Update.zip not Update.app
basically HP Voice tab Ultra is Huawei Mediapad X1 7D-501L
and the firmware/Update file is in zip not app file format and thats so looking good that opens the possibility of Custom Rom's for our beloved X1 i think.
I try to flash it on my X1.
I'll keep u all posted.
UPADATE: the Voice tab stock recovery is needed ithink.

How can i help you get voicetab ultra recovery ? (If at all i can get it from my vocietab ultra)
Btw Do you know how to install 501L rom onto voicetab ultra ?

in theory hardware is the same
so with some modification its possible i think.
you can back up your recovery with "flashify"(i dont know if i miss spelled or not) app from Google Play Or any other store and give me a link.
you didnt ever test a 501L Rom ,will it flash on the HP VU or not?

HP VU stock recovery : http://goo.gl/BKJxTn
I added this beta rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw…0-dpi-t2923307) to my HP VU. I added update.app to dload from KK 4.4.2 / EMUI 2.3 / 400DPI (DE). It installed successfully, but my device was bricked after that. Got device replaced by HP. Probably recovery and fastboot was overwritten by 503L recovery.

should work as it is said soc. (only you would have to change res and resolution) but there is only one decision that does not go into recovery at the moment I do not know what it is. Greetings.

IUNI U2 - Vanilla Android KK?

Hello guys! Bought the IUNI U2 - 32GB/3GB and the IUNI OS is a big problem. Not only for me but for most of the users of iuni U2. There is a rebranded version of romanian Allview (x1 xtreme mini) that runs a suposable Vanilla KK on the 16Gb/3Gb version. Could it be that the vanilla kk or other closer to google stock version be imported/flashed into Iuni U2? There are some ”better” english versions of iuni os on french forum but this device deserves more, a natural android OS.
So, have you any information on the posibility of flashing a vanilla kk to Iuni U2? Or any other os closer to google?

Well, I got rid of Iuni U2 and bought a Allview x1 xtreme mini.... (the same device, rebranded and with only 16 GB/2Gb) and the rom is FULL STOCK 4.4.2 with just some minimal google apps and facebook preinstalled. It's better than CM Good luck guys!

I've installed the SuperSu apk via recovery on 2 different phones, one of which is the Iuni U2 and it seemed to work no matter what.
It's by far the easiest way I've used.
Not sure it works on all devices though.

You could flash a custom IUNI U2 recovery like CWM or TWRP. There's a nice tutorial here if you are willing to try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57528781&postcount=2
In the recovery, you should be able to back up system img and boot img etc.
This could be a risk though, maybe the U2 recovery would not work your phone.

That's exactly why I do not try the U2 tools. Also, x1 xtreme mini has different hardware than the 32 Gb version of U2. I do not want to take the risk.
recovery for 32gb ang 16gb r both same
One of my friend is using Iuni U2 32GB version( no SD card).
He flashed Walton Primo Z 16 GB(U2 rebrand) Vanilla KitKat ROM.
After flashing, His phone's internal memory shows only 16gb.
I think after flashing that ROM his phone's partition was changed.
How to repartition or get back remaining internal memory?

Rom porting- paranoid android to huawei mediapad t1 s8-701u

Hi all,,
I am using an s8-701u Huawei Mediapad t1 8.0 honor,, with rooted stock jellybean 4.3 rom (emui 1.6) and bootloader unlocked. I want to make a custom rom or use ""paranoid android" or PAC man rom on this device.
I tried to port PA 3.99 of google nexus 2013, but cant do that because i dont have a base custom rom, so i tried to cook one with android kitchen by dsixda but no luck because my device doesn't have support. So i tried to add support by ""edify" but mount points from recovery.fstab doesnt have valid mount points and i dont know what are param1 and param2 in edify,,
i am this far from porting,, please help me or i can use one of the roms available for my device with you,, if anyone have any rom for this mediapad t1 please give that to me
thanks to you all.. hoping for advice and help
why dsixda's kitchen doesnot support custom rom for newer huawei devices??? Said by himself in his thread

Instead of waiting for the pre-rooted image, I just rooted mine by flashing SuperSU with TWRP.

It can, but the real problem was that the 2015 Pro firmware is just now finally available. I have been waiting for it for ever it seems.

I am not sure what you mean. I rooted my 2015 pro since the day the nougat update came out.
Despite the title saying 5.0.2, the current firmware downloads seem to be available here (including the dev_rooted version!) with no Nvidia developer account required:
http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/17759/ :good:
I have a shield tv 2015 pro, I am currently running full android JellyBean rooted on it, can I use the firmware in the link above to upgrade to the newest version of android? or is there some other process I have go to throug?

Hello prabin__,
Thank you for your response. I tried lineageOS, it was very slow and i can exploit it.
So i returned to the official ROM.
My problem with this ROM (EMUI 4.1.3) is that it closes background applications even if i make them protected.
I want to have a performant rom working with simple sim (not LTE) that does not close the background apps.
or an upgrade to EMUI 5 (I heared that it does not have this issue)
Any suggsestion is welcome.
Thank you.

I too am willing to install the Paranoid ROM because it's stable. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/rom-t3649258)
But it says that in order to install the ROM the phone has to be updated to EMUI 4.1 B895/B896 and the TWRP version must be 3.1.1 . And that's probably related to the p8 lite and since I too have got a y6ii and my current update is, EMUI 4.1.3 CAM-L21C636B190,
I'm a bit confused, should I too have to update my y6ii to the aforementioned EMUI version?
I also currently have TWRP 3.0.1 installed on my phone and I guess I need to remove it and install TWRP 3.1.1 right?
Can you advice me on this. Thanks!.
