LG L9 II (D605) How to root - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hallo guys,
I´m sorry for new thread but can somebody create tutotial, how to root this device? A lot of tuts do not work, because 4.4.2 (KitKat) blocks the rooting. (I tried for example Vroot, Towelroot, etc. but nothing is working )

4.4.2 can not be rooted (proper permanent root) !
You will have to install stock JB (4.1.2) via .kdz , then root, install CWM recovery, update or flash to stock KK (4.4.2), and then from recovery to root agin.
All you need is in this threads first page:

And, if something will be wrong, for example softbrick, what can I do?

1 - flash old rom (OFFICIAL) via kdz flasher
2 - root - Cydia impactor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448085
3 - install recovery - CWM Recovery for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2652201
//the hole point so far is so u have a custom recovery so that u can "force install/patch" the root
4 - flash 4.4.2 kdz / or update via normal ways (LG update from phone, or from LG PC Suite )
5 - enter CWM Recovery, and apply the root for 4.4.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2754633
And u are done !
The phone cant be hardbriked (from what i know, and most moder phones cant be hardbiricked). If u softbreak it, try the steps where it crashed, untill will work. (i had to try to install the kdz 20 times - i belive i had some cable/power issues with the pc). Also, do all this with the phone battery fully charged !!! (in case it does go wrong, u have enough hours of battery left to make it work)

Please, can you post me which specifically ROMs I should download? I'm a bit lost in ROMs.

Have you any more v10 EU? One is broken (logo LG is still refreshing and second one is 404) when I flashed on 20A EU again, it is working as before with all apps and settings.
May I download for example czech or italian version, or where is problem?? What I do wrong?

Download links work fine for me !
U can download czech or any country, doesn't matter.
After u install the .kdz, u must reset the phone (it formats the cache , davlik, data, etc....) (when u put 20A again, all the original user data was intact, because the phone was not reseted).
http://www.hard-reset.com/lg-optimus-l9-ii-d605-hard-reset.html ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkzJlLY3T1k )
After u install the CWM you will be able to clear cashe, data, etc .. from the CWM Recovery menu.
A bit of reading the forums, wouldn't hurt either .....
edit: also note that the first boot takes a lot of time .... if it is more than 20 minutes than something went wrong. Try a few times to be sure, and then reinstall.

Sure, I have read it, but now I have problem with booting. I reinstall it several times, but the logo of LG is there for a long time ( sound and animation are repeated) - I left it maybe 5 min (could not be turned off - only remove battery), when it didn´t work, aj flashed again v20. So I am going to try it once again with czech kdz and leave it more time. I will prey

Again, you dont need the cz .kdz ! Use the one u got. After the kdz flasher finishes, RESET the phone! That is the "magic" step!

Sorry for that, but how to get into recovery? I did all, but when I update on 4.4.2, I cannot get to recovery. I tried from terminal (nothing) and app called reboot recovery (it reported, I need root) and manualy (vol+ and power) also didnt work. Before update everything worked (on old kdz).

[Q] How to boot to CWM without root?
[A]
1. Reinsert battery
2. Hold Power+Vol Up+Home for about ten seconds a white text appears, that says "Release all buttons" you have 500ms time if it reboots start from step 1 again.
YOU HAVE TO BE VERY EXACT! (If you once installed CWM you have it even when you flashed KK .zip)
or activate in settings, developer options, and then usb debugging. Connect with the pc and issue the command from there. I dont know the exact command, u shuld read the forum thread above... i belive is there (not sure). Anyway on this, google is a good friend.

hello,
to thank colleagues for advice and links to topics
I am surprised that no one gave link on the forum:

where there is already some time given way to root the firmware that runs on v20a and v20d to him to write it on v20d at the moment there is only one method specified on the Polish forum, greet and welcome to

Can't get it installed, wont work. I'm to dumb. And I really wanna upgrade to CM7 bad!
So I have two options... 1. Use KDZ or 2. Pay someone to put CM7 on it for me.
KDZ is the only thing I can use successfully. I read all tutorials but never succeed. And I don't want to take risk to try and Brick my phone again.

Putting recovery is way too easy than making a kdz file. Its like impossible to make kdz file.

Nearly Impossible to pack roms as kdz file.
First of all can I verify your phone version? If it's 2.2.1/2.2.2
You can easily root your phone without downgrading it
Firstly you would want to root the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1044765
Download Gingerbreak
- Make sure USB debugging is enabled(Can be enabled through settings)
- Make sure you have an SD card (formatted and) inserted
- Place the app onto the root of your SD card
- Open the APK, press the root button
- Wait a few minutes. If there are no problems, the device will reboot (note that the reboot itself can take like 10 minutes due to cache wipe)
Congratulations the phone is rooted.

Hi guys,i'm new to this forum and i have a problem with ACE s5830,i installed the firmware 2.3.3 GINGERBREAD XXKPE EUROPE (i FROYO 2.2.1 ITALIAN),so good, the ACE works well and much more responsive, but i realized that no longer goes into recovery mode so i can not install zip packages, when i feel the sequence ACE the middle button+power turns on and goes into recovery, solutions? Thanks to those who can help me(sorry for my bad english).
There Is A Software Called Boot Control.. mind u its works as a widget so install in on ur phone memory and go to Widget -> Boot Control
search it in the market
Also Quick Boot application works for SGA...
these applications require root, because I do not have it, I just need to go through recovery to take root update zip?

Unfortunately I tried many times, does not work, but I do not understand why does the download and instead the recovery mode no, I did the flash as it was described here at XDA, I do not understand why, maybe the firmware XXKPE did this? Should I try to flash again, or better not? Or is there no way to make the root install other zip recovey?

But besides the fact that this Rom installed, there is a way to unlock the recovery? (thanks to those who have tried to help in some way.)
Sorry guys you break the boxes the last time, have mercy, the recovery could be blocked because when I flashed the KPE was flagged DEBUG USB? And if I tried to flash again you can, or should not? If you have to flash just like the first time (OPS, APBOOT, PHONE, PDA, CSC?)

CWM - Based Recovery Xperia s - The easy way

Hi all, i recently scoured these forums searching for the most simple way to achieve recovery on the Xperia S. Of course to no avail to a newbie like myself. My device is rooted and with ICS, with an unlocked bootloader. I initially tried to achieve CWM by using the application on the market (Prior to obtaining root but with unlocked bootloader & ICS). I recently tried to achieve CWM using the CWM - Xperia on the market and success it worked! Simply click the "Reboot into recovery mode" within the application and it will install CWM into the system partition so you can use recovery! I am unsure whether this has been posted recently but i avoided posting it elsewhere due to restrictions and the like, i hope this hasn't been discovered yet and im not just being ignorant to the forum i literally could not find any news of this elsewhere!
If needs be, i will make a guide on how to achieve this including the rooting and flashing steps i took.

CWM is some kind like the Bios from your pc...except does not have the same functions
it`s a recovery, where you can backup your rom and restore if something goes wrong with your phone!
with it you can install some custom ROM`s
you can clear cache...dalvik cache....and a lot more to do!
but really the mos usefull function of it is the backup-restore and the flash of different modules rom`s and kernels!
it`s better to have cwn just in case

install Sony PC Comanion first
second check the usb debugging box from {}developer options
then just plug your phone into the usb
after that double click on install.bat
i am on unlocked bootloader
i don`t know if it works with locked bootloader
it should work
another way to install CWM is to flash a kernel wich already have CWM on it!
to do that you must install fastboot driver an connect your phone in fastboot mode to your pc(with the phone shut off pres and keep volume up key and plug into USB untill the blue led is on)
than go to the extracted folder(in the attachment) and pres and hold shift key + right click
select from menu open command window here
in the cmd window type " fastboot flash boot kernel.elf" without the comma`s
it will install the Xperia SSpedd OC @ 1,67 MHZ and you will get CWM olso on your device!
After installing that to enter CWM pres volume up when booting the phone while the blue led and light stripe is on!
this is olso for unlocked bootloader,i don`t know if it works for locked bootloader since my phone is with unlocked bootloader from the day 1!
Again simply installing this APK from the market seems to be less daunting.

this method and the 993D has stopped working after a kernel upgrade, try this this way, if the last time out, then and now should.
Sorry for translate.google
1. download the utility View attachment unlockbootloader.rar
2. Unzip to your C drive
3. Run and choose unlockbootloader.exe ROOT Your Background
4. Wait for all operations. Console appears that self-close after the completion of the process of obtaining mouth
5. Download and install SuperSU

As I can see from your other posts you rooted the 997D with the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15 solution. After that you did the system firmware update and you don't have root anymore?
I also updated the firmware of my 997D through my phone settings/about phone/system updates/check for update and after that I first tried to root my phone with the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15 utility and it didn't work.
Is there any way to rollback our firmware?

Before running unlockbootloader try to disable antivirus, and run as administrator.
root
i'm pretty sure the update is preventing the root. Badluck for us then? i know a bit of android, but i'm no developer so i can't make a rootfix by my own
Anyone here has some knowledge to get our nice device rooted?

The root is not working with that tool
SuperOneClick: Step #7 .. after that, freeze
same here, tried both superoneclick and the binary root, both don't work anymore.
Nice move from alcatel to fix root in an update, if i only knew this before i updated
Also tried Unlockroot 3.0 (which was updated recently) but it doesn't work
ok, found this out, when you shut down the phone, press volume up + power button, phone starts in android recovery mode 3e, any possible chance to get the phone rooted this way?
c'mon guy's i want this phone rooted, getting resolution problems with games (software buttons of ics hide some of the screen) can't start some gps apps because of this stupid software buttons)
anyone dare to try this: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?ldao6p9eyjuu1f9
I'm prepared to even pay for a working root, so if anyone has found a way, pls contact me at pm
Any news on this subject? I love the phone, but I miss the SetCPU profiles I used on my previous phone, and a battery meter with percentage...
Nothing yet, I have tried every available method soc,unlockroot,bin4ary etc and nothing works after the firmware update.
Is there anyone who hasn't done the firmware update and can root his phone? If yes please do a factory reset and take a backup of his ROM and upload.
I guess our best bet would be a port of CWM recovery. Maybe I'll backup the stock recovery and use the CWM recovery builder this evening if I have the time

I'll reply to myself: no way, since you need to be rooted in order to dump the stock recovery. Maybe if someone could try to extract the OTA update so we could examine the files and look if the recovery.img is there...
---------- Post added at 03:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:46 PM ----------
Ok, I have managed to get something.
Following this tutorial by Bruno Martins (a well known rom cooker who's also a user here) I've been able to dump recovery.img from my Alcatel OT-997D: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com.es/2012/04/creating-rom-dump-of-your-mt65x3-device.html
The tutotial was meant for MT6513 and MT6573 devices, but looks like it works on MT6577 too.
Then, I've used that file with the Clockworkmod recovery builder at http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ and now I have another recovery image, which is supposed to be a CWM port for our Alcatel.
I'm still unsure to flash that recovery, since I can't be sure it will work. Mediatek based phones do not have a fastboot mode, so it's impossible to just try a recovery image without actually flashing it. In fastboot mode, you can boot the phone into a custom recovery without actually flashing it, so you risk nothing if it doesn't work
In case someone daring enough wants to try my custom recovery, I've uploaded it to my Mediafire account: http://www.mediafire.com/?7232aj7jhg7l4e5
The idea is that, with a working CWM recovery, it should be possible to flash Chainfire's SuperSU root zip and easily root the phone.
Of course I warn you this could ruin the recovery image on your phone, so don't risk doing it if you're not sure.

You must unlock your phone bootloader before install any custom rom.
For P768 (this should work with P765 & P760 but I think there're P760 thread somewhere in forum)

What is your problem? Can you flash kdz successfully? Please give more information so other people can help you.
Your phone model is P760, right? What is your original rom version on your phone before flash new one?
Which kdz you flash?
And what the problem with your phone?
Got some really good problems now,
If I try to flash the V20H_00.kdz, the tool crashes, i don't know how or why, LG mobile support tool detects mobile, but doesnt want to install a software since the last version is installed already, indeed if I start up the phone, I get a white screen....
I NOW CAN COME INTO CWM, but problem is, I can't install rom because of a problem, it denies, number 7 fould. Maybe because my bootloader still isn't unlocked?
I really don't get it since I had a custom rom already before without any problems... ;S

You can get status 7 error in cwm if your phone model is incompatible with rom.
But I want to make sure your phone boot loader is already unlocked. Did you unlock it? To check this please boot into S/W update mode and see if there're any text print at top of that screen.

Yes, that's right. For CWM don't detect rom problem may be you don't zip it properly.
