and test again?. I can't test volte cuz my sim provider stopped supporting volte. Thank you so much for your effort. I hope you can fix brightness, 90hz display and on display fingerprint. That would be very helpful for gsi users.
The fingerprint must be an overlay issue because even with bootloader unlocked it still works
Problems I'm facing with evolutionx gsi
1-no fingerprint or face unlock (face unlock was removed from Android Q but it can be added)
2-there's no 90 hz refresh rate
3-speaker volume is lower than color is
4-brightness is slightly lower than color os also
5-need the stock camera app for video recording because gcam isn't that reliable with video recording

There is a fix for the 90hz issue for the OPPO device
90hz just fixed with dtbo.img flashing. U can find it on your how to flash android 10 gsi post's comment. I am using with 90hz now and it is working flawlessly.

Yeah just flashed it and it's amazing
@exadeci all changes were merged into phhussons main repo and will be available in the next release.
He will also include a option in settings to force the display to a specific frame rate (eg.g 60hz) as 90hz will be the default with the overlay.
Sorry for maybe stupid question, but what letters “GSI” stand for?

GSI -> Generic System Image
If you want to know how to flash one onto your x2 pro have a look here

Hello , i think maximum brightness on gsi roms are not as bright as stock one. Is it gsi rom's bug or do we need overlay for it. I want to watch HDR content so i hope this can be fixed.
