CyanogenMod 12.1 for Samsung Galaxy Note II
GT-N7100 (t03g)
Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Have questions? Feel free to ask in the Q/A thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/help/qa-cyanogenmod-12-unofficial-t2976843
Installation Guide:
For beginners:
Make sure to backup your data first! All files will be lost after this process!
1. Make sure your device is rooted. If not, download these files from here:
Odin
CF-autoroot (unzip it, you will need CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5)
TWRP (make sure you download twrp-x.x.x-x-t03g.img.tar)
How to root:
- Reboot your phone into Download Mode,(turn off device and press these buttons: Volume Down+Power+Home, then pres Volume Up to continue).
- Connect the phone to your PC.
- Open Odin.
- Now Odin should recognize the device showing a different color under "ID:COM".If it doesn't after like a 5 minutes, download the Note II drivers from here.
- Find "AP" and click on it. A search box will appear: Search for CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5 in your computer and select it.
- Click on "Start" and wait for the phone to reboot, (a screen with a red text will appear on your phone - all normal, wait until the phone boots into system and search for SuperSU app, should be in your App Drawer).
2. We recommend TWRP recovey. So flash it with Odin just like you did with the CF autoroot before.
3. Turn off device. Press Volume Up+Power+Home so the phone will boot in Recovery Mode
TWRP will boot and you can now see different buttons, please notice "Install", "Settings", "Reboot" and "Wipe".
First, open "Settings" and make sure "Use rm-rf instead of formatting" is checked. Then, open "Wipe" and select "Advanced Wipe" (Note! We recommend you to wipe everything if you come from a different ROM. This is called a "clean install" and it's strongly recommended. ). Check "Dalvik/ART Cache", "Cache", "System", ""Data", "Internal Storage" and then "Swipe to Wipe". Now go back and select "Reboot" and "Recovery" after that,(the reboot again in Recovery Mode).
4. Now your device is clean and we can proceed! Make sure you have the latest version of ROM downloaded and Gapps,(these two will be the only files you need).
Connect your device to your PC and copy the files directly into Internal Memory or SD Card,(you PC will recognize your device while it's in TWRP Recovery Mode and you can find it named as "t03g").
When the files are finally copied into your device, go and select "Install" and search for them. Make sure you install the ROM first and Gapps after. After this you will have two buttons down "Wipe Dalvik/Cache" and "Reboot System". Select "Wipe Dalvik/Cache" and when it's done reboot into your fresh new Lollipop Android by selecting "Reboot System".
5. Wait for the system to boot and optimize the apps for the first time, it usually takes a few minutes!
6. ENJOY!
For experienced users:
Wipe everything!
Flash ROM and after that flash the Gapps;
Wipe Dalvik/Cache;
Reboot.

Do not report bugs on this just yet
So far sdcard mounting is broken (also pc wont recognise hone as media device because of that and device wont boot with sdcard)
and GPS is broken but it should be okay for first build and it can sort of be used as daily driver (Its fast and stable if you exclude those 2 bugs)
Enjoy
I will sort off those 2 issues soon
(cm build comming soon(ish))

awesome! I would like to try this. just one question, you mentioned that there was a problem with the mobile data, I wonder, is there any problem with calls or sms's? If not, I would gladly give this a try and send any feedback or logcats you wish
P.S. Can't wait for a stable version

Mega is not blocked in India, Me & a lot of other people i know can access it.
Your ISP is the culprit, call & ask your ISP to add the Global DNS for your connection & then you should be able to access it.
This worked for me, Hope this helps. :good:

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Installation:
For switching to F2FS, see POST#3
1. Download ROM zip and GApps zip.
2. Extract boot.img from the zip and flash it via fastboot
3. Boot into recovery.
4. Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache.
5. Flash ROM zip. (it may take some time)
6. Reboot to system and let it settle.
7. Reboot and flash GApps zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM12 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.

F.A.Q.
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58478000&postcount=88
2) How to increase system memory?
Follow the instructions at this thread to create a swap file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2359182
I have found the recommended configurations to be quite effective, Only one swap file of the recommended size i.e. about 188MB will fix many things.
3) How to switch between EXT4/F2FS ?
Newer build has F2FS enabled for /data and /cache partition. So you need to format those partition to F2FS first.
i) Make sure to backup everything, cause you'll be formatting your data partition.
ii) Reboot to recovery and goto Wipe => Advanced Wipe. Then wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache.
iii) Return to Wipe => Advanced Wipe again. Now select only data partition and click Repair or Change filesystem => Change Filesystem. Now select F2FS from the list and swipe to format data partition to F2FS.
iv) Similarly, format cache partition to F2FS too.
v) Now you're ready to flash the rom. Flash it normally and reboot.
vi) Using steps iii & iv, you can easily go back to EXT4 partition. But wiping is needed.
vii) All these steps are needed ONCE. After you formatted to F2FS, you don't need to do it again.
vii) Remember, to flash rom successfully your /data and /cache partition have to be in F2FS format.
Issues
1) If you don't get root access, change Root Access to Apps and ADB in Developer Options and then back to Apps only

Install Super SU http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

1. There are a way lot of memory leaks in the rom (greater than 5.0.1 AOSX).
In file manager(not Cyanogen FM), for example, I've to go 'UP' instead of going 'BACK' because going back exits the file manager.
2. They keyboard isn't persistent (maybe because of memory leaks). Cannot even complete a single word until the keyboard goes off.
Also,
Found something strange -
I changed the value of ro.config.low_ram from true to false in build.prop and I experienced much smoothness in UI than when the value was true.
Plus, I got a lockscreen wallpaper because I've enable high-end graphics.

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system me and @-+BB+- added some changes from CyanogenMod. We added also some non-AOSP features like init.d support, @alucard_24 kernel for better performance and energy saving, STweaks for advanced kernel settings and support for Over-The-Air updates through a dedicated app (OTA Updates). Maybe something else from us might be added, but please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
Update from a previous build:
Via OTA Updates:
Open OTA Updates app
Download the update

We mainly talk in the i9505 thread located here, head over for further details about development progress, bug fixing etc.
is there any requirement to go from 4.4.2 to this rom? I am on L720VPUFNG2.
Does it detect international 3g GSM Sim cards ? I have tried many AOSP roms and none of them recognize my sim. I have to use TW based ones.
does it have hotspot mod or do I need to add it?
Bt not activate on i720t
I just installed stable (v1 - 20150917) of this rom, and I have to say: Nice work! I've held off on upgrading from CM11 for way too long because of stability and battery life concerns. This rom is my new DD, and has been working great. Thanks!
Been using a few days. Only things I noticed is mms and SMS are delayed. I use hangouts so it could just be that. I get texts like way after they're sent from friends and I know because of the time stamps. Anyone else experience this?
The camera crashes for me too. I could do some logs or whatever if need be.
Rom kicks serious ass tho. Everything is going well. Def flash this if you haven't already!!!!
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Free mobile app
This rom has been running great. Came from GPE and this seems more solid.
Have been using as my dd for the past several days and will continue to use it as my dd. Great work!

Using Sprint Google Voice integration I had the same issue with Hangouts set as the default SMS app. I switched the default to "messenger" instead, and the delay went away although oddly the SMS messages still go to Hangouts and not messenger. Weird.
I have the issue as i have with the most roms, this rom is perfect but i cant use it at all with my problem. i am making calls but i am not receiving them, it beeps at the phone that calls me but it does not show anything on me.

new update to google hangouts fixed my issues with sms and mms. i am using hangouts version 5.0.104885319
so after switching back over to hangouts and merging my messaging everything is working for me again!
I'm loving this ROM it's almost working perfectly on my L720T I've only noticed one thing that is an issue. Sometimes when the screen goes to sleep and I try to wake up the phone it freezes and I have to reboot it or it reboots on it's own. Any ideas what might be causing this?
Can't wait for the 6.0 M build!

So i'm curious if anybody has tired the new 5.1.1 build that was released two days ago on their sprint S4 without issues?

Installed it using OTA Update and it broke Google Play Services. Then reflashed it from a clean wipe and working fine now although I get an occasional freeze.
Does this ROM have theme support? TIA...
Rom works great, thanks!
I just have two small issues:
1. The capacitive buttons still seems to be active even after I turn the screen off (meaning they still vibrate when you touch them)
2. Anyone know how I can turn off the LED charging light? I tried light manager but it didn't help.

Multi Window Support - J500F
Hi @Nick Verse
First of all, Thank You so much for this awesome rom..

Can you add Multi Window Support in the next release of this rom for J500F..??

Cm 13 is not yet stable, fully working. And dont try to undermine other peoples work.
Hi there
Who can help me to understand and solve the following situation: i want to add spelling romanian language to stock cm12.1 keyboard. Romanian language is available only just as language, for entire operation system, not for spelling purposes (is not in the spelling languages list when i try to add it). So, how can i add it whitout installing another app like Google Keyboard? Is possible?
I use Nicke Verse CM12.1 version from 15.07 on a J500FN.
Best!

Propably CyanogenMod official developers didn't add the spelling feature for Romanian language in the official repository! You can contribute in GitHub on your own if you want, or PM a Developer!

Hi @Nick Verse
First of all, Thank You so much for this awesome rom..
I just have one request..
I'm using J500F (Indian Version)..
Can you add Multi Window Support in the next release of this rom for J500F..??
Thanks in advance..

Multi-Window support uses Android API 24, which means you will have to wait for Android 7.0!

I was referring to adding multi-window support... because it's kinda buggy if implemented on Lollipop...
I never undermine anyone's work and am currently using Nick Verse's CM12...
Sorry for the misunderstanding...

Updated [Downloads Tab]
Updated SM-J500FN. Next is SM-J500F. Download links will be in the downloads tab from now on.
Audio Latency
We have noticed some longer than usual audio delays a long time ago in CM builds from source.
The main concept is to make the builds as fast responding as possible.
- Currently the audio.primary.msm8916 module is a proprietary blob, because without it in-call audio breaks. (related to proprietary Samsung RIL blobs)
- Disabled AUDIO_OUTPUT_FLAG_FAST, as it is constantly denied in logs even when set in native 44100 sampling rate.

@Nick Verse
Thank you for your awesome work!
I think I'll test the new version later.
By the way, I think you should mention in OP how to download, because some people use the old XDA theme (2010), including me (but I know how to download) and they can't see the project tabs unless they switch to at least 2013 theme.
EDIT:
@Nick Verse : When you go to downloads tab, there is download link. You can put it in OP as direct download link, but people will still have to switch to at least 2013 theme. Maybe you can put the link of downloads tab too. It's your choice

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Please read before posting anything!
Will this work/can you make it work on P600/P601?
Short answer: No! Only SM-P605 is supported.
But there are other projects for your device. For P600 (n1awifi) you can just download the latest official nightly.
Can you add xy feature?
It is and will stay a build straight from LineageOS sources, not a fork, so no. And also afaik there is no feature request way for LineageOS atm.
My SIM card is not recognized. What can I do?
As RIL blobs are from 5.1.1 firmware package, you need to be on modem from 5.1.1 firmware. The easiest way: just get an firmware package from Sammobile, Updato... and flash it via Odin. If it's still not working after that, do the same again (sometimes this is necessary).
Something is not working (correctly) / I found a bug? What should I do?
Make sure there are no potential courses for that issue like installed Xposed or system modifications. Also look, if it's listed in the OP or somebody already mentioned it. If not, just post about it and all information about it you have (circumstances, steps to reproduce it...).
Of course only for my builds you found in that thread, not for other/offical builds.
Amazing work!
Running your 10-27 build since yesterday night and working great so far on my T-Mobile P-607T.
Only thing noticed so far are that can not change the battery style and display battery % on the statusbar.
That's purely cosmetic, the build is fast and stable. Weather location service works, have not tested GPS
nav yet.
Setup wizard worked for me on the 10-27 build.
Will download and test this build.
Thanks for keep supporting the Note 10.1 2014.
Thanks
Thanks for making this sweet build. Everything works well on my P607-TM except for the fact that it thinks the SIM card is not inserted. I came from a aosp 6.0.1 build and did an advanced format of everything except for external SD card. I tried formatting a few times and reinstalling a few times with no luck.

Thats the SetupWizard App, that comes with GAPPS. I had to remove the CyanogenMod SetupWizard, because of a FC while Wifi Setup. (I think, it uses the deprecated SETUP_WIFI_NETWORK.)

Make sure, you are on the latest modem (e.g. by flashing latest firmware).
Also an LogCat would be useful (How to do this).
Yeah you're absolutely right about the radio firmware once I upgraded baseband from P607TUVUBOI2 to P607TUVSBPH1 and reflash everything works as expected! thanks again for this awesome rom!

firmware is very smooth, but
- Sometimes crash settings app
- Does not work the microphone during a call through Skype
Does this version fix the bug that I saw with rotation?
Edit. Isn't a bug. Settings disabled rotation for certain orientation by default. Need fix by changing in settings.
it cant read my sim
Does it support exfat or ntfs file system with write rights?
great rom..sometimes a little bit stuttering, but finally great to have 7.1
how do you use your stylus? do u have a special app for that?
Thank you again

I flashed back to the default TMobile P607TUVUBOI2 firmware and then did an internal update to P607TUVSBPH1 which updated the radio baseband. This solved the missing SIM issue for me.
Hooray! One more of my devices could hop on CM14.x! I think imma start building myself starting next month...
Are MTP and ADB connections working too? Those aren't present in official CM13 nightlies and are the most irritating I found in them.

Yes, they work.
In the CM13 Nighlys the kernel driver for MTP is failing. If you want to fix/add some things to your CM13 Builds:

I think, it's the same issue. If you want to build TWRP you should use a OmniROM source tree (i change the device tree for that a bit :https://github.com/davidmueller13/device_lt03lte_nougat/tree/omni ).
Is it common that the menu button calls up the recent apps?
I tried editing it in options but no matter if short press or long press are changed to any option available it still uses recent apps.

Yes, that is normal. I don't know how to fix it myself without gravitybox. That option won't work because 7.0/7.1 has no xposed support yet.

Change in sec_touchscreen.kl in system/usr/keylayout "APP_SWITCH VIRTUAL" to "MENU VIRTUAL".
I think, i will change it in the next build and set the app switch to "long press home" and disable "double tap home".
Good news for camcorder: I fixed recording, but we have to wait for some changes in CM14.1. But at least it works for our device finally in CM13.

Installation instructions:
1. Make sure you have TWRP installed on your device to be able to flash the rom.
2. Download the latest build from the link above and copy it to a place where you can find it later.
3. Optionally download GApps for using the Play Store and other Google related services from here: https://opengapps.org. Choose ARM as architecture and 8.1 as the OS version. The size of the GApps package is upon to you how much apps you want to have preinstalled. Copy this zip aswell to a place where you can find it easy later. If you download it with Chrome or with the Google Drive App it should be by default in the Download folder.
4. Turn your phone off and press Volume UP + Home Button + Power button at the same time until the splash screen appears. Then your device should boot into the recovery. There you wipe following partitions: Data, System, Cache, Dalvik if this is your first install. All of your installed applications get lost by this. Your photos, videos etc. won't get deleted if you haven't ticked the box for internal storage. As the kernel also supports F2FS i would change the filesystem for the cache partition from ext4 to f2fs for a better system performance. Now go to the main TWRP menu, click on install and go to the place where you have placed your zips and first select the rom and then click on the left button if you have downloaded the optional GApps package to add another zip to the queue. Now swipe the slider at the bottom to install and reboot the phone to the system. The first boot can take a while and after booting you could experience some lags because of the GApps initialization but they should disappear after some time.
4. Now you have successfully installed the rom and you're ready to use dotOS on your device. Congratulations!
Bugs:
- VoLTE (isn't working on samsung devices and won't work anytime in the future too)
- Same as LineageOS 15.1

Alright then!
One more thing: There is a problem with low bitrate audio when recording video on 3rd party apps.
Thanks for developer, this rom is lite, I hope that the ROM will develop even better.
Wow, i was really waiting for this port. Battery life is much better than any of AOSP projects. GJ and big thank you for porting and fixing it.
Found issue of low mic in telegram, whatsupp and etc. danwood76 spent a lot of time trying to solve it and he DID it.
Don't know maybe this information will be helpful for you and maybe he will tell u how easily to fix it.

@Borduni is using a fork of my lineageos device tree so my modification to the mixer levels should already be included in his ROM.
Maybe there is a recording volume setting within DotOS that is causing the issue or maybe it uses a different mixer path?

Yes mic volume is ok, but in apps (eg. Snapchat) there is problem with low bitrate audio, same on danwood's ROM.
Can't confirm. Made some tests and it should be snapchat that is making the audio worse. For me everything is fine with other apps.
If you are facing any performance/battery issues or ui glitches like the status bar isnt working or the list of the latest opened apps isnt displaying i'll suggest you to wipe data, system, cache and dalvik before installing the newest build. The UI should be pretty fluid if you did it like that .
